HIGHLIGHTS:

00:35 coloring the BAND of the extensions

02:40 the SECONDARY color

03:43 creating the seamless transition

06:40 the TOP of the extensions done

07:08 the bottom of the extensions

08:20 EXTENSIONS complete

always start with doing a little bit of the BAND. you can always paint dye further on, but you can't remove the dye once you've put it on. you'll want to make sure you repeat this process for BOTH sides of the extensions. from there you can start working on creating a SEAMLESS transition with the colors your client wants. make sure you FEATHER the color. you'd be surprised at just how long dying extensions can take! this process may take a bit of time, but the PERFECT match #colormatch of hair to EXTENSIONS is well worth the work.

Hello, everyone welcome to today's video. So today, I'm gon na be showing you how to embrace extensions. We did release the video that was showing how to do a color melt with extensions like adding in the illusion of a color melt, and we have a lot of people requesting how we colored the extensions. So this is what the video is going to be about. Stay tuned. Ok! So now it's time to get started, I have my three colors mixed formula doesn't really matter because obviously you're gon na be doing it with your own colors. So first thing I always recommend this is actually gon na, be more of a color melt than on mom break cuz. There'S gon na be three colors is always start with doing a little bit of the border, because this is what you're gon na hold down. You? Don'T ever want to go too far down, so what I always start by doing is just painting the band and just coming a little bit down like so so I'm just gon na start with painting the band and just a little bit down we're gon na make We'Re gon na have maybe about an inch to inch and a half of dark, but we're gon na do that later. We'Re gon na just paint the band and then we're gon na be the second color and then we're gon na blend the two together to make sure that there's a seamless, a seamless transition. Let'S do that all the way along the edges. So did you want to see shadow so just a very Tanner board all the way around and then I'm gon na do the same on the other side over here now it's starting to oxidize. So it's a little easier to see, and I don't know if you can hear it, but it is thundering outside. It is super cloudy today we're gon na have a Thunder shower right away here. Hence why this is a little bit darker, but what can you do? Okay, then we're gon na do the band on the other side, and now we have this order on this side done and then I'm going to flip it back to the original slide, because now I can really see it how its oxidized perfect. Now, what we're gon na do is we're gon na take our secondary color. Obviously it's lighter than this one, so I'm gon na paint it right up to the line and I'm really gon na dye fuse it. This is my secondary color here and you kind of have to make sure that the ends of the hair are straight down because you don't want it to pull, because I'm gon na leave a little random streets of darkness. Okay, that's kind of the general and then now what you want to do is turn your brush vertically and feather through, because I so obviously this is a halo. So it's nice and thick. You want to make sure you get all the hair inside and you also want it to be vertical as you're feathering down, so it has more of a die fuse. So now you can kind of see how it's starting to blend a little or fade down. Now. What I want to do is make sure I'm spreading up the hair and really making sure that it's feathered out really differently, because otherwise it's gon na look like it's dip, dyed again spread that hair and you really don't want it to be. Even so, you can see in some spots they have like it's much shorter and higher up, and so I'm going to drag down so that when you wash it, it will give very diffuse gradient of color, okay yeah. This is the one side. It'S kind of hard to see. I'M gon na show it to you outdoors, I'm gon na flip it over and do the other side. And it's perfect. You see you can see that it's already starting to come true. Now I have a general guideline of what I want where I want to put the color on the other side. Perfect. Now that's done now. You can see there's a little bit of space that I left open. I went up with the second mid-tone up to that line. Now. What I'm gon na do is take that first color again and blend this downwards to fill in any gaps that there are. Are you doing any sort of melts? You want to melt it in the direction that the color is gon na be going into. So I want to melt it downwards and that's why I wanted to not do all of the dark to start and again same thing, make sure you're spreading it open so that you can paint underneath the band right in between now. I'M gon na flip it over and do the same on the top on the other side, and then I'm gon na come back and we'll show you how to do the bottom. Here are the extensions done. You can see that they're melted the dark into the mid-tone. If that, and if I pull out you can see that the gradient is nice and just crazy, this is just hopefully not playing perfectly, but if you open it up, you can see that it's just really diseased and there's no harsh lines of where it starts or Stops now, I'm gon na go ahead and paint on the color on the ends, and I will show you what it looks like when it is all done. Actually, I'm gon na show you how I'm painting with this you don't have to be as careful. You can. Just slap on the color and make sure that when you're painting the extensions to really fat out the hair to get out the get all the color inside as well. Because you want it to be a hundred percent colored and 100 percent saturated. And then, when you finish one side, just flip it over and do the other side make sure it's fully saturated all the way through, let it process I find. Sometimes you got to check the color. Sometimes it might need to process a little bit longer. It'S just a touch longer, maybe five or ten minutes longer than natural processing time. I don't really know why it's not always the case, sometimes I'm being able to rinse it with the regular manufacturers time. Sometimes I'll. Look at it and it'll still look a little bit transparent, so I just leave it for a little bit longer. All that being said, you don't want to leave it on too long, because extension here really shouldn't be colored, I'm using a Demi. So I've never really had an issue, but it's definitely not something that you want to leave sitting on for a really long time, because it's going to ruin the in Haggerty of the extension I'm going to flip it over and do the theme on the other side. So thank you for watching today's video, I'm so excited for you to go home and try that on your own clients, I hope it made sense if you having a clash, any questions just leave a comment below we will get back to.
