Dyeing My Human Hair Wig With My Mum!! Can We Pull It Off?

Welcome to another alopecia blog welcome work and welcome back to another wonderful alopecia blog yeah day. I am going to be dyeing my wig now I am by no means saying that this is a good idea to do my wigs, a human hair. Wigs. They are not meant to be dyed, however. I'M going to put a picture up here. This wick has now gotten to a point where it's so light. It'S making me feel a little, not like myself. I much prefer it when my wigs of darker, though I have dyed my wigs in the past, and it has gone reasonably well, and it went well last time and I've always done it with my mum, because she knows far more about hair dye than I do. And we use a semi-permanent dye, so we don't use a permanent dye, but this video is all about the process of me doing my wig. Now, unfortunately, in some parts of the video, the lighting is not brilliant and that's just because of the lighting in my bathroom. You can see the process and we talk you through it. I haven't put my mum on camera, but you can hear her Fuu, let's go so this is the current color on the wig and as we can see, it's really light reason that we're gon na dye. It is because of her Karen because I'm not happy with the color anymore, but and doing it with my mom, because my mom understands hair dye. I do not, and I wouldn't recommend trying it yourself unless you were happy to lose the wig, but we know that this works. Don'T we've done it before we have. It was a few years back now, but it will dye the base. It will dye the color of the base and we did try it on a week that we didn't mind losing yeah. We did try it on a window that we were accepting. If it went really badly wrong, then that would be okay, so I am a little bit nervous, but I think it'll be alright. I think we should get going so the first thing we've done it so that's shermanus is we've put a big towel, a big brown towel all over. This is a stall on here and all over the floor as well, so that when the dye down it won't stain the floor. So let's put the work on here: hey we're going to be using this. This is nice and easy number. Seven, six five and medium brown recommend going not dark brown. If you wanted to dark brown, wig start light and then go dark, and this is also semi-permanent. So it is not permanent dye. Its semi-permanent yeah and it'll wash out in 24 shampoos, so everything goes wrong. Then 24 shampoos ater will be back again. This is exciting, isn't it that's the conditioner? Okay, these are the two chemicals you mix together right so well, then we put this white liquid in with that blue one moment of blue rinse. No, it's just a blue bottle. Okay, blue bottle, so that liquid into the white liquid does the wig need to be wet. No bleach must be dry and clean. It'S both of those things. Okay, it's just out of wash you had a wash on Tuesday. Normally, you would put the spouts onto your hair, you get it into the roots, but of course you don't want to damage to the base spreading it out. First of all, then we can make sure we've got ta tell you, you don't want to miss anything yeah. If you miss something, you'll get the strength, so when you're doing the wig, am i right in saying that you don't want to massage it into the hair? Do you you don't want to massage it into the scalp, because you might first of all weaken the base and weak and the knots know, and these wigs, because they've got such a lovely, delicate base, not really designed to do lots with them yeah. So we won't recommend doing this a lot. We know you wouldn't need to do it or not. These these dyes tend to stay in the hair much longer than they say on the instructions, and would be aware of the fact that at no point have we been advised that this is a good idea. Oh no nobody's told us. This is a good idea. It'S only that we tried it once before on a weekly didn't mind losing and it worked yeah. So we are at peace with the idea that we may lose this one, absolutely yeah. You have to be just in case yeah, but so if we didn't lose it last time, so we'd have to be very unlucky to lose it. This time you just have to remember that it takes longer than doing hair on a on a head, because you can't massage it you've got to just rub it and make sure it's there. So that motion that you do now is just trying to make sure that it gets into everything, because if you don't get it into everything, you'll end up with streaks. Remember that once you leave color you've put up and the old color that you had okay. So this has been in for 15 minutes now. It'S had the dawn of 50 minutes. Now we rinse. Are you ready and once you rinse, that wig off and then put the conditioner on that's the conditioner and obviously try not to go too far into the root? Don'T go all the way up to the root line. Is it that's it? That'S. It mom put the conditioner on to it. Now we leave that for 10 minutes and then, after that, we wash it. What would you say but is important about the washing your insert? Are you tossed thoroughly rinse it thoroughly till it runs clear? The water is supposed to run clear afterwards. Yes, because otherwise, as you dry it and it drips, it will drip color all over the place. Okay and if you're going to be wearing the wig Wireless down, which I wouldn't advise that you do anyway, because that'd be really uncomfortable. But if you are planning on wearing the wig while it's damp, then you should wear a black t-shirt. Yes, because the color might drip so don't wear like a like coyote shirt or something like that and the first couple of times after washing it. I would also do the same because sometimes you get a little bit of a brown tinge. Okay, good advice, not that this is something that I would advise that you do anyway. You wouldn't do this very often, even if you wanted to do it, okay, so it's a little bit lighter now and one of the main challenges of dyeing the wig is that the massaging motion that goes into the wig can be quite problematic. I'Ve just spent the last 40 minutes untangling knots in the wig because of the motion that you need to do in order to put the dye through the wig, but it is untangled. This is the color of it at the moment, while it's wet, I'm gon na put it under a light after it's dry, so you can see the difference, but this is what it looks like at the moment. Oh hey! This is what it looks like now and we can see such a big color change. I'M gon na put this on a now. It probably needs a little bit of styling. I feel a lot happier I feel more. Like myself, I also feel like when my hair is dark. I need less makeup because I feel like it suits my complexion better now. This is obviously very dark at the moment, but that's because it's just been dyed. So, over a period of time it will fade away with washes. We can see that the mesh of the base taken on the hair dye Carles light, I feel like someone - is really upset about me dying. My wig I've got a new wig, I'm really pleased and I really love it. I think it looks cool and I can't wait to style it a bit better and it look great so yeah I'm really excited. So I hope that you enjoyed this video.
