A B O U T M E:

I'm from NYC

I'm 21 years old

I am of Dominican and Haitian descent

My favorite color is pink

I have an obsession with makeup

Hey you guys welcome back to my channel today's video is a hair video, I'm gon na be showing you guys how I customized this wig and how I melted this baby down. So, let's get right into it. This wig is from a Ford hare. They sent me a 13 by 4 unit, it is 20 inches long and it is a hundred and eighty percent density. The wig is also REME hair and it is very silky very thick. It doesn't have much tangling at all to be honest and the dye job on this is pretty good. It also comes pre plucked, but I'm gon na go ahead and pluck it some more to my liking and the knots are not bleached. So you're gon na see me bleach them in this video. Like I said, this is a 13 by 4 wig, but I want to talk about this wigs construction a little bit, so the wig comes with about four Clips here, which is pretty standard, but it also comes with these little elastic band, extender things which I like To call the bra straps cuz it technically is a bra strap for your wig, but I want to get into this lace a little bit sweetie. So this week is constructed to where you have four inch parting space, all along your hairline and not just in the middle and I've been wearing wigs for a long long time. So if you have been wearing wigs too, you would know that in standard wigs on the sides, the parting is a little bit shorter and I just wanted to bring one of my older wigs out for reference. So this is my wig from African Maul and, as you can see on the sides, don't don't mind the wig. It is dirty sweetie, but this is a 13 by 6 wig, but on the sides it has somewhat of like a 2 inch parting space and in the middle of course, it's 6 inches. And I just really like the fact that, with a Ford hair, they have 4 inches all around. If you order a 13 by 4 inch wig, you are getting 13 by 4 all around and the cap size is 22 inches, but it's also very stretchy, and you do have these two extra straps in the back, so you are secured. So now we're going to talk about what comes inside the box. The hair comes wrapped inside of this plastic bag, which also tells you the details of the hair that you've purchased. So mines is 13 by 4. It is 20 inches long and it is 880 density, and it also comes wrapped inside of this hairnet and it comes with this ball of paper inside, so it could protect the shape of the wig. It also comes with these wake caps and it comes in a pack of two and then you get these little bra straps, as I call them which you could attach to those pieces inside of the wig, and they also put some lashes in the box as well, And you know when you usually get hair and it comes with lashes. It comes with these rinky-dink synthetic lashes, but no afford here actually gives you mink lashes and you guys know how much I love some mink lashes and these are actually the lashes I'm rocking in the intro. So now we're gon na move on to actually customizing the wig. As I told you guys, these knots are not bleached, so that's what I'm gon na start off by doing to bleach them, I'm using quick blue bleach. This one container has lasted me a long time. I got it from my local beauty, supply store and I'm using 30 volume developer, which I also got from my local beauty, supply store and this mixing bowl and this little brush, which I got from Sally's now. I usually use about one scoop for my wigs, but since this is 13 by 4 inches all around which I love I'm going to be taking about a scoop and a half which was the perfect amount for this wig. Now I always eyeball my developer, so I can't tell you exactly how much I put in here but you're, looking for the consistency of a cake, frosting and you want to make sure it is not runny. Next, I'm going to apply a thick, even layer of that bleach, all across the lace, and I let it sit for about 30 to 45 minutes after it was done processing I rinsed the bleach out and I'm gon na wash it with this Tresemme shampoo. Just to make sure the wig is clean and that the bleaching process has stopped so after bleaching. This is how the scalp looks. It'S very reddish, orange and very brassy, and we don't like that. So I'm gon na go ahead and tone the knots and I'm gon na tone the hair, at the same time with the shimmer lights Shampoo after coating the hair in that shampoo. I left it on for about 10 minutes to get rid of the brassiness and not only the knots but the hair itself, and then I rinsed it out - and I felt like this just gave the hair a better look overall. Next, I'm gon na go in with my secret weapon, which is the silicon mix. You guys know. I absolutely love this. I did a review on this years ago and they have this pearl line, which I absolutely love. I do this to all of my wigs. It makes them really soft and silky, so I definitely suggest that you guys try this on some of your wigs. So this is how the hair looks after bleaching and toning. I also did take some time off of camera to pluck the frontal to my liking, and I also did do some light layers in there. I also did accidentally get like one little drop of black dye on there, which I didn't realize until this point, so it wasn't that noticeable. So I didn't really mind it that much so I left it as is so. This is how the wig looks on my head and, as you could tell, the lace is pretty much seamless, honestly, it's a medium brown lace, but just to be sure I did go ahead and add some foundation anyways to the lace and my wig cap. So now we're gon na move on to the installation. I'Ve been a very, very big fan of Erika G's hold me down line when it comes to installing my wigs I've been using it for about maybe 2 or 3 months now, so I definitely recommend her products and I'll leave a link down below to where you Could purchase her products, but what I just applied on my forehead was her holding me down spray. This makes sure your wig does not go anywhere, but I'm a person that sweats a lot and I get really oily. So I need like double or triple protection, so I go in with the Walker tapes thick Scout protector and I go in with about two to three layers of this and this just acts as a barrier between my skin and the lace. Now I'm going to cut the lace, I had trouble doing this on camera because I like to be really close to a mirror. When I do this, so I did majority of it off-camera. But I just wanted you guys to see how well that lace blends in with my skin now that we're done cutting the lace. I can move on to the next step and I like to apply some guts to be a glute spray to the lace. I feel like it just helps. It adhere to the glue better and for my glue, of course, I'm going in with the Erica J hold me down glue. I go in with about five layers for each section that I do, but I only show two because I didn't want this video to be really really long, so I'm just gon na. Let you guys watch me apply these layers, okay. So this is how my hair looks after I apply the wig. I think it looks so so good and we didn't even melt it yet baby. We just applied the wig so now we're gon na move on to the next step. I'M gon na part my hair, the way that I want it, so I'm just going for a middle part today and once I have my part down, I'm gon na go on with the Ericka J. Frizz, bully wax, stick and just make sure there's no flyaways, and also this will just hold my part in place until I'm ready to a hot comb in next, I'm going to take out my baby hairs and I'm going for some pretty dramatic baby hairs today. Now that I have my baby hairs parted out and I look crazy as hell, I'm gon na take the fluff stuff, styling foam and just put that along the edges of the wig and make sure everything is laid down. Because next I'm going to apply the elastic band, so it could really really melt. So after I put on that elastic band, I go in with my blow dryer and I put it on low heat, and this is how you get the melt. I apply this heat until everything is fully dried down and then, when I take it off, you're gon na see that melt baby. Look at that melt, whoo girl. Can you find lace cuz? I surely cannot now for my baby hairs, I like to cut them in sections, and I start off long and then I go shorter and shorter until I like what I see after cutting them, I like to take my edge brush and without any mousse, just make Little swoops here and there to see if I need to cut the edges down a little more after I cut the baby hairs and mapped out where I want them to lay that's. When I take the fluff stuff, styling foam - and I really start to mold down my baby hairs now that my baby hairs are laid, I take the frisbee Lee wax take one more time along the edges of my hair and I'm just gon na go ahead and Hot comb them back and hot comb, my part as well. Next, I'm going to define my part. I start by tweezing it first and then I'm gon na take some concealer and run it down the part and the concealer I used was the la girl Pro concealer. In the shade cool tan, I just really got to give myself a pat on the back cuz. I really melted this lace, but we're gon na go ahead and use a satin scarf, so my baby hairs could dry down and mold and I'm gon na come back with the final look. This is the finished. Look you guys. I hope you guys enjoyed watching me. Customize and install this hair from a forward hair. This hair is so soft and it was so easy to work with.
