How I Added Roots To My Synthetic Wig ~ Beauty Supply Haul

I used my Bic black marker and my Copic marker in Cocoa Brown.

Hey guys, um, I had a couple people ask me to show how I added roots to my Vivica Fox wig. Now I know in this lighting I have one of those daylight bulbs in my bathroom and it makes the color look a little purple, which it isn't. It'S just the the effect of that light, so these are the two markers that I used. I used my BIC marker first in black. It'S just a this is the ultrafine point, and then I had gotten this Copic marker, which is an artist grade marker. I got this at Michael's and I don't know how much it was you can use Prisma colors. Also. This is in e 74, which is cocoa brown. What'S nice about the kopecks, is they have two different size tips, one on either end, and these are refillable just in case you wanted to know so this has the thicker point to it, and this is the better point, and so I had tried just putting the Brown on first - and I didn't like how cold it looked. So I took the black and the first thing I did was. I just went in and colored the very center with the black and I'm a crafter and an artist. So I had the BIC markers anyway, but I didn't have any copetz and I have a few Prisma colors and I got those mostly for an art class that I did, but so I just took the black and the ultra finest takes forever. So I wouldn't suggest doing the ultra fine and then after that I went in, and I just did that pretty much in the center in that circle area, hi ducky and then I went in with the brown and I just started at the root or at the Center closure - and I just went around and just pulled it out a little bit to make it look pretty natural. You know I didn't want it to just be a circle. I wanted it to look like it was gradually coming out, and then I parted the hair, hi Dutch and I parted the hair. I didn't feel like I needed to go too far down, because this circle closure is pretty defined. I'M not gon na. You know really be able to part the hair any other way, and then I just kept doing this until I got it to the depth that I liked and you know, went under and parted and did some of the touch some of the hair is underneath. So you can see it, it adds some really nice dimension here things dry rather quickly, because where I live, it's considered an Arctic desert hi boo, but you know you just want to check in and see make sure it's dry, these typically dry, pretty quickly. They'Re an alcohol-based marker and therefore they do dry pretty quickly. So I really like the cocoa brown. I think that it, it looks quite realistic. It has enough it's a cool tone Brown, but it has enough warmth in it to make it look pretty natural. When you put it on the hair, so that is how I did the roots on this Vivica Fox wig. One thing that I noticed after I got home and tried it on was that it's very thin and you can see I put it on and you know I did that video and then after the video I turn the camera off and I was looking at it In the mirror - and I noticed how thin it is, you can see the wefts right through the hair. So at this point I don't consider it to be wearable. Oh, if you want to when you're done, I found that it was my drawer. If you want to you know, you can just kind of comb the marker, the ink through the hair, and I think it looks really nice. I think it looks very natural so, except for the purple cast that's coming off of that lightbulb because I had watch. I don't love her YouTube, her new name, her name is were now, but she had talked about using the roof, an see full. She uses the rinse. Leslie didn't have any of the rinse, so I got the mousse. I got the frivolous fun which I used a lot in beauty school. A lot of the older ladies used frivolous fun, and then I got silver lining, for I have some wigs coming that I'm afraid might be a little too boys hair and she had these. For 15 dollars a pack, she got them on a special and it's human hair, and I just you know for memory, thought that this would blend in beautifully, and I think it will it's human hair. And this is how much came in the pack and it was only $ 15. So, oh yeah, I think that's gon na look really nice cuz, it's darker up here in the top and she still had a couple more packs in the event that I find that I need more so and then I got some thread and a needle that I've. Never done this before so maybe I'll try to do a video while I'm doing it and then oh yeah, and I got the the frivolous fawn to try to put some warmth into this wig and I think I'm gon na try to do a route on this. One too, but I think first, what I'll do is. I will color it with the frivolous fawn fanciful and this is temporary. It will, it will wash out, you can use it in your own hair. You can use it on your wigs and it will just wash out so that's how the ladies remember when we used to talk about the blue, haired lady little blue-haired, lady or purple, hair lady or green hair, lady. Well, that's how they got their hair to be. Those colors was because they would use these rinses and would just put too much on, and so their hair would come out funny colors! So - and this is not available in the professional beauty supply because it's not a professional product, but that's how I did the roots on the wig. So next I'm going to once I let dutchy out I'm going to go ahead and put the frivolous phone number 23 on this wig and see what we come up with and I'm hot you guys, I'm crazy! I am I'll show you this too, though, and then I bought this wig. It'S really pretty it's just synthetic and it's got this skin top, but it's long and curly and I just love the color and it actually looked pretty nice. When I did, you know, pulled it back half way so and it's nice and full. She had a sepia wig, but it was really thin like this is beautiful red colors, but it was really thin and I think that was a half way, because this can be used as a half week also, and so I'm not sure why they do that. If they just assume that you know your hair is gon na show through, I don't know, but anyway I will be back with the next video thanks for watching you guys bye,

junbug1029: Hi Sue, I have the Henry Margu wig conditioning spray that I use when it seems necessary. I did condition one of my wigs by soaking it in fabric softener (Downey) and water for a few minutes after washing it. Maybe that will help. xoxo Joan

junbug1029: Hi Darlene ~ Try using the cream on dry and dampened hair to see which works better. Use your fingers to place the hair the way you want. It might be easier if you are wearing it when you style it. You can use gel and hair spray too if you need. I don't have the Entice .....yet! xoxo Joan

Unlabeled: Ok..Im adding a visit to the art store tomorrow...lol...love this idea. I have a Raquel Welch Entice wig and love it but I do not know how to use the styling crm to make it look like the pix. Do I wet it first then use cream? Dry hair? Oh my...am I over my head on this wig adventure? A vid would be great if you're interested..(wink wink) Thanks DarJ

Marion de Wit: Hi, Thank you so much for this helpfull information......Looking forward to more tips and tricks.....

swethe1: Do you use any kind of spays like hair essences to soften, condition and provide moisture and Sheen? I have a few falls that I ware and I have to spray them everyday or they dry out. Sue from Texas

Willow: Hi. I used a brown furniture marker and rooted a blonde wig. How can I remove the purple hue from it? I don't think it's wearable with that purple hue. Thanks
