How I Dye My Roots And Brighten My Orange / Copper Hair

In this video I show you the process of me refreshing orange / copper hair and how I touch up my roots by dying them with only one process. I do this about once a month to keep my orange hair very bright so it stands out. There is no bleach involved and minimal damage to your hair. My hair is naturally curly about a 3b texture. There was no damage to my curls during the process :) This process will keep your ginger hair vibrant for a long time without causing any damage.

TALK TO ME

Insta: 199v

Hey guys, so you can see from the title below that today i'll be touching up my roots and refreshing my ends, so i dye my hair about every month, but just the roots - and i also put like a non-chemical dye on my ends just to refresh them, Because i've noticed my hair gets more dull like right now to me this is super dull. I like it when it's a little bit brighter and yeah all that good stuff. Okay. So if you watched my first video of me originally dyeing my hair, you know i used to use sizzling copper by high color um. I now switch to using high color highlights copper because it's a little bit brighter and it changes my hair in one step. It'S better than dyeing it twice, so i just use the high color copper on my roots and it dies in one die and i, yes, i do use developer with it. So first things: first, i'm going to put on my gloves. So i have a lot of hair, so i use the whole tube for my roots, um. If your hair is a little bit thinner or whatever you can probably not use the whole thing you'll know, but i definitely have to use the whole tube. So the high color highlight tube is is way smaller than the actual regular high color tubes, because i'm sure they're only meant for highlights, but it works wonders with dyeing hair. So i just use it as hair dye. Oh another tip: you want to wear a shirt that you don't mind dying, so i'm wearing my transformer shirt that i wear to bed so yeah. Okay, so the box says to mix 2.4 fluid ounces of developer with the die and the die is 1.2. So, basically you're going to double the developer, to how much dye you put into the thing okay. So this is how you know you have the high color highlight color instead of the regular color, because it comes out orange already and the other high color just comes out white and it turns colors later so my dye is mixed. It just looks like this looks. Like bright orange and it's not too runny, but not too thick either, and i mixed it with 30 volume developer. I use this one from sally's beauty. Mine looks crazy because i don't make orange all the time, but i know last video. Apparently i didn't show what i was using, so this is it okay, so next step i do, is i start from the back, so i just separate my hair into sections and start applying the dye to my roots. So you can see. I have like a fair amount of new growth and the last time i dyed my hair um, i tried to use a different dye for my wrist and it didn't bring it as light as it needed to be. So that's just going to be a little bit of a challenge like you can see. Right here was the last time i tried to do it and it just didn't work, but it's because i used some different dyes. So this is the real dye you have to use is the only thing that has worked for me in one shot, so yeah i'm going to show you guys how i do it. I just um dye the bottom roots around the bottom of my head and then i separate so i will show you what i mean. So i take this eye and i just i hope, i'm close and centered. I just add it to the root okay. So once that bottom layer is done, then i just start going through my hair in layers. Basically, so i just separate the bottom layer: oh my god, my hair is super tangled, actually because i haven't washed it in a while applying it to the roots. I make sure that it has enough where i can like squish the root down and it feels like wet, and then i just do the top layer above those roots as well, so everything i know is really covered also. This is probably like super messy, but you know i can't see so i just have to hope when i'm doing the back and then to make sure it goes through, like i just separated to see if all the roots are covered, if not i'll just add some More and then once i reach like just this very front section of my hair, i do it a little different just so i know it's 100 covered, because this is that part of my hair that everybody sees so basically how to do the front now is i Just do the same thing but sideways cover it separate it, and these sections i do are definitely way smaller than the ones in the back, because i want to make sure everything gets fully covered. Okay, so, while my hair is processing with the dye for my end, color the ends or whatever you know that for the color for the rest of my hair to refresh it, i basically take like three pumps of conditioner. I just use this. You can use any conditioner, you want. Actually i'm lying. I do like six pumps of conditioner just to give me a little bit of a base, because my hair, like absorbs stuff super quickly, and then i use two separate colors. So i use these creative image adore colors, i'm using the color orange blaze and cajun spice. So i used to use cajun spice only, but it's a little bit too dark. If you can see - and then orange is definitely too bright. But when you mix these two together, it's like the perfect combination. So basically all i do. I don't really measure um. I just squeeze it into my dye bowl. This is cajun spice, so i did about three squeezes of that and then i'm gon na do orange. Blaze did about three squeezes of that, and then i stir it around okay, and then i get this super dark mixture of orange, and i just rub that on the rest of my hair. So it comes out a little bit darker on your hair, but once it rinses it it like gets brighter, so you don't have to be too alarmed um and since this is like non-toxic no chemicals whatever i just apply it with my hands, just apply it with My hands like scoop up a bunch and just freaking, put it on my hair, okay and then, once my hair is all covered with that mixture, i just put it up into a bun again and let everything process. So again i don't know the exact time i leave everything in for because i just wait for my roots to look like they've changed color. But if i had to guess i would say it's about 35 to 40 minutes that it takes for my hair to change. But it really depends on your like hair type and everything like that. So just basically watch your root color and see how it's changing and if it's changing fast and you can rinse it out faster and if it's changing slow, then you're. Obviously, gon na have to wait a little bit longer. Okay, so really would it be a video of mine if my camera didn't die like midway through the video which, like you know, i'm i need to just start charging you enough, but anyways um. This is the final result. I don't know if you can tell about my actual hair color, but it's definitely brighter than it was before um. You can see the roots show you they dyed to the same colors, my hair, to match with just one dye. So this is how you can do everything in one process. The high color highlights works, really good and it doesn't even burn. Your head sometimes burn my head because my i guess my scalp is sensitive, but you know it doesn't burn your head or anything and it changes your hair, color, really quick um. I also did go in and dye my eyebrows, which you guys didn't see on camera because, honestly for your eyebrow again, you have to die in like two seconds or i'll still turn out too blonde or burn off or something you know. So i didn't really record it, but if you do want to see me like a full, in-depth video of how i dry my eyebrows or how i bleach my eyebrows, then just let me know in the comments below and i will actually try to film them. For you, so one thing i will mention about the adore dye, though, is that your hair is darker for, like the first two washes, and then it fades to like a really bright color, and then it slowly starts to fade back to that dull color. My hair was before my siblings and stuff say they can't tell when i refresh my hair, but honestly i can tell percent different. Also some questions from my last video, where i was dying, my hair that i was gon na answer. Real quick people were saying that if my hair was any, if i noticed, was it any more damaged when i dyed my hair um honestly, i didn't personally notice any damage to my hair and they said. Did i lose curl pattern or anything i really didn't. If you guys can see my hair still like really curly, i do have spots on my hair that are wavy, but that's just how my hair grows um. I feel like honestly, it's a little bit easier to take care of when it's dyed, because it becomes more porous and it absorbs products better. And i, like my hair products without you, know, deep conditioning for a really long time and stuff. But i'm just gon na give you a quick look at my hair dye, my roots, the back, but i think that's it honestly uh! You guys should, let me know if you want me to do any other hair, tutorials or any other like videos that you want to see and let me know in the comments below, and i will see you my next one

Should i just follow your routine? or should i use developer and dye my whole hair with the adore colours?

below_et _almost: Thanks for showing us how to refresh hair! Your hair looks beautiful. I’ve done the initial dye before, but not a refresh with bleaching my roots, and I don’t wanna mess it up, so this gave me some confidence.

Amoni: This turned out soooo cute! My roots are black and the rest of my hair is lifted to blonde. Could I apply the HiColor to my roots and then go in with a semi permanent on the rest of my hair? It’s kind of exactly what you did but I’m not sure if it makes a difference being that my hair is blonde, but my roots are my virgin hair color!

prettylyricsmarie: Thank you for the inspiration. I have 3C hair, and I needed a video, to watch, to learn to dye my hair, red orange. Do you dye your eyebrows too?

Daisy Gonzalez: Hi girl i have a question for you ..How often can you do the conditioner mix with the adore product can you do it everyday or only when you need to brighten it up ( when you do your roots?)

‘][': Gorgeous!! Thanx for sharing.

Gigi F.: I tried this today and followed everything you did exactly but my roots came out extremely orange and the rest of my hair alot darker =(((

Voomxo: Thank You for doing this!!!!!!!!

Baeee Teee: Hey I just want to understand well, I have dark brown hair similar to urs when u first dyed it. And for my first time dying it should I use the hicolor copper highlights (the one u used on this video) with developer on my whole head and be done ? Also would I be okay not using the adore semi permanent dyes cause I don’t think u used them on your first video? What is their use? Thank you :)

Soggy Scrumptious Socks: You kinda look like Merida from brave and the copper looks really good on you.

Sadya Zoha: Would you recommend this dye for the rest of your hair as well?

zoe georgiou: Thank you for your video. If my natural colour is like your roots, can i just use Hicolor hilights copper on my roots all over my head with 30 and will get the same results all over my head as your roots? I don't really want to bleach my hair.

ZsaZsaz Corner: If I dyed my hair the same way you did in this video, but have ombré hair, will it come out ass bright? Or is that only because your hair was already dyed previously?

Crystal Rodriguez: Loved this vid but please try showing the box a little longer <3

Myaaaa: okay so i’m new to hair dying so let’s say you have dark / black hair & you wanna get it to your color .. so would we mix the hicolor , developer , cajun spice , & the orange blaze together & then apply it to the hair ? :)

NappyInfancy: This colour IS Amazing I want to do it but I am scared to do it myselfz

thatlady pr: Loveeeee it

Queen Serap: Hi monique so do you recommend to go immediately for the hicolor highlights copper for the whole hair ? Or use the hicolor sizzling copper first and the other one just for the roots?

YasiaAliyah: Giiirrl this is YOUR COLORR!

syd alese: what products do you use for your brows?

Quinn Melvin: Sooo I'm coming from the loreal hicolor highlights in red and its faded out to a super gingery color except my midshalf is still a bit more candy apple color and I have virgin roots. I'm going to be using 30 volume developer and this dye.. what would you recommend doing first? My roots or the ends since they're already gingery? I dont have the option of doing a semi permanent dye on my ends since I have to even out the color because of my mid shaft color so I'd need to do it all over but to get the most even result I'm not sure what to start with first!

Ally Shears: Where do you buy the adore brand dye?

Miyoko Thornton: Should I follow this tutorial for my current hair? My hair black naturally with blonde ends because I bleached it 2 years ago. I’m wanting to go ginger but don’t want to bleach my hair again so this video is perfect! Just using the adore and the other one will make my naturally black hair ginger??

Coco Loco: How long did you leave the color in I have the hi lift copper with 40 volume here and want to put it all over mine!! Did highlights and want a big bold statement

DessiBad: Omg i want this color so bad im scared its not going to do right for me!!

Dacia Miller: Does this run after dying, rinsing Nd washing it.

Nyla Moody: How long did you leave the dye in tho? No one ever says how long ‍♀️ your beautiful boo by the way definitely subscribed!

Ariel D: Are we not gonna talk about how pretty she is <3 !!!

Luna Meows: Can you please do a video on how you bleach/dye your brows?

I Am KianaRoe: Can this work with the water coloring method ? Will it come out as vibrant?

Jessica Martinez: If I use the hicolor highlights copper on my full head will I get the same color like yours and can you please drop a skin care/ everyday makeup routine please

Jasmine Adrianna': So , before using the adore. (If our hair is dark) ..We wanna make sure our hair is already copper first by using the hicolor coppper?

Anna Akoto: this is everythinggggg

Melan Hayes: Is this an actual dye or a rinse ? Right now my hair is a burnt orange on the ends but this is the color I want to go all over.

zaria204: Why did you use conditioner? Was that a semi permanent?

Honey: If you want a ginger color without having to mix colors try the Adore color in the shade ginger

Shardae Marie: Love!!!!

Delilah Chaparro: U have beautiful hair nd color looks Nice on u

Michelle Peel: Im UK based and getting a hole of highcolour can be pricey especially for the cooper shades. Does anyone know a dude that could get me close to it?

Bonnie Lindsay: Nice job

Angel Burb: Gurlllllllll yass lets see how you dye your eyebrows

CurlyHair 1985: Your hair looks just like Janet when she had copper hair color
