Touching Up My Roots Red On Locs With No Bleach Using Splat Double Lift Permanent Hair Dye

Hey lovies i hope you enjoyed this video of me showing how i touch up my roots using the Splat double lift system. Its great for lightening virgin hair by a few levels and getting the color you want fast without the harmful effects of bleach. I used it on my new growth then retwisted my 4C locs and it came out looking pretty good for it being my first time using the product.

So, as you guys can see, my roots completely are grown out. I haven't retwisted my hair in so long. I haven't re-dyed my hair in about a month and i haven't lightened my um new growth since i first did this about a few months ago. So i'm just due for a whole pick-me-up, like you, can see this part of my hair looks super healthy, that's of course, because it's a virgin, hair untouched and super hydrated, and i love that for me, but we're gon na we're gon na do a little something To that anyway, and also you can see some of my parts, my hair that was previously bleached - is now completely like the strawberry blonde color. That looks super hideous right now, because it's not on my full head. This color is not horrible, but it's not good with what i'm working with so the back is also, as you can see, a little bit lightened as well. I just need to just do my hair, so i can look like a bad. You know um. My edges were thinning out before i'm not sure if that was stress related or if that had to do with the fact that i bleached my hair months ago, i'm not sure, but either way they've grown in pretty nicely. So i'm really excited i'm not going to be putting the color that i'm using today throughout my whole head. I'M really just doing a root touch up and i do have some backup dye that i used originally on the rest of my hair. Just in case this whole thing just totally like up honestly, i'm scared, but i'm excited at the same time, because yeah, i'm just excited so anyways to get into the color itself. It'S from the brass flat shout out to them again for sending me this uh. This color, they actually sent me a whole box of colors um, trying to think. If i should do a giveaway or not, i don't know who's really interested in dying their hair. I really don't know i probably will hold to get. I probably will host the giveaway on my instagram, so follow me if you're not already following me, i'll put the deets here same as my channel only at least tv, but yeah um anyways. This color is supposed to be double lift. So it's supposed to lighten your hair up to four levels without using bleach, and it also has aloe vera and soy protein in it. So it's supposed to be a little bit healthier than you know, coloring your hair with the traditional bleach and then color um option, and this is for dark hair. If you look here, it gives you a little a little key as to what your hair might look like, depending on the color so perfect. So this one here is what it would look like if you have dark hair, it's going to come out to this color and if you have like medium brown hair, it's going to come out to this color, i'm guessing mine is going to be more like this, Which i don't mind, because i kind of want it to look a little bit more natural and blend in with the rest of my hair. I don't want it to be super bright and then the rest of my hair just be all over the place, because it's already like that, because the other spots didn't take when i was doing the bleach in the first place, you know it's a hot mess right Here it's it's a pretty hot mess if that makes sense, so it's pretty, but it's still a hot mess. Oh, this is not good for people who already so like. I wouldn't put this on the parts that i already did, because it would damage it further and i don't think the color would work out the same. It'S also not meant for hair. That'S already been previously dyed like a really dark color. It'S just going to come out super weird and bleach. No, it's meant for, like version hair, like a version, you know never been bleached or dyed before type of hair. That'S why i can lift it in four levels, because virgin hair is usually very it's very easy to get to when it comes to like bleaching or any coloring in general, so um, that's that on that enough, chit chat. Let'S just start like, i said, i'm a little nervous. So let's read these directions, so i'm just gon na split my hair into two parts. It says four here, but honestly, i think two is just easier for me, because yeah, my hair is just different than the girl on the picture, so i'm just gon na do it into two parts. I'M gon na work with this side first and i'm praying that my nails don't get me. Okay, this looks wacky, i'm not trying to listen. I don't care, i'm not on this, i'm not being on this camera. Looking wacky, that's one thing: i will not do okay, so i'm just gon na put this in a nice little cute, ponytail right here and keep it nice and cute. That'S better um, because yeah i'm not about to get me okay, anyways! So i'm just gon na put the gloves on. I really hope that my nails don't get messed up, because i kind of just did them and i think they were really cute. Okay, so it says to cut the tip off of this and it says to pour the splat color cream this into it, and then it says to pour the color concentrate into the bottle. Also and then it basically says to put the cap back on and shake it up, alrighty. So that's what we're going to do right there we go all right. I cut the top off all right, so i did that and then i'm gon na cut this okay. So i'm pouring it in the bottle the best way that i can. Oh you guys. I really hope this comes out. Okay, because the girlies at my job will definitely hand my ass to me. They will. Let me know if i look crazy, okay, which i don't mind, because i prefer the realness over the thickness, but like we just got ta look fire this summer. I can't i can't look like an experiment like a failed experiment. Okay, that's what it's looking like. As you can see, it's starting to change colors already, so i'm gon na take the color concentrate now and i'm going to put that in there. Oh, this is the red part. Oh my gosh! This is a whole lot of red baby. Look at that. This is giving a little orange. I don't know this better, come out red, it just comes out orange. I'M gon na be absolutely mortified all right. So now i'm gon na put the cap back on this baby and i'm gon na shake it up. That'S what it looks like all right, so it's getting red it's getting very red. Luckily, like i said, my hair is dark, so i think if it lightens it, it's not gon na be too light like i said um, and it probably won't be that bad to correct. So i'm gon na put this on the roots. I'M gon na leave this on. I think it's set for 15 minutes. If i'm not mistaken. Oh my gosh, you guys. I hope this works out, because my edges just came in pretty nicely. Oh i'm gon na try my hardest, also not to put it on the parts that are already dyed. Like i said, okay, so i'm going to leave this on my hair for 15 minutes and come back. It says total processing time is supposed to be 45 minutes but, like i said, i'm only gon na do 15 come back check it and then see. If i need to leave it on um, it's tingling a little bit. So to me, that's a little concerning but, like i said, this is supposed to be something that is a little bit more healthy than traditional bleaching. So i think i'll be okay, anyways i'll, be back in like 15 minutes to check in to show you guys what it's looking like all right guys. So i am back out of the shower, and this is what we are working with. I forgot to mention. There was a color like there was a reconstructor in there. That'S supposed to be good, it's kind of like a leave-in conditioner for uh 20 minutes, or you can leave it in overnight and i put it in my hair um honestly. I don't know what to think you guys. Like honestly. I just feel, like i kind of feel like i didn't, leave it in for long enough, but at the same time i was scared because my scalp was tingling and i did not want to ruin my hair. But i feel like this part of my hair got brighter and then this part kind of got a little lighter. It has a red tint to it now, which i guess is cute because it matches my hair a little bit better um but yeah you guys. I don't know what to think. I feel like i kind of just wasted my time, because i didn't leave it in for long enough. One thing i will say is that it definitely colored the parts. If you look at this, it colored the part that was brassy before so. I guess that's good, that brassy color is gone um and, like i said it just has a little bit more of a red tint to it, which is cute. I think it's gon na look different and probably a little better after i dry it. By the way, i put a bunch of different oils in my hair, a bunch of different products in my hair, just because i always do that after i wash or dye my hair um. So what i'm going to do is retwist my hair, let it dry - and you guys will probably see me in two seconds for you but it'll be the next morning for me, so see you when i get back the next day, so you guys it is the Next day i know i look completely different. I did a full 180, but yeah i mean i kind of like the way that it came out came out very subtle. You can still see the tones of red in there um to me. I feel like it's a very orange-toned red, it's very warm! So, if you're not into like warm reds, i feel like the warmer the color the brighter. It is so i'm not really complaining about it too much because i feel like it looks natural, but at the same time it brightened this part of my hair, which kind of like frames my face. If you get what i'm saying it's kind of like this pops out and like it makes sense with like the rest of my face, i'm looking over at my mom by the way but yeah i just feel like it totally just it just came together at the End especially since i retwisted it i'm not mad at it. Honestly, i'm really not um. I think it's worth giving a try. I would suggest, leaving it on for longer, especially if you're looking for a more vibrant look. I also recommend doing it on like fully version hair. I feel like you'll, have better results and you'll get to see the true color for what it is me. I'Ve already bleached and dyed my hair, different parts and some parts took some parts didn't just happen to work out, but i feel like had i done it all at once, then maybe it would have came out to more even color and yeah. I just probably would have had different um results, so if you guys did enjoy this video, if you want to see more hair videos for me, let me know in the comment section below also give me a thumbs up and subscribe to my channel. xoxDarlinangelxox: Thank you for doing this review! I saw this product and I was wondering if it would really work. Been wanting to go purple, but not wanting to have to go through all the steps of bleaching first etc etc. So, it's nice to know I can do this all in one!

Tanisha Lewis: It came out super cute, I luv it ❤️
