Hey youtube Mitchell Z, I'm about to roller set, so I tried to keep my hair moist and ER this little baggy, because I'll be using magnetic rollers and different sizes, some medium and large they're, the ones with the snaps to cover the roller that helps to keep My hair smooth on the roller, so I'm going to take off the baggy now, so my hair is just damp. It was detangled in the shower after I washed and conditioned it. I also did a deep conditioning treatment. I went ahead and parted it into the sections. Then I'll be using during the roller set, so there's the section down the middle and the side sections, and I kept it in brace to keep it all stretched out to make it easier for me to comb because I'll be using a smaller tooth comb. Instead of a wide tooth comb in order to do each section in the beginning, here I'm trying to gauge to see if this part is the right size to fit on the roller, because if it's too wide, it won't work. First, I'm going to apply some leave-in conditioner today, I'm going to use the Garnier Fructis, it's a creamy leave-in, so I'll apply leave-in to the section first. This makes it a lot easier for using that smaller comb and combing out each section, and then, after that I go ahead and apply the I see Fantasia, it's a serum silicon based serum heat protectant, and I like to use that because I am going to spend About 90 minutes under the dryer and then afterwards I'm going to use a flat iron on my root. So I like to use heat protectant. So now I'm going to get my hair ready. This is the comb I'll be using. It was already detangled in the shower. So it is pretty easy to come at this point and the conditioner also helps now I'm measuring. So it's a little wide. I need to make it smaller, so I'm going to make a smaller part, take a little bit of hair out of this section. So that way, the hair will fit evenly on the side, the roller that I'm using that's better. Now, I'm going to part about an inch wide section. I don't want the sections to be too big, I'm using water, plain water in a bottle and I'm going to add some roller setting lotion by last --. I QP the design, silk and just a little bit, because I want it to be a diluted solution. This will help the curls last a little bit longer and gave me a good roller set. So I just shake it up and get it ready. Then I spray the section that I'm working on and I saturate it with my solution with magnetic rollers. What you're trying to do is take the wet hair and when you start to wrap the wet hair around the roller it'll attach to the roller. So I'm going to take a medium-size roller and start smoothing the ends of my hair around and I'm just going to keep using my fingers to smooth the hair onto the roller. And while I'm doing this, I'm also pulling my hair taut. So that it'll give a smooth set at the roots and just wind, the roller towards my head, then I'll take the snap and secure it with the snap. The reason why I like using the snaps is before without the snaps, my hair didn't stay as smooth, so the roller snap helps to keep that part of my hair smooth on the top of the rollers, and I'm just going to continue to go down this section. It'S sort of like a mohawk type, section, all the way down the center of my head and I'm just going to keep going down, making vertical parts and saturating each section before placing it on to the roller. So here we go! Oh, Oh you! Oh you!

Tanya Davis: That was awesome! I can't wait to stretch my hair in the fall. I'm going to do it exactly like you did it. Thanks so much!

Marjorie Winter: I absolutely love your natural hair! The roller set looks great too but your natural hair is just gorgeous! I've always adored the texture of African American hair but the closest I can get to it is crimping which is very damaging :( Great video, very helpful!

shook: I have really straight hair so the curls never work or last but when I followed the steps to your video it worked perfectly and lasted a whole eye day thank youuuu

Curls Undefined: Great video! Love your hair! I'm so glad I found ur video. I want to straighten my hair for my bday in October for a length check but I'm scared cuz last year I had it straightened and got heat damage from just that one time. Now I know I can use the rollers to stretch the ends and just flat iron my roots without having to worry about my heat damaged ends getting any worse :)

CurlyinColorado: For hair textures similar to mine, doing this technique while the hair is wet will create smooth curls. If the hair is already a straight texture then the Roller set can be done using a styling aid like mousse or a spritz of water / product. HTH :)

CurlyinColorado: I have seen ladies who, no matter what size roller they use, they were able to achieve smoother roots. I think it depends on the amount of tension and how much hair is sectioned for each roller. I'm still working on my technique so hopefully one day I'll be able to roll and wrap without the flat iron step. Thanks for watching! :)

SweetLady C: Wow it came out really great!!!! I've been using perm rods to set my hair so I can avoid blow drying to get some stretch. This however, looks much much better! I need to go buy some magnetic rollers :) thank you for sharing!

Love Kamila: your hair is absolutely beautiful, i would hope to some day have my hair like that and all flowy, natural for a year, make me want a rollerset even more :)

LBellatrix: This took me back down memory lane...it's been years...I used to SWEAR by this method (using these exact same rollers) for getting my natural hair almost straight. I always had issues with my coily ends though; unlike yours they never wanted to lay flat on the roller. Thinking about running out and getting some magnetic rollers...thanks! :)

CurlyinColorado: Thanks! This took me a long time to get the hang of but it's starting to get easier.

CurlyinColorado: Usually the curls can last 3 days for me without too much effort. If I use rollers each night though it can go for longer. Usually by day 3 though I start to wear my hair up in a curly pony puff. The roller set just makes my hair a lot more manageable so it's a lot of fun to style my hair afterwards. I would say the frizz is minimal. Thanks for the comment :)

Rahel Y: Great tutorial, it came out great and you look gorgeous.

Leneisha White: Wow! Your hair was so bouncy and full!!! Beautiful! I love it :)

latia4u: That came out great! Loving it!

CurlyinColorado: I have tried it with ponytail holders and still got wavy roots so I'll have to check that out. Thanks for the suggestion! :)

NanTheGoldChild: Thanks I'm going to use this technique on our natural hair!

brnize1969: I love it mitchellzee...Your hair was so voluminous, fluffy! I definitely have to get a dryer.

Venus G.: Wow your hair turned out pretty good!!! It has a lot of volume to it! GREAT JOB!

Julie Mann: Hi. Great Tutorial!! Your hair looks pretty afterwards. I like the fact you put the video to your talking beside it-I wish more would do it that way. Thanks--in Colorado also.

kxlot79: Loved your set! Great tips!

D'ana D'amyka: Years later and still the best roller set on the YT!! Go girl, you and your hair look gorgeous!!

Savannah Mosshart: Great tutorial! Thank you!

CurlyinColorado: Thanks! I've seen other videos where the person also uses gel. When I use it to set my braid outs it helps to use a moisturizer underneath. I wonder if my curls would actually last longer that way...hmmm? Thanks for watching! :)

Smart Systa: Awesome idea about the rollers and how to maintain the snap on them. Your hair came out great!

MW99: Absolutely beautiful!

Crystal Hollins: Nice & full , I used to roll my hair many moons ago so many memories .

CurlyinColorado: No problem :) Thanks for watching! :)

melizzamelizza: Wooow, place the snap in the roller to keep it's shape. Never thought of that. I would be buying new rollers all the time because they seemed loose. Great video.

CurlyinColorado: No problem, I'm glad you liked it. Let me know how it turns out. :)

Uchechi Chukwu: I really love the softness of your hair. What kind of Shampoo would you recommend? Btw, I really love your hair, and this video <3

tamoniva12: Very pretty. Great results.

CurlyinColorado: I spritz my hair with water throughout the process and feel like my hair is sticking to the roller. The extra smoothing has given me better results though. Thanks for the comment. :)

Lisa Gaines: That is lovely..I love 'dem curls and they are shinning too...I'm going to try that too when my hair gets longer..Thank you for the video tips!

Linda Moore: I know this is old but it’s one of my favorite roller set videos ❤️

Dummiip: Excellent demonstration and results

CurlyinColorado: I actually picked that up watching another video and it works. I'm still on the same set of rollers and have not had to repurchase.

GiftedCreativeArtist: Your hair turned out beautifully. I just saw another youtuber tuday who stretched her roots by banding them first (putting in ponytails) before rolling. I love your results, saw your reply to HandysKhandi and thought you might like to see her method. She's MsTasiaAsia. Thanks for sharing!

CurlyinColorado: Thanks! I've had this dryer for a while. I purchased it at Sally's for 40 bucks.

UTubeuzername: Great idea doing a roller set with the magnetic rollers and clips and flatiron the roots! I

Tamar Price: Just a tip . . Roll the front rollers in the opposite direction (as in away from your face). You will definitely see a better result. Good tutorial!

lifeestrange: Beautiful!

W Washington: I Love the volume. Thanks for sharing, Great Job! :-)

pamrosina: Beautiful!

Williams J: Your hair came out lovely

Denise Collins: This video is 7 yrs old but you did a great job and it looked so nice on you.

L Paulino: It looks wonderful you should try edge control by ORS for the edges.

CurlyinColorado: I usually will use my satin rollers or pin curls because they're both easier to sleep on.

Jennifer Okudo: That came out great your good with styling it tip comb the back heir a bit more and you'll see a better result you'll end up with full smooth curly hair but very nice it beautifull

CurlyinColorado: Thanks! Glad you liked it :)

Crayola Tina Beana: she be hooking it up! I wanna learn how to do this soo bad idk why it's soo hard for me

CurlyinColorado: Thanks for the tip!

CurlyinColorado: Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. :)

Jackie Toye: rGeat job! Thanks for the How To post.

Joe Fox: Girl you did that!!

HandysKhandi: if u use larger rollers do u still have to flat iron the roots?

Capelli Care: Great job! Next time try Hourglass and Halo Rollers!

CurlyinColorado: Thanks so much! :)

teeahtate: very pretty. i am going to try this.

WonderfulJourney78: how do you plan to wear your hair? are going to pin curl it at night? you did an excellent job.

Margherita Ladyleopard: wow *-* love it

josephine richardson: Nice hair, enjoyable video!

cynthia Denise: After watching this video I'm definitely going to try a roller set TONIGHT

IveMarMer: Where did you find the jumbo magnetic rollers?. I can’t find them anywhere

musigirl11: Using magnetic roller and if the hair is wet enough it wont take much work to smoothe the ends onto the roller, they are supposed to stick to the hair completely flat,

Ladi'L: Great video!

Stacey Williams: pretty done very nice

Lsoon: What's the point in the magnetic part? I've seen snap on covers for rollers that work without being magnetic.

pepi everage: Very nice what was the leave in conditioner you used ?

Sky Fearless: Awesomeness!

Cara Deculo: does it have to be wet??

constance gomez: Your video the best rollerset on kinky hair!

CurlyinColorado: Thanks!

CurlyinColorado: Thanks!

CurlyinColorado: Thanks!

CurlyinColorado: Que? Wouldn't that slow down the drying time? Don't think I've ever seen a roller set done using a satin scarf to cover the rollers. I use a heat protectant serum and that works for me.

Mary Mannah: That's nice !

✨BeautifulBlackCouple1967✨: I also love the music in the background too.♥️

Ms Options: I am in transition from relaxed to natural hair.  I have been a bit nervous about the process, but your video have made me less apprehnsive. I have the exact hair-type as you (have watched many videos but your hair was a perfect hair-type match to mine), and the results of your 'wash-n-set'  technique has encouraged me to  continue on my journey.  I am 4 months into growing my hair to its natural state.  I keep a box of relaxer on the ready just in case I want to revert, but I think your video just gave me another reason not to open that box.

25sexyeducatedthang: Looks good, but I would not use heat because I wouldn't want to mess up my curl pattern.....

Tae Azaria: Girrrrlllll you did the dang thang!

lorettalynn Davis: GORGEOUS!

Vannasgran 617: How many days did this last?

CurlyinColorado: Cool!

CurlyinColorado: Cool!

Tan M: good job

✨BeautifulBlackCouple1967✨: I love your wedding ring.

Bee Jackson: I love the body. Good job

missylangluv: you are so naturally beautiful

SOO'K: Nice

Simone Mercedes Mayers: What number and letter would you say your hair type is?

RelativelyIntoverted: U'm stealing that roller tip

Crayola Tina Beana: but what if I work out wouldn't this puff up??

CurlyinColorado: I use an Ion dryer that I purchased at Sally's for like $40 bucks 5 years ago. It's ok but the back of my hair always takes forever to dry.

musigirl11: Mitchel your hair was not wet enough, I grew up usung

Jai Bennett: Cute n ez

Seasoned Sofisticate: What ever happened to her? Did she just stop YouTube cold???

W Washington: Looks
