How To Do A 90S Inspired Box Braids Bob

Hey my beautiful people, so today i am going to show you guys how i did these 90 inspired box braids, and i got that little pop of color. Now these are about a week and a half old. So you know my roots are stunning: they start on the wall, but i'm gon na show you guys how i did this so stay tuned. Okay, guys! So i'm going to give you guys a quick refresher. I do have a video already up from like a year and a half ago um when i first did my box braids, but you guys know i've done it a few times since then. So i've gotten better at the technique. I want to give you a little quick update, but if you are new here or you've been watching my videos - and you have yet to hit that subscribe button in that bell button go ahead because girl, you could be missing out. You don't want to miss out when i know what's going on so i'm taking the bottom of my finger and i'm taking that to measure out how much hair i need to use. I also want to add a little color into my hair because i always want to do color, but i stayed away from it um just because before 2020 i was doing like a lot of interviewing um. I was in college and was doing internships, so i tried to keep my hair pretty close to my natural hair, color um, but i'm kind of starting to get a little out. I love this reddish brown. I really want to do burgundy, but then i saw this red reddish brown. That kind of gave me more like a little cinnamon vibe and i was like i kind of want to do this color. So that's what i picked. I might do a little burgundy for the summer. I don't know we're going we're gon na mix it up, but i love to always mix this with uh one. I am drawn to j blacks. I love j black. Now my hair is like a dark brown color, but i love me aj black yeah. I will put a black rinse on my hair, real quick, my favorite mix it with a little blue. That is my favorite like a blue black. Those are my color favorites. Okay. Has nothing to do with this video, but let's move on so to be honest, i'm not gon na lie. Your girl may have just a little copper tunnel, a little arthritis in her hands and a wrist and know arm. So i like to do for one, because i'm not good at gripping the rubber band method um, just because it's easier for me to grip around the ribbon. Also, it's easier for me to know how many braids that i'm going to have to braid and if you're not good at gripping, you can also do like the knotless or the rubber band and then crochet that here, hair in under your knot. You, like your first little ponytail, you know when people do not lose braids, they tend to braid their hair off into those sections or you can do rubber bands and just crochet under the rubber band and under the braid. If you're going to do not list and keep it pushing now, the thing you want to remember is hand placement. When you are doing braids, you want them to look uniform. This is normally why i start in the front, before my hand, starts to cramp up before it starts, hurt and all that good thing, because you have to have your hand in the same position going all the way down. This is going to create that uniform. Look! All the way down and that's what you're going for now once i get to the back, i'm not gon na lie. It is what it is, because my hand hurts, and that's about as good as it's gon na get okay, which you guys will see. It took me two days to do this only because it was already like five o'clock in the morning when i got done with the front of my head at this point after you know, sectioning off my hair into the rubber bands, all that good stuff. So you will see right now. The clothes change and i just started working on the back, and this is where i just try to make sure that i'm close to my roof. I'M not really as concerned when it comes to the back about hand. Placement, because i'm not going to play at this point my hand, really hurts i'm just trying to make sure that i'm close enough to the roots that it's not going to fall out or that it's not halfway down by the time. I finish braiding all the way to the bottom and your girl was watching. The girl new girl is a good show. Give me some suggestions. Like i love good haha laughing comedy shows, send me suggestions. Okay, your girl basically almost got every subscription service. Okay. So let me know so i did braid my hair a lot farther down than i had to, because i was not sure how short i wanted. My bob and i was like i'm thinking armpit length, but we will see. Maybe i want it longer. Maybe i want it shorter. Maybe i want to go up to my chin, who knows so? I just made sure i bring it down a lot farther and when i think of 90 braids, i always think about burnt ends. When i see burnt ends. It gives me 90s, i'm back in my childhood um, but i just thought about it now i don't know because i don't have the packaging anymore. I bought a lot of hair the first time or the first round right and i was like. Oh, i got enough hair, i think i could you know braid my hair one more time with what i have left, which i did. I braided my whole head all over again with what i had left, but i did throw the packaging away and i think this hair may be flame resistant and that's why i can get the whole 90s burnt in effect, but it is okay. I just decided to you know, put a rubber band down at the bottom um and go that route, and i was like if i don't like this, when you get to the end and i'm like, i don't like these rubber bands on my ends, i can always Go get those little gold, um braiding like clips and put those on the end, but i like it how it is i mean if i want a little arousal thousand, i could have did that. Basically, you know i have to go with my plan b and just put rubber bands on the end, because this hair is playing resistant or maybe it's i mean it could be, and i also may have not just left the lighter on my hair long enough. It'S all right, it is what it is guys we're not going to stress. It looks good, i love it. So what i did was that first strand that's in the front of my head. I went ahead and measured it to the length that i wanted to have it at, and then i cut it after. I put the ribbon on make sure you put the rubber band on first and then i took the next piece lined that up next to it. Put the rubber band on cut it, and i just did that all the way around my head. Well, not all the way around, so i would do. I did that one side. First and then i came back to the front, pulled the braid next to it. In the front with that first piece i cut so it would line up, and then i went all the way around and guys this was the look i loved it. I love it. My hair is still like this. I am in love, like my roots, a little something because i had to use a different product. I ran out of my favorite, but this is what i was going for. I was going for max shaw. I was trying to be living single. I just i love it. I feel like i feel, like your girl accomplished the goal. Let me know in the comments down below i feel like i did my thing.
