Attempting To Dye A Synthetic Wig With Alcohol Ink

These are things i just tell myself, so i don't freak out when it doesn't turn up. Okay, i won't guys welcome back to my channel today. We'Re gon na be dying a wig and i know it's been forever since i died a week like forever ever, but my wigs i have had for like two years and they're, starting to hang on by like three strands. So it's time for a new one and it's time for a new style and color, i feel like we went through the nicki minaj phase. We went through the doji cat phase, we went through the split die phase, and now i want to try something a little more. You know current i've been seeing a lot of like money, pieces, money, piece hairstyles, you know the gen z alternative stuff and you know i'm not gen z, but, like i still look young. So i'm going to try that today and today i'm going to try with alcohol inks and i remember a lot of the questions i got last time when i used alcoholic. I didn't really show you guys the process which was kind of messed up on my part, but i wasn't. It was my first time doing it. I didn't know how i was gon na run out, so we're gon na try that again here's the wig. This is the packaging it came in. I normally buy all my wigs from sam's beauty, but this time i was like i'm going to try an amazon movie, so this is the packaging that came in this week is very similar to the split die wig. I did, but i didn't really film that video for you guys i do have a short on it on my channel under my um wake dying playlist which, by the way, if you want to see the other wigs i've died, you could check that out, but yeah. This is the wig, it's just a blonde wig. It honestly feels like better quality than the wig i had before the thing i hate about amazon, wigs, which i noticed on a lot of people that wear amazon wigs is that they're really shiny, really shiny, really wicky and, like you, can see the shine and, like The other thing i hate about amazon wigs is like so this has the lace here and it has the combs in the front one in the back, but this lace is hard for one. I mean it's soft right here, but it's hard for one and it's like thick. So if you have a part here, you're gon na have to like pluck a lot versus the wigs from like sam's beauty, they're actually made to put on black women and like normally, when i put my hand here, i could see the color show through and that's How i know, if i put like foundation underneath it's going to show, i do y'all see that it looks. It looks like this color people, not this color people to me, like you, can't even see my hand color. So i don't know it doesn't feel like lace. It feels like it feels like it might as well just be a full sewn wig, not lace, because they're where's, the lace - i i don't see, lace so yeah, and then this wig does shed like a lot, but i feel, like all synthetically, shed every synthetic wig. I reviewed on my channel has shed a lot so yeah, that's the wig, and then these are the alcohol inks that i'm using and i have way more colors this time. I bought this kit from amazon. It was like 18 bucks and it has like. I don't want to make them fall, but it has a whole bunch of colors, so i haven't even figured out what color i want to do. I'M deciding between green and blue and purple and pink. I have not done a purple. Yes, i have. I have done a purple wig. I'Ve done a purple wig a blue wig, a pink wig. I haven't done a green wig, but i'm going to a party and i'm trying to decide if a green wig is the move for that, because i know that pink and purple really look good against my skin tone. So i don't know yet this time, i'm actually going to use alcohol with it. With this method, i know before i used um, i didn't use alcohol, i just squirted it on there and just massaged it through and honestly. That was a total waste of ink and it transferred onto my clothes, and i barely wear that wig now, even though it's so freaking pretty. So i got these gloves because alcohol ink does stain hella bad if you are allergic to latex, get vinyl gloves, and then i got this alcohol. I actually prefer 91 alcohol when i'm doing um week dying, but they only have 70.. I think this will work, though um when you're doing this. I feel, like i say this with every dyeing video when you're doing any type of thing using acrylic mixed with alcohol or alcohol mixed with alcohol. It causes harmful fumes. So especially those of us who have like a bad respiratory system, but i think either way you should wear a mask open. Your windows turn on the fan, make sure it's ventilated. If you have air conditioning turn it on. I know that um, it's cold in the winter, so turn your heat off and then open the windows and turn on the fan just to get some airflow and open the windows, because these things are strong. You want to make sure it's strong. I do not recommend doing this in a basement if you're in a warmer climate do this outside, i highly suggest do it outside, so i'm just going to do this and i'm going to do like a voiceover style video, because once again, i've never done this method. Before um, so i don't know how it's gon na go. Also, you need a bowl or a bucket to pour the ink in, and i would suggest doing a test strand first, which is what i'm about to do right now, to see kind of what color and what vibe i'm feeling and what ratio i'm feeling okay. This is how the wave looks on i feel like i look like jared, let over blonde, so i'm gon na part here yeah that seems right and y'all. If you don't know my videos, i have no rhyme or reason. Why do stuff? That'S why i shouldn't be doing tutorials. I just be doing it. Does that look good? Maybe we should make them smaller. This is all gon na go yeah um. So i did try the alcohol method and it worked. It was potent, but i tried to rinse it out after, like you guys suggested in my video like a year ago and yeah rinsing it out, do y'all, see color because rinsing it out took the color out, so i'm gon na try it again, but i have To tell y'all my sink is pink, my sink is pink and i ain't even fully dye yet so in my last video i did um put how to get. You know the die off of surfaces. I'M gon na put those links in this video as well as well as safety precautions when using alcohol ink as well as how to get dye off of your hands with those gloves. I ain't got none on my hands but yeah okay. So now, in my bathroom, these are the colors. I decided to use deep purple and grape this actually came out really pink um which shocked me. So i'm hoping this comes out darker i might have to use the violet. I don't know we'll see so when you open it, it's like that and then you just take this little thingy puncture it and then now you have color. So, what's so funny is, i am the queen of using what you got and all i have is a mop bucket. So i'm going to pour the mixture into here and dump that little look and then rinse will rinse the mop bucket out and then yeah that'll. Be it all right, so first, i'm pouring the alcohol in and then i'm just gon na pour the ink um. I really have no ratios to this. You could figure out the ratios before you start. I'M just a really touch and go experimental type. Um then i did a swish swish look at the wrist uh, yeah and um make sure you're putting on gloves. I said it a billion times, i'm saying it a billion times more because y'all aren't gon na sue me because your hands got up. Um yeah make sure you wear gloves also link in the bio i mean in the description to how to get stains out anyway, so um yeah, i started dunking the hair in um, yep and yeah. As you can see, that is pink. I was not happy with that because i really wanted a darker purple, so i thought let me pour some more ink in fix the ratios. You know: experiment um, yeah, then dunked it in, and you know what it was still pink a little frustrating, but it started to get a little darker at the bottom, so i'm like i'm getting somewhere, but i was shocked about how much hair got darker so anyway. I grabbed the violet, which i already predicted. I was gon na - have to use the violet, so i you know pour that violet in and i dunked the hair in and it got darker y'all it did, but the problem was um. It started to make this ombre effect, which i didn't mind. Actually i feel, like i tell my stuff that this is my stuff y'all, i'm sick. I tell myself this stuff, so i feel better, but yeah um. Another thing i noticed was: it was really hard to fill in all the gaps and get to the roots of the hair, and i don't know why i just could not get all the way up and distribute the product like. I normally could. I think it's because i didn't put the bucket in like a deeper basin, so i can really reach. I put it more so at like chest level. If i put it in like a bathtub or a deep sink, uh yeah, it probably would work better, but i did the best i could. I would just convince myself, you know blonde roots are okay, blind roots. Are fine, i can live with blind roots. These are things i just tell myself, so i don't freak out when it doesn't turn out the way. I won't so i'm gon na take a break and get some fresh air because it is like terrible in here and then i'm gon na come back. Now i got some fresh air. We'Re gon na go with the grate and do the same thing, but just to the top um. I'M gon na use less alcohol this time, because i want it to be a little bit more potent and then i'm just gon na mix the nice shoes in um. Okay, so y'all pharrell, you see all my business in this bathroom um. I apologize for that. But who am i talking to because y'all can't hear me, but anyway so yeah um, i'm just gon na dunk in the front, and this time i made sure to go roots first, because i don't do blonde like i don't do blonde roots. I don't do blonde baby hairs, they look good on so many girls. I am not one of them. Girls, uh, color roots, look good on me, but like so, i had to make sure that the roots were not going to be blonde. Like the mistake i made with the back and not starting with the front first in the back, if that makes sense anyway and yeah it was working out, it was looking real nice and pink and potent and yeah i really loved it. I loved how the pink turned out. That'S what really made me want to do the pink with the first test strand. I did that kind of felt, but it was working this time and, like i know when the roots are going to look good when i stain the lace, like i don't mind the stainless, because you can always fix that with foundation. Look at that y'all! Look at that and you can see the separation from the pink and the purple, but like in person it looked more um distinctive, like the purple looked darker, but not it was not giving the darkness that i wanted like it was just not. I really wanted the back to be dark in the front to be light and they kind of look almost the same color, you kind of see here you can kind of see the purple, but not enough, so i eventually decided to go with my original method and I just put the violet in there there's barely any alcohol in there and then i just dipped the roots in the violet straight up, and i know like this method: the color transfers. Look, how? Oh, my god, i finally color. I love it anyway. I know this method the color transfers, but since it was on the roots, i'm like it's. Okay, because you know no one's gon na touch the top of your head, or at least they shouldn't be. I shouldn't be so it's fine and it was giving me very much like billy eilish when she was wearing that wig um vibes, but i kind of loved it. I kind of loved the purple roots and that's pretty much it for the wig. I just let it air dry and yeah. Look at the crime scene mess in my sink and i'm a renter. So yeah it's been a couple of days um this is the wig. Can you see that it's the same color, because everything looks the same color like you can kind of see where i put that purple at but like honestly, it kind of just mixed together and became the same color. But one thing that i noticed is that the purple made the ends. Look more like plat. It kind of toned the hair kind of made the ends. Look lighter. I thought the purple was going to make things. Look darker. It actually toned it. So if you buy a 613 wig, you want like a platinum-y, purplish, tint, pastel purple effect. Then i say: use the alcohol ink with um alcohol method and you can get that because that's what that turned out to be like um, it's still cute, but i feel like i have so many pink wigs. I did not need another one. I probably am going to use some acetone and sorry, i'm probably gon na use some acetone and take all the color out and reapply it again, and then i can film that for you guys too, but look at this lace terrible his hair is terrible ugh. I will never buy amazon away again. I try hard y'all and don't come for me like. I don't know how to do my lace, because i will insert a photo of me doing lace on a synthetic wig from sam's beauty. I know what i'm doing. This just looks: i cannot salvage it. I try. I give the actual amazon wig like a four out of ten and that's being nice. I give this dye method because i didn't expect it to go the way it did a six out of ten um. If you want potent like, i love that word, that's like my keyword for this video. If you want like a potent hair, color um, i would, and you want to use alcohol ink. I would just go with the method of wearing a gloves and then just using a brush or on your hands and distributing the alcohol ink directly. If you want like a very vibrant vivid color, if you want pastel color, i would use the alcohol ink and um alcohol mix it together and then just dip dye. The wig, like you, would a human hair, wig um and then just like, fill in any gaps and massaging any gaps but yeah. What do y'all think i still really like the wig, but i'm gon na just have to throw in a cap with it, because that lace was not it y'all, and then this wig does tangle and um. This brush by conair is like their smoothing shine blow dry brush is the best wig brush, because it has these like wires and it gets it gets it. It gets in there and gets all the tangles out went to a party with this wig on and um yeah. This is my favorite cow print jacket. I got a lot of compliments on it, but it did stain it'll probably come out in the wash, but i would suggest wearing darker colors by the way. This is a shirt i made for my brand, pretty veronica clothing um. The shop is currently closed because i'm going through a lot, but if um enough, you guys want this shirt. I can open up the shop and put this on there and i forgot to mention earlier in the video guys. My sink is perfectly wet and clean.
