Wig Talk Wednesday! The Silver Lining Of Embracing Gray With Synthetic Wigs!

You today aren't with chat's app, hey y'all, i'm sure you're there, but i um hang on we're working on it. Oh it's been a busy week. It'S been very busy poor misty we're so grateful, she's, okay, she wrecked your car and they totaled it the day. Before my birthday mm-hmm on a sunday morning at 7, 30, yes, but let me tell you this is how good i am. I was on my way to the starbucks. I'D have to be at church until nine o'clock, okay, but i was 7 30 on my way to starbucks how to wreck had to call the police had to call my daddy to come get me. I had to bring a record all that i took him all. The way back home i had time to go back to starbucks finally get my coffee and make it to church on time. I'M telling you what i am because you get so you get up so early hi everybody, so yeah they've, been listening to me, complain about my car situation. Amongst other things. Oh, i hate the wrong thing. Why didn't you tell me all right? Yeah, okay y'all. We were so organized this morning, but it all went out the window: hey beth, oh hey, beth hi! We are in los angeles. We got minnesota and i said i recognize most of these people. I love it. I know i love it. It'S fun to have new people too, though it is, there's lindsay. I talked to her on the phone this week. Did you i did hi sue. She says she was almost on time. You didn't miss nothing girl. I had to get the chat up. It was just all of a sudden when there anymore ah judy says it's hot in south carolina. Oh it's hot! Here! You know what i was thinking this morning. I was so hot and it's the humidity. Now we have not even hit 100. Yet we've been, i mean it got. We got rain again this week. It'S been cool. I have nothing to complain about. It'S been 100 degrees in march in texas, and here it is almost the end of july. It'S supposed to be the hottest month of the year and i haven't complained one time. That'S a miracle i mean well. I complain in here not exactly accurate. Well, i haven't complained about it being hot outside. Let me clarify she does inside all the time she'll go. Yo yo, i'm hot, i'm hot, i'm like running to the thermostat, we'll cool it off misty! It'S not because i'm having hot flashes either don't say that hi susan, oh awesome, she said hardly taking it off it fit. I got ta scroll back up and read that just me again, i thought that was. I just didn't recognize you welcome. I can't stop. Looking at myself had to tell a lady yesterday, she was over. It was your customer. She was over the top so excited. I finally said: please do not have a wreck looking at yourself in the room, oh because yeah she could not stop. I mean she looked good. She could not. She looked just like her picture. That always makes me so happy and she was an old friend of my mom. Well, not an okay that sounded bad. She was a dear friend of my mom's and i went to high school with her daughter watch it your mom and just commented. So she knows, if you say, she's old, i i clarified, i know well smoking rise alabama. Somebody said our wig fab. I have waited for this wig months january. I have listened to her talk about complain. I have listened to her complain that she didn't have this wig and they finally came in. She almost didn't wear it today, i'm like you are wearing that wig yeah. I mean it's finally got it in. I don't know if it's back ordered, we got several. So do we want to cover the basics first, before we start into all this again, we have a lot of things to try to say. Oh, let's do this. It people have asked. It won't be that much and then we start gathering up stuff. It'S like! Oh, that's a lot of weeks to try on so oh you, we didn't say what we're doing this weekend. I'M so excited, i'm sorry! I'M so excited we're doing a wedding shower for our friend marsha that works with us, her son's getting married and so we're doing all girl, girly wedding, shower i'm in charge of games. Yes, so i know i don't know how that's going to go. It'S you know. It'Ll be a hit or miss kim's part is fabulous. I mean she goes all out. She'S like got china, and all this food and hors d'oeuvres and metaphors and a bunch of things i probably can't even pronounce that's not true it'll be fun. No kim is kim. Is a perfectionist when it comes to food? If you want anything done, she should have her catering business, it's good! I just let me brag on you. Look how and she's like. I have lots of help. My good friend tina, who is a perfectionist, is also helping me and she's fabulous everybody sending maxine hugs. What happened? I didn't see it. We have two different platforms that we stream on. I say this all the time, but a lot of people are new. So when we talk back to you, if you're watching us on youtube, we may be replying to a facebook comment and vice versa. So if you have, if it makes no sense to you whatsoever, it's because we're streaming on two platforms, susan, i have on in charge in ice granita. This was a new color that hair you wear came out with back in, i don't know the fall and as soon as it came out, it went back or the style was new and the color was new. I love that style on you. She wears this in another color. I do just fabulous and i tried yours on one time and i'm like i need this wig yeah. It'S got, ta be fomo, so in the ice, granita gets dark back here at the nate, but this is kind of like a layered up ball, but it's just got good fullness and i'm wearing the unfiltered. Oh, i can't even turn i got my makeshift table too. Close the unfiltered in the sugar and charcoal it's so pretty. So if you didn't read the titles or see our preview, we're doing great the silver lining of embracing your gray well, and the thing is when you start growing, going across companies. Sometimes you like a great color in one company and you're, trying to figure out what some what is similar in another company, so that we're just going to show you uh the companies that we carry just everything. There are a couple colors that we're not going to show you just simply because we maybe didn't have them in a specific style. We wanted to show you or just because you know, there's only so many times you can see just plain white, australia, canada, scotland, welcome everybody. Okay, can i talk about in charge? Let me first address pat, yes, pat. This is the in charge. I just talked to pat on the phone she's, so so sweet and she got it in charge and she thought it was a little thick here on the sides and she's been waiting on this color too, and i kind of talked her out of it, because i Don'T want her to purchase something that she's not gon na like since it's not returnable so um, here's your chance, uh pat, to see it on kim well and pat the for any of these wigs. Sometimes the color makes a big difference. So when you get a lighter color, it doesn't seem to look like as much hair because it's just lighter, but one of the things i'm going to say about in charge. It'S memory, cap 3, for whatever reason this heat defiant fiber doesn't wear like the others. My other in charge, i've worn a number of times washed. It shows no signs of wear, it's not fraying here, like normally, you would expect. So i can't really say enough good things about this style and the way it wears, and it's just pretty it just flatters. Your face really: well, yes, okay! So let's switch all right. What we're doing is by company, so we're kind of going all rock hill first and then we'll hit. You know most of our major companies susan, it's lace front with a mono part, whereas comfortable too unfiltered is lace front, with a mono top full mono top luxembourg. Have you ever been to luxembourg? No! I haven't been to germany, okay, let's have a little gig wait. It'S not in germany, well it borders, but it's its own country. It'S a tiny little country, it's so cute, you're right! No, i have not been. Obviously we drove through there going to um france from germany. I'Ve never been there either it's its own country too. Oh, is it it's not france in part of germany either. I had no idea. Okay, luxembourg henrique says even with gray hair, you don't look old. Okay, let's talk about gray, hair gray. Hair does not make make you look old you as long as you have a nice updated current style, then the gray is not going to. Let make you look old. What makes you look old is everything else, so i don't care what color your hair is. If you don't keep the rest of you updated, so if you put on a dumpy dress, i don't care what color your hair is you're going to look old and dumpy. It doesn't matter. If you wear current clothes and keep yourself updated, then - and you get a you wear gray hair, you get a gray wig and you get an updated style. You are not going to look old. I tell people all the time i we can make you look old. I mean other styles, but we can make you look old, we're capable, but you can look younger yeah, i mean so much younger, oh yeah. Oh the flooding, yeah beth, my sister's, fine. Thankfully, where she lives, nobody was um, injured or killed. Several basements got pretty well flooded, but she is fine. Thank you. I couldn't see the things because my teacup was in the way all right. Well, all right, we better go move on. Let'S go here, i'll, give you your wig back. Thank you, i'm gon na need. It for the rest of the day, all right next up we're doing a mixture of the heat defiant in regular fibers because they pretty well look the same across the board. There'S a little bit of difference. You know how the heat define it looks versus the regular as far as shininess and texture, but as far as color wise they're, pretty close hi maria in charge does come darker in a darker gray. Does it come in the 511? Hey? It comes silvered in smoke. You have to check the website, i'm really not sure, not sure. Okay, this actually on camera, almost looks a little blonde. This is called it doesn't move. This is like a natural progression if you have like a medium brown hair, when you start going gray and the myth is people think, oh, my hair is gray. Technically your hair never goes gray, it loses the pigment and it goes white. So when you see the contrast, sometimes it makes it look great, but um hair does dry out. This will be my color dory. We did not talk about our necklaces james avery. We don't hear james avery, we can't you can only buy james avery from james avery and you know once you start it's it's an addiction. It is an addiction they used to make custom pieces back in the day before they got too big. Like heb had like a their employee like being made, i wish they did that we could have a mimi's charm, okay, okay, voltage, sparkle. I love the profile on sparkle because you get good good fullness in the crown it's kind of a little messy tight, neckline yeah, and then these kind of the same up here. But these pieces are long here, so some people like it going towards their face other times, they'll pull it back behind their ears. I did not even tell you. I got a message sunday morning: it's not the wreck sunday, but this last sunday from a girl at my church and she's. Like i found you on pinterest y'all, it was some site called sarah discount, wigs or something like sauna. Did it say um elderly wig, for white women? It did not thank goodness well. It said that before yes - and i thought that was real funny because misty's i don't know eight years younger than me - it's like you you're wearing. You got elderly wigs and i didn't even have grey wig on what doesn't matter. I was talking to someone yesterday that was telling me the same hi sonia tom thumb. Pharmacy is here, uh hi sean, it's your first like anytime. You read the description and it's. If it's not good grammar, if it's like something, i would say right, i think they've got a translator and they're trying to say something like for the mature woman and somebody that english in their first language, says. Oh, it's for an old woman or an elderly woman. Well, she, the lady yesterday, told me when she was looking at something that said for old women. Like you know, stuff can't be missed in the translation. It can't be as bad as a sweet brown, black egg roll wig. Oh danielle, says um off topic. Well, google and i i had like this vision of them, having like a translating team and yeah. Well now, if you ever like on facebook, when somebody like, because i have friends that are not from the united states and their families still in other countries and they'll post, something and it'll automatically translate it and i'll be like that, doesn't even make sense, because no, I do that oh you're on wish too oh yeah. Well, everyone wishes they had a wig. I was trying to be smart and it wouldn't smell. So this is ahead of the curve. This is 5660 silver mist. This is a traditional fiber, it's obviously raquel wig, but this has is mostly white with just a sprinkling of pepper. Okay, i'm tell you what who looks good in that wig every time which you haven't done in a while. Every time lynn brady posts her picture wearing that wig. In that real, pretty sugar charcoal color, which is her hair. It looks just like her hair, exactly like her hair. This is crowd, pleaser, silver and smoke. I love crowd. Pleaser too. It'S just a good. It reminds me of isla from time so if you want just a little bit of like a hot rolled kind of curl, it's really good. It could be. I always think, that's like dressy hair yeah, that's what i think it could be dressy and yours is cute. It'S more casual right, it's kind of kicky kicking in the back, it's kicky all right, we'll switch off kiki mimi came in the other day. Maybe i'm about to talk about you. She came in because one of her very very best friends came in, and so she came in to help her find a wig, and i mean she it's like she worked here and i don't how long other than she comes in and does her styling. But she hasn't like been out on the floor in a long time and stopped working in a while and i'm like. She just turns out. She didn't forget a thing and alyssa was here and alyssa's never really worked with her and i'm like listen she's watching the master she said. Well, i figured you took your day off that day because you knew i was gon na miss you like mom. So if you ever see that that's your first clue is r is regular. Fiber and the rl is their real life or true to live fiber. They call it two different things all right here you go ma'am. I have a box issue, they say things about me, so i have to make sure these go back in the right boxes. So that's why i make kim switch with me. We we tolerate things from her. Well, hey! It keeps things nice and orderly. All right! Well, they're, like shoe boxes, i mean every box has a particular wig, that's supposed to go in it, and what drives me insane is these companies, namely jon renau, is the worst right now and then rock hill is they'll, inevitably send the same wig in two size Boxes or they'll do like four size boxes for like each style, and so when we're busy up in here we're throwing wigs around colleen ahead of the curve is a regular fiber. It is not heat defiant, so these are both gabor wigs and this is sheer elegance in the sugared pewter, which is gorgeous it's really comparable to the raquel welch 5660. yeah. It'S got a little bit more pepper to it and kind of like the isla of the eyelid, the uh tony beverly minks, which we'll show you in a little bit: okay, paige all of the wigs that we're showing you come in other colors, we're showing you what Comes in gray, because sometimes it's hard to find colors that come in gray and it's hard to map from one company to the other, for which gray you want. So that's what we're doing today, but everything that we're showing comes in red blonde brown and a lot of different variations in between so and we'll. Do other color spotlights. But everybody asks about gray, because gray is really popular right now, yeah and with everybody with covid and the shutdown and they're you know people are growing their color off to go gray. So lynn says why don't they put the name and the color on the box? Aesthetic, it does and they're the only company - oh tony and beverly right, both of those do and sometimes we don't pay attention. We still put it in the wrong box and i won't even tell you what happens if you if you sell a wig and you put that in the wrong box and the wrong box goes out the door. I don't know i've chased somebody down before i've been strumming up by my toenails for doing that. It'S like, if you get order a wig or get a wig and you get it in it's the wrong box, it's kind of like if it's printed, but if it's not printed, you don't know. Well, sometimes you just you get to talking and you're just enjoying the people so much that i need to post a picture of like some of the days when we've had wigs just piled, because i'm telling you it gets crazy up in here. It does. Let'S change this tracy, we do have wigs that are longer that come in gray, and i took that one out because i didn't have an even number, but we can show it julia by jon, renau, um courtney by jon renau. I think jon renau and is pretty much the only company, that's doing like a normal estetica does a couple of fashion, grays, uh bennett and uh um and hunter by tony of beverly. They do they do great. I forget about this wig. It'S really cute lindsay. We have not moved, but we will keep you updated on that. We are moving forward and chasing everybody down, making sure everybody does their job. You know i might eat this wig. I know it's cute, isn't it i forget about it only thing about gabor? Is they don't make a blonde with a dark root? Most of their blondes have a it's like a blind, shade yeah. They call it soft shade. So it's a it's kind of like a dark light brown or dark blonde. Not enough contrast, i mean. Sometimes, that's people want that, but it's just really light. So if you have dark brows, it's hard to pull it off. What what does gl stand for um, luminous, gabor luminous, that's right and then they have the gabor luminous and then they have the soft shades right. Yes and they have another one, i can't remember what it is all right. Next one yeah maxine you're right noriko puts the color in the nape of their wig, and that goes for noriko, renee, paris and amore amore is i wish everybody did that estetica will put a tag with the color in it, but it's not. It doesn't seem to be really a permanent. It does too more has the color yeah. It doesn't seem to be a permanent tag because they seem to come out fairly easily. Well, this doesn't have the color. Are you sure that said the color i thought? Well, maybe not i don't have my glasses on, i could have said, i'm coming to get you and i wouldn't know all right. This is kind of epic's, just a good mid length bob that bang this is sweet talk. It needs a little help here on the bang and sugared smoke. So this is a gray color. If you had lighter brown hair and you don't if you're going gray - and you don't have that true white, it's more of a champagne gray, this is a beautiful color. It is pretty, i don't know that i've ever really paid attention to that color from gabor yeah, it's a beautiful color. It is it's like the 101 f48t without the 101 yeah, it's uh kind of short, or almost like the uh tony beverly, which we'll show you in a minute silverstone, and this one. It has just a low concentration of gray. It'S mostly like dark right all right. I want a new car susan says: ice granite is not on the website in charge. It'S 50 r rl 5161 should, it might say back, ordered beside it, but i don't think we're taking it off cute cute. I want a new curly wig. Oh, my goodness amy says that she thought of me the other day she started watching dallas, okay, first time. What am i doing wrong when the lace front rolls up rolls up or under plate? Okay, let's play it straight. You'Ve just got it. What what i usually do you don't want to pull directly on the lace but i'll pull it up a little bit and run my finger. You can't see underneath just to make the lace lays down, and if it's like sticking out and not like hugging your forehead, then you can use a little bit of it stays roll-on or some of that new jon renau the lace front, minis. Those are really really. I'M convinced you could probably cut them to like a quarter inch size and just kind of put, maybe three right there. They are so strong a base color for sugar charcoal, i would probably say it yeah. It probably is a four. I don't know it's it's hard to tell. I don't know that it's as dark as a four, maybe a six, maybe six or eight, but not not the warmth - that the six and the eight more like a drab like a cool tone, brown all right. Moving around jon renau gosh, this is going to be a long show. We'Ve already been here, 27 minutes pamela. We are going to show silverstone by noriko. It'S not our signature color, but we have that color made in uh wigs that they don't make it in so they're exclusive to us. You can only buy them here because they don't make that color, but we are going to show it. This is a longer one. It'S not long, but it's considered mid length too long. What is that it's on the screen? This is jazz in 92. Somebody just said my wig addiction has begun. Oh girl, you have no idea it. Just i always say your addiction could be worse. Well, the problem is, i have several well, i can't help you with there. Ella'S ill is good. It has a little bit of face framing. This is a good style that we we sell a lot of to people who want longer hair. Obviously, it's also a great wig. If you want something, that's going to be more sleek and not have so much volume here, it lays pretty flat and it feels good down here. It'S it's not thick, but it's not real thin right, so it just feels natural. Okay, my wig grip velcro keeps getting home um how in the world all right, y'all moving right along jazz is so comfortable. This is part of their oh, so white collection. They don't make 92 in a lot of things, in fact not very many things at all, but i wanted to show it because it's cute, it's got that dark back. It'S kind of like silver show y'all just ignore what happened earlier. We blocked him so if y'all saw that he keeps creating new identities, i know, but they all seem to have the same name. Jazz is kind of like voltage. I like that, and i was pretty cute. I don't have them, i don't even i might need that. Now i'm pretty picky about looking at it and saying. Do you really need this because you can find so much online now and i i'm still a pen and paper i like to i like to read books that are made of paper and i like to write things down on paper in a list instead of putting It on my phone yeah because i like to go to this grocery store - and i have my list in front of me and inevitably when i'm trying to do a recipe and it's on, like my ipad i'll, get my hands all dirty and doing something. Well, neither one of these have a lot of bulk in the chat. You know what i'm noticing, though this 39 f30. I had to look at the tag. It looks really light. Well, it starts see that do we have a it's darker in the back, a jon renau or in toronto - a january, because i i don't think this is normally how this looks and i just wanna. Oh, i know where we got one hand i was gon na. Have to put my glasses on because i couldn't see colleen, it's it's just kind of rearranged. It'S not as dark in the back colleen's asking if 39f38 and jon renau is close to the sandy silver in noriko tone wise, pretty similar. But it's just rearranged where you don't have the super light piece here that uh noriko does and we'll show this in just a minute. But as far as the color tones yeah, it's a it's a brown gray. I would say that the lighter part is, although not true, white, more white than what the gray is on the sandy silver see how this has a shadow. This looks darker a little darker turn around. It sure does, but the other thing is one thing: i've noticed in the professional collection, even the toffee truffle, it looks different than it does, and you know the january toffee truffle looks different than the haley and toffee truffle. It seems to so sometimes when they it's just like noriko when they make an amore wig or they make rene of paris. The colors are called the same, but the the arrangement's a little different, so it looks a little different yeah. So just i mean always keep that in mind. It looks, i think i think 39 38 consistent consistently looks more dark in most styles than it. Does that highly, in my opinion, riding the bell. We don't have a bell. Okay, all right. Moving on to estetica, we aren't really showing fashion grays today, except for this is considered a fashion gray, but just because aesthetic it doesn't have many grays allie. We blocked him. I don't know you know no idea. We'Ve blocked him several times. Uh dana that was julianne was that julian you just had on julianne is fully hand-tied. Julian also is part of the jon renau. Light collection need some help. I got my earring okay, and so you can get julienne in the regular or you can get it in the light. Okay, the light is the ear-to-ear lace front. The regular julienne is the temple to temple, ear, front ear temple to temple lace front. What did you say? Templeton will ear your front ear or that ear front coming in y'all you better take cover emma is the wig we usually go to for someone who doesn't want a lot of hair. One of my clients just bought this and she has a serious need for thin hair. She doesn't want anything thick and she actually said this is thin yeah, so she liked it hangs, really sleek. It'S got good movement cute little angle and i love mellow. I'Ve got this in silver, sun rooted, and i like it because you get that wave without it being crazy. I like milan too. I don't know why. I don't have it because i'm out of spots to keep my wigs all right, kim myers has this mellow in this color and we trimmed a bang in it. When she came in town and just and side note, uh beth emma does not have a lace front, but she's got a full mono top, but these caps are so stretchy and comfortable. I love messy. That'S why i just love this wig, and this has got a cute angle. You probably already said that, and i was ignoring you or not. I did say it, but sometimes we don't listen to each other. That'S the relationship. We have now you're just grinning, my daddy, because he's hard here does it feel: oh beth, it it's different than alva. It'S stretchier, it's stretchier! It'S got the angle to it. The bang is different. It'S it's, and one thing i and i've only found this out when i had to alter one of these wigs because it was too big for a client. They literally spaced the wefts on the emma farther apart that way, it has less hair. I think they do that on purpose, it's a pain to alter um, but i think that's what causes the hair to be a little bit flatter? It'S there's, usually a weft is about a quarter inch away and they've made this so thin. You can literally, i don't know if you can see it, see the difference and you can see shoot you can't see, but you can literally we've had people come back and go, you can see through this cap? Well, you can because the the monofilament top is very well designed, but they don't put as much hair. No, they do not all right. I got to get my own personal music, and this is not technically gray, but because it had silver in the name. I thought we needed to show it because it might be misleading to some people all right. This is dina by estetica and this is ryan. I love that asymmetric, messiness cute, i love dina tina's just got a little just a little bit of face framing, but it's a great style, and this color is pretty eaties and oops. They don't make that color or anything else and um other companies i mean. Okay, goodness gracious we're going on 40 minutes. Oh, we got ta hurry. We got ta hurry. I just i'm always amazed people stick with us. We appreciate it. Yes, we do dina is so comfortable, it is, and it's so lightweight - and it has such a good angle. Sandra mellow is made by estetica karen, i don't think ryan runs small in the cap, but again the companies allow 10 percent variance before they'll call anything defective and 10 and a wig is a whole lot. So we do see variation from company to company. With regard to caps - and you know, i've - i've got several of wigs that i've got a number of things in, and so we uh we do notice, there's difference in the cap size.
