Mesmerized By Raquel Welch In Rl8/12Ss, Iced Mocha / Wig Review / How To Style Into A High Ponytail

This is a wig review of Mesmerized by Raquel Welch in the color RL8/12SS, Iced Mocha. Mesmerized is a long, sleek, low density style with a side-swept bang and an extended lace front. These features provide you with many styling options. The fibers are the Tru2Life®️ heat-friendly synthetic fibers that can be heat styled up to 300℉. I'm including styling tips for how to keep the fibers out of the face and showing step by step how I style it into a high ponytail and bun (I practiced this once before filming). This updo style would be great for swimming and exercising! I also explain how I use silicone tape and eyeshadow on the part. Lastly, I show Mesmerized in outdoor lighting.

I purchased:

- this wig from Wigs by Patti’s Pearls

- the AWD Medical Silicone Tape from Amazon

- the hinged headband from Amazon

Hi everyone i'm michelle, welcome back to my channel today. I have this mesmerizing wig to show you. This is the aptly named mesmerized by raquel welsh in iced mocha. Before we start, i wanted to ask if you wouldn't mind, liking and subscribing down below okay, so mesmerized is just this gorgeous long, sleek style. I have her pulled all the way forward, so you can see that the density is quite low, um, very natural looking, and this will really help when we try to style her in some updos later. So this is just a stunning wig and i love this color. I feel like this is probably the closest color that i've tried on a wig to my bio hair, which is this um very fine, thin hair. Here you can see, i think i might be eye smoker. Never knew that so absolutely fun to try and that really helps also, if you're going to style the wig away from your face and in some updos. So let's take a closer look. First, we have this beautiful side swept bang. I can show you some of those pieces there we go um. This is lovely i actually. When it first arrived, it did flop in my face a bit more than it is now, and i steamed it back and you can absolutely train her to go back more. If that's the kind of look you're looking for, but i think it was intended to be kind of a side, swept bang like this and i think that's just adorable, also for any up styles, updos that we might try later. So, let's take a close look. First, we have the lace front and i'm trusting raquel welch so much with this darker color, and i don't regret that. I did because i feel that this lace front is amazing. The knots are very natural, looking very small and almost invisible. The mono part again is also excellent and i actually have a piece of silicone tape under here, and i will show you that later, when we look at the cast cap - construction uh, that's a new trick that i discovered that i'm very excited about so there. She is those are those details. Let'S take a look from all sides here. She is from the right and the back back beautiful movement from the left yeah. So i'm looking forward to looking at this outside in natural lighting and we'll do some styling options and look at the cap construction. Okay, so here we have the cap construction. The first thing i want to show you is this: silicone tape that i've applied to the part line, and now this is not a new trick uh, and this is not something i invented uh. There are youtube videos out there um. That will give you a lot of detail about how to do this, but i'll just show you how i've been doing it um. Well, you can see it just peels away, and one thing: i'd like you to notice is that you see a little bit of that powder on there that i applied to the part line, and that's a real benefit of using this silicone tape. Is that the powder that you apply adheres to the tape and really helps create that natural scalp appearance? Normally, if you don't have that and when i used silk underneath you'd, pretty much have to reapply that powder every time you put the wig on because it just kind of disappears, but that's an added benefit and it's just so easy to attach and pull back off. The tape i've been using is this awd medical, silicone tape and i just purchased this on amazon. It comes in a roll and you just cut a piece. However long you want it to be, and you apply it and then i flip it. You know once it's on then i like to use this is a brush for painting, so it's kind of stiff - and i like that because it lets me get into the fibers and i've been using covergirl. I got this a long time ago. I think from a drugstore, this is just a basic palette of eyeshadow and i use as you can see, that very light. Color so i'll apply that to my brush and then just dab, i'm having a hard time doing this in reverse dab into the part line with a little bit of powder, and then, if it looks too powdery to you - and it can do that, especially on these Darker colors, then i'll just use the applicator that comes with that little kit with a little palette and make sure it's clean and that will easily. You can just touch up the edges. If you feel that you've got too much powder and it's not looking natural and clean it up that way, so that's what i like to do anyway, let's get back to the cap construction. So we have a closed wefted back. You can see that and, as a result, it's not as stretchy as open wefted are, but this has been very comfortable for me. It has an extended nape, which is lovely, especially if you're going to be sewing a wig clip on there that little bit of extra space is wonderful and, of course, the extra coverage that gives you. You have the velcro adjusters, which i've tightened. You have the very soft ear tabs with the metal stays. There is a full monofilament top which allows you the option of parting center left or right. You have the extended lace front that goes from temple to temple, and that is just a wonderful luxurious feature. I'M just so grateful for that. So that is the cap construction. Next, we'll do some styling options. Okay, let's look at some styling options. Now, as i mentioned, mesmerized is so low density that there's so much you can do a little half tuck behind the ear full tuck. Let'S just see what it looks like with both sides, and you can see your ears are not bulging out it. Just uh is a very low density, beautiful sleek, wig. Another option is the headband, and these hinged headbands are great. They just slide them on and off that works really well and i'm just blown away again by the extended lace front on this raquel welsh mesmerized. It'S just so natural looking and because my bio hair is such a similar color. It'S just unbelievable how that blends just right in so there we have a couple of options, there's so many things you can do. I will leave that to your imagination, because i want to take a little time and go over how to style mesmerized in a high ponytail. Now i don't typically do this this. This will be new for me to style a wig into a high ponytail. I feel like that is kind of advanced uh, wig styling, so we're going to kind of try this together um, but i want to show you from the beginning exactly how i plan on doing this. So uh we'll start like this and you'll see what i'm working with here is this amount of very fine, bio hair and i'm planning on using this as much as i can for this updo. So what i have already shown you is the clip the wig clip that i sewed to the nape of this um cap, and this will help keep the wig from riding up and pulling away and now in the front. What we're going to secure is a piece of wig tape i like to use - and i use this with toppers previously. This is the walker lace front, wig tape really anywhere. If you had some silicone, you could attach this and i've pre-cut a piece and we're going to attach this to the very front, not quite at the edge of the lace. But, as you can see just a little bit back in the center of the forehead. And what that's going to do is help keep that wig in place. It will grip right here. I shave my forehead as i've mentioned in a previous video just right at the very front hairline, because i like to ensure that no bio hair is peeking through when you're wearing your wig. So here it is, with the little backing, peeled off and we're going to go ahead and apply this now when you're doing this. Of course you want to try to place the wig exactly where you want it, because once that tape is on there, it really does grip. So we're going to put her on okay and we press press press press, try to get that wig tape to really adhere to your skin and that will really help keep the wig in place. Okay and then i have my wig clip, which i am clipping in at the nape, and that will also now this is very secure. This is this is not going anywhere so for the high ponytail. What i think will be really cute is to just brush as much of this back as possible and then we're going to be pulling some of those fringe pieces forward to frame the face. That'S why i think this will be a great style for a high ponytail. So now i'm just gathering everything the wig fibers, my bio hair and trying to make it as smooth as possible and in the back it is pulling a little bit. So i'm going to push down a little bit so that that's comfortable and we will gather that up in our hair time. This will also make a very sleek and fun bun. I'Ve seen a lot of that lately and, of course this is a wonderful style for swimming or exercise. Okay, so there's the basic idea now we know we have all these gorgeous fringe pieces. So let's encourage some of that to come, fall into the face. A little bit, okay, that's looking cute, i think, there's still some pieces that want to fall down and the part wants to show maybe we'll let the part show a little bit. Okay. Now i had a comment on a previous video and i wanted to respond to that. Uh well at least show uh what the lady was asking to see. So when we do these ponytails um, not only are we looking to blend in the front, of course, this wonderful lace front and extending down to the temple as far as possible, which this one certainly does and have that realism now with this fringe. That would help disguise any issues you might have a little bit as well, but what she asked to see was the nape so for this i'm going to turn and hopefully you'll be able to see. Maybe we'll pin this up a little bit. I have a clip. Just so that you can clearly see what is happening in the nape area, so i've pinned it, of course, with the the wig clip and now i'm going to pull my bio hair down. Try to my bio hair is not all going to be tightened with the ponytail, so i'm pulling some of that back out of the ponytail and you can see this is the bottom of the wig cap. I hope you can see, and now i'm going to gather this bio hair and clip it on the underside of the ponytail, and i just have a little wig clip for that. Not wig clip i'm sorry. This is just a regular clip and this any bio hair. That'S falling out that you're trying to integrate there, you can just secure and that will not really be visible. So i hope you can see that, and i hope it's blending nicely i'll - have to watch the video myself to see, but that's what i would do for the nape area there so yeah. I think this is just an adorable little ponytail that will work well for the summertime. Let'S take a look from all sides here. She is from the right and the back and the left very cute and to make a bun. I would just twist these fibers around and then i would take another hair tie and just wrap it around that bun to hold those fibers in place there. We go absolutely perfect for summertime. You could absolutely go swimming in this wig. Of course you'll. If you end up getting chlorine or salt water on it, you would need to wash it so uh, that's something to keep in mind, but i think just from a style perspective. This is a great option for summer sports and fun. So hope you enjoy this next. We'Ll take her outside okay, so here we are outside. I wanted to give you a quick look at this gorgeous color in natural outdoor lighting. Again this is iced mocha rl812ss. This is absolutely uh. More of a cool toned and ashy brunette a little cooler than i'm accustomed to wearing, but i'm finding that she's absolutely stunning. I just love this color and it is very realistic. Looking let's look at some of the details. You'Ve got this gorgeous raquel welsh lace front. Those knots are virtually invisible, even though this is a darker brunette. You have the monofilament part. Let'S take a look from all sides here. She is from the right and the left. I also want to mention that these are the true to life heat friendly, synthetic fibers. That rappel welsh makes so you can heat style this wig up to. I believe they recommend about 300 degrees with the heat tools, so just lovely. So in conclusion, i do love mesmerized and i do love iced mocha. The style is just wonderful. It is sleek low density, very polished, looking you absolutely can style her away from the face so easily and in updos because of the low density and because of this beautiful side swept fringe. That just adds a little bit of interest around the face, a very pretty style, the iced mocha i've been wearing a lot of brunettes uh because i am a natural brunette, and so i have to say, i've mostly been wearing brunettes with red in them or um Kind of a strawberry blonde, and that is just what i've been drawn to and it's a warm color and i love them, but i will say this ashy cool brown that is in this iced mocha. First of all, is just so realistic and natural. Looking and i i do think it matches my bio hair and i think a lot of women who are natural brunettes actually have this kind of more of an ashy brown than the warm brown. So if you're, looking for extreme realism or you're looking to blend your bio hair that you have in an updo with your wig, then this is absolutely a color. I would recommend in the brunette family, so just beautiful, very natural, very versatile. The updos were fantastic and i may have to wear a wig to the beach this year instead of my baseball cap, as i have been doing for years, so i hope this has been helpful.
