#MydentityColorbyGuyTang

Neutona head: that's teased in the land, I'm here with Arianna a global team member. I love you. We all love you and I'm here with crystal. I call her Cristal. Okay, most of her hair is virgin has been close to two years since I've last seen you and last time we used dusty, lavender, permanent color and 10sp silver pearl right. Yes, so we're so excited, look how beautiful it grew out after two years right it. You can tell we have chateau ash 9-10 alright, so the shower collection is so special because it's triple the ash is triple the ash hahaha. Now, obviously, we will categorize this. What at level 5 so yeah she's a natural 5 we're still gon na use the 9 and 10 with 30 and 40 volumes. So, as you know, when you're trying to lift a level-five up that high you're gon na have someone. So this is gon na give her like, maybe like a smoky caramel type of feel it's gon na be gorgeous. I'M very excited yeah me too. You expose the one and you neutralize it with that triple ash. Alright, so we are gon na put in shadow ash 10, I'm gon na use a full two bhij and throw that out shadow ash 10 to full tubes, alright, so with permanent color. Okay, we are gon na measure, equal parts which is really important here. So we can do shadow ash 9 here and we're gon na mix this one with 30 volume, so I'm gon na show a foiling technique that I love doing, and this is great on anyone who has virgin hair. Of course, the lighter pieces are previous, so we're gon na work with that. Okay, so I'm gon na do 30 volume equal parts, okay, one to one ratio here, guys, I'm gon na. Have you whisk her up. We'Ve got chef 9-10. Well, we have multiple formats going. Sometimes we forget yeah, I can get a little confusing when I was sitting there. We don't want to get confused all right. Let'S get started all right, so I'm gon na pull out some foils now we're gon na spin around. So I'm gon na start from the back. Okay, I'm gon na separate everything from the front parietal to the front. Obviously, and so I'm gon na utilize, the diamonds in the sky technique in a back combing form. So we have release our balayage head stroke. Seven. Instead of balayage we're gon na use, foils, okay, so I'm gon na separate this area hold that I'm gon na dissect from this cipher ear and go directly across to her nape. I don't want to bring the highlights up too high. I want everything to stay low. This gives the illusion of more hair. When we over highlight it can look dirty messy, there's too much going on. You need depth of their name. Less is more! In this case. We don't want to take away all of her virginity, just half of her virginity. I'M gon na over direct it parallel to the section, so it's gon na come this way and when I do a cushion of a push, it's only gon na be one right. So this is gon na go all the way up and you want to leave a little room here. Take the brush and dip it into the shadow Ashe nine right just on the top part, and then I'm gon na lay this down right here, paint shale ash. Nine, with 30 volume you can go up pretty high, even extended outside of the foil, because it is color and bleach or lighten erm you're. Not gon na have to worry about that orange or brassy tone of band you get when this outside of the foil and then everything from here on down, I'm gon na go in with shadow ash. Ten, I'm just gon na pull. This up apply the color right on it. I'M gon na shift back over and take a horizontal section. So now is another triangular section here that goes straight across. So what you see me do is go from diagonal straight diagonal straight and diagonal. So until I reach the top now, if I want to get closer to the top, I could take a thin section above this all right and I have Ariana hold that out, and this could be a piece that I take up higher right underneath this thin piece. I may do a low hombre field, so you have a distance between the scalp and here so when this diffuses and comes out, you get more depth through than the ratash area and the light starts a little bit later: shadow ash nine, I'm just gon na paint. A B right on top of this foil that here's this gut is what ensures saturation saturation and stabilization of the foil. I think a lot of people think it's an extra step, so it'll take more time, but really it saves you time when you're going through and you don't have to worry about the foil moving and if you penetrate it all the way through. I think good things take time. Everything good takes time. Guys love takes time. So, if you guys saw here, I took this one piece, a lot higher. So, within every section I take, I take a thin slice above it, so you we're creating an illusion of a balayage without balling. So why didn't I balayage with the color, because with foil you get additional lift when it's incubated inside of a foil. It pushes the hair to go lighter than then. If I was to not use foil and if I saturate and penetrate you, you get more lift, even though it's color and not a bleach or Lightner of you will and saturation is key here. That'S why you'll see me constantly spread it back and forth. It even helps when you apply because of the feathered edge, so you don't have a hard line and what I do after I do this. So I get to the top actually repeat the same pattern on the opposite side till we get to the front right. It'S that you see me take this diagonal section pivoting from this point right. So when I twist it, this is a triangular block. I'M going to take a thin slice right above that triangle, over direct parallel to that section and back home a little bit lower. So I get to push all the short pieces back when I drag it back down. You can see the cushion starts here so when I apply the color here, it's a further distance. This ensure that we have depth about that root. Ah right, one push is all you need. I think. Sometimes we over push things we overly get too aggressive and push things back so keep in mind here, even though I'm laying the foils down low remember, I can still stroke out, and I think this is much needed. I mean all the hair best sees in the land have been asking for ash. That'S more pigment. We need more ash at higher levels of multi levels, and this is not just this. Is it yeah? It is not just any ash its shadow ash. I love the name too, but keep in mind guys. If you have gray clients who are like 50 % gray, then 50 %, your formulas should be ni and then add 50 % of the other formula. You know shadow ash or whatever desire for my you life. If you want to create a smoky chocolate color, what I suggest is like mixing the BB Brown beige with the shale ash yeah you like that laughs. It'S like smoke, wood, yeah! So now we're gon na pull down that next thin layer of section, and this is where I am gon na - take it close to the scalp edge right. So I'm gon na take it in right just like that, going from there Neath and pushing it up really high paint shadow 9 and then bring it up high to the scalp. But do take a close look here that I did do the back home. That'S going to create a diffusion, but you still got to put in an effort to make it blend seamlessly by creating an imaginary W, so also take notice how the product is on my brush. It'S not dipped in not too much product. I kind of spoon it up. I want to show you guys how I scoop up the color, so instead of dipping in like this, if I spoon it from the corners like this and you get less product to apply, but you also clean the corners of your bowl to ensure that you get Like the best application, you don't need too much product, I'm gon na repeat this until I get to the top and then I'm gon na do the same thing. On the other side. Now we are at the front of crystal space, so I am gon na turn. Her hat sideways right now, parallel section hair thin and we're gon na backcomb it straight up to her potage crystal. You have a little bit of a story. I had some personal experiences that affected my health. My body suffered a lot because of it and one of those things unfortunately, was my hair and I just honestly set out on a goal. I met some really amazing people that were mentors for me. They say you know, you should set some goals and things that maybe used to do before and isn't really happening now so much anymore because of it - and I said you know yeah, I don't think my hair done again yeah, but I need to get my hair In a healthy place, and because of that I need to be taking care of myself, my body needs to heal, and, ironically that's when we met yeah yeah in a crazy cuz of the shadows in my life and the bad things that I've gone through. It really actually brought out a passion of my own for health and wellness and being able to support others that maybe have dealt with the same things. I'M on a mission to be able to speak to people in those situations where I have been and they can find healing themselves and find light as well, and so I retired and I've been in pursuit of health and wellness, and I've been on that journey. For last year - and that's been amazing, so now we are gon na move these three foils away from her face, and I'm gon na take a clip and clip the foils back. So now he's gon na tackle this cipher face. So again, this we are closer to her face frame. I just want to make sure that I get close to her scalp edge as much as possible right here. Okay, so we're gon na tug and push it back as close as possible, so keep in mind guys if your client booked an appointment at 3 p.m. don't mix the color before she comes in, because I feel it's important that your client sits down. First then mix the color, because that's when it's fresh and if you're using permanent color, it needs to be mixed freshly, so it can actually lift. Because what happens is the the living power will decline after so much time and you're gon na get the best coverage that I can get the best lift, because I want you guys to have the best experience. Speaking of shadows, a few years ago when we were shooting you for my daddy color she's, one of our first models for the launch collection and we had a huge launch event and we actually partnered with a trade magazine to you, know, work with us and promote The brand okay and then in turn we promote each other. We shall love and support, because that's what this industry good for everybody in individuals decided to take it upon himself to announce the news of my daddy launch before I did this trade magazine and company brand. Whatever knows better than to release information before I release it right, this person tried to take something away from me, but I didn't let this person beat me. I didn't let this person win. It was a sad thing to happen, but that was the darkness and here's. The light and we're here again, two years later and working with crystal and we're happy and we're here any continue and we're happy and we're healthy, no matter what we went through, no matter what pain you went through crystal we're here and we're happy and that's the Best part about the shadow ash collection, guys. This is knowing that there is light when there is a shadow darkness cannot defeat you, because that lightness exists. Speaking of that day, during lunch, do you remember we were backstage and you showed me the email I immediately like was like. I think he turned like red immediately like you were just flashed, and I couldn't I didn't know what to say. I was shaking. I was so mad. I felt betrayed like how can someone I partner with try to sabotage my launch. You pulled me aside and you held me while I was down on the floor like just so stressed. You can told me you because you're my best friend and everything you told me, you know what don't let this person beat. You don't let her take this joy away from you. You get up on that stage. You own that stage. So when I got up there, I was very passionate everything I speak up came from the heart, but it was a hard time hard time, but you know what the truth needs to be told right. So I'm telling it now so anyway, I'm doing a backhoe. Someone told me I hate his tutorials because he talks too much about random stuff other than hair, I'm not a robot. My Deni is about being yourself about being proud of yourself. If I want to share the color, which I'm doing now, but the same time share a part of myself with you guys like we, we can have a bond. We talk to each other this morning here, so we do one more fine section up here. This one's finer and I'm going to be one back home tight to the scalp itch to that rootage. You will see that I left a veil out in each quadrant from all sides. So you see the veil at the top of each quadrant here. There'S a veil here as well and as well as this piece right over here that comes over this way, that veil ensures that everything's, diffused and blended. So when it moves, it's not just like. Oh all, dark on top and light in the bottom. You still have some lowlights kind of coming through which creates separation, dimension and depth. Oh where's, her face oh she's, she's in the shadows, she's in darkness. Right now, let's bring her bring her into the light. Let'S open her up so seriously. You guys, no matter what you're going through it. Sometimes it's painful to talk about right, crystal trauma or dark times, but just remember it makes you stronger. I always say: like you know: the scars are there, but you almost have to say that is living proof that you survive, that fight that empower you, let empower you alright, we're gon na. Let you process and we'll be right back. You guys. I am so excited with crystals result. I mean look at her. Hair is not warm, it's still cool, but it has like the right caramelized like a smoked wood cause, it's perfect for crystal, especially when she turns you can see all the dimension. It looks like she was born with it. Less is more, I mean I feel like with this. I'Ve been it's brought out the best in me and lightened up what was already naturally there. So I love it anyway. Thumbs up subscribe and click the bells, so you could get all the notifications when the new video comes up and definitely follow the girls I'll leave their links below, so you can stock them. Okay, love you much guys to all the hippies in the man, hello, I'm down here. I don't know what that was. This is supposed to be on my dream, then tell me: why am I in this nightmare? Everything is what it seems. You

J.A. Whittler: As a former professional hairstylist, I know that "some" clients enjoy the different conversations being held by us. Some are here for the service but the vast majority enjoy our different conversations in the salon. It's a release from their stressful or regular lives. Some of my former co-workers and myself would have the salon cracking up with our shenanigans and stories, plus it just made our environment much more pleasant. Because we spent more time with each other than our regular families.

Morgan Lee Tay: The words you spoke just brought me to tears. I really needed that encouragement. I am a new hairdresser and just had my first client that was so upset about the outcome of her color correction. I almost wanted to quit altogether. I have been in such a depression and not wanting to go back to the salon. You just reminded me that there is light at the end of this tunnel. Thank you

__e: Thank you for always being so open, honest and raw about rising above adversary and personal struggles. It makes your channel a solace and so real and relatable. I'm so sorry that happened to you. Look at you now... nobody can take your talent or platform away from you! Keep spreading positivity! Amazing result as always, so sunkissed but no brass to be found. Obsessed.

Frankie White: *hair besties* I LOVE a virgin hair redo and these lights look soooo effortless love your channel and hope to be as successful as you one day

Melissa Callia: Guy Tang’s energy is getting me through 2020

Justine Keesee: Love the random chit chat with the lesson. Makes things fun and friendly! beautiful as always

Jackie Osborne: I love it when you tell stories along with the tutorial. It’s what differentiates you and makes you absolutely worth watching!

Sandra C: Love the personal story! It’s what makes our industry set apart. Great job

HairByCC: Love it and love how personable you are! So love that you made light come from the shadow in every aspect of your life! Thanks for sharing your work and for sharing you! Forget the haters ❤️

Kisandra Taylor: I love this. It's such a good idea to take a tiny section out of the thick section and do it closer to the root. You are a genius! I'm totally gonna use this technique behind the chair! Shadow ash series is the best. And I love that you are not a robot and you like to talk to people heart to heart. ❤ I can't wait to meet you and hope to have wonderful real and raw conversations.❤ Love you guy!❤

HueyHuuHieu: You are the best educator this industry has had in a long time !! someone in not even decades of this career to push and work hard and became one of the best educator in the world and also now a CREATOR of a brand !! Haters always gonna hate!! THEY ENVY everything you are and have!! You are working hard, giving away free education and they cant even be remotely a little satisfied? Cannot stand haters... I am glad to have met you and am very appreciate everything you have done for me and all the knowledge you have given me. You are my Hair Idol and Role Model and I can only hope you be as good as you..

Amanda Carr: Guy Tang never stop being anything but your awesome self!! We love you, how raw you are and every awesome hair tutorial vid, look forward to your heart touching stories, high energy and laughs ❤ your the best

Crystal Dao: I always love how you show all sides of yourself in your videos. How funny, nice, strong and vulnerable you can be. Thank you for that. I want to start to understand your line a lot more potentially carry it at the salon I’ll work at. Could you do a video explaining the color line? Explaining all the names and what each does to understand how to formulate and create looks similar to yours. Without having to always follow your formulas? Thank you!!!

Lily Wasserman: Te Amo Guy!! I love how while you educate us on hair you also educate us on emotions. So powerful. Our career is not just doing hair! We are emotionally connected to our clients. Guy!!! Eres divino!!

edismoz: You have amazing hair color tutorials ... but the side conversations are great! ... it keeps things interesting and educational ... keep up the amazing work

TheMspowers2008: Guy, I love watching your videos because you are so open and personal. It's the main reason I stopped going to the salon before Covid-19 hit, I noticed how impersonal my Hairdressers were. They never talk to their clients (me included) and look at me as if I am rude for talking to them, when I try to. So I would rather risk cutting and coloring my own hair at home, than suffer boring, and rude hairdresser. So, keep being open, honest, and personal, we all love you for it :D (kiss kiss)

Dulce Duque: I LOVED IT!! From #Shadows to the #Light !!! I love your mentoring through doing hair!! I just reopened my salon...and after lots of prayer I knew I did not want to name it after my name. I started to use the hashtag #REVIVALMODE on small post about my future project (beauty salon). Simply because coming from the #shadows I found myself in a constant revival mode. So, after much prayer I came up with my salon name, SALON REVIVE! I wanted it to be something that touched our clients. Not only we were #REVIVING their hair BUT through our talks we could also be #REVIVING their soul! Just like you did with Crystal! You reminded her that there is light after dark shadows! Totally LOVE it!! LOVE YOUR PRODUCTS!! LOVE YOUR PERSONALITY!! #SALONREVIVE ♡ #REVIVALMODE #REVIVIENDOJUNTOS #REVIVED

Gipson Bachman: you're such a bright light here on YouTube! i'm loving this movement into talking about your life, reflection and self-realization. all the technical advice is just icing on the top for this hair bestie. xoxoxoxo

Ivana Piperina: Thank you for sharing so much of yourself as a person and a professional. I like you because you're honest and open with us, I always get a lot of motivation and inspiration from your videos. You are a beautiful person ❤️ and since I can't have my hair done to you (I'm from Italy) I've used what I've learned from you to do my hair and I've had great colorful hair for years thanks to you

Drienie de Beer: ❣️I love the fact that you talk about deep things and challanges that we all face! You are a beautiful person! Your passion to make people feel better and love shines through! This is how the world is changed into a better place! Never let your light be dimmed by people who don’t understand you or who are jealous about you! And also remember when the world around you is at its darkest, the stars will shine the brightest! ❣️

Michele Emma: Hi Guy Tang, I love these videos! This might make you cringe but I'm actually a professional henna hair colorist in Santa Barbara, LOL! I just added an organic hair color line so I get more freedom to play, watching the videos I've been able to tie in henna and hair color with lots of discernment and its been awesome. Learning different foiling techniques and tying in different colors, its been so much fun for my hippie clients! They can finally look cool!

The Zen Room & Studio: thank you for sharing this techinque I cant wait to try it out! I love how you have a very heart to heart conversation without engaging in the details of the drama but focus on what you learned about yourself and how it shapes who you Be and how you show up as love and compassion. You are a walking example of how to have conversations that show us love wins. Keep doing we all can benefit from seeing our soul family brothers and sisters doing their best to emanate their light more than having ego run the show - to the best of our ability in any given moment. You rock! You all do ‍♀️

Merrie Pichette: Thank you for being you and letting us learn about you and hair. I enjoy learning about hair but what I love the most is you are open and real with your video's. Much love

kitty B: You're precious and kind you should be proud of all your accomplishments - Your tutorials are genuine because you're honest and sincere -There is a lot of fake tutorias from influencers who pretend to know everything but in reality don't have any idea or knowledge about the products that they try to advertise. Your have your own products + experience + knowledge + charisma = SUCCESS “There will be obstacles. There will be doubters. There will be mistakes. Jae M: Im so glad your not one of those stupid robot education videos. I honestly don't even watch them because they're so boring. Your energy, life exclusions, knowledge and realness is what's up!! and that's why you're videos are my favorite! You make me wanna switch my salon color line out to your line because you're always teaching about it. The line I've been using for years doesn't do hardly any education. I met him & attend his shows in Beauty world Dubai 2017. Everyone was after him to get pictures with him. All were lined up in a queue. I took pictures with him & again I went back to the end of the queue to wait and have more pictures. When I reached him back he remembered me, he smiled & ask "you are here again for more pictures". It was super crowded. I was shocked when he remembers me. I TRULY LOVE HIM & ADORE HIM.

It's Me: I really love all your videos.... I love the way you color all the hair....

Positive Bluebird: You're sense of humor is funny . I can tell this is an older video as you're hair is shorter. Unless you just cut it. Anyway, I am far from being a hair stylist, can't sing since being in a band in the 80's, I could write more.... This tecnique was informative. I wouldn't be able to do this because 1; my bathroom is too small, and 2; I can't see or reach behind my head ‍♀️ Turned out beautiful as always Have a wonderful day my sweet friend ❤️ love and hugs, ⭐PB

Fanny K: I just him! His inappropriate sense of humor is me!

Daniela Friedrich: You have cut your Hair. But both suits you well. By the way beautiful naturally colour. Love it.
