Hello, my friends: what is up and welcome back to my channel today, we are going to do some awesome little prism, rainbow pops with a gorgeous purple base. So my model Gina has this wonderful icy blonde, but her root section is very, very golden, so we're going to be doing a darker shadow root to help tone that out for our base root color today I am mixing velvet with a little bit of Nirvana or Blue mousse, I'm mixing more of a blue tone into this darker purple for the root to help tone out that golden blonde and control warmth as the color fades. Our formulation for the mids and ends is going to be powder into lilac, I'm using about equal parts, and that is going to give us a gorgeous almost periwinkle purple color, and it is just absolutely stunning. I'M only going to use three different colors for our prisms. Today, our yellow is going to be straight lemon, the pink tone and our prism colors is going to be a mixture of candy and blush, and our blue-green color is going to be straight decoy. For most of this color, it's going to be a basic color melt. I'M using our darker purple formula to cover all of those golden sections at the root, and then I am melting into our pastel purple tone for the mids and ends we're only going to be doing a few prism sections. But the way that we're going to be placing them will make it look like there's a ton of different colors running through her hair, I'm starting out on one of our front sections and I'm just basing around the entire section with our dark purple formula. Then the first section above the ear is going to be a color melt into our lighter pastel formula. Then I will start taking a few prism sections through this first section. This is going to be our first prizm section and when I haven't based it with our darker base formula and then I'm going to be melting down into our prism colors so from our darker purple, I melted into pink, then yellow, then our teal, and then I'm Going to finish off this section by doing the ends with our lighter pastel purple formula, I'm running my hands over it just to make sure that it's all blended and then I'm going to be doing one more section like this directly on top. So we have a nice little prism chunk through this first section. I also went back and melted in some of our lighter purple and between the darker base and the pink just to help ease that transition. After finishing our rainbow, I'm just going to place another machine directly on top to make sure nothing smudges into those colors. Then I'm going to be color melting using our purple formulas for a few more sections before adding another prism section a few inches of the head. I'M gon na start adding in a few more rainbow panels towards the top of the section, and I'm going to do this. The same way that we did our previous ones melting into pink, then yellow, then our teal color and then finishing off with the lighter purple. At the ends, we're going to continue this pattern all the way around the head throughout all of our sections, alternating between a few subsections of our color melts and a few subsections of our rainbow panels. This way, you'll have a nice base with those pretty prisms popping through here's, a few shots of the processing color. So you guys can see exactly where the prisms and the color mounts are laid, there's only about eight little prison sections going throughout her entire head. But when they dry and expand it will look like you did it so many little tiny rainbows all over the place. We let Gina's hair process for about 25 minutes at room temperature. Now we're going to blow out in style. So we can all check out the finished effect together, and here is the final product and obsessed with the way, those little tiny, rainbows just peek through all over her hair, and it looks like we did it so many little panels when we all know that we Only did eight, which is one of my favorite things, getting an awesome result from working smarter, not harder. If you guys try this technique at home or on any of your clients, don't forget to tag me on social media, so I can see what you did. Janille Butler: Omg I am so glad I happened to see this! I'm not a hairdresser-im just a 42yr old trying all the fun colors b4 I feel too old for it to look right lol. Have been messing around w lots of semi permanent colors but have been desperate to do a shine line or peekaboo highlight situation, but all the vids I've watched are too difficult for someone who's not a hairdressers to do,but THIS IS PERFECT!! Not too difficult & BEAUTIFUL RESULT! Thank you so much!!

charlyne1: Outstanding work!!! Thanks for the video! I am a stylist for 35 years and I've done this but I am telling you, you did a wonderful job and video. I have been using mainly pravana for years, I have used pulp riot and joico some but you have me re-thinking pulp riot, I guess I didn't realize that it doesn't bleed into the other colors like pravana does which is very important. Thanks again for the great video!

jose ortiz: Omg great job!!!! When you were blow drying she had such a huge smilemakes me so happy. I CANT WAIT to do this behind the chair!!! Like you said, work smarter not harder

Shannon Stoner: Hey, Kate! I think you have shown that the rainbow effect can be taken to the gorgeous extreme of perfection in this video. Wow! You're just so right about working smarter and not harder! Can you suggest another base color for me to use? I'm not crazy about the purple, and lean more towards the blue colors. I'm naturally pure silver, Kate; my hair is long and quite beautiful (so I'm told) but I really want to color it with the rainbow prism like your video. Whaddya think?

Elle Jiver: I sent this to my hairdresser and going for it next weekend. I'm struggling with what to choose for base colour tho. Rose gold? Cool rose? Raspberry? Scarlet? I think it will be a coin flip! I really REALLY do want my hair done by you tho, once we can travel again....

Arrianna S: Do your clients come in with ideas for their hair or do they let you pick what colors and design you want? (I know both but more often)

DoodleDoughnuts Crafts: ooouu I wish I had long hair now!!! I'd love this ! u did a super job

G Lavigne: what would i GIVE to have this hair but my stubborn dark hair will never bleach to a level 9/10 :/

Marifer Ortega: Can I use different hair dye brand? I love this I’m currently in cosmetology school and I want to do it on my blonde mannequin and my head lol I loved it so much what are the name of the colors if I use different brand? Thanks in advance ☺️

Gabrielle Nadeau: How long did this take you to apply??

mlečan: oh god not me wanting this kinda hair now ✨

Anne Yates: Beautiful

pinkiepie7823: Would this still have a similar holo effect if I kept my base my natural color? Im a brunette naturally.
