So I have some new hair from perfect locs calm and I received three bundles of virgin curly hair and my first silk base closure. Now, if you don't know what a silk based closure is it's quite different from a lace closure where you can see the knots in the lace from the ventilating. In this case, it has a silk backing that simulates actual scalp or your scout color, where you can't see the knots and it makes sure parting and your custom wigs look a lot more natural. Now in this video I will be sewing the entire wig using my sewing machine. So I do recommend a specific cap to do this and it is the: u part, wig caps buy to fit. You should be able to find these in your local beauty, supply store or any beauty supply store online I'll make sure I have some links in the description box where you can find them now. These caps are very similar to other wig weaving caps, except for it has a u-shape opening at the top crown of the cap. So this allows you to either have your hair out or you can attach a closure like I will be doing in this video. So I'm going to start by cutting the string and the elastic adjusters in the back off the cap, because I don't care for them. Then I'm going to start sewing the tracks onto the cap, making sure the tracks lay flat to the cap. I'M using a zig-zag stitch to sew the tracks on to this cap as well, and I also had to cut the tracks. So the edges are flat and it's easier to sew than to try to do a fold-over method, always backstitch at the beginning and the end of your tracks for security. The goal here is to try and lay the tracks about a finger or two apart now. Here you can see what it looks like. I used a lighter thread so that it was clearer for you to see the results. So now I'm going to finish the rest of the way, with black thread continue to sew. Until you get the Lacey or until you get to the Lacey part of the cap, then you can attach the closure. Now, from this point on, I used my canvas wig head and I hand sewn the closure and the rest of the tracks onto the cap. So here's what the final results are with the closure installed and it has an opening. So you don't have to cut anything before installing, I like to add my own elastic band to the ear tabs for my own custom fit. So this is just a quick install just to see how it fits and would look 1 and I'm going to use the design essentials edge tamer for my natural hair, this stuff smells so good and it lays my edges down nicely. So I'm installing it as a middle part, even though I can do it as a side part, and I noticed that the silk based closure doesn't really match my scalp color. So I'm just going to lay it close to my hairline. For now I love using the Moroccan oils, curl defining cream on curly or wavy hair. All I do is just apply to define the texture. I did not have to layer cut or do any styling to this hair, just let it air dry from the product. So my edges look pretty good, but not satisfied with the color of the silk based closure. I will upload a redo on fixing this later. You got any tips. Let me know in the comment below otherwise this is it. If you want to know more about how I make wigs check out these playlists and I'll, see you in the next video

TwinGodesses: Never thought about using a sewing machine to make wigs. Hmmm...I may have to invest in one now lol. It came out beautifully! Love it!!

Chide lovesyou: this is some very good inspiring tips. thanks for sharing. my only problem would be on how to get that wig cap. cannot find it near me. love from ITALY.

sade watkins: YEOOOOOOOOOOOO THIS IS GENIUS  i thought about this but the fact that you did it just really helped confirm my notion AMAZING JOB  btw i don't recommend silk base closure the hype is not worth it. i find they never match various completed skin people. just my opinion. hair looks great though. thanks for the tutorial

love jones: Which setting did you use on your sewing machine? Tensions, width, length??

Tenisha Bibbs: Hello, I wanted to know is there a particular needle and pressure foot or can I just us the basic standard.

Cicely Clinkscales: Love it!!!! You're skills and talent are amazing. Thank you, Queen for sharing. Your contribution helps so many of us. I just love your channel.

Janel Thomas: Do you stretch the cap as you sew? I'm just curious because I would love to do this but I don't want the fit to be wrong.

Monique Adam: Mind. Blown. I absolutely appreciate you sharing this. I have been wanting to make myself a wig, but don't want to sew by hand. The hot glue was a great tip, but I think machine sewing is even better. Perhaps for the silk part, you could consider a foundation powder using a small make up brush. I would experiment with pigments until you find the right blend to lighten the look of the "scalp."

KGlam08: This is amazing! <3

Ricertopia: Woahhhh I never thought about using a sewing machine! Great job!

CraftingWithAprilD: Thank you sooooo much for this vid and tips! My sewing machine has been in a box after I tried doing this w/out any guidance and it was a disaster! Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!

GodDess Complex TV: I love your videos, I am a long time subbie :) I want to start making wigs for others using a sewing machine, but how would I make sure it fits right? Have you ever done a wig with a lace frontal?

Monebyrd: Ohh my !! The hair is gorgeous! Please update on how to fix the silk closure! Thanks sis for sharing!

Madusa Guddess: Thank you for using a different color thread at start !!!!! Not many sewing videos (of all kinds) do that

Amber l: Are you sewing through the wefts or right below it? Does sewing through them cause shedding

abandonedfate: Great video! Thanks for the zigzag tip!

MUA_Larisa: I'm soooo glad I found you!!!!

Kimberly Robertson: so nice I am glad I found your videos, I hope I can find stuff for blonds I am going to so try this :) love it that was great :)

Ms. Raya Danielle York: Looks great!

This Is What I Do: I love that hair! It gorgeous! You a amazing job!

Kay TV: Hey @BeautyCutright You can lighten the scalp of the silk closure by bleaching the roots.

Fiona Symone: Do you recommend a particular sewing machine brand or model for a beginner?

Gerry Gold: Wonderful wig. How long did it take you to saw the wefts on with the sawing machine. ?? Can you make your own closure on the machine. ? Silk closure,, Lace closure or secret parting ??

naturalree81: Could you just make your scalp darker with foundation or concealer? I guess that makes since or would that look crazy?

Tiara Johnson: @BeautyCutright I am SOOO happy you used those wig caps I just brought one an wanted a tut on it

Brandi Jackson Wellness: Great result!

Neezy: Hey babe! Great video! There are plenty of videos on here on how to tint your silk based closure with dye or even black tea, please go ahead and search for those and see if it would be something you want to do.

Karresse: I'm so new to this! What is the benefit of having a U-part wig? Or, what is the difference? What can you do with it vs. a full wig? Does the U-part wig require a closure, your own hair? S.O.S.!!! LOL

go4thandconquer: Great job!!!

Ms. Jess: What kind of suture are you using? I tried to use the regular sew in string but it keeps getting stuck.

Libragal: Can you do an update on how to make a wig using the sewing machine!???? Please thanks

LuClu81: Always amazed by your talent. I've others use foundation on the part to blend it, u might want to try it. Amazon deal of the day some day in the week was a seeing machine and I thought of you. I was very tempted to purchase. Groupon also has a hand held one too. I bought 2 pairs of slacks and since I had weight loss surgery I know they won't fit soon. They're Calvin Kleins and a great fit so I'd prefer adjusting them rather than giving them away. I'd prefer adjusting most of my clothing instead of giving them away since they are high quality pieces.....here I go rambling lol. Keep up the great work sister and keep inspiring us. You're appreciated!!

OneWay Rompers: Skills all around

AFREEME: ADORBS!

Eeky Kinger: Wat een inspiratie meisje ,,dit wil ik wel uitproberen ,,,heel erg snel gedaan

Sammy J: Do you know if this can be done on a weaving cap, the mesh kind with holes.

Sher Morrison: it beautiful and more easy to sewing than use in your hand good job thank u

Sis Tasha: Great Job!!!

Gloria Brand: You're talented.

EverythingEboni: I have a video on my page that explains how to prevent the wig from stretching if anyone is interested. This was a great video btw. Thanks for sharing

Dee Harris: how do u keep the cap from being too tight while sewing ? does it matter what the machine setting is? please share

Erika Ross: did u use a longer zigzag stitch or a shorter on and do u sew over the seams on the cap to insure a stretch?

MeauxGee: Totally looks like you permed your hair lol. Nice work!

sweetnurse mcgee: Girl you saved me some coins, thank sis!!!

Tiffany Abron Nelson: Go on with your baad self sister!!! I would love to meet you at a convention  one day ...what state do you love in?

Josie Are-see: Omg. I just bought a sewing machine. Im very excited to try this

Erika Ross: ensure

april shannon: Did you use the zig zag stitch to make sure that the hair would stretch along with the cap? I'm also a seamstress,so this would be faster for me instead of hand sewing! Great idea!

Paula Nkem: do you have classes, where one can meet you and learn ?

peepla7: what brand sewing machine?

mpressions4u: Hi. What kind of sewing machine is this? What kind do you recommend? 17 stitch? 20 stitch?

SewBeautiful Hair: did you sew the hair onto the ear tabs as well?

RoyalStateTV: What kind of sewing machine do you recommend?

Blissfulchew: How long did it take you to complete the wig? It looks like the machine made it quickly...smh now you have me wishing I could sew and own a machine. You did a great job

Mamaton: is really healp  thanks so much ...

Krysten Smith: What size needle did you use? My needle keeps breaking...just switched to my third needle...HELP PLZ!

Jenna Roscoe: Do you make wigs for others? I really like all your wigs!

Jesus Christ Christian Ministry: bleach the silk to lighten it

mpressions4u: How do you keep the cap from not shrinking and changing shape? Folding over?

Shanta Hartman: are the the tracks thin? the hair that I get i may need a walking foot lol

Chrissy: I knew you were talented, but a wig on a machine? Gurllll!!!! I like!

BrokeRichDesigns: How secure is the wig since you didn't see it down ?

Patricia Cassoma: Adorei e muito fixe

Mind Your Makeup: Have you ever heard of a reversible sew in or the invisible versatile hairline sew in?? If so could you do a tutorial for it. I'm having trouble with weft placement and getting my wefts super flat with the fold over method! Thanks

mszeee: RIT DYE from Walmart can help with the closure color. Tired and tested method for me

Let Me Share my Story: When I used the sewing machine it was fast and simple but my with was too small

E_Angel03: I have a question : I see that the wig cap already comes with an elastic adjustable strap, did you sew over this elastic strap part ? When I hand sew my wigs, I usually skip over the elastic part or else the wig cap won't stretch. Were you still able to stretch the strap after you sewed over it ?

Tenisha Bibbs: Also were is a great place to get the silk base....

Julie Elle: HI, did you have any issues with fitting after the hair was sown onto the cap? I am not a fan of the net wig caps because my head is small.

Tenisha Bibbs: what type of thread to use

SIMORE ELLEBY: This is nice

Medusa Hair Company: I see that you are using brother machine ? But may I ask do you know which model machine ? And do you also use the same foot that comes on machine.

mszeee: Please did you put all 3 bundles in? Merci

Trey Watson: I'm a little late, but have you tired foundation on the lace to match your skin tone?

Sharaine Hudson: what kind of thread was used?

Kelly Elle Artistry: What thread did you use? Fabric or hair thread?

Phoenix Blacc: I am definitely interested in using a sewing machine to make wigs.  I'm a beginner.  I used the same type of cap that you did (before seeing this video) and when I completed the wig t was too small.  What is the best way to avoid making your wig too small when you and hand sewing it?  Is it as likely to happen with the hot glue method?

brandelina: i love that curl cream for extensions, but it smells SO awful. did you find that you had any problems with the size of the finished cap, since you were sewing it on the machine and not stretching the cap to your actual head size?

Kimora Petroff: I have a question does it matter the type of sewing machine

Brooklyn Baby: Can I fit 5 bundles on ?

lavonia martin: I'm going to have to try this hand sewing takes to long at times for me I have to time from my arm pain can I do this with hair thread

Happiness Happiness: Pls is this a hand machine?great job u did babe.

Lily Seymour: Daunting at the beginning and end of the tracks works best.... wonderful job but why didn't you just machine sew the closure using a ziz-zag stitch?  Shave off a little hair from the bottom of the closure, machine sew it down then sew a track over it.

Georgytte Akosua: what type of thread did you use by the way ?

LadyJustice: Did that site really have the wig making caps for 30$??? Did I see that right!?? Lol. Girl u did that wig though!!!

Amanda Holbert: Was just wondering if this was possible!! A couple questions if you don't mind. 1)does it cause excess shedding or could it possibly add security due to extra security? 2) did this method allow enough flexibility to pull in a decent ponytail? I would love to try this instead of spending hours sewing!

willibaird b: well yes i hv seen everything now...wow

D.angelnaturel: You can put a little or your fondation to match your skin color
