Testing 5 Ways To Lighten Your Hair Naturally - Avoid One That Ruined My Hair

Spring and Summer are upon us, and we wanted to put to the test some homemade DIY and natural hair lighteners to see if we could get lighter, blonder hair. Do these at home hair lighteners really work? We tried cheap ways to lighten your hair using natural products you could easily find in your pantry at home, that are extremely affordable. But which ones are the best bang for the buck, won't damage your hair, and compliment that gorgeous Summer tan? Let's find out!

*Fair Warning* We didn't test these products/solutions for weeks on end, our results are the end of a one-time use, so damage may not be apparent after one use as it may be after continual use. Please be cautious when using any hair lightening product whether from the shelf or homemade! The last thing we'd want is for you to damage your hair or make your hair fall out, but these options certainly make your hair brighter, lighter, and blonder!

Oh, what have we done? You are made really losing hair right now. Welcome back a lot days, late God since spring and summer are right around the corner. We would try some natural home DIY, hair, lightening techniques and see which one works best. Don'T you see if they actually work, so I just recently had mayor color-treated: look how beautiful nothing look, how beautiful how to get my roots done, because my grades are coming in so so we're gon na. Do my hair we're gon na start with justice hair and if it seems like a thing that I might really, I really don't know if it would work on yours anyway, because it's so much darker disclosure, because art said to damage your hair dry. Um just know that it could really dry out your hair, but today we are gon na try, five different techniques, one of them, which is a store-bought, but it's still like a very similar formula. It still has the hydrogen peroxide the lemon, along with a few other things, costed 16 dollars. For this thing, oh yeah, so I want to find out if this is actually worth so, let's just uh I'm gon na. Let you go to town well, control, yeah, so we'll do like two on each side and then one in the back wait. Are you sure you want to do it like on top of your head? What, if isn't life it kills your hair, then I'll be really sad I'll, be waste. I really really don't think it will. So, let's do that. We surely these at-home treatments never really worked that well anyway, the one that I used to use it is just lemon juice and hydrogen peroxide. I used to douse my hair in this and it actually did work quite well. Let me show you what I used to do, though I would just do my mullet. This is what I used to do sibel put in a big spray bottle. I would certainly eyeball it, though, do you like heads not enough, which is probably a dangerous formula for your hair? Yes, it's a gentleman special, so we'll just do half half the recipe. So we then we need 1/6 of a cup of lemon juice which is half of a third of a cup. Oh magic, nothing like it in the world. It'S a hundred percent juice, certainly chamomile. Tea is one of those ingredients that is supposed to really do some lightening for your hair, strong chamomile tea with a teaspoon of honey. I already made that blend right. Wow, we've just got a regular honey in there in this bowl and then some lemon juice. This recipe with how much letter. Thank you, okay, I didn't say how much lemon juice. It is. No, it's another eyeballing thing, okay, what are we putting in this? One is straight lemon dude. I was thinking trying the straight lemon yeah. I wanted to see what the straight Oh fresh, lemon yeah. Oh, so we got some fresh lemon for this. Why would you cut? How many do we need? I think, just one. I think what you'll do is just kind of take a streak and just rub it on okay, so we've got one two, three, four four. We can pour that in there. I guess I go at night, sir. This is fun. I like homemade natural beauty, stuff. I hope it works, or this will be really boring, we'll be like. Oh time has passed and nothing happened often so here's the thing we were supposed to have a UV light to simulate some sunlight to use on my hair cuz. These are supposed to hurt off my one job. We are gon na. Take it step outside after okay, I'm nothing you're gon na, be the hair tire offer. Okay, take a good chunk, good chunk. It size chunk enough to fit to across the back. So one two three four five turn turning around: that's pretty bad! Okay! Don'T worry! Okay, okay, that's right over here, so they can work our way around. Alright we're getting somewhere. I mean okay put your head, but you know what it's silly as this is. I feel like this was every experience when I did DIY hair stuff, but it was always do it. It is I'm really trying my best to not make you look like freak. If this actually we're gon na be salon with quality, highlights is good option now, which one was this: this is the chamomile tea lemon dip dip ready to wash your hair. After this, this is making your hair gummy, maybe flipside. I cannot we're making waves everybody making progress doing things, I'm not doing this. The way it's my best one, the honey, oh yeah, right, everybody head this way, cuz that one's gon na be sticky. Is it I think it's gon na pay actual honey in it. This is the strong tea, honey and lemon juice concoction, I'm afraid for what might happen really sticky? I probably should have had you brush that why to list that one I will definitely have to wash out afterwards. I did not anticipate the messy the messiness I'm getting dripped on all over the place. This is why I would go outside and do it we're doing, and I really like I wouldn't dunk my head in a bowl and spray it all over. This works straight lemon juice. Oh my gosh, I'm getting splashed on my knee. This is actually working quite well. You know what you could do is take both of the lemons. Oh, oh you see yeah in between now she talking you got pulp in here. I'Ll! Do every so often I'll squeeze and then just work it in this is great and then working well. I wrote urea in your hair, whatever I'm curious to see about this one, it was like pineapple, mm-hmm and coconut smells like it smells really good man about some duck. It does so far. This is the best you can mix that with lemon juice. Who gave me this job? I don't know what I was thinking. This is malarkey. This can tired. Can you imagine hairstylist that do this stuff all day, long crazy, you guys are the real heroes one more pass. This is probably overkill. Wait. I got one right here: yeah, I'm just gon na use my feet. No, you see why hair stylists have multiple combs in that we're good. In my arms, tired as oh now, it's titled a dry mop, we're gon na go outside. Give you guys a little blondie blog, you can see my deck will give you decked or excited, may as well. Stick with the theme and make some pink lemonade sit down in the sunshine like 20 minutes, maybe see let him dry see. What happens. Reminds me of my college days, I'm a time sun-soaked in United. These babies know about country time lemonade. That'S what this quality of every time. I visit a bad country time to hear who would sneak into the kitchen after the parents gone to bed and eat mouthful country time lemonade powder. I was, and I think, tub type of girl I mean I did that too and cake batter and young five chili cheese slices for some reason. That'S a healthy dog. This nineties hair is bringing a $ 90 back to our glory days. So we've got the Jess special I feel like this is already working which one this is honey. This was a camomile honey handle, and this was straight lemons, do not put honey o in your hair. Please the honey, the back. Why it's got ta, be something look at that with the team and the peroxide look at this? Oh, what have we done? You are made your losing hair right now. Oh, look! It'S just coming out. Oh no, it just doesn't stop okay. I need to look as breaking I just like grab the bees and it just broke. I'M shocked, though, that it's it's one of the battery sure I'm pretty sure it's either the one in the back or straight lemon. Did you pull it from right here yeah? I feel like I pulled it from the back okay, so that was the honey destroy the strong tea yeah yeah. No, your hair girl, no I'm gon na be bald. No, I kinda. Do you think that this one like when I look in the mirror at it? I do think that this one did is the best there's more lightness up here. Huh. You know how your hair was dark darker up here and it did seem to like not more great, we're just go to your salon and gosh don't have your hair. So, let's do it, I regret this already. Oh no does it look later it does like look down here. Like looks like a different color slightly. I see I wouldn't say it looks lighter. It looks like it changed the color, maybe a little orange err. Maybe sometimes I feel like wow I'm having some breakage. Maybe these are a little bit more harmful than I am painted. Now, from what I could see, I feel like the store-bought one and my justice special, that's like they made more of a difference, definitely did something, but I think, in order to get the full effect, you probably have spent a lot of time out in the Sun. So here's the lemons which your lemons honestly nasty, the lemons make my hair feel dead and dry and I'm a little concerned. I'M sure you don't watch out I'm on a deep conditioner to use after this kind of. Can you see anything can be anything really, but is it like a different type of color than this change now? This definitely has more of a brassy, copper look uh-huh, and this one looks more orange to me really so makes me curious, because both of the ones that we used in front have hydrogen peroxide in them, and I think that might be kind of a secret trick. Cuz, I don't feel like any of these. Other ones are really doing too much. This was the honey, so that's gon na be real, sticky yeah. This one didn't did nothing look at that. Nothing I mean it just looks like you got honey in my hair. This is nothing nothing really. I didn't really expect much from that one. It seems like there's like a tiny bit of lightness right here, but I think that just might be. Your hair was already like that. I don't know so. This definitely looks different. Let me compare that, definitely is very something. This is like all the way through it is later. This was just a special special Diamond juice and hydrogen peroxide, half and half the string is at least and your hair soft still. It feels honestly feels better than it good is there any of them yeah, which is surprising cuz? This has like seven chemical. This feels the best just as special everyone does that the traitor this was the chamomile tea and lemon. I don't tell the difference here. I really think that chamomile tea dilutes it a lot and it will take longer if it doesn't okay. These two are definitely married. They'Re, definitely winners, but it's also because you're here with later in the ride, begin with. Let us know in the comments if we can ease much of a difference. So if I go like this, do you see any side? That'S lighter! Well, I feel like more so my color is more consistent on this side. That'S what I thought too, all the way through looks lighter all around. I think that's the winner, if you're trying to lighten your hair at home, I really don't know how damaging this is, but it seems to work the best and it's honestly, probably the cheapest yeah. This 1618 bucks - I really don't know it's a. It smells really good worth it, but it has pretty much the same basic ingredients when it comes down to it. Second ingredient is hydrogen peroxide, it's got some perfumes in it and then it's got lemon oil. There'S like little Blondie's up here now there you have it, I'm glad that we didn't do this to your hair. Yes, that would have been sad yeah me too. You make sure you get a shower, I'm looking really light the more you move your head around and then we're gon na see. I really didn't. I really do think these two lightens the light shades and it just brings a little bit of that sunkissed, let's see or something. Ah, oh yeah whip the hair back and forth with the hair back and forth. If you guys are interested in trying this I'll link it below gosh, I honestly, I don't know if it's worth it though, but it's fair, it does smell bad, so I will give it that, but it does smell like that banana boobs, a lot yeah. That being said, it probably is less less harsh than what I just put on this hair over here. So I know it might be the same, my hair, if my hair just falls out in chunks. Okay, if it does anything else, beauty related that you guys want to see us try reviews. Do you shave on each other's head, not doing that? What is it know in the comments I have funny question Brian brought me back to my like high school days. Yeah reboot relive in the 90s man country, time lemonade and my new hair. No, it's more lemonade. Bye, everybody, ding

Nadifo Abrar: Brad mondo should see thiss

Baleigh Boley: Did anyone else not realize she was pregnant till they were standing in the bathroom...

Devila103: Lemon will bring out the blonde highlights in lighter hair. Being brunette, I would use cranberry juice and water to bring out the red highlights in my hair.

Vixtion: I watched these girls for only 3 minutes and they remind me of a chill female version of rhett and link

Kelly: Funny story.....When my parents first met my Dad's hair was really blonde and my Mom loved it. Twenty five years ago for my Mom's birthday, my Dad got the bright idea to use peroxide only to lighten his hair. He showed up to her surprise party with orange hair and he's never lived it down. ‍♀️

Lorelei: Her ‘I’m loosing a lot of hair’ me; *Loses more hair just showing*

Mary Jefferson: Back in the day, my sister used Sun-In to "lighten" her hair. She had dark brown to start with. It turned her hair ORANGE. This was right before her best friends wedding. The bridesmaids were supposed to be wearing a mauve color. Boy did it CLASH. The best friends mother was so ticked about my sisters hair color. They made her wear a spring hat to cover her hair. WOW. Love your videos. Keep them coming. Good luck.

Israa Osama: If you’re here because of quarantine like this comment

Maggie Humbert: The hair loss may be because of your pregnancy. The added hormones can screw things up...that's why hair salons advise pregnant customers to wait until after the birth to dye or perm their hair.

Grace Swan: I'd be really surprised if it was the honey that caused the breakage. Honey is supposed to be really nourishing for hair

Dannie&Mikeey: I would make a litter of chamomile tea and wet my whole hair with it (room temperature!!) And put a small towel soaked and over a shower cap. I'd leave it in for an hour and it would get lighter real quick. My natural hair is dark brown

Monique favorites: it just be freshly squeeze lemon. I was blond when younger and try 1/2 cup chamomile tea, half lemon juiced and 1Tbsp of conditioner and sprayed on my hair (sat in the sun for 20 minutes, got in sprayed again and suntan for another 20 minutes). then wash and conditioner. the results were fantastic. i’m even thinking I won’t need to pay for highlights anymore. i’m 56 (my hair got darker years after giving birth) now they are back to what my hair was at 35 yo. cheap and effective.

Michelle Marie: Does anyone elses hair just get lighter by just spending time outside in sunlight with no products?

Julia Allade: One recipe I’ve heard is hydrogen peroxide, lemon, vinagar, and conditioner. Then you put it in your hair and warp it in tin foil as if you’re dying your hair. From what I’ve seen it works really well.

GenKat Qltr: Definite changes in the front two. Looks like major highlighting. Just spending time in the sun alone always bleached my hair out. Of course having fine, golden to strawberry-ish to ash blonde hair makes a big difference. Blonde hair can change color naturally over the years. Now at 67, it's white with a faint golden sheen. Prettiest color since I was a baby. People like it. If course now that my hair is good, the bod is shot! Lol! Such is life.

anna burtenheim: Hey jess, Im a licensed hairstylist. and i just want to say that, this breakage isnt the worse case in the world. stop stuffing your hair with gunk! And take a look at your hair products.. if your shampoo contain sulfate and your conditioner silicon then the reason your hair is feeling extra dry might be because the citric acid takes away that silicon residue. not sure if you know this but the sulfate used in shampoo is just like a milder form of soap. like dish soap. but the reason it is in there is because silicon which also dries out your hair isnt water soluble. it needs sulfate to be able to get it out of your hair. so take a look at your bottles if you dont activly purcase with that in mind. also look at the list in form of how high alcohol is on the list.. the higher the more there is of it. try hair oils without silicons and alcohol like morocaan argan oil or even just straight virgin coconut oil.

Rae: Back in the day i used to use this stuff called "sun in" and then sit in the sun all summer long after drenching my hair in it all the time lmao. It worked but my hair was crust. Also it wasnt a huge difference like it took quite some time for mediocre results and extreme dryness

Brenda: I need friends like this.... ..... I need friends.

Taylor Ardoin: This makes me feel like I was just at a slumber party with jess and holly I remember doing this as a kid!!

Kate Roth: Your hair was still wet in the back too which will make it hard to tell if it got any lighter. But when you lighten darker brown hair it has to go through the underlying pigments before it gets to blonde. Which is reddish brown, orange, gold, then blonde.

Ramona Shearer: As a teen I would use lemon juice or buy sun in. Now my grey is in style! LOL How about trying different deep conditioners. And different ways to get dead skin off and soften your feet.

Betty-Alexandria Pride: I never lightened my hair when I was younger, but I laughed so hard at the country time lemonade.

Liz Skelton: I used to use sun in all the time, totally works and looks great, but I’m naturally blonde, level 7 so dark blonde.

instant_mint: I really appreciate this video, I was looking for someone comparing these methods! Thank you!

J3llyB3an: manaise, lemon juice, and peroxide mix together. The manaise keeps it moisturized and strips it from everything that might be on any strand dirt wise, color wise allowing the other two to lighten it. while you use the harshness of the other two on it. Then rinse with water and apple cider vinegar followed by regular shampooing. The vinegar gets the oils of manaise out, and the shampoo gets everything out in the end. But cant get the oil out without the vinegar.

My Kind Of Reality: If anyone is here to find a way to lighten your hair that actually works. Recently, I've been using baking soda and developer. You're supposed to 10 vol but all I had was 30 and it worked fine, no hair loss or damage! Theres multiple ways you can use it and it doesn't have to be with developer... you can use shampoo! The first time I used it I used baking soda, developer and clarifying shampoo all mixed in. The second time, which took it a step further, I used baking soda, developer and john freida blonde shampoo (the yellow one that lightens hair anyway) I had purple and black hair - I stripped my hair with a colour remover and my hair turned green and black. I gave my hair a couple days of rest between every application to make sure it was well washed out because it takes awhile to wash it out and now my hair, after both baking soda applications, is blonde and brown (the black was a demi permanent colour which is real hard to lift out your hair without bleach and it seems to be coming out of my hair inch by inch, lifting from the root and downwards!) The blonde is platinum towards the roots. Hope this helps someone! So whilst all these ingredients can dry your hair out, it doesn't wreck your hair. They're not exactly amazing for your hair but they're not something you HAVE to steer clear from - Lemon juice is used in the CG method to clarify hair so it STRIPS your hair of EVERYTHING and dries it out - fiddle with hella dried out, unconditioned hair, you'll get breakage.

Dana Fidler: Sun in is the same as the $15 one and works really well. You just use a dryer after applying it, instead of having to be out in the sun!

Stephanie Bowden: I’m pretty sure you’re not supposed to lighten your hair when you’re pregnant because of the fact that it falls out so much easier

ModernGoddess: Because of quarantine I just learned how to bleach my hair using peroxide and baking soda...it really works! It’s slower than bleach but it will lift pigment! I had tried bleaching my roots last month and didn’t leave the bleach on long enough so it was orange The peroxide/baking soda lifted the orange out! And my now medium dark brown roots lifted a few levels with some gorgeous blonde highlights! So from now on I’m going to do this once a month to have natural easy highlights all through the year! No more salon/bleach for me! Just need to condition after because it’s very drying, but definitely less harsh than bleach

Faith Antone: "The Jess Special"... LOVE IT GIRLFRIENDS! VERY brave of u Jess to try this on your beautiful head of hair...

TJ R: I appreciate the compliment I have been a hair dresser for Four year in NY and omg I feel so bad for your hair and I'm half way through the video and there were so many violations in this

Emily Murison: Still make country time lemonade every summer it’s the best

iheartsummer87: Hair stylist arms are no joke. My back is a mess so that why I’m friends with a massage therapist

Michelle W: You need to invest in cosmetology doll heads for the hair and make up videos

Rico Suave: Half and half (or until it forms a paste) of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide mixture works for me, did that to my hair for 30-40 minutes and lightened about 4 shades lighter and has lasted about 6 months now, (has faded though)

Jennie Dowdle: Lol I used imitation lemon juice in a spray bottle after my shower. It works real well with a blow dryer as well as the sun. When I used that or Sun In spray it kept working even after washed out.

Malak Abdallah: Thanks for this video !!! I tried another method on my channel - I mixed a lot of lightening ingredients to see what would happen

Pat Seemore: I'm 66 and still eat Country Time and Lemon flavored Ice Tea powders!

Brandi: i use honey on my hair but i make sure my hair is wet and i mix it with conditioner and then let it set for 10 mins and then rinse it out. My hair is normally a dirty blonde btw

Jenna Molitor: I might have to try the lemon juice and hydrogen peroxide! I love hollys glasses and her watch band!!! I think you two should try fake tans! Maybe homemade and store bought aha

lynx0206: fun to watch---wish i was a teenager again

Isul드라마: If you want to lightening your hair you should avoid putting too much lemon juice it irritates the scalp especially if you use this recipe a lot . The ginger juice brightened the hair it should be applied with a spray and exposed o sun and do it 1 week. After taking a break and put care let the hair rest. Made a chamomile tea add honey and a little of lemon juice with aloe vera gel for hair hydration add solution in a spray. And expose yourself to the sun and do this for 1 month but take a break It could damage the hair. And you will see the difference of the first week. The problem of natural lightening is that the hair becomes dry so it is important to bring hydration oil, aloe vera ... I advise you to recover hair from your brush is test the recipe to see if you like the color you would not get to a blond but a hazelnut or coppery. I think the hair loose is the lemon juice not honey i put mask recipe with honey i not have hair loose.

Erin S: Wow your hair ended up beautiful!

Wolfgirl: Hey Jess, since i am a hairstlyist...little tip. Hydrogen peroxide is the main ingredient in developers that are used to activate lightener and colour. Also doing really acidic products ie lemon, straight on your hair is taking the pH way too low which is why it is dry and breaking.

Fay Pendleton: As a teenager, I remember using sun in on my hair and straight baby oil on my skin.... For years! I freak out now knowing what damage I caused. Love, From Florida

Rama Thiam: When you’re bored with your best friend

Clarissa Em: anyone else super into how good holly's arms look?

winny herfel: When jess said E L F COOKIES instead of elf cookies haha

Vasiliki-Maria Gkotsi: Finally new video <3

Chloe Hernandez: i used a whole bottle of sun bum cause my mom said it would lighten my hair and now i went from brunnette to blonde

Ivy Williams: Holly and Jessica you always make my day

Jamerra Roberts: I’ve done so much shit to my hair that when it’s starts falling out i pretty much see it as normal so when she started freaking out I’m just like “hm? Oh yeah totally not supposed to happen i think”

Gil Shoham: Yo you have phoebe’s voice

Lesley Plunkett: I am laughing because I used Sun In as well. If I recall I actually had a nice orangish color when all was said and done ha ha

Emily: Guys I would recommend to try lemon with hydrogen peroxide, it reall works, thanks❤️

Ivy Williams: Love you ladies!!!!

Mariah Danek: Oh my gosh Country Time lemonade

Pia SAG: OMG..your hair is too beautiful.. Looking more after DIY

Carol Ciavarra: Holly I had grey starting at age 23. I would sit on grass here in Florida and let cousin pull them out. She was just a kid she now is in her 30’s and is a beautician.

Matilda Lee: It wasn't the honey, I've used honey before in a natural lightener and it didn't do anything bad.

meowsthree: You can use purple shampoo and conditioner to take the orange out.

TheMusicalangel1449: Henna hair dye would be a fun episode!

Michael Svenson: OMG country time lemonade no way. I used to love that stuff.

DNice Santi: I liked the Jess special. It gave your hair kind of a ombré look. I’ve never lightened my hair, just got highlights back in the day. Now that my hair is long enough, (I had a buzz cut for two years) I’ve been thinking about what to do with my hair. Btw today March 19, I am now 30 partying while quarantined!!! Social distance from my friends, boyfriend, and parents!!! FUN! (Said no one ever)

Mary Allison: I was born in the late sixties and in high school in the eighties. And YES we use to use lemon juice and peroxide in our hair to lighten it. On the first warmish late winter early spring Saturday morning we would mix the lemon peroxide mix and sit in the sun. And would sit out FOR HOURS. We may of needed hoodies on but we did it.

Valises & Gourmandises: I'm surprised by how many people say that hair gets brittle during pregnancy. My hair has never grown so fast and been so thick and I've lost like 2 hairs in the last 7 months I'm expecting to go downhill after the birth though...

Stone Adventures: Honey isn't bad to put in hair, but you have to be smart about it. If you put honey in your hair, definitely wash it out and definitely mix it with olive oil so that it comes out easier. For the breakage, coconut oil does wonders.

D. X. K Tew: Great fun episode again guys -- on the perils of DIY. Jessica ...My dad was a barber for over 40 years and always advocated either NOT messing with your hair (in terms of colouring) or having a professional do it. You might want to give your scalp and hair a good hot oil treatment to revive the lemon damaged hair. Thanks for the excellent content -- my Sunday ritual starts. Ladies and Lattes and Breakfast. #Thebestpartofwakingup -- is Holly & Jess's shenanigans .

Lindsey’s Lovely Life: I totally ate spoonfuls of country time

Sarah: I was scared watching this lol, but the two at the front of your hair worked a little bit. Ya made my day L&L,s, im early yay

GypSea Vibes: This only thing I got out of this video is that I need to get my ass back to my fitness & nutrition so I can be sexy & strong like Holly

Gregtech123: I think Jess is probably gonna need a haircut after this to repair the damages

Cee Beh: Omg Country Time <3

Zaais Badenhorst: Honey and chamomile need to be washed out and pat dried, i used to wash my hair with chamomile, tomato and rosemary every 2 days and my hair went from black to brown and was in really good condition

Tiffany Thompson: My sister's and I used 1 to 4 lemon juice water mix in a sprayer and sat outside as long as possible

Kenza Harris: I use the peroxide and baking soda one once in the summer. My sister caught me using lightener and was like "ehem". I used to have really light brown hair when I was a kid, but now, It's mixed in with my black hair, and in the back more than the front. So everyone just assumes my hair is black but when I open it up, then you can see the brown. But I like lightening it because I get a better response from people around me when I have lighter hair than with my dark hair.

Blessed Believer: As a teen I did peroxide with heat from the hair dryer. Major blonde and for some reason many compliments on my hair. Stayed soft.

Abbie Is Cinnamon roll: anyone used cinnamon? if so how did you apply it

AnnAlyse Chidester: How permanent is the hydrogen peroxide/lemon juice combo?

Allison Hunter: Dude I ate raw country time lemonade, cake batter, country crock from the tub, just SO MANY weird things...

aprillynn1981: Awesome video. Love Holly new hair

Gail Becker: Imitation lemon juice will damage your hair and cause it to fall out. You have to rinse it in milk and eggs then cold water to stop it. A (`SMALL') amount of natural lemon juice and honey will not do any damage, but imitation lemon juice will definitely cause your hair to fall out.

Christen: I’d suggest a wig next time to try this out ;)

ItsMeNeve: If life gives you lemons lighten your hair with them

Carol Ciavarra: My hubby’s 2 nd cousin is a beautician. Getting free hair cuts are the best. $30 colorings

Vanessa Blacksmith: this seems so much fun

Christina Vandrunen: Peroxide is what the developer is we mix with color, we just use different strengths to achieve what we want. So yes the peroxide and citric acid will lift color it is just not as strong so it usually will just go brassy. Love all your at home try videos

Hannah Hitterdal: I have naturally very light hair. I try to do a lemon mixture to lighten it up even more in the summer. None of it works for me :( I think it's all meant for darker hair sadly. #blondegirlprobs lol

Amy ann Shipyor: I have such dark hair. And I am proud of it. But if I ever tried to lighten it I would try one of these tricks.

Lexie Doggo Groomer: theres a product named "sun in" and its a spray in a yellow bottle typically found at Walmart. works wonders I just don't like the smell. 10/10 recommend.

Kristi Ferrari: I used sun-in as a teen and also baby oil when I would lay out in the sun.

Anaaa Karinaaa: I tried baking soda and peroxide and it seems to work really well

Robin Hanff: If you are a brunette it will most likely turn your hair orange so please don't try to bleach it after because your hair will likely fall out!! (retired hairdresser)

Mina: Daisy tea works but you need to do it every day for a month and be in the sun for an hour. It does definitely not damage your hair it will be smooth collect daisies from outside the yellow pedal daisies work better and no honey. Honey will moisturize your hair but it won't lighten. These people don't know. Your hair will have a beautiful tone that you cannot get with bleach or hair color. Don't ask a stylist they wanna make money.

Lucy: I love you guys and your hair is beautiful

Katie Jackson: I was assuming she was going to actually test this.. I wish she actually did for a decent time as that’s the point in these methods, wholeeee waste of time for everyone lol

Izzy Owennn: Which one worked the best? x

Helen visse: please do a testing weird products from wish ☺☻♥

Cielo Melendez: Lmao i always snuck into the kitchen and got caught sometimes

cait: i don’t want to dye my hair but may as well do it if it’ll get damaged by some of these aha
