Don'T bother me, I work frequently asked questions when it comes down to making a week. I use dome caps. This is how he comes out of the package. I bought my dome caps hotel. The average person's head size is a 22 circumference. This is the circumference that I always use most of the time. People always ask. Oh you so, on the band like this part. Yes, I do. I do go through both sides that doesn't prevent the band from scratching that doesn't prevent the wig from stretching that's, why it's important to know your measurements and to do your measurements and to know your clients head size and to know your head size. So when you put the cap on this head, this campus head, when you do it you're not going to just start making your wig like this, you always have to stretch it down completely, make sure it's kind of, even though so. At this point, your wig block should be looking like this proceed with applying your lace. You can see me through. This is a light brown lace. This lace will go with anyone, skintone tint, the lace or you want to use makeup foundation, whatever products that you use that works for you. You use that two important measurements is the circumference, so disrespectful, the two important measurements is the circumference and from the front of the head to the nape of the neck. If you are new to this, it's important to do the front of the head to the nape of the neck, because you need to know exactly where you need to put your frontal. But if you've been making wigs for a while. You already know that you should not be putting the frontal directly on the cap. You need to bring it up about half an inch anyway, because when you apply our frame so you're not putting it on your hairline, so you need to pretty get up just a little bit to where the frontal will actually lay on their head or on your Head you're gon na pin that right there and you're gon na go to the back pick at night as well. You'Re gon na pin down the sides and when you're pinning down the sides, you're just going to just come straight down straight down just a day. You'Re not gon na put it back, you got go and put it all the way up here. You'Re not gon na put leave up here, you're just gon na just later, from a toy exactly where it's laying. It goes straight down just straight down straight down now. What we're going to is outline where the lease is that, but your mind shall look straight like this, and your frontal is going to be in this area now, you're just going to start laying your tracks from side to side and the reason why your we will Fit perfectly fine, even when you're sewing on the band is because you're, not even you want to use this part anymore. This is getting cut out completely, so that's going to allow your wig to just fit exactly how it needs to fit. It'S not like you're sewing. All on this and you're keeping this inside of your wig, this is getting cut off. So once you cut this off, your wig is going to just fit, naturally how it's supposed to fit you're not going to sew a track here here here here here when you sew those tracks so close together, it's going to make your wig shrink it's going to Make your cap shrink because the setting that I sew on it's a zig-zag setting. So let's just let me put a track right here, then we put another track right on top of it. What it's going to do is grab up the weak and it's going to get smaller and smaller when you're doing a week with the sewing machine, you have to space the tracks out, not huge huge spaces, but you need to space it out because that's going to Allow your wig to have more elasticity, and just it's gon na fit perfectly exactly how it should you're just gon na keep doing this from side to side. Keep the same. Consistency, keep the same amount of spaces in between and you've gotten all of your lines like this, and you get up here to this u-shape you're, just going to go from side to side straight across. That'S it you! This is what you call a doubling your wills when you see me holding the tracks together, underneath the machine like so that's what I'm doing, I'm doubling the wefts, if you're paying attention to what I'm doing, I'm not stretching the cap. This is stretching the cap. You don't want to do that. That is going to be very critical when it comes down to making your wig. You want your wig to just be flat. All I'm doing is just smoothing out the surface and allowing the sewing machine to stitch the hair into the cap. I'M not worried about this. I'M not worried about. What'S back here, I'm just worried about my focus point, which is this area at this moment. You just want to smooth it out, lay the trap. Your stitch using the sewing machine is like driving a car. You have to turn the cap. You have to let the wefts know where you want them too late. Once again, I'm not stretching the cap. All I'm doing is moving this flat out the way and lay my tracks down. You can cut the wolf before or after I just like to do it before cuz. It'S a little bit easier, you're going to back stitch two times and we exteriors these spaces. Allow the wig to still stretch I flip the wig inside out on the canvas head just so you can see the details in the stitching's of this wig that I made. This is what practice and hard work will give you bomb results, not on this frontal and if you major wig properly, this will be perfection at this point, I did not go above this line, at least the frontal right in front of the tracks right in front And from this point, you're just going to so your frontal down needle and thread it just basic needle and thread that you do your regular so ends with this is the same pattern that I showed you guys on my detail. Frontal install I'll attach that link below just in case you didn't see it or just in case you need a reminder of how to do it and from this point, you're going to move on to the styling process. That'Ll be my next video see you on that. One bye, bye,

Style Lives Within Me: Sooo clearly I messed up my frontal for my braided wig lol but it’s my first one so I learned from my mistake. Now I know don’t pull it back but it felt long af. Do you ever experience that with frontals? Thanks for all the info you’re giving us girl ❤️ it’s much appreciated !! I subscribed to your channel

The LovelyCherryRose: I’m so upset I spent 250 on beauty supply hair and had it installed for 280 .... I JUST seen ur website and I could of bought a whole wig from u ... smh that’s why u gotta do ur research ❗️ glad I ran into ur channel ✨

Patricia BLU: Hi! You are such a blessing. I couldn't afford the classes. I just have questions...1)what settings is your sewing machine? the tension, width and length?..when your sewing the hair on the cap and when you double stitching the wefts? 2) Are you sewing directly on weft or just under? (I hope that's not dumb question...)

Nicki: Thank you for saving me alot of money on classes. I'm going to practice until it's perfect

Marketta Goodson: You really are the best you explained it better then the person I paid for a class with ‍♀️ Free Game thank you ❤️

itz Sheena: Thank you so much for this. I have a big ass head (24 inches circumference) and I want to learn to make my own wigs. Was just afraid that it would end up being too tight. I've never sewn one before but I have a sewing machine and I'm gonna try this method with a closure.

Betty Xavier: I just stumbled on your channel and I am so in love with your work. I have a question regarding the dome cap please.  Does the regular dome cap work for every head size including people with larger heads? I've had clients that I make wigs for but the regular dome cap doesn't fit so I end up using the jumbo size, sometimes it fits and sometimes its too big. What would you recommend I do please? is the cap size the problem or my wig making block? I would really love to hear back from you. Thank you!

Don: Also, you dont have to space the tracks out if you pull the cap kind of taught when you are sewing, you only lose cap when you allow the cap to go into the machine without being pulled taught, i havent had any sizing issues with doing it just as long as you arent pulling it super tightly

Ciniyah Miller: I keep getting my cap stuck in the machine but I’m not going give up !!

Renee: Thank you soo much! This video was really helpful! Love your work!

Jessica Andrew: Thank you so much for sharing this amazing tips

Christian K: You’re a natural born teacher! ‍ This was so interesting to watch!

BlackBrunnette: New sub here. Great vid, thanks for sharing. I've never made a sewing wig before only quick weave wigs and crochet wigs. I do however sew so I'm here for it and I will try very soon.

Zoeyw1: I love the white pen idea. I will be trying that. Hopefully I can make a wig that will fit my 23.5 inch head. You use about 2 inch spacing between each row

Diamond Wilkins: Your videos are so helpful.. I learned so much from you by just watching. Thanks!!

YaYas HairAffair: When sewing together a unit do you recommend using a zigzag stitching pattern? Or could I use a traditional stitch? I prefer my stitching links to be pretty close when sewing can I do the same when making a unit?

Macntash: Thank you for being so informative. What type of needle are you using? the wefts kept breaking my needles then completely threw off my sew time. Also do you use regular thread?

Princess Naomi: When doubling the weft ,do you double each bundle like how you would when you make a wig by hand ? I hope you get what I’m trying to say

UnCommon Scentz: PS even though I don't wear wigs, I'm here for this instructional vid, the music, the fact that harbor gummi bears are your creative fuel (Mine too) and this shirt.

Bree Gorgeous: I just bought my machine a few mins ago I can’t wait to make a unit

Tassie Gordon: Great video! This tutorial is very helpful!

Kevin Johnson: You really are the new G.O.A.T. I love this channel

Noir Angel: Thank you so much for this informative video. I can't tell you how much I appreciate all of your vids.

Jaz Burke: Love this vid ❤️ im learning to make wigs with my sewing machine now, i almost got it perfected. But sometimes when i get to the top of the cap once i take the cap from under the sewing machine the wefts ripple and dont lay flat....is this because i may be stretching the cap while sewing? Or maybe because i single my tracks at the top? ....Can anyone give me advice? & of course ericka i would love your input

Baby purple: I like how you sewed your frontal last. I had someone sew it first and the last track laid is showing. That's why i'll be doing my own from now on.

Stella Metcalf: The sound of your jewelry jingling while you were sewing was so satisfying

Adrienne Kirkland: ErickaJ, I still get confused on actually how far to bring the frontal forward. You make it all see easy.

Vivi White: Do you keep doubling your tracks all the way to the top or do you start to single weft? Did you use all three bundles?

Erin Ak: What sewing machine do you use? Also thanks for the detailed explanation it helped a lot!

ettrina miller: Very informative video? What stitch do you use to double the wefts? And what size cap do you use? Ive seen large ang x-large. TIA

Lexx J: Definitely helpful. I am looking forward to making my unit

IAMSALEM: The wig is constructed so well. Once you got to the top of the wig (for the part that goes straight across), did you use double weft or single weft tracks?

LIFT: Awesome! When you do the double sew at the end of the track and cut the thread is there any need to tie/knot the thread or does the machine do that?

Karen W: I love the way you explain how to make a wig by sewing machine. I need to know how do the wig not slip back when there's no combs in the middle or side to hold in place, did you sew to tracks together? Thxs for taking your time in answering this question !

Ashionti Williams: When your wig stand gets stolen, go to Ericka J. When your mannequin head is broken because of moving reasons, go to Ericka J. Your knowledge and channel made all my hair issues so small and fixable.

Kimble: Hi great video, what size needle, did you change the presser foot, if so which one did you use, do you have to double the hair. I’m in the process of making a wig with a sewing machine. I broke about 5 needles (size 12‍♀️) I didn’t double the hair . I’m having all kinds of issues.

Latonia Steger: Girllll... I’ve made three wigs.. THREE wigs and they came out too small to even fit my 9 year old’s head lol so u mean to tell me that I’ve been placing my tracks too close?! U r the GOAT! thanks for sharing and caring! I’m rocking with u until I get this right! ❤️

Desssy Bee: Can you pin the tracks to the cap with ball pins before we start sewing , like you can with clothes ? Or do we have to just lay them down as we go ? Im just wondering if that would make it easier as I’m just starting out with the machine

Queen: Girl you game for FREE. People charge for this information. Thank you.

It's Me Tracy Lee: Are you still exclusively using dome caps? Are you opposed to mesh? Also, In my first attempt at wig makings the cap fit perfectly on my head but once I sewed the hair on it, I noticed it stretched a bit so now its too big. I can't figure out what I did wrong.

Mz. Kelly: So detailed, loved it! I took a sewing class with The Hair Diagram -

ep: Omg thank u soo much for this tutorial. It was soo helpful. may the Lord keep blessing you!!!

ProperlyPainted: You are truly becoming the goat of Yt highly appreciate your knowledge and skills

LaTisa Bright: late but excellent detail and instruction. Thank you. Can I use this method for a wig with bonding glue or hot glue gun?

terecita curtis: Thank u so much for being so detailed. But can u please tell me the type of needle u use in the sewing machine? Is it the needles that come with it or is it a thicker needle? Thank u so much! U are doing an awesome job

Safoyaahh: Hi hope you’re well! Quick question... is it necessary to have different different canvas head ranging in sizes 21 -24

Being JahDore: Are you double wefting till you reach by the frontal??? How many bundles did you end up using?? Do you have a link to the sewing machine you used

Todahneisha: Thank you for this very informative tutorial What setting is your machine on specially the length between stitches

Valentina Airueghian: Best informative video ever. Thanks for sharing your knowledge

Mataya H.: Omg thank you so much! This makes perfect sense.

Mrs. Hudson: What type of needle and thread Are you using for the sewing machine ???

Chef Chrissy & Kids: I love you videos I wanted to know what needle you use to avoid all the threads being in the inside of the cap I have real problem with that when I make my wigs on the sewing machine
