Learn how to create your very own box braid crochet wig that can be wore in a high bun OR ponytail! I saw this style floating around on my IG and I just had to try it on. Since I cut all of my hair off, I really miss being able to wear box braids. NOW, I finally have a way to wear them and it only took 30 MINUTES to make!

It'S been a minute: hey pop on yeah, welcome back to the pappases youtube channel. It has been a hot minute since I had sat in front of this camera to come and talk to you. I missed you guys, I'm trying to stay positive. Keep myself positive, keep myself upbeat as well as keeping you guys upbeat. Have you guys having something else to listen to other than what's on the news and on Facebook and Instagram and everywhere else that you look so if you are here on our channel, we ain't gon na, be talking about that. Just go ahead and just yeah. But what we are gon na be talking about. Is this a crochet wig, yes, honey. I said a crochet week that I just created in the last 30 minutes and if you are new to our Channel hello, welcome how you doing. I hope you are being safe. I have to give you all the deets on this because beauty, salons and hair salons being closed. A lot of us are kind of roughing it out here. I will say that I was one of them with you know everything being closed to kind of shut down. I just kind of just gave up on trying to look decent, I'm not even gon na lie. I just like in the past week or two decided to get my life together, I decided to bring you guys a quick crochet. Look that I created using some box. Braids, you can use senegalese twists any kind of bridge. You could probably even use curls if you want to do an updo for curls, but this updo. Of course you can wear in a bun or a ponytail. I decided to do mine as a bun. Hair is really really long. I just want to show you all that here real quick, so I bought the 30 inch. This is 30 inches long and it's the two times open box braids and I don't even recognize this brand is my natural, but I love them. They they're very like good quality braids like a lot of crochet braids. They just be looking kind of skimpy. They have a lot of flyaways. Sometimes they don't close the inch right now these are open-ended. So that means that kind of feather. That'S the end matter of fact: here we go I'll, show you so you have this nice equality, braid, 30 inches long and then at the end it's supposed to be open-ended, meaning it has that nice feathered, look and they tight hand tight it off right there. So it will not come undone and I'm gon na say that I love it. Just cost me $ 10, so it was like $ 9.99. We just don't go ahead and say $ 10, so it was $ 10 per pack. I ended up purchasing up five packs and I only used like four and a half and that all depends on how dense and you know how full you want your crochet week to look. I'M pretty sure I probably could have gotten away with four, but I decided to buy five and I used a four and a half, and this is like overall, like this looks like some legit, I got my hair braided like I just got me some box braids. I have been a big fan of crochet wigs lately. They are so simple, they're so easy to make, and I don't have to worry about sew ins and needles and gluing, and none of that I just throw that sucker one and keep it moving. It'S exactly what I wanted for this week when I went to go make when I went to go purchase my hair and my materials that I needed. So, of course you need your crochet needle and all that good stuff, but thirty minutes to meet heart. It took me thirty minutes to put this wig together and maybe ten minutes just to put it on my head and that's just the situated, so I am wearing a scarf around it because of course you would see the band if you would not. So I did decide to accessorize it wearing a scarf and jung-ho. I love me some head wraps and I love wearing my hair as door the summertime. So I have no problems with now. Of course, my hair wraps are legit long. This may be a little too long and it may be too thick for you don't want. If you want to wear this during the summertime, you can always opt out to buying one of those. You know nice, sheer headbands that you can purchase from Target or Walmart honey. Go for it be creative, add some studs add some flowers have fun with it, and we're gon na go ahead, wrap this all up and get started with this tutorial. I struggle with braided wigs using this type of cap because the weight of the braids often stretch the cap so it never fits my head. Would you recommend using a stretch dome cap instead? My circumference is 21 or for a little extra wiggle room, 21.5
mslataprada1: Great job!!! I tried to make this but the placement of the braids were not right and it was too bulky for me to handle all those braids.I wound up picking all those braids out. I just made a braided wig by crocheting the braids one time all around the perimeter and throwing a hat over it to wear when it gets colder outside to run to the store or doctor's appointments lol---Ain't wasting my money. I put it to use somehow. Only spent $20 though. Would've been less but the lady in the store sold me the wrong cap. She talked me into buying a cap that you would have to use to glue on tracks not a crochet cap. I looked at it when she pulled it out the pack and she told me I could crochet with it but it didn't dawn on me that the holes were micro tiny for the hair to go through. LOL Lucky I had extra caps in the house when I went to looking. I'm just not good in making this kind of headband wig. Maybe one day.
