Well, hello, hello: welcome back to taz's wig closet at wig studio one. Today. I have a lot to cover. Please don't miss a minute of this. If you have any interest at all in the jon renau's julianne light we're going to take an in-depth look at the new light collection by jon renau, as it appears here on the julienne light we're going to compare this to the original julienne. So we know exactly what's different and we have two very similar colors to compare as well coming up, so the new collection being launched by jon renau in june 2021 is their light collection l-i-t-e. That collection consists of five styles, two human hair and three synthetic. The human hair designs are the uh, the blake and the kerry, and then on the synthetic side we have the julianne, the cameron and the zera which all are hand-tied designs. So this is super neat because they're gon na just kick it up a notch for us and give us what we have been asking for for many years, and that is a lighter density style with some amazing cap features. I can't wait to get into that with you, so what i'm wearing here is the julienne light in the color 12 fs12, which is malibu blonde malibu blonde is one of four blondes that were released in their california bloods collection several years ago, and this is also Very similar, i think, especially if you're just comparing swatches to the venice blonde, we're going to take a look at those differences today, because i actually have a regular julianne in that venice blonde to show you jon renau's, 12 fs12 malibu blonde. Let'S get up close! So basically it is a light golden brown and then within that you're going to see a light and then a pale gold blonde. All of that and a light brown root. So this rooting is going to be lighter than the 22f16s8 that i'm going to show you next uh. This color is also warmer than that 22f16s8 venice blonde um. I personally think that this is also a little warmer of a blend than the 12 fs8 by jon. Renau, so the light collection is lighter in density and lighter in weight and has some amazing cap features this julienne light. I think the fiber on this one is a little finer than any of the other juliennes that i have experienced. So that means that each of the fibers are are just a little bit uh thinner in diameter, which creates a nice light, fine texture to the fiber. I also think that the density is a little less than the other juliennes that i've experienced, giving it about a half of an ounce less in weight. So the julienne weighs about three and a half ounces and the julienne light about three three point, one. So we're talking about a half an ounce and when we're in with an overall three ounce weight, that's quite a percentage difference and i can definitely tell the difference. So each one of the fibers is super baby. Fine. So julian is a completely hand tight cap. What you're going to see is an ear to ear lace front. I know that makes you smile. In fact, i think that's their slogan, ear to ear smiles, and that's because you're going to have so many options for styling. I'M going to show that to you right away, because that is a huge upgrade from the um from the regular julianne, so you're going to see that that lace wraps around the ear all the way from ear to ear. Now, there's a polyurethane ear tab, i'm going to show you in just a moment that lace wraps around that polyurethane, so you can actually pull it up and away all the way down through the ear tab, and you can still attach your um if you want to Do some adhesives or something on that polyurethane to keep the ear tabs in position? You can certainly do that, but isn't that a beautiful look from the front, so i would actually have just to keep a couple pieces down there, but from about here all the way up, i can pull it away for an amazing natural look and because of the Fine fibers that they're using on this collection they carry that all the way through to the lace front. So i feel like that, really softens the lace front quite a bit. Each knot is a little bit finer and lighter in texture, so that is going to reduce some of the naughty look that you can get, especially with the darker colors and darker roots. So just leveling up on the realism of the cap, i mean i thought. Julianne looked pretty real, you know even the original one, just because it's hand tied and it has all the monofilament so julianne, just to run down the specs really quickly about 10 10 and a half inches. When i show you the original julienne, the curl pattern is a little tighter, and so it looks a little shorter. It almost appears that there's a slight graduation on it, because, overall, i feel it's between 12 and 13 inches you'll, see where it just the profile of it is a little bit slimmer because of the lightness of the fibers. Looking at that monofilament top, you can definitely see through to scalp from all angles from the top, so you can part it wherever you like, and i love that, especially for julianne, because julianne is very ornery kind of chaotic and unpredictable in its curl pattern. I have never seen two juliennes alike and sometimes i have to part them a little bit differently to get the most flattering look around the face and that monofilament and lace give me the ability to customize this style to my taste and liking. Julianne has always been just a deconstructed spiral curl, and i have seen variability on this curl pattern quite a bit now. This is not a petite size. This is a regular sized cap, but only in the light version um. So i did have to cinch in the adjusters as far as they could go to accommodate a petite average circumference. I also get just a slight amount of bagginess at the top, so we talked about everything with julienne light: let's go ahead and change into the regular julienne. I have it in venice blonde, so i'm back wearing julianne the regular julienne and 22f16s, which is venice blonde. I actually purchased this from a beloved wig sister of mine, recently hi betsy, and thank you so much. I don't want to embarrass betsy, but i just think so highly of her and i just want to give her a shout out. Um. She and i have been friends for a long time. She actually has an etsy shop and sent me a little something from that etsy shop, along with when she packaged and sent this wig. So she does a little bit of jewelry. She has a lot of different things in her etsy store i'll place, the link below just in case you want to visit betsy and she really specializes in handmade cards. So i get this beautiful card along with the wig again, i don't want to embarrass betsy. Thank you so much betsy and from the bottom of my heart. So i think you can already spot some of the differences in this julienne right. It'S a little fuller. It has a little more body, which means the curls can hold a little more of its their uh buoyancy there, okay and again highly variable curl pattern. This one happens to be really really pretty now. This julianne regular just has the lace front that does extend and run temple to temple single monofilament top hand tied base, and all of that this is the regular size. I had to cinch this way in to accommodate a petite average circumference, but i just want to remark on the things that i feel are a little bit uh different than the light version. So again, the amount of hair there's definitely more hair on this regular julienne than there is on the julienne light. Okay, the lace front: let's take a look at the lace front, so it runs from temple to temple instead of ear to ear, okay, same coverage, as you can see it's gorgeous, and i don't want to make it sound like it's inferior at all, because this is Just an amazing wig style - and i i love my juliennes among my favorites um and then the cap, so you've just got the regular uh cloth covered, ear tabs here closed ear, tabs and in the back you have an extended nape. Now, on the light version, you've got the polyurethane ear tab with the ear to ear lace, wrapped all the way around, and then you have a little bit of silicone at the nape on the light version uh that silicone is going to kind of adhere or to The skin a little bit and keep it from moving around so that you can pull the hair off of the neck and have a variety of i don't know more more variety in your styling, so both of them are super realistic. The dimensions are the same. 10. 10 and a half now i think that she might have cut just a little bit of a bang into this one, because that piece there is only about five inches on that side. Um - and i actually may go in - and just do a little bit of a shorter fringe bang anyway. I think that would be gorgeous on julianne, but the curl pattern is a little bouncier, a little more buoyant, rather than taken down on the ends, like the other one that might give it the illusion that it's a little shorter, although the dimensions are exactly the same. Okay, so let's talk about the venice blonde, because we're going to compare that in my side-by-sides to the malibu, the venice blonde is, has a much ashier tone to it than the malibu blonde does. So what you're going to see is some ash blondes, a darker ash blonde, almost resembling a honey, and then it has some pale ash blonde, highlighting and all of that on a medium brown root. Okay, so those highlights are ash and tone. So it is a cooler based tone than that malibu. So the last difference i want to discuss with you is the pricing on these. So i'm not going to list the prices. You can see the links below because prices can change over time, but the light version of julianne is approximately forty dollars more than the regular version to me. That'S just a negligible amount and does justify some of those really nice features on the light version. Okay, so we're going to do our side by side comparisons of these two. I really want you to pay attention to the the density how the curls lay um. I also want you to look at the differences in the color, because i get questions all the time. What'S the difference between the 12 fs12 and the 22f16, because they look so much alike in the color swatches inside, look at the cap for julie and light, so the first thing you're going to see is that lace front? It'S beautiful! It'S really deep and it does wrap around each ear tub. So it's ear to ear it wraps around this polyurethane ear tab here. What you're seeing is this a stay? A metal stay inside of that polyurethane wraps around is beautifully contoured and then one of my favorite parts is this knotting look how fine those knots are that carries all the way back through to the single monofilament all hand, tied just doesn't get much better than that. Does it just gorgeous, and then you have your stretch panels here, that are all hand tied with the cluster knots and look how fine those cluster knots are. So if you've seen the regular version, you can tell that those cluster knots are just the knotting itself is very fine they're using a little less fiber and each one of the fibers is a little finer than the regular okay and then in the back. You will see an extended nape that is covered with silicone and that silicone does a good job of kind of adhering kind of grabs onto the skin and prevents shifting around for some amazing styling velcro style adjusters. Now you can see i cinched those in as far as they could go to accommodate a petite average circumference. You

jayandess: I can see young women with hairloss really going for these pieces if they have a healthy bank balance. Most older women like myself have probably had their fill of battling flat hair and are delighted to sport a wig with a reasonable amount of permatease! You look good in both by the way Taz.

allison botts: Love, love, love! Julianne light is my next purchase. Thanks for the informative review!

TIme Enough: Hi Taz! Thanks for the mention! You didn't embarrass me. ;-) Love you in both wigs gf! A great comparison of the Juliannes! Wish I liked them on me, but they sure work well for most! So happy to be your friend! xoxo P.S. You know I may have trimmed a little bang?! I didn't remember that...had it sitting in my closet for a while. LOL Still looks fab on you!!! Love the color on you too!!

Front Porch Wig Chat: I just love Julianne, period! I've owned three of them and am now searching for one in Martini. I'm not sure I would spend the extra for the Lite version unless I found a great deal in the right color, necessarily. I sort of prefer the regular one's curl pattern you showed for myself. Julianne and January are my very favorite Jon Renau styles, though Kendall is a close third now that I have one.

Charlene Stoudt: I LOVE your honest reviews! The description of the original Julianne being "ornery" is perfect. I love her and think I would have gone for the lite version If there had been one then, lol. The thought of the lower density alone! The OG does indeed have A LOT of hair. When my girl finally runs her life out, this will definately be one I'll revisit. Thank you again for the great review ❤

Jackie Marsh: Wow!! I'm Loving This New Information on This One!! That Lace Front is Unbelievable!! Love This Opinion for Sure!! You Look Stunning in Both of Them!! Thank You Sooo Much for a Perfect Review and Comparison!! Love and Hugs Sweet Friend!! XOXOXO

Coast Daze: I LOVE the no permatease look! This is totally beautiful on you with your small face. And it would be pretty on a fuller face, too. The original Julianne is pretty too, not as casual or realistic, imo. I just bought JR Clair, but I do believe Julianne Lite is next!

Lexicron: Excellent, comprehensive review, at usual! One question abt lite though. Some reviewers (Eileen?) mentioned that JR lightened up the rooting--mixed it with more blond--in Julianne lite, specifically 12 fs8. Your take on this? It would be a GREAT feature, even for the brunette shades like Almondine and Eclair. Also, a request: I'd love to see your review on Julianne's grays and white! Thanks!

D W: Exactly what I want light density❣ It looks so natural on you Taz I think the younger girls will prefer it too, they like the flatter hair. The comparison was great... I just watched Michelle's video, she said it's 100% density

Angelsangst: The new cap looks great, but the old one has better hair IMO. I was wearing full lace and glue for about a year and had an outbreak of cystic acne under the glue in the hot weather, so I would be extremely careful if you have sensitive skin. But, that new cap is the bees knees.

Suzanne Young: I agree that the regular Julianne is more “you”. It really is stunning on you, Taz.

Monika's Beauty & Lifestyle: That looks great on you and a wonderful comparison. I love the new caps!!!

MichelePearl: This was such a great review. So much variability as you stated. Really highlighted the cap so one can see what they did.

London Jean Semberg: I have to say, I really prefer the original Julianne on you, as I suspect I would do on me as well. I like lift and volume on top and especially a lifted, more contoured front. The Lite one looks very flat , like one got caught in the pouring rain… I get the special cap features on the new Lite collection, but as for looks only, I’m a much bigger fan of more voluminous styles. Great comparison and highlighting of the differences! ❤️

Peggy Johnson: Hi Taz, love this review. I’m waiting for Julianne Lite. Pretty excited. Could you tell me what wig is on F?

Marion Gilligan: Thanks for the fab review. Encouraged me to buy this as my first wig. I’ve looked at a lot of videos and have to say your productions are the best and most informative. Well done from Scotland Maz x

Margaret Tassey: Thanks for the very informative review. The curl pattern is so different, it is hard to focus on the density. I do better with less density. I think the ear to ear lace gives you more styling options but I can see you would have to glue it down. So it might be worth it for a piece you were going to fiddle with for an updo or wedding hair, but not so much if you want a quick shake and go. I would love to see how it works on someone with no hair. Another great option. Love how the manufacturers are stepping up their game.

Sharon Steele: While the new Lite features are awesome I prefer the overall look of the originals. I love volume! Have a nice weekend

Mint: Hi Taz, these are both pretty. Sort of modern romantic styles! I think the light version looks so natural. Maybe Jon Renau will make a large sized version. Beautiful necklace from Betzie! Hugs, Sharon

Lynda Ryan: I really like both look fantastic on you! But I really like the original one the best! Thank you for doing the comparison on them! You are such an amazing lady! God bless you and have a wonderful weekend!

Pamela: Hi Taz, this was a great comparison. I just received the Lite version and it is huge for my petite/average head and I really won’t get the benefits of the cap features. I think I need the Julianne Petite. Are there differences in volume between the Julianne regular and the petite? I really like the volume in the regular. Thanks so much!

Miss Pethamhouse: Thanks Taz! Question for you: some women are saying that the lace front is wider and perhaps a tad too much along the forehead. It’s definitely wider than the non-lite version, and some are suggesting trimming it along the hairline. What’s your perspective? Does the wider lace look as natural?? Also, I always pull out my bio hair around the side of the cap above the ears. I probably wouldn’t be able to do that with the lace going to the ear tabs , right? Thanks for all you do!!

Jacqueline Hubbard: I have the original juliane and it’s my favorite hair piece to wear (I don’t like saying wig) lol but I think I want to try the light! I might need a side job to pay for these it’s addicting!

Michelle Diekman: I Love where you Compare and talk about Colors, You Look Beautiful in Both! Enjoy your Weekend Hugs by the Bushel , God Bless

S F L: Thank you for the reviews, they both look very cute on you! Do you think glasses wearers could wear glasses comfortably over the ear tabs on the Julianne Lite? Thank you

Nathalie Bleau: I tried the Carrie Lite and the cap was too big on my petite head, where the ear tabs were digging in my ears, kinda painful and the ear tabs kept lifting up. I hope they come up with a smaller cap... maybe I'll give it another go when they do.

CarolK: Hi Taz. I have to say I really prefer the original Julianne! I think its the body in the original that I like so much. By the way, can you tell me the style and color of wig P and D too? Thanks so much and thank you for always doing a wonderful job sharing.

Angie: Do you wear/review Remy HH pieces?id LOVE to see you review some! I have every one of the California Blondes. Be aware the S8 is kind of dark. But it is lighter in synthetic than Remy HH, when comparing all of my pieces.I use “IT STAYS” & love it.

Martha Gutierrez: Great review again and you look beautiful in both. Always looking forward to your reviews. Could you tell me what wig is on C?

MoonDancersBoutique1: Thank you... I enjoy getting a preview before I purchase...

J F: Do you feel this fits the same or more snug than the original? I apologize if this was addressed and I missed it

geanne payne: Very Cute!

Ziggy3339: Watching both the Juilliane Lite & another wavy lite one (I forget the name at the moment) by Jon Reneau. Why? I live in SW Florida…and it’s hot , I swim , and have a larger head. This seems more versatile to fit my head. Also, I have longer bio hair now that I’ve not been to a hairdresser in a couple of years (Covid advise from doctors). These are 1. Lighter weight for less of a hot wool hat feel 2. Father reaching more believable extended lace front. Am working on best glues…going for a stronger one called Got To Be Glued to stick better (they slide off after a few hours). 3. The Venice blonde looks rooted. I’m great, but think this might work with that as it’s pretty light. I normally go with a beige blonde ‍♀️ but without hair coloring it’s grey now at the temples. May just cut the bulk out like you do, it looks so carefree ! Admire all the work you obviously put into these videos. Thanks from the bottom of my heart ❤️

Denise T: Thank-you I prefer this now it will be great for warm weather coming in.

Matt & Sandra Carless: Do I need to tighten her if the lace is in the right spot on my hairline but lifted/gapped from my scalp or do I need to use the glue? I'm scared it will slowly slide backwards if I set it higher.

Sarah England: Hi Taz Love this style on you. I hope Jon Renau do the 30% discount again soon so that I can treat myself. Please cam you confirm what P is on t mannequins head?

swineinny1: Not sure why, but this one looks wiggy to me. Maybe it’s the flat root? Just saying, if I saw this out in public, I’d spot it as a wig immediately. Color & rooting is nice, but it is def wiggy-looking.

April and Bella: Taz may I just say you are beautiful no matter what you wear, however i get so excited each change like lol I need em all. now just to get comfortable with it. I heard you say in a previous video that you have a quiet stressful job but i missed what you wear for the job? I went to a wig store locally and they were nice but had no idea what to ask, what to get so I straight

Kim Kordov: Taz… do I cut the lace on this wig when I first get it?

Vicki Cobb: I am so very disappointed in my Julianne lite. The lace looks ridiculous and above my ears will not stay down as I am bald. Big disappointment……

Maggi McClure: Raz, how do like the shine on this wig? I got it once and was so shiny it looked fake.

mimijoy100: Beautiful! And your Top is so pretty! Can you you share what top you're wearing? Thanks!

Angelina Nejmeh: Hi.The Julianne is lovely. Please can you tell me how to order it online and how much does it cost.Thks

Lore dana: For me the hairline is to balky to look natural...is there the possibility to pluck the hairline for a more natural look?...i like the color very much on you and even the beachy waves....

Tracy North: Thank you Taz. What is the H and F wigs on your shelf please?

Marci Lambert: Hello, could you show the sides and back for a little longer please?♥️

Nancy Manly: Can you please tell me what the p wig is and her color? Thanks

Catherine Walpole: Taz, can you please tell me what wig is on head E?

blythe houghton: Hi Taz, What is wig H behind you? Thx.

kimmymz: Are both of these all synthetic?

gypsearose 8: Could cut a few small bangs in this wig? TY

Willow Green: Can you cut these wigs, make bangs?

Lisa Vento: the links take it to NON ROOTED wig?

Estella Molina: Hi please give me the prices I like this model

Amy Rutherford-Close:

Debbie Bamforth: what is on mannequin J?

Kate Hanley: Nope
