Hey you guys welcome to another Star Wars, hair tutorial in this video, I'm going to teach you how to do the crown braid Leia wore on Hoth and the Empire Strikes Back for this style. You'Ll need a handful of bobby pins and one small elastic. I also recommend doing this braids with damp hair, especially if you have frizzy or wavy locks, because this will take much of the flyaways. We get one braiding tightly begin by separating a section of hair between your ears and back almost to the top of your head. Clip or tie out of the way for now next detangle, the rest of your hair grab a section of hair from behind your left ear and split it into three parts. You begin Dutch lace braiding with this hair. This entails leaving each outer part of hair underneath the middle one add some free hanging hair to the outside section that is closest to the top of your head each time, you're about to braid that section underneath the middle strand braid this way, all along your back, Hairline braids up the other side of your head once you reach it, it's okay! If you run out of free hanging hair ever just braids, a normal Dutch braid, if this happens continue until you reach the right edge of the hair, you have clipped out of the way at this point, release that hair and incorporate it into your braid. Again. Add in hair only to the side of the braid that is closest to the top of your head, or that is on the inside of the circle. You'Re forming add in vertical columns of hair from the top of your head to your front hairline, and when you pull the braid tight, make sure it is sitting over the roots, the outer hair. That is farthest away from your forehead. Otherwise, you'll get a weird horizontal part at the back of your head, and the braid will be too close to your forehead when you've added in all this hair, you should be close to where you started the braid at the beginning, finish off the braid normally and Secure with your small elastic at the very ends now take the hanging braid and lay it along the braid at the back of your head on the inside of the circle pin with bobby pins so that the pins are hidden, it is easier to hide them. If you direct them parallel to the braids and push them underneath tuck the end of the braid, underneath the other braid and pin feel around the braid for any loose ends, sticking out and pin them in place and congrats you're done. This may take some practice to make it look polished, but I'm sure you'd get there. Thanks for watching you

Julia Rottluff: My father to my mother about me trying to do this after 30 min: She is still braiding because the empire keeps striking back ;) But finally I got it. Now, after I did it the third time, it looks amazing and took me about twenty minutes. I love this :)

Adrian C: Why did I cut my hair RIGHT BEFORE seeing Star Wars and falling in love with Leia and her LONG hair and hairstyles...

emcewan12: Hey I just wanted to say thank-you for making these awesome tutorials! I was never a "girly-girl" and so I skipped the whole "hair ability" phase--thanks for teaching me such great, nerdy styles!! I always recommend you to people who ask me how I started styling it. Keep up the great work!!

Aly Sarraga: I absolutely suck at doing braids when I have to add more hair as I go :/ but I will keep practicing because I really love this hairstyle!

Emma: This definitely took 6 tries to get it looking presentable, haha. My biggest problem was keeping the part in the back close to the nape of my neck, surprisingly. The first 5 times I did it by starting it by my left ear, but then I switched to starting on my right ear on the 6th time and it made a world of difference. Perhaps because I'm right-handed? Who knows. But thank you for this tutorial! You're my favorite hairstyling channel. Clear instruction, easy to follow, and to-the-point (no rambling or extra talk). :))

Marian Morton: This is absolutely adorable!! Thanks for solving my wig-or-no-wig-at-comic-con dilemma!

Miss Rayman: Thank you, it was so much fun, I managed to do it for the second try, I'll shine this braid at tomorrow's premiere ^

Arina Safina: Oh my god, I did it!! From the first try! Thank you so much, I can't believe it worked so well

Hiperglucemica: OH-MY-GOD! I've been looking for this tutorial for years! I really really love you now ♥ I'm subscribing right now!

Megan Wimp: I managed to be able to do it with my hair--and it's not yet shoulder-length! This made me so happy!

Miss Agent E: +Silvousplaits You are amazing. You make this look so easy. I have such a hard time Dutch lace braiding, even though I watched your tutorials numerous times and practiced and practiced. This simply means you've got talent!

Hunting For Healthy: Best and easiest crown braid tutorial ever! It actually worked when I did it... although wet hair doesn’t work for me

Hannah Louise: You make the Dutch braid look so easy!! I always struggle and it always ends up looking like a hot mess XD but In the film Carrie just had two long braids wrapped around her head :) x

MJ Barata: Amazing tutorial! I've been wanting to make this hairstyle for a long time, and this one is simple enough for even a rookie like me to understand and attempt :-) I don't know how to make dutch braid yet, but in my first attempt I cheated with a kind of french braid to check if I could follow through, and I can, so now only thing I need is to learn dutch braid :-D luckily I'm a speed learner :-P

Jessie McCormick: You are just loving the Leia styles right now, aren't you? :P Beautiful as always!!

Larissa: I like this. I got my hair cut and have been trying for months to grow it out so that I could try to do leia's hair styles. This could really help me do it sooner.

zoey neal: Leia’s empire strikes back hairstyle will always be my favorite

Briana Johnson: You look just like Sophie Turner who plays Sansa Stark in Game Of Thrones. Honestly the resemblance is stunning.

Emily E: Still practicing this one....still have a hard time getting the braid on the side of the head to get on straight.  Much easier to start at the top of the head, but looks much better the way you do it (b/c you get that nice fat braid on the top of the head instead of the skinny starter one).  I will get there someday!

Gemma Parton: I have been wondering how to get this look did a while so excited to give it a go x

Jovana Bibić: This is an interesting tehnique, I'll deffinitely try it out!

krustomer: I wear this all the time now! Thanks.

Yvainnie: Another great one. I just love your tutorials. May be try one of Padme's hair from Attack of the Clones or The Revange of Sith.

Frederike Fischer: Your braid looks amazing! But honestly, it's too complicated for a "beginner". I did an easier way to do the Hoth Leia hairstyle. I just braided two normal plaits near to my neck and then put them over my head, they crossed about on top of it. I used bobby pins to hide the end of the braids underneath. Your hairstyle looks more like the original Leia hair, but I just can't do that complicated french plait behind my head XD.

Drakendottir: OMG I can't believe I just did this. It took me a bazillion times stretched out over months. I'm usually really good at braiding but braiding upwards for some reason never really worked. But right now, for the first time, I have a (somewhat sticky-looking, imperfect, but working) crown braid. And I did it with electrical first-day-hair too. Thanks so much for your tutorials, you are a huge inspiration for my hairstyling! I did one of the cersei styles you taught me for my best friend's wedding and I will be wearing either this crown braid or the Cloud City-Leia-Hairstyle when I get to watch the new Star Wars movie in two weeks. Lots of time to perfect either one now that I finally got the hang of it :)

Katie Kunz: I love your hairstyles!

Grace Thompson: This is so good!

Kat: I always have trouble going back up the other side- I usually still have a lot of hair left, and it’s hard to add hair while it hangs over the braid.

Imke: Could you show how to create the style of Amanda Seyfried in 'Les Misérable' when she wore a side braid with a little laice in it? :) It looked so beautiful !

Cesar Perez, Jr.: I had that hairstyle for my Grade 6 graduation but alas it’s only one braid!!!! I had middle hair that time and I saw from the film she (Princess Leia) has two!

Taylor Ward: I wish I was as good at braiding as you!

meredith webster: life makes sense now... thank you Friend!! also I vote we figure out costumes for next year

QueenAliceOfAwesome: Beautiful! Any tips on braiding upside down? (like at the 2:00 mark)

Raina TL5Y: My one goal in life rn is to someday be able to do this.

Claudia Gtr: my hair is too frickin long for this hairstyle to do it alone , my arms are killing me now haha

Darth Vad3r35: MY ARMS ARE GONNA FALL OFF!!

Asher Elric: I've always wanted Leia's hair as a kid.

Auryn: could you maybe do Padmè's Mustafar hairstyle?

Emily E: Can you do this with a rope braid, like lacing it in? For example where you see on "The Borgias"?

Fanny Gallez: Excuse me for my english because I speak french! Il love your video's, you are cool! Can you do the hair tutorial of Leia on Endor? (with the ewoks, no with the speeder bikes) I don't know how I most do that!! Thank you very much for your answer! May the Force be with you!!! Fanny

Auryn: i'll need my hair to grow out first for all those star wars looks they all have so freaking long hair :O

Miss Agent E: By the way, I really like the music accompaniments in your videos.

Sophie Beall: hey so i love love this and want to do it for halloween, but my hair isnt that long. I'm not a good braider in general.. i can only do a regular unfortunately but i have like 2 in past shoulder length hair. should be a little longer by then. i noticed you had some extra braid that you wrapped once, but your hair is much longer than mine. any tips to make it work?

Danielė Kezytė: Ypu should watch "Gran hotel" (spanish tv series) with english subtitles and show some of the hairstyles, they should be difficult :D

Miss Agent E: What is the title of the Kevin MacLeod music playing in the background? I really like it.

Anne Watson: Is this hair style possible for long hair?

Craven Morstead: Kind of like King Leonidas' hair from 300.

Lucía Saliwonczyk: isn't it bad for your hair's health to use bobbypins while it's wet? as they're made of metal...

AmbitiousWitch: I have a problem with this braid, seriously. I don't know why it stays in the back of my head. It's impossible.

anika rivera: Thank you yess

Zuzia W: Have I already said that I love you? :D I have only one question: what's the name of the music?

krustomer: ughhhhhhhh i cant get the hang of flipping it around the head properly, especially on the top. it either looks incredibly messy or it is a french braid

Kimberly: Uggg. I've been working at this for an hour. I'm having trouble when I get to my right ear.
