Hey everyone: it's brother, mcmaker, welcome back to my channel. How are you all now? First things, first celebrate good times. Yes, i just wanted to thank everyone. That'S newly subscribed here. I can't believe it heading towards 300 subscribers. So thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. You know always know that you, each and every one of your views and subscriptions are always deeply appreciated. I know that some other other creators say that you know just for the sake of it, but i do actually. I do actually mean it. You know to to feel that there is a people out there that wants to learn from me. It'S an amazing thing. So, thank you for that and just to let you know, i'm not actually filming from prison, which is what it looks like um, i'm filming something else for another channel that i have and if you're interested i will let you know about that a bit later on. So what i thought i would do today is talk you through some of the laces that i like to use when i'm making my lace, wigs and closures and frontals and toppers and things so here we go. Actually, what we'll do is um we'll get the bad bit out of the way. First. Now this first place i'm about to show you it's it's not actually what i would call swiss lace, it's advertised to swiss lace, but it's definitely not specialized, but you know please believe me this list. I got from one of these very well-known apps. That'S that describes it as supposedly, but for the price that i paid for it, and the quality that i got is definitely not real swiss lease. It'S this. It'S not actually lace, i'd describe it more as just a scratchy mesh. As i said, it's not real swiss lace and it's definitely reflected in the price. I think i paid about 12 pounds for a full yard of this and to for 12 pound for a full yard of swiss lace. No, no, a full yard of proper real swiss lace is about four something, maybe five times the price of that. So if you want to practice, you know for your ventilating and making your full-length foundations and things i would recommend using this, but i would not uh recommend using it on things like closures, frontals or toppers, because this one is very uncomfortable to wear two. It'S very very visible on the hairline and yeah: it's not the genuine article, so i wouldn't recommend using this one great for practice, but it's good for nothing else. Okay, so this next one, it's a lace, material called film base. Now i would use this either in the back panels or you know the nape band, or sometimes the crown the reason i say that is because this laces a bit of a stronger lace and it's still quite light in color. So you know it's good for places that you don't necessarily get a close-up of the wig or get. You know proper scrutiny like the front by the part, so there's that it's got a nice sort of light color to it this one. It comes in different colors from the supplier i got it from which i will leave in the description now. This next place. It'S called lace. 60. Now that doesn't mean 60 denier, lace, uh, just it's just a name for it. This lace, i would definitely use in places where it needs. You know more of a durable lace like again the back panel and the um, the nape band. It'S got a nice color to it, hasn't it and again. I think these um come in like the light and the dark, and now we get onto some really really really really nice lights. This is that you know the genuine article actually just take it out the nice packet, because i actually opened this one yet so i've got a small supply from my previous order. It'S like asmr. This isn't it now. This is actually real swiss lace made in switzerland, and sometimes germany and you'll see it's it's quite transparent and it's nice and soft and it blends very easily with the skin, maybe if you're, using it with glues or without glue. You see it's almost very transparent on the skin. This slice can actually be dyed. So you know if you have a client that has that's blessed with melanin yeah, you can dye it to most skin tones. That'S how it looks when it's all nicely folded up. It'S really really nice and soft, really nice pop that away, so it's kept nice and clean and tidy and free from dust and if you're stuck at home. Like me, pet hair, i have three cats. So yes, this lace, i would use in things like frontals or closures or toppers, because it is quite transparent and it is quite it's a little bit more delicate than some of the other ones, but it's definitely durable for light densities. Medium densities. I wouldn't say it's great with heavy densities, because again it is real, genuine swiss place. It'S a little bit delicate, but yeah you just have to you have to. If you're using this, you have to kind of judge how you feel it's going to cope. Do you think it's going to cope with the hair and the weight and again you have to factor in what type of hair you're using? So if it's, if the strands are physically thicker, then obviously that's going to add a lot more weight, um to whatever repair piece you're making, and so you need to factor all that in when you're choosing your lace. Now this next one, it's 30 denier lace. So, as the number suggests you know, as the numbers start to go down and when it comes to laced in years the more expensive it gets and the the more finer the laces. So i don't know if that my camera will actually pick this up. I'Ll have a try. Can you see that you can see it ever so slightly and i'll do a close-up on my finger just so see you can see how really nicely it blends. Hardly anything shown. So this started in your lease. I, if i know that my client is so i'm just trying to fold as well as speak, see men can multitask well some of us anyway. This is actually the finest lace that i would use in any wigs that are going to be like up an everyday wig, because if you go any thinner than 30 in your lace, in my opinion anyway and the more chance you have of the lace ripping the Hairs falling out - and you know, balding wigs and for the time and money that it takes to make these wigs if they're made properly. That is you don't want. You know, hairs falling out of your wig or the lace ripping now this next lace. It is called honeycomb lace now i'll, just do a little show there, nice isn't it. This again comes in all different colors uh. You can have this like this one. That'S quite light. There'S some! That'S medium color, some dark colors! You can also get for whatever odd reason. Some they come in like a reddish tint, this lace um. I would definitely not definitely not use in things like frontals or you know like in the front panels or wigs or for closures or toppers, because it is very thick and no one wants to see grids on your head. Do they? No the whole point of wearing a wig or hair piece is so that it looks like a head of hair and not an actual wig. So no one wants to see that i would definitely use a little closer there for you. I would definitely use this in things that require really high densities, arts and you could, if you're, in a rush, all you need to make a wick and more of a hurry use this, because the holes, the holes, are actually a lot bigger. So if you need to make a wig and a little bit quicker time, i would say to use this one and you can get away with using it in, like the i wouldn't say, the nape band or you. I suppose you could do it in the nape and if your hair is not going to be worn up and you could use it in like the back panel, so yeah there is that option as well. Now, here's when we get to, i would say in the wig community, a little bit of a little bit of a controversial subject now this next lesson, i'm about to show you is called hd lace. It'S actually ultra hd lace, it's about 15 to 20 to new lace. It is extremely extremely fragile. The only time hd list should be used is when you have things like films, so that the list doesn't show on an hd or 4k camera. It'S very, very fragile. I have known stories that sometimes when people have been putting wigs on using these, when they've been trying to fit them, their fingers went right through it and just ruined the complete front of it absolutely ruined, and so that would of course need a cup either. You know a major repair job or a complete refund, and no one wants to muck about with that, and wigs are really expensive lace wicks. You know for the time and materials and money that it takes to make these works. You want to make sure that you use the right materials. That'S why i'm sharing this with you. You know just so. You don't have any major disasters. So this i don't know if this will actually show on camera, but i will try it's extremely thin yeah. So this that is hd lace and, like i said it should only be used in things like for one-off wears, not definitely not in everyday wear. Definitely not because you would have holes going in it. You would have hairs falling out the one. What'S that and you need to remember when hd lace is used to things like films, their art departments have dedicated people who know exactly how to look after these wigs and how to apply and remove them. So this, i definitely would not use in everyday wigs or hair loss. Wigs, definitely not, but if you you know, if you feel that you're very used to using this kind of material, and then you know exactly what you're doing yes, of course go ahead and use it, and when you're, making your foundations and when you're, making the the Frontal part what you can do is fold it over and then for the very front, just have maybe like half a centimeter at the very front of just one single layer but yeah i mean, if you're, prepared to take the risk and use hd lace. For you know everyday everyday breaks, you know knock yourself out, but me personally, i want my clients to have longevity for their works, so i definitely would not recommend using this. For anything i mean the only thing that i would recommend using this, for are things like eyebrows or maybe a very light mustache because i mean, like i said it blends very well to the skin and it just is completely invisible, but again lots and lots of Care and attention is needed when you're using hd lace, and that brings me nicely to the end of this video and i hope it's going to help whoever's watching to help choose your lease for whatever you're making do. Let me know what you're making and what your choices are. That would be really nice to know and if you've not already done so subscribe uh, you know what i'm like i'd love to have new people here. It'S amazing, you know just have a dedicated space to talk all about wigs and hair pieces. It'S amazing now, like i said at the start of this video, i actually have another channel uh, it's a more personal channel. I talk about lots of different things on there. It'S called world venus and again keeping with the theme of love and things. I talk about lots of things like mental health, uh general vlogging. I do videos about things that i, like. I eat coronation street. If people don't know what that is, it's a soap opera here in the uk um, i talk about all kinds of subjects, so it would be really nice if you could subscribe to that one as well, which i will leave the link for in the description, yeah And one more thing before you go if you're interested on thursday, the 8th of april at 7, 30 pm gmt, i will be doing a live on my instagram, with the fabulous jane gage jane works in theater, and she does and she does drag works for some Of the rupaul girls and we're just going to be chatting all about wigs and you can join in and you can submit questions for us to answer and it's going to be really really good fun hope to see you there. Mixsy B: Very interesting! I love seeing you discuss your passion and share your knowledge! You are all about quality!

lostcharge: Thanks so much for this! I have to ask, do you know if you can buy high quality caps (bases) for hand tied wigs anywhere? I love my handtied wigs that I buy, and they have these nicely sewn caps with an HD parting top, and then stretchy lace-like fabric for the rest of the cap... I would love to make my own hand wigs but I would prefer to have the cap be pre-made, if you have any ideas on where to start that would be amazing! Not looking for a 360 lace cap as I have found those, just one with a lace front and deep parting...

Dey NM: Very informative video, thanks I was looking for a review of sorts from the wig department so this was right on

Sabrina M: Youre brilliant for this. I have a question... How do you measure the thickness of the HD lace? Is it in Denier like tights? I was told in mm (0.02mm) and i dont understand the seller and if 0.02mm is thin enough. Help please?

Levi Levitica: Thanks for this video. Ive seen wigs with a stretchy thicker fabric in the middle (machine wigs) do you know what type of fabric this is? Congrats on the new subbies looking forward to seeing you hit 300
