Hey y'all, it's me the micah b and i am back with another video today i am showing you how i achieved this look on a kinky straight lace: wig from amazon, yes, amazon! So if you want to see how i did this, keep watching this video? Also, don't forget to like comment subscribe hit. The bell do whatever it is that you got to do to keep seeing my face stay tuned, so i started off with just a um old cap that i had yes, an old cap. Listen it's all anyway! Um! I just started by applying some lace glue to the front of my forehead and on the sides of my ear. The wig is a full, not a full, but a full, not a full, but it is a um frontal. So basically it is a 12 by 6. I believe um, so basically, i was just pulling the wig out of the box and kind of just shaking it out, and you know i'm doing all the good stuff admiring my makeup. You know everything so i'm just showing you the inside of the wig here and then i grab some makeup so that i can um make sure that the lace blends in with my actual skin tone. Now i did go ahead and um pre-bleach, the i'm not already on the wig, but i like to have it just a tad bit darker. So i just added some additional makeup and, as you can see, i'm just kind of going in and making sure that the lace looks good and then i plopped it on my head. So um just trying to get it adjusted, making sure that my hairline meets where i want it to um. I have a bigger forehead, so i can pretty much put the lace wherever i want to, and it still looks pretty good. So i'm kind of grateful for that um, so yeah, i'm just making sure that the wig is snug on my head, making sure that the hair does not get caught in the glue gun, because once the glue, the lace glue, starts to get pretty tacky. It'S kind of hard to like maneuver the wig and at this point um, i'm just trying to comb the hairs back and press down the glue and make sure that it is a smooth, even application. And i use the ghost bond xl um with extra moisture control. Lace glue, so it does stick pretty good. I wash my face every day, so my lace does not necessarily stick overnight because i actually wash my face now. If i was you know, in a situation where i needed to you know, keep it on. I think it would hold pretty good, so i'm still playing with the front of the lace just making sure that it's laid down and that everything looks good. And it's sticking because you know it's lace and you don't want it to come up and clearly that's what it was doing. And so i applied some more glue, yeah, so um just still applying the glue there. Just making sure that i get an even application - and you know i'm actually just admiring the wig and then i jump to trying to pluck the hairline. Now when i got the um wig from amazon, it was really really soft, no tangling, no shedding um the hairline. Honestly, really doesn't need a lot of plucking, so i found myself just trying to go in and just get a little bit out. Um. I didn't need to do a whole bunch just because the wig was actually great quality like i i'm like very, very surprised that this wig that i got from amazon after what one day, shipping amazon it's pretty good. So i just continue to plug plug plug and um. You know just making sure that the hairline doesn't look too bold, doesn't look too wiggy up top and that's like the key to um lace. Frontal is it's just that you want to make sure you're plucking enough. So that it looks good like you, don't want the hairline to be overly thick and then yeah. It looks crazy, so i was just trying to go in and make sure that that's done and um. You know i plucked it for a few minutes. I plucked it for a while um. I take my time when i do my hair, i'm the one who usually does my hair. I don't go to a stylist or anything like that. So when i am um doing my hair, i want to make sure that i'm doing it pretty good, making sure that you know i'm styling it correctly and making it look as natural as possible. Now, what i'm doing here is combing it up to start the process to make the half up and half down, because that is the style that i wanted to go for, and i will also do another video on other hairstyles. If you guys would like to see that with this wig, but for this video i am achieving a um half up half down um look with the bun at the top and some curls down at the bottom. So i am not gon na lie like it took me a while to um get the wig to sit exactly how i wanted it to sit um i like to have like the little sideburns on the side, and you know i just was playing with the wigs To make sure that the wig was sitting right on my head, making sure that i got um the ponytail right. That was that was kind of hard, because you got lace, you trying to glue it and then you pulling it and then it's yeah so um. It took me a while to do that and get that done and then now, i'm just going in with some edge control edge control. Stick that i just picked up from my local beauty supply. There is no um actual name brand, it's called easy edges and i just picked it up. I think it was about five dollars and i've been using it ever since this is actually my first time um using a edge control stick, so i actually really really like it, and especially for those flyaways. If you have them, they work really really good. So, just going in and trying to um slick this pony back, so look at that girl slick it back. Yes, yes, slick, silly kitty, stick slack combing it back and i don't know if y'all can tell, but this was sliding back a little bit. So y'all will see in a minute where i had to you know re-glue her down because she was moving. She did not want to stay still. She was like not having it, that's not what we're doing today, but it's cool because we tackled her. We got her back down and when y'all see the final resort, y'all gon na be like their final result. Y'All gon na be like yes, come through, wig, see told you she started lifting, so i had to tack her back down and then one thing that i do find helpful with lace glue is that you want to make sure you're putting enough um down on your Forehead or on your skin so that when you are trying to apply your lace wig, you don't have to keep going back and forth with it just make sure you're applying enough a generous amount, the first time and um. You should be good to go. I did not apply enough, apparently, so i had to go back in and apply some more so same thing playing with it, making sure that she is tacked down laid down slayed down. You know um parted me a little sideburn, because that's what i like, i like sideburns, even when i wear my natural hair, i pull some sideburns down because that's just my thing, but yes slicking your down, checking the time make sure i'm not going too long. Now i'm taking my um coarse bristle brush also from the beauty supply store, and i am just brushing up the um roots of the wig and just smoothing that out and the hair is like, i said, really really really soft like. I was not expecting for the hair to be as soft. I love the fact that it has a lot of texture um. I know with the like, peruvian and brazilian, and they say it has like a lot of texture to it or it can mimic natural pressed out hair. But i think that this kinky straight texture is the best match for african american pressed out hair and also depending on the type hair that you have. I have 4c hair. So when i straighten my hair, if i were to um, have like a u-part wig with kinky straight hair and do leave out, i think it would blend pretty pretty good. So at this point the ponytail is being formed. The wig has still stayed in place, and so now i'm just tightening it up and forming that ponytail and then i'm pulling out some of the sides, because that's just like what i like to do with my hair, pull out some of the sides and then i'm Going to redo the ponytail as well, just because i'm pulling out hair as i'm trying to pull down the side burn. So i'm going to redo the ponytail redid, the ponytail tacking, her back down, making sure she's not going anywhere once again takes a lot of patience because it's not easy. I'M not even gon na hold you up. Also, if you notice that big brown spot in the front of the wig is because i um put a lot of foundation there, so i'm going to show you a little trick on how i was able to turn that brown patch back black after we cut the Lace so yeah just cutting the lace, making sure that it's still tacked down to the walls on it, cutting the lace. I don't know why, but cutting the lace is like really really satisfying for me so outside of like the finished product laying down that lace child. It'S satisfying - that's like my favorite part, so i'm cutting the side and be careful with what kind of scissors that you use, because i was using surgical scissors, so small in where um is closest to my skin could have easily cut my skin, so be careful with The type of scissors that you use when cutting lace, because you don't want to stab yourself so yes, i am just cutting still and it's okay, if you have to go into the wig and cut the lace, because the last thing you want is for the wig To be too big, i have made that mistake before in the past: i'm not cutting the lace or going into the lace, because i wanted to make sure all of it was there, but it is perfectly fine to go into the lace of the wig and cut Some of that off to fit your head. It is okay, it's your wig, your head. You want to make sure that it fits you perfectly and, as you can see, i'm actually going into the wig, because i wanted it to fit very snug and very good. Just admiring my little cut that i did now, i'm going over to the next side lifting that up and cutting like. So isn't it just so satisfying to just like watch somebody cut their lace and then it like turns into your scalp like how that work. How you do that so still cutting now we're moving on to the very top of our lace. That top part is like the the papa bear of the lace, like you want to make sure that that top part blends in, because that's the first part that people be looking at when they try to look at your hair and try to figure it out. Like um is that her hair, because if that top lace is detectable baby best believe you're gon na get talked about, but yes, i'm admiring myself. I said: oh girl, you looking good. Yes, so remember when i was telling you about that brown patch earlier well after the baby hairs, that's when we're going to get into that little trick. So basically, what i'm doing here is going in and just pulling out a small section to create the two side. Swoops that you see in the beginning of the video i love a good swoop. I'Ve been wearing swoops since middle school, honey um. If you're from detroit. You know what a good swoop is, because we've been doing this okay. So, yes, i am just forming my swoops. Getting a little excited because the wig is coming together and then i'm pulling some out on the other side to match. The first side that i took some hair out had a little bit come out, but we will fix that and then so. This is a little trick that i was talking about, so i just took some black mascara and i just ran it through the top to make sure that it was back black. So that's the thing that you can do if your lace is um over bleached. If you put too much makeup, just add a little mascara, just comb it through the hair and you're back to normal, you are back to normal because who was going out with a brown patch and not i, so we got her all the way together. So we had to redo the ponytail um, just because we want the ponytail to be as flat as possible. No lumps no humps. We want it to look natural, so we are forming the baby hairs and i was thinking about trying to keep it like long like that to maybe do something else, but i was like no, i'm gon na go ahead and just chop them short. So that's what i did and i just smiled for the camera because i looked like i was looking to mean. Then i went back to me um. So i'm just using a um, an eyebrow, a pencil, i'm not a pencil, i'm sorry an eyebrow razor and i just kind of went in and cut the ends of the baby hair off, and so i used the edge control to go and make the baby hairs. Sticky and i just started using my um fine suit comb and i just started swooping away. This is also very satisfying for me as well, so that bang, i love it. Precision, precision. Precision take your time. The baby hairs ain't going nowhere. So we are swooping our life away. Yes, so after i got done um pretty much re-gluing the side because i know y'all saw it lifting up in the last clip i decided i did not want to curl the top. So what i did was went ahead and just put it in a bun um, and so i just wrapped it around um did not use like any rubber bands or any bobby pins, or anything like that. Because, honestly, the hair is long enough to just wrap around itself. So that's what i did there just made sure that the bun was really really neat. It was to my liking, and so now that i had the bun, i started to use my curling wand, and so i did go ahead and cut these sides um of the wig as well. For my sideburns i had pretty long sideburns, so i went ahead and curled that i usually hold the curling iron up to the hair for at least 10 to 30 seconds, depending on how short or how long the hair actually is. And then i also just ran the heat across the top of the wig so that it looks even more flat and even more um fabulous honestly so doing the other side of my sideburn stood there for about 10 seconds or so um. It doesn't really take that long. I think the heat was when 4 10 so the highest temperature that that is a remington um curling wands. I don't know the actual like barrel name or anything like that, but it's a remington curling wand, so just speeding it up for you guys um. I just started. You know curling curling curling and i was holding it there for, like, i said, 10 to 15 10 to 30 seconds, and it was it's pretty easy to curl this wig i mean like i said i don't get any tangling, i don't get any shedding. I don't get it's so soft, it's not coarse! It'S like the perfect, like wig for really everyday honestly, like i can take that bun down and i'm just coming out the curls and on the one side, and then i'm curling the other side and yeah we're coming up on the end of this video and in A minute you'll see me fluffing it out making sure that the hair is ready to go. But yes, i thoroughly enjoy this um kinky straight lace, wig from amazon in 22 inches.
