2. Clip the piece of swiss lace to a clipboard.

3. Hook the microneedle through one strand of the lace.

4. Take up one strand bulk hair. Pull the mid fold under the strand of lace leaving the loop exposed.

5. Push the tail ends of the bulk hair and pull it through its loop.

6. Repeat this process until you have achieved your desired coverage.

7. Sew the strip of lace into the front hairline of the wig.

8. Cut away the excess lace.

If you have a wig without bangs, or that is a little bit too harsh around the front, you can fix this by creating a quick lace. Hairline.. The first thing that you are going to need is: you are going to need a piece of fabric called Swiss Lace.. Now you can find this at any fabric store.. It is usually around the bridal aisles or with the tulling.. You want to find a fabric that looks sheer once it is over your skin.. Next, you are going to want to cut a piece that is as wide as your front hairline or the area that you are trying to cover.. We have ours, cut and clipped to a clip board. That will help us hold it securely. While we add the fiber., You will want a fiber that matches the wig color.. We are using a dark black Jumbo Braid.. You will also need a microneedle.. This is an extra small, microneedle.. Okay, this is a very subtle process, but we are going to try to pick up just one tiny piece of this lace., So we are just going to hook in and pick up one line. And you want to be very gentle.. Okay. And then you are going to hook one hair., You are going to pull it. Through. Leave the loop out. Go into the loop and pull the end tails of that hair through., And it is as simple as that.. You are just going to continue working in this way., Filling all the holes that you need. To.. We are not going to do every single one.. We are going to skip quite a few., But if you have very thick hair, then you will want to do more and if you want it, thinner, you're going to do less.. This is also a very convenient way to create pieces to cover bald spots or thinning areas.. You are just going to continue working going through and pulling them in.. We have added enough hair that it should cover and mask the front of our hairline. So on here. I'Ve done all these as individual hairs., And I will show you if you get impatient and you do too many hairs at once. It is going to look a little clustered. Here. You can see where we pulled in about three to four hairs per knot. And the rest of these are all in singles.. This is a great method if you need to fill and it is going to be underneath, but if you want to do something that is going to be around a front hairline make sure that you are doing them all in singles., Okay. So now we are just going to put it up to our front hairline. And you can already see how that is just going to soften it out.. This would be much better on a darker skin tone, but you get the idea.. So the next step is to stitch that puppy into place.. We are just going to begin sewing this onto the inside of the wig. That is going to leave this exposed hair just on the ridge of the outside, and it is going to tuck that lace on the inside underneath.. We are not going to worry about cutting the lace just yet., We are just worried about getting it attached. And since this is a very stretchy fiber, you just need to make sure that you are not bunching it up as you sew., So make sure that you Hold it nice and straight.. The last step is to cut the lace away from the hairline.. With your quick lace hairline in place, you will have a much more soft and believable hairline

Yummy Slice: I started doing this about 2years ago and have mastered it. it really is tedious if u are a beginner but the results are amazing.

Laila Cruz: this would totally help me omg thank you so much. does this mean I can fake a regular synthetic wig looking like I have a full hairline?? You're a money saver! thanks again ❤

Doctored Locks: Awww, thanks! You may not be able to find anything specifically called "swiss" lace, but they generally have some kind of fine mesh tulle fabric that will work. Just make sure that it is fine and that when it is laid over the back of your hand, that it blends in with your skin tone. The tripods you can actually get from us. I have been meaning to add them to the site for quite some time. :) They are $74.99 - I have two left if you want one.

henrietta henson: No wonder lace front wigs are expensive ...what a labour intensive job !!!

Mr and Mrs JAY: This is an amazing idea! Thanks so much for being so detailed!!

Kasey Kasket: Great video, instructions clear and easy to see and follow. Thank you!

venuslovechain95: On behalf of the entire Drag community, thank you.

Doris Cox Meshack: Thank you so very much. I was sitting here wondering how to do this when I lucked upon your video. It is so informative, interesting and I love it. 5 !

bellaaahh: thank you sooo much!!! It helped me a lot for my cosplay ^^

kristin swenson: that looks really great, thank you!!!

mabaldwinful: Excellent video doctored locks ! where can I purchase the hook needle and which size is it ? Also is the jumbo hair braid synthetic ? I have several drawstring ponytails when it is fully opened fit like a hair topper with bobbypins, only problem is they have no bangs. Do you think adding hair using your swiss lace method to create bangs will work or is it better to buy your clip in bangs ?

Tay Heavengreen: I love you so much! your tutorials are so well done! very helpful :D greetings from Mexico

Glitterqueen08: Amazing job!

Aalihte: how did i never think of doing this? Doctored Locks is the best!

Konaruhi: Could I use this method to add a bit more hair to the hairline of my wig to cover my own hairline/wig cap? I have a problem with wigs, they hardly ever cover my hairline/wig cap because my natural hairline starts farther down on my forehead. So whenever I wear a wig for cosplay, you can see my natural hairline peeking out of the front of the wig. I thought about doing something like this, but when I asked my (much more experienced) cosplay friends, they all thought it was impossible and that I was absolutely crazy. But you seemed to pull it off! I would just be adding more rows of hair to the hairline, but using the same method as you showed here

Lovebug2719: Thank you for this video I have quiet a few synthetic wigs and the hairline are just like the one in the video,I was looking to see if there was a way to do this and came across your video.off to Michael's I go.ty.again

mzcreecree: <3 this method gur!! thank you!!

Stepfanie Wiggins: Thank you sweetie I love you your video was very ,very helpful

peepla7: that's tulle. I did the same thing...bought tulle instead of Swiss. it works...but not sturdy. I'm thinking mod podge for the back if it's needed for a long lasting wig. I've learned that Swiss has a honeycomb shape and stronger.

Caryn Merriweather: Yes! I needed to learn this!

Esther Rubin: Can you elaborate on the needle I need to buy to do this?

Schierke: this is really handy, thanks for this

loopiewho: amazing i was watching videos about wig maintenance i was thinking about how or if i could add lace to a wig i have which is hard line parted front and up pops your excellent video thank you i will be doing this on Monday

KO: This is NOT quick, but good technique.

Sky Reiri: So cool loved your video.

Brandy McFarlane: you just made my day. thank you

GeeGee Henderson: I enjoy your channel. I have not been able to find swiss lace at any of the fabric stores, could you give me more information, where did you get your tripod? i want one. love you !

Jilian F. Jones: Thank you so much!

Carrot: can I use mesh for this?

peepla7: try pulling it through like crochet....it's faster

Brenda Blue: BRILLIANT! This made me subscribe

Liz Stacy: I have a wig that the hairline has some damage/missing hair. I wonder if this can be used to fill in the missing piece. I would just replace the wig but I can't find another one like it. The tag says SKY WIG, it has a side part, and it's a beautiful shade of purple, with strands of red and black through it. It was one of those "Poshmark sales" where the seller didn't know a lot about it.

peachgutz: Where did you get the needle?

Barbra: Do you sell wigmaking lace? It is so hard to find quality lace here in the states. Please start selling it.

Doctored Locks: You are most certainly welcome!

Doctored Locks: Awww, thanks Sweets!

pan & the Guides: Once you sew the lace you cut the fiber and leave the nots? I didn't understand that part.

Barbara Beverly: Woudn't a crochet hook work better?

This World Crazy: one hair ........ nothing quick about this

glitterdarla: And this is supposed to be quick? While you over here adding hairs individually to lace... eye roll*
