*This is a sponsored video by HerGiven Hair, however all opinions are 100% my own and I only recommend products that I use and love, personally.

Hey y'all, so today, I'm gon na show you how I lay and slay my wigs to make it look natural from start to finish and if you like videos like these be sure to go ahead and subscribe to my channel for more all right. So let's get started, this unit is from her given hair and it is a 20 inch, full lace wig in the texture, curly, which best resembles 3 B, 3 C hair. So the hairline is already pre plucked, which really helps, but I will be doing a little bit of customizing on my own because I like to go ahead and make the the wig look like my own hair. So my hairline is kind of thin and I'm gon na send out the hairline just a little bit more by plucking it in no particular type of manner. The goal is to have an imperfectly, perfect hairline. If that makes sense, so you don't want to be too neat or too precise, so I'm randomly tweezing the hairline, but I'm also making sure that I'm not going too crazy and making the hairline disappear. Another good way to do this is plucking behind the hairline. That way, we don't go overboard with the plucking, so this is how the hairline looks after I'm done plucking. So now I'm just gon na go ahead and cut the lace from the front with some small scissors, and you don't want to cut this in a perfect line. You kind of want to cut it in a jagged way. I'M also gon na cut the lace off in the back as well. Okay, so now onto my real hair being that my hair is thick and curly, I'm gon na steam, my hair straight! That way, it's easier to braid my hair as flat as I can get it without damaging it. So when my hair is all steamed up, I'm gon na start braiding my hair. Now, I'm not gon na braid really really small, because this is a curly wig with lots of volume, so I'm not too worried about the bulkiness of it. However, if this was a bone straight week, you do want to braid a little smaller and a little more flat, as you can see, I'm merging two braids together and the reason why I'm doing this is because I don't want to have to deal with too many Braids at the nape of my neck, which I'm gon na, have to deal with later all right. I know I'm gon na get that I look like Felicia from Friday. So go ahead and let me have it, I get it every single time, all right. So, to get two braids out of the nape of my neck, I'm gon na just pull the braids up and secure them with a hair pin and now I'm just putting a wig cap over my braids all right, moving right along. So this is the construction of the wig cap. It has three combs and an adjustable strap right in the back, however, to secure it and lay it really really flat to the head I'll, be adding an elastic band to do this I'll, be taking an elastic band and stretching it from ear to ear along the Nape of my neck and then I'm gon na cut it according to my measurements, in order for the elastic band method to work you're going to want to make sure that you sew the elastic band to the ear tabs of the wig going along the nape of The neck, so now I'm just gon na sew both ends of the elastic bands of the ear tabs. Like such, I highly suggest using hair weaving thread because it's much more thick and durable, and here you can see I'm using regular sewing thread because they were actually sold out where I went so just don't don't get on me about that. Alright, just let me live. Alright, now that I have that elastic band installed, I'm gon na move on to the baby hairs. Now this is a vital step. You also do not stop watching. Okay, I'm taking a very, very thin section from the hairline and clipping it out of the way, and I'm gon na use a razor to cut the baby hairs like such. I always start off by cutting a little at a time, because of course, we can always go back and cut more, but you can never go back and add more hair, so this is how it looks when I'm done now. Let'S style this hair, I just go wash and deep condition: the hair, so it's pretty wet and at this point I'm just gon na work in small sections, as I would on my own hair from the nape on up using the shingling method and instead of using Gel I'm actually using a styling cream and instead of using my fingers, only I'm using a Denman brush be sure to detangle each section as I styled now. This is gon na make the curls pop. So I already know you're gon na ask me. So let me let y'all know now this wig very little shedding very little tangling. The curls are nice and soft. It really truly resembles 3v3 seen hair. Okay, so now remember those baby hairs that we cut in the beginning. Those served a purpose. Now I'm just gon na gel those down and style it as though it were my own baby hairs doing. This is gon na, allow those hairs to lay flat and behave just like natural baby hair, and for this I'm just using regular eco, styler, gel and a comb, and now I'm gon na, let it dry 100 % when all the hair is 100 % dry and The baby hairs are laid, I'm gon na flip the wig inside out and begin stippling foundation, that's closest to my complexion and then to get in those little crevices and along the hairline. I'M just gon na use a smaller brush. The point of this step is to conceal those tiny little black knots on the lace. Now I'm turning the wig back over and applying some foundation directly to the part in the hairline, okay. So now to installing the wig to do that. I'M gon na flip my head upside down and apply the elastic band to the back of my head and then flip it up. Then I'm gon na just it to my liking and line up the parts now for some more volume and to break up the curls. I'M gon na apply a little bit of serums on my hands and run my fingers through a little bit and fluff it out to my liking. Here, I'm just missing the baby hairs with some water. This is gon na reactivate the gel and allow me to mold it onto my hairline. So now, I'm just going to arrange the baby hair to cover up the lace. In my opinion, baby here makes all the difference when it comes to concealing that area between where the lace and the forehead meet alright. So what, with a long curly wig, be without some nice hanging earrings. This totally completes the look and I'm ready to go out. I'M ready to have some fun, and that, ladies and gentlemen, is how you lay and slay a weak. I really hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial and found it helpful.
