Glueless No Tape Lace Wig Tutorial

This technique was inspired by information found on black hair forums. As a reference I also used MsShayeLove video months ago. I've adapted this technique after getting tired of putting glue and/or tape on my hairline when wearing lace front or full lace wigs. I hate the clean up and I hate that you lose a little hair each application. In this video, I also demonstrate how to cut lace from a lace front wig. I hope this helps someone.

The wig used in the tutorial is a deep wavy indian remy from vimagehair.com

The wig at the beginning of the video is from Friday Night Hair - gLS91

Hey what a few tubes this hero coming at you guys with something that I've never done on camera before. But I've been asked a lot. So I'm just gon na try my best to do how I prepare at least week to actually be warned, because I actually hate the thought of glue and bonding things down. That'S why I don't wear closures. I don't and I've used to lace, wigs the full lace and in the front lace, wigs I've, never bond them down, but some of the ones, the human hair, remy, hair lace. Wigs have that soft lace that you absolutely have to do something to secure it. A little better versus the beauty supply wigs, you really don't need to do anything other than use the combs. So this is what I do to prepare my legs with today. I'M going to use this particular lace, wig and the color is a number four and it's a deep wave wig and you see guys it has pretty decent parting space and it's a very pretty pretty wave. So I'm gon na use this way this wig here today. So the first thing I use to do is I usually cut the lace off I'm going to go ahead and take this off of the big head and just show you guys the inside of this particular. So this particular unit has the two combs right here and it has an adjustable strap in the back and the, and it does have lace in the back because you can bond this down in the front and the back and wear it in a high ponytail. The free parting, though, is only about the first three inches of the front of the wig. The rest of it is is tracked, so you can't you can't have free parking in the back, so it's just the front so other than that. The wig construction is really great and I'm just going to go ahead and show you guys what I do so I cut the lace off and that usually takes a while because I'm very particular about making sure I don't cut the hair. So what I use are these little clips and I take the hair that, like the side that I'm cutting, I usually take it all back kind of twist it because you can just do whatever you need to do to get the hair out of your way. I twist it back, and I just clip this so now I can just easily cut away and then, as I go across, I continue to take that clip out put it over here and do the same. So I'm gon na do that and after I cut the lace off, I then sew in the band. So I'm gon na show you what I do with that. This is the elastic that you can get from Walmart. I don't like the sewing section or Michaels or any craft arts and crafts store, so I get that I measure a measure about. I hope you guys can see this about five inches so from I usually put my little finger where the five I just start stop and I take - and I cut right at that spot. So I just cut that and I usually have hair scissors. I have a kitchen shears right now, okay, so this much and then I take that band and I'm gon na sew it right here where the ear tabs are okay, so front of the wig ear caps. I go down about half inch, and so I would so that bad boy from here to here so I'd, stick this piece in and stick this piece in and then I'll have a nice elastic piece. So I'm gon na go ahead and show you guys how to do that. It'S not that difficult! I just do it so anyway. Just check this out. I'M gon na try to do my best to actually record this process and I'll be right back. Okay, guys. So then, you guys just saw just sewed in and it's cut the lace and I put a cap on so what I do at this point is, I guess, because I don't like this foundation, so I usually use this foundation right here and right on my head. I usually paint the cap, so it's not so light and you know you don't have to do this. I just do a little on the back of my hand, but I usually paint the cap, so so it's not so like when the parts come through and I typically wear a part in the middle. If I am going to oil on the side, so I kind of cook paint this interior very cute and when you put it on, I just got ta tell you when you put these on and just put it on, put it on and I'm just making DISA Just in that band - and it is so so snug you guys I'm talking like ridiculous snug and I don't need to have the cones in and then what I do is when the Lacey depends. The different wig manufacturers have different color lace. This lace is called the transparent lace and I prefer like when they used a brown mace and I'll definitely trim this lace more, but you can just simply color it in so it's not so white as well. You can just do that to blend in so use a foundation as your skin color and just color. It in just wanted to demonstrate that to you guys of what I do with that. Okay. So here we go with this beautiful unit. I'M gon na sit back just to let you guys see how beautiful this unit is and it is on. It is secure, and this unit does have baby hairs. It does have baby hairs, which I like these baby hairs on this unit, because it's not they're not long. It is nice, and you know so you can, if you want it to wear this back, you actually can't wear it back, because you can just disguise the UM, but the purpose of this video is to show you how I actually prepare these wigs. I need to pull this cap up a little bit, how I actually prepare these lace fronts, because I do not like where I do not like bonding them down. It just does not work well with me. So that's what I do. I hope I answered the questions that I've been getting over and over again I hope this video was helpful to somebody. There are thousand techniques on how to prepare a lace front but hey. This is why I do it alright, talk to you guys later

hazelnutflav1: thank you so much for taking the time to show us "newbies" how the pros do it :)

tth715: Indeed this video has helped me as someone new to wearing wigs and weaves. Thank you so much because I have been struggling and not understanding how everyone on Youtube makes it look so easy to apply a lace front w/o glue or tape. I just received my first lace front wig and I can't enjoy it because I have no idea how to make it lay flat and not look crazy so I've been wearing it with hats. I'm going to Walmart tomorrow and get the supplies to try this method, as I have just ordered 2 more:) thx

Wessam Shafek: Awesome going to try this!:)

f4givness: Thank U so much for this video. The visual really helped.

Melinda Schuman: Great video I rather not use glue nor tape also thank you!

sweetcheesepizza: Lolll at the kitchen shears! Hey sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do :) I liked both units, even the one you just threw on! Great tips, thanks for sharing doll

Rina V: Beautiful! Can you also wear that in a high ponytail?

Fredricka Quinn: I never had lace front wigs before and when I saw u on utube your hair looks real and beautiful. I just might try lace front wigs because glueing does work well, but imma just wear lace front wigs without gluing it down. I will give it alot of thought.:)

debra Irving: Thank you it helped alot

loveqdln2: Thanks i just bought a unit and cut the lace and it doesn't fit in the front, i wasn't sure what to do i will try this. Thank you so much.

dominicanmorena: Love that unit...where'd you get it from?

Berry Sweet: Hi, I found that putting the wig on a white wig head then stick it on with pins and use a razor blade to cut the lace it works very well cause you can see where the hair starts really well.

Masked Girl Mukbang: Thank you great vid

Chantelle Bonsall: thanks for sharing!

Doxwifey1999: @kkimberly2004 Yes...it has buckled...plus the elastic will dig in your scalp if stretched too far.

Tee B: Love lace wigs i just do like the sides raising up

Lyn za: very useful tips

kkimberly2004: If you sew the edge instead of coming back about an inch would it make the wig buckle up or something or that was just your choice not to sew it closer to the edge?

Doxwifey1999: @vashtikk11 ;O) thanks for watching!

Doxwifey1999: @2luvlikidz Thanks honey!

Doxwifey1999: @sweetcheesepizza LOL.. yes ma'am... as long as it gets the trick done!

Hepa Tran: I can see the lifted lace. I purchased a wig and its beautiful, but the soft lace sucks.

Brenda Babirye: thanks nice video

JANE Goodman: Its still loose along the your hairline though!

Doxwifey1999: @kandie731 I thought I put that at the end of the video... the one I am wearing in the beginning though is the Friday Night Hair GLS 91...

kkimberly2004: @doxwifey1999 oh o.k....thank you!

Doxwifey1999: @mekax3 LOL...thanks for your support!

Doxwifey1999: @loveqdln2 Oh yes... this just may do the trick.... good luck!

JoLady: This would be the ONLY way I could wear a lace wig that has the very soft lace. I sweat like I am laying on the equator at 12noon......so glue and tape would NEVER work for me. Does the elastic keep the side tabs from flapping up or do you still need the bobbi pins? BTW. Glad to see you weathered hurricane Irene okay. I live near Atlantic City, NJ and minus a tornado scare we got through okay as well:)

Terri Sargent: Newbie her..why do you wear a lighter cap when most videos I seen the women wear black caps? Thanks.

Fredricka Quinn: That was helpful. Thank u Do uxwifey

Toni Lamar: Very Good...

goody doody: HOT MESS !!!!!!
