Hey guys welcome back today, i'm going to show you guys how to make this updo wig with a headband around it. The headband is actually attached to it. This is how it looks, and this is the inside we're going to be using an extra large dome cap. I prefer this kind of cap for this kind of wig, so we're gon na use that, with one and a half bundles of kinky curly hair, i always like to give my wig a front and a back so i'm gon na use this as the back. I'M gon na use the two seam lines to identify the back of it and i'm going to align it with the back of the block head just like that, and then i'm gon na sew the tracks not in the traditional way. This is really important. So this is the traditional way, and that is what you should not do. We'Re gon na place it the opposite direction of what you normally know. If you have made weeks before you know, this is not how we place the tracks, but on this week this is how you're gon na place the tracks sort of upside down, because the tracks are supposed to face upwards. It is an updo, so we're gon na place the tracks upside down, just like that for the sewing we're going to sew in this direction. Follow my finger so we're going to sew in circles and circles and circles until we get to the top. Where there's no more cap to sew so we're going to sew around and around until we're done at the top, this is really important. I'M going to show you guys, one more time so we're going to place the tracks upside down. This is the placement. That'S the center back, so we're going to place it upside down and then sew in circles and circles and circles continuously we're not going to do any flip over until we get to the top pretty easy. We'Re going to start sewing around where the ear should be right there, so we're gon na place the cap on the sewing machine and then place the track upside down. Just like i showed you and then just start sewing in circles. Now, when i sew, i don't really stretch the cap like i pull just enough to lay it flat so that it's not um, it's not puckering and i sew i don't really pull. Sometimes i pull just a little bit, but i don't really pull it along when it comes to the spacing. I try to leave just enough space that can fit about one finger between the tracks, but for the first, like three tracks that you sew it's important for the space to be a little bit less than a fingers width. And i'm going to show you why. So when you sew you're going to have to learn how to use your left hand to move the hair out of the way, because we have we're sewing on a really tight spot, so use your left hand to move the hair out of the way and then Use your right hand and the left hand too, to guide the hair, so i'm halfway done or almost this is how it's looking right now, that is the back, and that is where i started the first track around the ear. So this is how she's looking right now at this point, i think i had sewn the half bundle, so i still have the entire full bundle to sew on it. Yeah she's bald right now, but we're gon na sew her up. So this is how she is looking right now that is our updo and i'm just going to keep sewing like. I showed you before in circles and circles until i'm done, it gets a bit more challenging when you get towards the top, because there's hair everywhere, you just have to be persistent, because you're almost done just use your hands to spread the hair and then keep sewing And then one thing i have to remark is that when you do this style always use a block head, that is a whole size. Bigger than yours is very important, because the first ones i did with my size were just too tight. Remember i said when you sew the first three lines: it should be less than the fingers width. So this is what happened. It was about a fingers width and now i have like these spaces that are visible. So when you do yours, those first three lines at the back make sure they're closer together, so i'm gon na add one more track in there. However, this is a kinky texture, so when you comb it and it flops out, most of those holes are actually going to cover themselves up we're going to separate the curves just a little and before i do, i like to wet it, because i like it to Retain some of the curls and by opening up the curls we're going to do with just very minimally, i'm actually going to do four combs, like i'm, going to comb this way four times to be exact, and that's it don't do more than four or well just Do it to your preference actually, but for me i like to comb it just a little bit like that's enough right there, and then i'm gon na proceed to put it up in a ponytail. When it comes to the ponytail. I actually prefer to use thread as opposed to elastic bands, so the problem with elastic bands is that it just gets tangled up with the hair. It just gets entangled get it i'm so silly. Okay, i like to use thread so thread just does a better job. When i'm doing the ponytail so at the bottom of the ponytail i use thread, but when i'm doing the messy bun at the top, i just use an elastic band, a very loose fitting elastic band and that works out perfect. For me, at the end of the day, just do it to your preference, because sometimes i wear this wig like really messy, and sometimes i do the bun. So you really don't have to use the thread or elastic band. Just do whatever works for you and then these headbands, i get them from amazon. I'M gon na put a link in the description box. It comes in a set with some really cool colors and i, like the gray. I think the gray is my favorite, but i'm going to show you the other colors later in the video so put the headband on from the bottom of the mannequin head, so that you don't mess up the hair at the top and the front part always has That dome cap exposed so we're gon na bend it over we're gon na bend it to get it out of the way and push a pin down there to hold it so that when we put the headband down you see, that's part that was visible is gone And then we're just gon na align the headband with the dome cap. When i do the alignment i like to put more of the headband on the wig itself than off the wig. So when i do the alignment, then i use a pin. I use a t-pin to just put it through and i make sure it goes through both the headband and dome cap underneath that's very important, see i'm feeling for the dome cap and i'm making sure that the pin goes through both of them and, like i said Before when you get to this part, you should really use a block head that is larger than your regular size. I can't stress this enough because these caps tend to run really small. I don't know why so we're gon na fold it back so that we can start sewing, and i really dislike this part because it is hand sewing. I do not like to hand sew at all, but i got ta do what i got to do so fold back the headband and expose the dome cap underneath and then we're going to start sewing. And when you do, it's really important that you use a thread that matches the headband, so we're gon na start sewing there and just make sure like. I should have used gray thread, not black, and i realized only later, but always make sure your thread matches the headband when you sew your needle should go through both the dome cap and the headband just like i'm doing so. The needle has to go through both of them and when it's going through the headband make sure it goes through a very small piece of it, so that the thread does not show on the other side. And when you get to that part that was folded over you're, putting the needle through three things through two layers of the dome cap and the headband, and it was really tough doing it. I had to use a band-aid to protect my finger because i was getting hurt by the needle. It was really tough pushing that needle through. I don't know why, but it was kind of a struggle doing that front part. So i'm just using a regular blanket stitch. Nothing too complicated and when you fold it back over, you should not have any thread showing see that i don't have any thread showing through that's because when you pick up the oh there's, this little thread right there, just a little. So just try to make sure you don't grasp too much of the headband when you're putting the needle through pull put the needle through a very, very small part, so that it doesn't pass over to the other side. I wish i could do this part on the sewing machine, but my fear was that it's not going to stretch if i sew it on a sewing machine. You have to sew it on the block head for it to have some stretch. Now it's looking good like something you can actually wear and go somewhere. You know it looks nice and i mostly designed this for those who want to wear it to go exercise and, like i mentioned before, make sure your thread matches. So this is just an example with a cream white, so i used a cream white thread now it's time to try it on, but i'm going to show you the inside. This is what it looks like on the inside and the whole thing looks pretty good. So there we have it. It took me about 45 minutes from start to finish, to make the whole thing so there we go. I think i like it, and these are the other colors that i made you
