Review: Ebin New York Headband Wig - How It Held Up On Vacation

So, what's up everybody, it's been so long since i've been on here, i'm so sorry um. I have not been doing youtube content at all, but i've been very active on my instagram. I just recently cleared 10 000 followers. Okay, so follow me on instagram. If you do not already okay, so i am here with new hair content for you guys, but before we get started, let's get a couple things out of the way you ready here we go as some of you can see. I did temporarily change my hair color. It'S red right now on the ends where my hair color was the lightest um. This is temporary hair color. I did it with a hair conditioner called biologe, i'm going to do a separate video for that um, so that y'all can see the process. However, i did already do a short um thing on it on instagram, so if you would like to see the short version of it, please go to my instagram at hopelessromantic and you can see that there it's in my highlights. It should be in my highlights by now um, but i'll do a separate youtube video for that as well, because i really like the product and i'm going to use it again. But this should this red should be gone after, maybe like two more washes um. So that's out of the way number two i am wearing. I know my hair looks a little busted right now, but that's all right because we're about to do it that i mean that's, why i get on youtube is to do my hair. Now, let's get to the reason we are all here, so i did a thing. I am first, let me okay, i'm gon na give y'all some little background cause i feel like. I do not share very much like very many personal details on here, whatever, but anyway, so as a content, creator influencer whatever you would like to call me um, i'm obviously doing my hair multiple times sometimes a week, but i try not to you know to get Away from over manipulating my hair and breaking it off and all that other um sad stuff, but um. Sometimes that means, though, that i can't do the styles that i want, because i have to do a different style for a paid sponsorship, or something like that. So it's memorial day weekend: that's when i'm recording this! It probably will not be going up that weekend because i'm going on vacation, but that's the point i'm going on vacation. My first intention was to get box braids right, but then i had a bunch of sponsorship. Deals come in right before so it was dead on the box braids, but i was like i'm going on vacation. I don't travel with my natural hair out when i'm gon na be swimming and all of that, because who has time you know what i'm saying like not me, so i was kind of like annoyed by that like, but i wasn't gon na tell them. No because i would like my money, but so i was like. Oh my god, i know what i can do. I know what i can do. I know what i can do so here's what i decided to do. I was like okay, i will just get a headband wig right because also on vacation. Well, first of all, i don't really know how to lay down a regular wig like i'm, not one of those girls. I i don't have a clue how to do lace or whatever it looks. Cute looks nice. I don't know what to do so. I was like i'll get a headband wig, because those are cute. I can just put a bunch of headbands on whatever i want. A curly one, so i don't look crazy. Whatever my head, my forehead's a little big, so i wanted something that was going to be kind of full but of course, in the time frame that i wanted it because i thought of this last minute. I could not get one sent to me in time and i was also trying to get one sponsored, because that would mean i would get it for free, but that didn't work out either. So instead i went to the trusty good old-fashioned beauty supply store right. I went to ebony beauty supply store here in tampa florida shout out to y'all and shout out to the girlfriend too shout out to the girl who helped me. I can't remember her name, but she was everything she got me. The wig that i needed, but i bought me a headband wig from the beauty supply store. Can you believe it and it's real hair, it's human hair, let's get into it. This is the please forgive me for saying this incorrectly. If i'm saying it incorrectly, it is eben eben new york, taylormade bundle, wig handmade human hair, double wefted, headband wig, it's 100 unprocessed brazilian human hair. Now, clearly, i'm not brazilian, but you know the brazilians had the curls that i was looking for for vacation. So that's what we going with i'm just gon na go ahead and unbox this, for you really quickly: oh all, right, very cute packaging. So we've got! This is not my first time opening this, so it may look a little disheveled and that's because i've been playing around with it or whatever. So here is the wig. It is in its netting um. I got tagged and it came with a couple of other headbands as oh well, they are attached to this paper. It came with some other headbands that i could use as well um. Now i bought other headbands because i'm not really like these are paisley and they're cute, but i'm kind of a solid colors kind of girl. So i bought some other solid ones. I'Ll show y'all in a second but here's, the headbands that it came with in the box. This was about, i think, 180 um and i believe i got like a little bit of a discount um, but i'm gon na remove the netting, so she is curly and i'm gon na take some mousse with me on vacation to keep her. That way. I was kind of looking for big curls like a bigger curlier headband situation, but i think this will do like you know. I think this is going to be really cute. I tried it on in the store and i did like it. It is dark which my hair normally is not my hair is brighter, but i'm on vacation. These people don't know me, they don't know what my hair normally looks like so we're going with this um, and so here is the headband piece of it. It just kind of slides right on it's so wide. I don't know why they do the headbands this wide on headband, wigs, but people with big foreheads like me like i cannot have my. I can't have my wig sitting all the way back here, because i do. I have to show some of my edges. You know what i'm saying like i got. Ta show the baby here. So if i put the wig on like i can't, i can't wear it like that. So i'm gon na have to wear it like this, and that's just wait like that's too far back so i'm probably gon na end up folding this under and giving it like a little bit of a shorter headband situation and then adding a headband over top of It um but anyway so yeah. This is the wig and i guess i'll open it. So i can check out the headbands. It feels great it's human hair, so i can wash it um. Here'S some of the headbands. Also very thick. I don't know y'all. I probably won't be wearing any of these, but i'll show you all the other ones in a second. It smells like a wig, so i would probably spray it with some like oil sheen or something just to give it a different little scent um yeah. This is cute right. It feels great, it does not feel like it's gon na shed. No hair is coming out in my hands um. I hope that it doesn't shed a lot, so i know i feel like the question that is lingering. I hear y'all. I hear your mind being like so girl. What are you gon na do when you swim like? Are you intending to swim in this wig and the answer is, i'm not sure yet and and i'm just being transparent? I do not know what i'm about to do in this wig, besides putting it on my head, so that when i get back, i can just continue to style my hair, but it does have combs um, a front comb and a back comb. This is the back comb. This is the front comb. That'S going to sit across your hairline um. I wish it had some on the sides too, but that's okay, it's small! The netting is small. I have kind of a little p head besides my forehead, so i'm glad that this is not big, so i wanted a big hump in the back. Y'All know what i'm talking about. So let's get this started, then i'm gon na braid my hair down and then come back because i don't even want y'all to see me braiding my hair on screen like it's embarrassing, i'm not a great braider at all, so yeah. Let me do that and then i'll be right back all right, so i'm back my hair is braided. I have begun brushing my baby hair down i'm using this edge booster. I see all the girls on the internet using it, but i never used it before and that's kind of cute. I guess so i'm using that now. So, let's get into that, i'm not really a fancy baby hair type of person, mostly because i don't know how to make my baby hair fancy so we're gon na go with a basic swoop. Oh okay me hold on because i feel like this. One can be broken down into two okay. Yeah typically, is that done? I don't really know what i'm doing honestly, so we're gon na leave that where it is all right, oh, i need a wig cap, okay, so full transparency. I lost an entire chunk of this video i went from. I need a wii cap and the clip of me actually putting on the wig it's gone so here i am recreating that i wasn't gon na say that i wasn't gon na tell y'all that this is a brand new clip that was never in the video, but It is what it is, i'm re-recording it. I have some twists in my hair. These aren't braids um they're smushed down. I did my baby hair a little, but not even that much. I just want to show you how to put the wig on or how i put the wig on. So i what i did was start here and i pulled the headband forward right and then there, oh i'm lying so i'm gon na put it on in the back first right. So it's on in the back and there's a little clip like a little comb under here. So i'm just sticking the comb under the wig cap. I don't think i can get close enough to the camera to show you that, but i'm sticking the comb under the wig cap underneath my braids, so it has something to grip. Then i'm going to take. Oh that's my stocking cap. So i'm going to take the front part of this wig and i'm going to also stick this a little bit underneath the wig cap um. But here's another trick. So i'll pull this back. My stocking cap back a little bit and i'm gon na fold this headband under because again it's so thick for no reason. I have no idea what's this thick and then i stick the comb like as long as the headband is not obstructing the comb. You can still stick that in there and it makes the headband a lot smaller and then you kind of just look like you put a headband on like with your sewing or whatever. So here she is here. We are with this um. This is with just a like a little bit of water on it. Um and i brushed it out, so it's not really defined, but in the next clip um well the clip after the next one. I will show you how to get the curliness that you will see um once this clip is over. There will be a clip of the wig what it first looked like and then, after that clip will be a clip of what it looked like after vacation. I eat this and how to refresh the curls, so i wore it like this um. I also incorporated other headbands, so you know i can throw this little headband on tie it behind and kind of just have that on. If i want, i ain't tight that i didn't tie it at all really but like see, that's cute or i did wear this one on vacation and you can see that by going to my instagram, as i said before, um and actually you would want to put This i put the headbands on like around my neck before i put the wig on, so that i didn't have to go through pulling it over the wig, but putting this little headband right over top of that black um band. That'S on the wig and kind of just yes having that sit there cute. Obviously you can do it neater, you can have it. You can also tuck this underneath the black heavy and, like so sorry, this the sides of it are kind of bulky, but you get the idea like you can switch out the headbands and make it look. However, you want. I pull this hair over a little bit because i feel like it makes it bigger and i was looking for more volume, but you can also just kind of wear it back. If that's your thing, um yeah you can. I had it up in a ponytail at one point: it was raining and the way it got wet, but it wasn't that bad. You know it was kind of cute, so you can do a lot with this wig. You know what i'm saying i had a time with her, but that's it that's what we got all right. So after this clip you will see um all the stuff that i already told you. You were gon na see, i'm so sorry that i had to re-record this. Whatever y'all get the idea moving on i'm back, i didn't do the most with the makeup, because again, i'm just about to go, run errands, but check back on my instagram. I'M not even gon na hold you. She helped me down, you know what i'm saying like. I did not do any underwater excursions or anything in the wig, but i have very little complaints very few complaints about if any about the way that this wig acted. While i was outside of the country um yeah, let me first start by saying that i know my makeup looks a little crazy right now, but i went on vacation got a little tan and i forgot that i needed to make my foundation match and i feel Like i didn't do a great job, i don't know whatever i'm here and i'm telling you all about this wig. So right now it looks a little disheveled. I wanted to come on here and show you like. I didn't want to make it super clean cut or whatever, because i wanted you to see like what it looks like by the end of the day like when i was wearing it out of town. It was very humid um and so it kind of began to look like this, which to me was okay. I was even using a pick to comb through it instead of a brush or um or whatever, to smooth the curls out, because i like this kind of volume um, but there are a few things that you can also do to make it look cuter. So i'm gon na brush through it, because i have not detangled it. I just kind of slapped it on my head um. I also i didn't even wear half of the um headbands that i took with me because, as you can see, the headband itself like, if you kick it back enough, like it kind of especially from far off it kind of just looks like your hair. You know what i'm saying or, like you have a regular wig on or a sew in, or something like that. So i didn't do the most um with the headbands. I wore a couple that matched a few of my outfits or whatever, but i didn't really make it a point to try to wear a lot of the headbands after i realized how cute it looked without the headband or you know the look. It was kind of giving me without putting the headband in so um. You see it's not really taking me much to just brush through this a bit um, it's a little tangled again. I just threw it on my head. I didn't do any prep work beforehand, um, and this is after me wearing it. I was there for what four days five days, four nights, so you know she had a time. You know i did do a bunch of activities. I was outside a lot and this is kind of what she was giving. I am not mad at this. I actually wanted a wig with bigger curls, so this kind of volume, a little bit of frizz, is right up my alley. Um and again, this is a beauty. Supply store, wig 100 human hair, but this is not no custom. You know three four hundred dollar wig, so i am quite pleased with the way she looks um now. Let me show you kind of what else i did while i was out there to kind of refresh the curl, because it rained a couple of times so the wig did get wet and it actually looked mad cute wet so um, okay. So this is something else that i did kind of to refresh the wig, so i took a little bit of water or if it was already wet um - and i didn't do this often because again i like the volume um and we did have a blow dryer In our room, so that also made it a little easier to do this, but the wet look was kind of cute, so something that i did to bring the little waves back when it was time for that when i was really trying to see wet and wave Isha, this is what i was doing. You know what i'm saying: mm-hmm, okay, so that's wet enough. You see now she's kind of laying down getting getting into a little bit more of the wave pattern. Oh a little bit of hair coming out, but not much um. It'S not giving as much value volume volume not on this. This piece back here, ain't wet for real okay, so i got my wet and a little wavy it ain't too wavy just yet. I said i was done with the water and look at me spraying. Some more on there, okay, so i would do that scrunch it up a little and then i'll. Take my laid by puff cuff silky, smooth curl, defining mousse and put a little in my hand, not too crazy and just rake that through first of all, this move smells great um ew. So if you know you have to kind of wet and wavy on the go and your wig is kind of, i will admit it was kind of smelling like outside at one point because i had been outside so much, but i mean i mean it didn't smell Bad it just i was outside, so the wig was smelling like it had been in the sun, but you see what you see where i'm going with this. This is cute right, so i was doing this and just kind of like scrunching it up and running a blow dryer over it or not, because the wet look was kind of cute um. So yeah again, i'm sorry that i'm not looking directly into the camera, because i don't have a mirror. I'M using the display screen to see what i'm doing but yeah it's giving wet and also wavy so get into her and then, when it dries. It kind of just dries like this. I would go ahead and dry it, but i don't think that i have time i'm gon na have to run out again, but the you know it kind of looks cute wet hold on. Let me hit the ends a little bit because they're still looking a little frizzy yeah get into her, but you see the difference from the beginning of when i first put the wig on to now and i haven't lost a lot of density. I have not um the wig is not raggedy um it really, i'm not even joking. It really held up during vacation. This is very much vacation hair and i just took her off at night and i had my little straight back braids and i was going to bed and i would just wake up every morning brush my edges down put my little um wig cap. Little stocking cap thing on and primp my wig. The way that i want it, whether that was like this or sort of like um, picked out a little bit more with more volume. But that's just you know, that's where i was going with it and i kind of like it, and i hope that you do too again. This is not sponsored.
