Hey guys, it's Heidi, and today, I'm gon na show you how to braid a lace front wig. These are the types of wigs that I favor whenever I cosplay, because they have a much more realistic hairline than your regular wigs they're a little bit more expensive. But in my opinion, it's always worth it to go the extra mile and get that little bit more accuracy or believability. This wig was provided to me by here.com. They are a company that specializes in synthetic lace front wigs and they have a huge variety of colors and styles, so you should go check them out. Thank you so much he here for sending me this week. What makes a wiggle lace front is this mesh? That'S located all along the hairline in the front, it has individual hairs, tied onto it to simulate a more natural, realistic, hairline on a brand new lace front wig. The lace is several inches wide and you have to cut it down yourself, which I have already done. As you're cutting a lace front wig, it's best to start with a pair of small scissors that have small blades that are easier to control, and you want to just very carefully cut closely along the hairline without cutting the hair, if possible, depending on how the wig Fits you, you might want to leave a little bit of extra space like up to a half inch of extra lace before the hairline starts. Having that extra margin is really useful, if you want to attach the way with wig tape or spirit gum, and that way you don't get the sticky residue left in the fibers of the wig. The lace on this wig is actually slightly darker than my skin, because I'm super pale, so it shows up when I'm wearing it. I ended up cutting off a little bit more than what I'm showing here. I feel like most people would not have this problem, so you can leave a little bit more of the lace on the wig. I had to cut it all off so that there isn't a border around my face, so he here also sent me some wig caps, along with the order. It came with two of these, and these are black mesh that are really easy to use, and so let's go ahead and put it on so there's a band of elastic around the outside. This is gon na be on your hairline, and then this stays on the top of the head. So the easiest way to put this on is to just go all the way onto your neck and pull your hair out and then grabbing the top part of it. Well, actually, the whole thing you can situate. It then around your head: oh gosh, if you have a ton of hair like I, do it's usually a better plan to braid it all up before you try to shove it into a wig cap, but we're not doing that today. This is the quick and easy way to put on a wig alright, so that is all situated, feel it's nice and tight around the head, and next we will take the wig after you cut the lace, of course, there's some elastic straps on the inside. If you need to tighten it around your head, but mine is usually pretty comfortable on the largest size and there we have it and I'm using a specialty hair brush to brush this out. I bought this myself. It has loops for the bristles so that there's no way that they can snag the hairs. So you can part this wig wherever you want along the hairline. It has about an inch or two of parting space up here along the lace, so this does feel really tight around my hairline and it's holding itself in place really well. So I don't really need to use any wig tape or spirit gum, but if you do need to use that on your own wigs, this is just a little roll of wig tape that I have you can cut off a tiny bit of it. You don't need very much just like maybe a little piece in the crown of your head and then sometimes a little bit of the sides, depending on how your wig fits you, and so this stuff is basically just like a double-sided tape that comes with a backing On it so cut off yourself, a little piece of it and then just gently lift the wig. So now I've got a little bit of tape under there just position it right where I want it boom. Now that is extra secure if you're gon na be wearing a wig like old attic on or something like that, like I said that step is optional. If you don't have any lifting around the hairline, then there might not. You need to use spirit, gum or wick tape, but I definitely prefer the wick tape when I do have a need to secure that hairline as it works pretty well. So I'm pretty happy with this wig, it's very thick. The fibers are not prone to tangling, which is really nice. I wear this with my Halloween costume this year and spent all night at a party and didn't have any problems with it tangling or becoming a mess, which is a huge issue. Most of the time. With long wigs, so I'm naturally a redhead, and I don't like to dye my hair because it's rare and unique - and I really like it most of the time but there's still a lot of fun in just being able to change your hair color and try new Things and see yourself in different styles, so lace, front. Wigs are my favorite way to kind of get to enjoy that as well without having to do anything, that's permanent or expensive. So this is a really great way to change your look instantaneously and try out in different styles, without having to commit or spend a bunch of money on maintenance and stuff like that. Overall, I really enjoy this wig. It'S really thick and has a nice soft fiber and the soft lace it's comfortable and easy to wear and I'm sure that I will use it in future cosplays as well as just for fun, but I feel like dressing up a little bit. Thank you so much. He here for sending this to me and thank you to everyone for watching. Hopefully this was helpful to you and now you know how to do your own lace front wigs for the future. Thank you guys. So much for watching and I'll see you later

Koumori No Hime Cosplay: This was amazingly informative! I just tried my first lace front and will definitely be using some of these tips the next time I wear it. Thank you so much for making this video!

Thats Brutal: I got this wig and it's my first one and it's great!

Wraith H: Brilliant video!

Flamefire124: I know you said you had long hair, but do you think that extremely long hair (like 3-4ft) is hard to get under a wig without changing how it looks? I'm always worried my hair would mess up a wig, but I obviously don't want to cut such long hair.

Justin James Montague: Hey Heidi! After styling a wig, is it possible to take the style out? Can you wash a wig?

Mentally Stable: I'm super pale as well but I'm always too scared to cut the lace too closely

Waxsee: Dammit, Heidi, I love your videos so much!!

Myah Wyah: It look so natural on her cause it match her

Emissary of Wind: Heahair wigs are super nice, but also suuuuuuper expensive compared to other manufacturers :/

quietrioter: Heidi of House Targerian
