THANKS FOR SUBSCRIBING AND WATCHING, I APPRECIATE IT. xoxo

Hi guys, thanks for joining me today in today's video, I'm going to show you how to take your lace front, wigs those lace, front ways that we also loved so much. We have a love-hate relationship with them list for some of us once you cut the lace, it starts to scratch and poke you right at the hairline, it's irritating. So you know you don't want to wear it. I have quite a few of those lace, wigs that want to remove the lace, and once I remove the legs, it was just impossible for me to wear because of the scratching and the poking and the irritating along this part of the hairline. So what I did was, I figure out a way to wear them, and so I'm going to show you how to do that. But first let me show you the look I'm going to be using today. This quote: this is an out relay front wig. It'S called the owner in the color is a 1b 30, and this is the way I'm going to be using. I'M also going to be using a needle and a thread so you're going to need thread. Regular sewing thread for this. I'M not going to use weaving thread, although I have not used weaving thread on this method. But if you want to try it, you can. But today I'm using regular Taylor thread just regular sewing thread and I'm using black today, because black is easy to camel it's going to be easy to camouflage the the thread. So also you need a pair of scissors and I'm going to be using a pair of crafting scissors. Let me show you I'm going to be using these scissors just a regular pair of scissors, because I find that when I remove the ladies from the lace wigs, it doesn't matter if it's a pair of professional cutting, shears or just a regular pair of scissors. The lace on the wig, it's still itching scratching, it's just still poked you and that's just the way the lace is designed and once you remove once you cut it you're just making these short jaggedy edges that really can't be avoided. Okay, guys so here is that lace that very firm itchy legs are just itches and scratches the hairline. Once we cut it, some people have actually said it. It kind of breaks off their hairline and natural hair line. I know I find it's like very uncomfortable to wear and pokes. It feels like it's cutting my scalp sometime, so I'm going to remove the lace, the way it's described by the manufacturer and then I'm going to show you what else we're going to do. Okay. So I'm going to start cutting and what you want to do is when you remove your legs from your wigs, you don't want to cut it all the way back to the natural hairline. You want to leave about a small, a small amount on. I want to say 3/8 of an inch, but maybe that's shorter than 3/8 of an inch. I don't know if you can see that, but you don't want to cut it all the way back to the natural hairline of the way. Save some saves on your own because we're going to be using that extra bit of space that we're going to have on the wig so, as you can see, see how much space is left leave that amount, because that's going to help us when we get ready To walter the way so we're going to take the wig and start from the inside we're going to work from the inside you're going to fold over your lace just the way. You see me doing now that bit of lace that we left over I'm going to fold it over hope you can hold this down with your fingers or you can use pins to hold down the lace. As you see me doing now, I'm not going to use pins because I've gotten used to doing this without using straight pins, so we're just going to start sewing the lace down and you're going to shut so right through the hair and everything. So if you can see me doing that and we're going to do it just like this first just pull the needle in and out a couple of times, so the thread will lock itself into place. We'Re just going to thread it through again. You just want to lock the thread into place and now we're going to begin to sew, we're just just we're just going to tack it down and that's basically, all we're going to do and see. I'M just sewing right through the hair, and you just simply want to tack it down and don't make it threat too long. You can't have it too long. It'S just going to get caught up in the wig and everything. So you just want to keep it short. Pull that piece down and continue to so take your time, because the thread can easily get caught up in the comb or the hair. So you want to take your time and just pull the thread through just like this again, you can use straight pins to hold the lace down as if you were sewing a hem. You can do that or you can hold it down with your fingers. The way I'm doing - and you want to take your time and do this - and this is going to work guys, because now, what we're doing is we're creating a new edge on the wig, so we're taking that hard scratchy legs and now we're folding it under. And you won't feel it once it's folded, so you don't have to worry about it. Scratching your head in another area that you won't be able to feel it fold it down as you go along or again, you can just use straight pins just like that. Okay, guys, I had to stop and read thread my needle, so I'm going to continue the same so method. This is very easy. It'S so quick and if you know how to sew - and I know you all do because a lot of you guys are making your own wigs, this will take you between five and ten minutes, and it goes very, very quickly and so again guys. This is what it looks like it's full all folded over fold it over, so that scratchy lace is going and at the eggs now of the wig is hair, and this wig only had maybe like less than a half of an inch of parting space. So that wasn't much parting space anyway, so this is what the hair line looks like now. Let me show you this way. This is what it looks like and I'm going to put it on for you and show you what it looks like. Okay, guys, here's the wig. Let me just show you what it looks like this is a nice curly do, and I have to say that I only did this method on curly wigs, my curly wigs and I did it on a body weight wig and it worked really well worked out. Really. Really well, and so that's what the hair line looks like when you wear it. This is the underside of the way, the part that we sold, and here it is right here that lace. We just folded that lace over right here and sewed it down. Let'S see what it looks like always remember to put on your wig cap, and I just had on an edit wig cap - guys nothing special, so I'm not going to put the cones into place because I just want you to just to see how it looks. I'M going to put this back in the bag and save it for when I need another wig and yeah guys this is it, and let me just show you what the hairline looks like. I can show you up close. This is what it looks like so that you can wear it as far to the front of your hairline as you want, and it will not scratch you Pope, you won't irritate at all laying nice and flat very flat right here at the front of the hairline And so yeah this is it guys. This is her altered now she's a lace front, and now I can wear it now. Let me just say this guys: if you find that juice you've sewn your wig, but you still think it feels kind of you may can feel it a little bit, especially if your scalp is very sensitive or your hairline is very sensitive, simply just go back in And sew it one more time, just sum it down one more time: don't take any threads out, just sew it down again and it shouldn't. Take you long they'll. Take you five minutes, the first time you do it and if you need to do it again, just do it again, and this is Leona. Okay, guys. If you have any questions about this method, what you see me do today, it seems confusing if you need any clarification. Just please leave the questions in the comment section below and if you very happy to answer them as soon as I can okay guys. So I hope this helps. It helped me a lot. I hope it helps you take care and I'll see you at the next video bye, bye,

Take Control Beauty: If this works Im gunna send you the biggest smooch ever. LOL I bought two lace fronts one John Reneau and the other Gabor and omg it scratches so bad I can't stand them. I tried cutting the JR and its worse. You would think the wig manufacturers would know this and so something about it. I will get back to you if this works. Thank you so much :)

Tandibee123: This is so helpful, I literally stopped wearing lace fronts because of this problem. I will dig out my pile of wigs and try this out. It is so annoying that the manufacturers don't care enough to use a softer and better quality lace. Many thanks for sharing.

Jennifer Manning: I wish I would have found this 9 months ago! I have been wearing wigs due to chemo and this is a godsend. The lace drives me nuts. And I love that wig. Much nicer than my curly one .

KJ Traylor: Thank you soooo much, Leona! I just purchased my first wig due to severe hair loss from health problems. The lace front edges seemed very sharp and were irritating to my hairline. I dreaded wearing it each time. The information you have provided will certainly solve my problem! God Bless you! (Btw: great video)!

Petalisbless DIY: Good idea my dear...tfs :)

Paloma Cuevas: I made the mistake of buying my first lace front in hard lace and for years I never wore it. And now I’ll finally sew it and hopefully I get to use it finally! Thank you so much!

stephshe100: I tried this today for a beautiful wig I have but it has that hard lace, it worked perfectly! I used a weaving thread needle and regular thread on a straight unit and it looked perfect. Thanks sooo much!!

Naida Lynn: This is brilliant. THANK YOU!! Now I don’t have to avoid lace fronts like the plague!

mhalla55: Nice tip, thanks so much for letting us see this. I will use this on any new wigs I get. What I have has already been cut, but I will try to still do this on one just to see if I still can. Thanks!!!

Florence deBear: Thanks so much Desiree. I just started wearing wigs and HATE lacefronts for the very reasons you cite. This is a common sense solution. I wish I had known this before i cut off the lace.I wish there was some way to re-do it because the I don't want the irritation or damage to my hairline.

Cindy Alexius: Wow, why didn't I find you before I cut my lace of my wig?!!! Thank you a million for sharing. I'll definitely try this method on my next purchase. Blessings.

Toni Kats: Wow, what a great idea Thank you!

qtbeddecor: This will also save our hairline, and reinforce the lace to help prevent it from ripping, or fraying. Thanks so much!!!!!!

Heaven Love's Channel: Thanks Dez I have a new lace front coming. I'm going to try your method on it. Great job!!!!

Purplebutterfly: Thanks a million.  I gave up lace fronts because of the scratching and sores.  I lost my hairline because of them and now I'm growing it back again.  I will try this on one of my wigs I was going to throw away.

Never 2 late - Naturelle: Thank you for this. I have break outs of psoriasis when under stress, so this is fantastic. Thank you so now I can purchase the choice of hair pieces I like.

meilee44: OMG! Thank you so much for this vid! I could not find a vid that addressed this issue! In my search, I would end up with vids showing me how to make my lace front look more natural when that was not the problem. Around my ears that prickly lace would drive me crazy! But now I have a solution! Thanks, girl!

Kristie Jennings: This was a very creative way of repairing wigs. I have had a few synthetic wigs that was like that too. Thanks Dezi for showing us this trick.

Mindy M: Thank you so much for your video. I know it will help me so I can wear the human hair wig that I just bought. I am so glad I decided to search this subject because I thought my scalp was just too sensitive, but I see it is global. You are a God send. Thank you, thank you!

J Jones: Dezi, just saw your wonderful video on how to resolve the itchy, cutting lace fronts.  Never thought of sewing it down.  Will give it a try.  Thanks so very much.

flanmaryj: I found a very pretty middle part Outre wig at a local store. When I touched the oace, I was very nervous. I told the lady I needed to research how to yo make that edge safer for my sensitive scalp before I bought that wig. Thanks for making this video!

CeeCee Brown: Wow your method actually improved the hair line of that beauty and made it more natural looking

DoeEyedFaun: This was a great video. I wanted to try wearing wigs so I can change up my hair. I know nothing about wigs and how to make them wearable and look as real they can. I have found some wonderful information on YouTube thanks to all the WOC who are willing to share all their tips, tricks, advice. I didn't get the highest quality wig as my first one, but from what I have watched I think I can make it look good and it will be a nice stepping stone to better wigs in the future.

sugar b: Thanks, my sister, for the creative tips  Dezi very helpful not only did I use this tip I also did the steamer for bring my other units.

Casey Cherry: This is an amazing method! I have the beautif Bubble Wig that has a screen door as the Lace it's so hard! And this is a very good method to use. I do have a few questions/concerns tho. Won't the baby hairs at the edge lay weird? Will they stick up? And what if the Lace is already cut! Can you use this me to still?

Hutchinson MAC: I just started wearing wigs. Due to Health issues my hair just doesn't grow anymore and it is dry, frizzy and brittle. I started with the Full cap wigs then bought a couple lace front wigs and couldn't for the life of me fix the lace issue. I am trying this when I get home!!!!! Great Great tip!!!!! Thanks for saving my Wigs life LOL

katlady5000: I watched this video and thought that makes perfect sense why didn't I think if that. This is a wonderful solution thank you. I have a hard lace wig I wore once because it hurt to much to wear to work.

katlady5000: I watched this video and thought that makes perfect sense why didn't I think if that. This is a wonderful solution thank you. I have a hard lace wig I wore once because it hurt to much to wear to work.

Monebyrd: Wow sis! Very good idea! Thanks for sharing!

DiamondLife Cavalli: Well now Ms Dezi, why couldn't you have made this vid 2 weeks ago when I cut and destroyed my 1st lacefront, lol, TFS DollFace

Yvette Allen: Great job I am going to do this!!

CeeCee Brown: Wow your method actually improved the hair line of that beauty and made it more natural looking

tiffany38126: Lifesaver! Thank you

fyfloyd1: I wish I would've seen this sooner. I have a lace front that I could not wear because it was tearing my scalp up. I cut the lace back so close to the wig hairline hoping that it would help, but it didnt. Now, I don't think I have enough lace to fold over and do this. I'll have to pull that wig out and check. At least I'll know for next time.

Purplebutterfly: Very creative.♥

Its Tiffany J: thanks so much im doing this for now on

M MK: Can you just use wig/super glue to hold it down instead?

Grumpy Kitten 🐱 😡: great tip thank you. would this work on a full lace wig?

joenn jala: The manufactures that produce this stiff type of lace need to be forced to wear underwear made of this same type of material and I think they would get the message very quick.

Cass L: Excellent DIY! thx for sharing

retta1960: Thank you for sharing, I just cut a wig I just brought a couple of days ago...and oh boy did it irritate me to no end. I am going back and try this, it is kinda short, but I can't waste a wig.  I don't buy too many wigs any more because of the hard lace problem. That lace is the enemy...  :(

youaintneverlied: That's what's up. Thank you Desiree!

Bachi: THANK YOU SO MUCH GIRL

BJ with the most: Thank you so much for sharing this method with the world. something so simple i never thought about it. thx a million.

Beautylover: Great idea, never thought of this

sweetcheesepizza: Thanks for the tip , doll.

Bambi's BoredRoom: I was just wondering, couldn't I also do this with tape? I would have not thought to  turn the itchy stuff over. I'm a horrible sew, so I was wondering about lining it tape down with a slice of tape sandwiched between where you are sewing. My theory is that the adhesive will hold the area you are working together as well as possibly provide some adhesion to the hairline where I will be applying. Gonna try it next time. :) Thanks for the tip.

theColdestp: Yay, thanks.. The scratching has really turned me off from purchasing synthetic wigs.. But now... It's on, I just bought me one.

Ana Rocha: What can I do if I already cut the lace please help!!

Lady Amelia: Thank you very much!

Miribee: great tip! thanks:)!

Cassandra Jones: How can you do this with a pre cut lace front? :( I love the wig, but I already have sensitive skin so the lace causes me to hate wearing it. Please help

PunkRockSoulSister: Great idea my dear!

Regina Michelle: This was so helpful

Owen Artucilla: mam dezi, so short and simple but a lifetime sense to gain from it may god bless u and your pure heart to continue ur goodness of sharing ur ideas .....mabuhay po kayo owen from philippines

Bella Key: what if you've already removed the lace?

Jack Banks: Thanks so much this is great. And yes grown articulate women YouTube too. Thanks!!!!

Jack Banks: Quick question tho. Do you know what type of lace that is? I want to avoid those types of lace completely. Do most synthetic wigs come with that type of "lace"?

TheJazzie6: Yes!! I have them and stop buying them can not take it!!! "WOW"!! Dezi that a good Ideal you broad back my love for those wigs LOL!!

aDina7093: It would b helpful if the folks selling the wigs would add ur idea to the instructions. Great video!

Monica Bainum: I found the video to be extremely helpful.

Lind Cobbs: I will definitely give this a try. This is why I don't like lace front wigs. Not only was it hard and itchy but it started to unraveling before the wig got old and cause my already missing hairline to recede even more. Thank you so much.

Carlyne Sainphor: I just got my first wig and the beauty supply cut the lace for me and to see your video they cut it too low. Do you have any tips for that? It's a bob style.

Kata June: Great idea...!!!

ReneetrustsGod: Oh wow.. Thank you

Theresa M. aka 50Plus2013: IM GLAD IM NOT THE ONLY ONE FEELING ITCHY AND SCRATCHY LOL. HOW ARE YOUR DOING MY DEAR FRIEND?

SpringNoel10: What if you have already cut the lace off? Is there anything that can be done? I wish I had seen your video before I cut it. :-(
