One of the most common hair loss and damaged areas is around the front hairline. If this is your problem, this video is perfect for you. I'M gon na show you how to take an inexpensive lace, front, wig, deconstruct it and fix your problem. If a thinning hairline is your problem, you might already be aware that there are other commercially available options to you on the market. These tend to be expensive and they also tend to focus primarily in the front, but not necessarily around the sides. So we're going to take this inexpensive lace, front, wig and deconstruct it so that we have a replacement strip around our hairline. It'S easiest if we find a wig that has about half an inch of that lace front. So, as you can see, this frontal piece has about half an inch on the sides and it spans to about an inch in the front Center. So we're going to remove this entire piece and then we're going to show you how to apply it. So the first cut I'm going to make we're going to cut the front part of the lace off just into the hairline slightly the second we're going to cut the strip of lace off now. If we need it a little bit wider than we have here, we can always cut back a little bit further, but for this case I think we're just going to cut right up to the wig boning. So here we go on our first lace cut. I'M trying to leave as much of it intact as I can, but with them with cutting in just slightly below that first root line, I'm going to cut that all the way across being careful as you cut. But if you cut a little bit wonky, you can always go back and clean that up. Just make sure that you don't leave any snag parts, because you want to make sure that you're not able to tear that lace so try to make your cuts as smooth as possible. So our front lace has been removed and we're ready to make our second cut. Now the most important thing about this is everything that we want to not be cut off our wig. We kind of need to pull forward or use our fingers to kind of make a part line so that we don't cut the hair off as we cut. So for this, I'm going to cut right up this line right up to the boning on the wig and I'm using my fingers underneath to separate the hair from the front and the wig hair to the back before I cut. This is what it looks like on. The underneath side, if you can't get a real clean cut with your fingers, to part that off go ahead and use a comb so that you have a nice clean line to cut on take your time. You only need to get this right once so once you've got that hair where you want it, we've parted it up to here we're only going to cut up to here and then we're going to be really cautious as we move around and if there's ever any Room for error just make sure that you have more hair pulled forward than you have pushed back because we're trying to keep this lace intact. Okay, we've made our first cut so now we need to part it off again. So I'm just using my fingers and scooching it forward and separate it. I'M gon na flip and I want to do a little bit more of a clean separation, so just to make sure that I'm cutting in exactly the right spot. So I'm gon na use my comb and just part it off flip it back over. So I can see where I'm cutting this is that hair that I want to keep and if you are ever in question, just make sure that you flip it over and do it again again. I mean we only have to get from here all the way to the other corner, so just make sure you're doing it right. Take your time. Okay, so we've finished cutting our lace to the edge, and now we are going to pull the lace off of the wig okay. So that's our piece now, because you've cut you're gon na have a few extra hairs that just need to be kind of brushed out. So I'm just gon na run my fingers through it and remove any pieces that are loose because otherwise it will shed over your face and you don't want that okay, so this is our piece now. This wig had a little bit of extra lace at the edges. I'M gon na go ahead and cut those away once those have been removed, same thing pull out the hairs, and then you basically have a piece that is ready to use and I'll show you next. How to put that on. Another common question right now would be well what about that wig that you just cut apart? Well, you can still use it. You just use the wig and then, if you want to use the lace front, you can just put that right in front of the wig. So you didn't actually lose anything and you gain to grow out piece for transitioning away from your hair line issues. So now you're ready to use your piece, and I recommend installing these pieces with tape strips these - are a double-sided toupee tape or a wig tape or a hair extension tape. You'Re, just going to pull off one layer of tape and you're going to position it on to your front before you remove the second layer of your adhesive backing you're going to apply your side. The pieces that I have for the sides are a bit wider and they're actually a little too wide for my piece, so I'm going to cut them in half. So now, I'm just going to position that I'm gon na put the tape on the lowest part. I don't want to make sure there's no hairs in the way, because if you comb em, it might actually pull your piece in a direction that you don't expect. Also make sure that the tape that you're using is gentle enough to be used on hair lines. That are growing back. Okay, so with that in place, I'm gon na switch to the other side same thing. Make sure that our hairs are all out of the way. These tapes have the same amount of stick on each side, so it doesn't matter which side you put down first, so now, you're ready to pull all of the backing off and just leave the tape on your piece. Be careful not to pull it off with your fingers and again make sure you're not getting crosshairs overlapping your tape, so just be really careful and then you're gon na take a whole piece. Make sure that it's positioned, where you want it side-to-side and about the position that you want it in the front before you? Stick it down? Okay, so we're just making sure that that's where her hairline should be on that side and I'm gon na turn her so that I can make sure that that placement is correct. I think it should be back a little bit further. Don'T want to give her a hairy forehead and from there you just make sure that it's pressed down now. The way that you're gon na make this look really believable is now that it's all stuck down you're gon na take this hair and you're gon na brush. It into the natural hair now, obviously she doesn't have natural hair, but you can see how believable that hairline looks now and you can't see any of her damaged if you do end up with loops or places that are coming up. You just add a little bit more tape and you're all set so with it all brushed back. You can see she has an incredibly believable hairline, so it was fixed in an instant I'm gon na put the rest of her hair on and you can see the finished. Look. Here'S our finished. Look. The hairline has been completely filled in and we've used tape. That'S gentle enough to let your own natural hair fill in and grow. You can also use this method to add hair lines to any of your other wigs thanks for watching and if you liked this video make sure that you subscribe to our channel so that you never miss a beat. Cassandra Bee: Thank you so much for your videos! I have been struggling with trichotillomania for 15+ years and have lost my front hairline. I've been looking for a solution since I don't have any leave out anymore and this is perfect :) What do you use to remove the tape and not pull more hair out? Lots of love and light to you :)

Anthony Camacho: I have just stumbled upon your videos and i want to say that you're absolutely awesome! I used to work for disney styling the character wigs and you are so much fun to watch and so informative on various issues.love it.

Kathryn Castanares: you are definitely my most favorite youtuber to watch! I was wondering, if you're too scared to wear an adhesive, would it work to attach a clear line or some type of band? I've seen women put an elastic band in their wigs to make the lace front lay flat and secure and I was wondering if it would work for this? and if so, what way would you recommend?

Wendy Murray: Thank you so much for this video! Been following for a while for your dreadlock videos, but have been looking for info on how to disguise mum's hairline hair loss (thyroid issues) had a look at a few then thought I'd see if you had any info. Should have come here first! Perfect for what I need to help her! Do you think it would be possible to construct the same type of thing by using the wefts from clip in hair and attaching to a fine lace, like wig lace? Thanks so much for everything, and very best wishes Wendy

wizard: This is SO GOOD. Thank you. I will try this. Would you ever consider doing the same thing but with hair that is a blonde/brown mix? I am wondering if it is easier to match and blend dark brown hair because the light absorbs any “mistakes”...

Vanessa Shaw: Excellent! Thought about this but wasn't quite sure how to go about it. Thanks!

Reachersmom: Thank you. Will be loosing hair from chemo and wanted to learn how to soften the look for caps. Awesome

Candy Smith: FINALLY someone addresses front and side hair loss solutions. I loved this video! Question though...I have blonde hair and it's hard to match up compared to dark hair. You don't recommend a real hair wig for this? you can color it then and style/curl to blend in with your own hair. I would think a synthetic wig would look like a completely different texture/shine than your real hair. Thoughts?

Michelle Robinson: Awesome you did a great job first I ever see someone do this

My Makeup Tackle Box: This is exactly what I need.

Caliekat15: Where do you recommend buying the wigs? Also the loose hair for knotting your own eyelashes? Anyone have any recommendations? I'm completely new to this but want to help my Sister feel like she did at 29 learning as much as I can! Thank you!

Leslie Hampton: l love all off your videos you helped me out a lot thank you so much.

UJ00UJ: Helpful video

Ricky Henry: Any recommendations for a male wig to do the same trick?

hope full: Love this

Vyra Matthes: I wish these were just sold just the way you made this. I've been self conscious about my hairline my whole life...

Marie Bernier: I really need to see what you're teaching but the view is so far away that I can't use it. Please consider making another one that's very close up, white background. Thanks.

LEKXION .A: Hi do you guys also sell just the hairline piece?

Ashley Heaton: would a lace front be able to mix in with you own hair , say if my problem is only my hairline is to far high could i add a frontal to mix in with my own hair

Kathryn Castanares: Please help!! This was soo helpful back when i was losing my hair. It has grown back since then, but i still like to wear my wigs. However, when i do, they seem to thin out my hair every time and now i have a bunch of little "baby hairs" or short hairs around my hairline from my hair growing back after the wearing the wig. I have done everything i could think of to prevent it from happening and even bought that special hair band wig grip thing thats supposed to keep the wig from doing that. but now i HAVE to wear the wigs in order to hide the thinning once again and to keep those annoying short hairs out of my face. i hope you or someone could please give me some advice. i am so sad to have my hair thinning again right after i just got it back. but i still want to be able to wear my wigs to now cover my hairline and also when i actually want to just because.

vanessa shaw: Did you add the tape more to the “front” or “back” or was it the “middle” part of this new hairline

Esther Sowell: You are so talented oh my

Judy Bielik: Help!!!! I had a dread wig made but it has bangs and no strip for tape or glue!! It's front heavy and I need to tape or glue it. Can I do that if there is no strip there? Just material. Help!
