How To Secure A Lace Front Wig With Got 2B Glued | Easy Drag Tutorials | Jaymes Mansfield

Hey kittens, in this week's video I show you a cool trick I learned to secure down wigs to your head. This works for both every day and costuming. And all you need is some supplies from your local store. Bare in mind this method works best if you don’t plan on changing your wig.

#JAYMESMANSFIELD #GOT2BGLUED #LACEFRONTWIG

Hi everybody now I know I'm coming at you look like a splash between Manning my way and Trisha Paytas gotten like a genetic engineering accident, but I swear to you. I have a great tip. I'M going to share with you today. Today is a tutorial on how to glue down your wigs using got to be glue now. Normally, I use spirit gum and my one problem with spirit gum is after a while, it starts to create build up in your wigs. If you don't clean it all the time and honestly, sometimes you forget your spirit gum, but you just don't feel like scrubbing it with a toothbrush for hours and hours on it yep. This is a nice cleaner method on how to apply your lace. Wigs, that's also gon na stick to your head for a very long period of time. Unless not the stuff you're gon na need first things. First you're going to need some got to be glue gel you can use the black one or the yellow one. I recommend a yell because that's the one I've tried as well as got to be glue hairspray, which you probably already have so scissors and a wig cap. Let'S get this tutorial starting grow, let us remove our wig cap from its packaging. They usually give you two. If you're lucky, if they give you one well, you just weren't that lucky, I guess now. For the most part, this is kind of optional, but if you wear wigs that have hard parts in them or you want them to match your scalp down or look like it's growing out your head more naturally, a wig cap is a good option, but for a Big style Dragway, it's kind of just an extra step. You don't really need to take, but I'm just showing you guys how to do it, pull it over your ears and this may be a little uncomfortable. But I swear to you: we're gon na cut around it. Get more comfortable as we progressed now, you want to little you're brought to rob a bit and you want to make sure it's covering down. Follow the edge here here, a little bit past. It cuz! You don't want to get your like actual hair into it. Might pull it out? You don't wan na make yourself fall faster unless of course, you're a bald Queen, which you know you not to worry about that. Guy next step, we're going to take the got speed, glue, gel we're gon na take a good amount of this and be wary. This stuff gets very, very sticky and very very tacky good way to place that around our whole life, and since I am a lady with a more delicate one might say, masculine hairline, I'm going a little lower. Just you know to soften up my edges. So you don't see you know my actual hairline, that's a bit masculine, like I mentioned before. Let'S not talk about anyway, oh and if I got to mention it before you're gon na need a hair dryer to you. I'M sure you have one of those all right and I'm just going to tap this on around the hairline. Getting good amounts of it, and what I like about this method is her. Infancy are traveling and you forget your spirit, gum spirit. Gum can oftentimes be really hard to track down depending what cities and stuff you visit or costume shops, often have very the hours at the time of day they're open, and you probably can't get your hands on anything. So you can get this stuff wait. Chief of the spirit gum, and it works just as well. It made a believer out of these because many of times I have been in city where I couldn't do my wigs down, because I didn't have spirit, come with me or believe it or not. It spills in my suitcase so the TSA going through my makeup - is I've ruined lots of makeup with that too? Okay, not to dry it, I'm gon na go over with a blow-dryer and make sure it's on the cool setting. Okay, it is dried, clear down to my head: it is nice and dry. I do it for about ten minutes with a blow dryer on the cool setting. Now, when you do this, bear in mind that this method is used by girls to keep wigs on for days at a time but for us drag queens are all I got beyond our hair for a few hours. So I don't really need to be on for days at a time. So if you want to remove it, what you do is get some warm water on a washcloth and dab it and just take your time and slowly peel it up and just be sure to wash the area thoroughly with a makeup wipe that we don't get any Acne or anything now we're going to start the next step. Now I got the PSA part over we're going to take our scissors and we're going to cut around the wig cap almost like we're doing surgery. Then, if you find that you glued it down a little too low on your head, that's perfectly fine. What you can do is it go over it with more glue and just cut it a little shorter. I mean if you find it and cut it a little too low on your forehead. What you do is you just cut it up and just go over it again with the glue and dry it again down your skin and careful around your ear, but upward like that and tuck it behind your ear on the excess I just pulled behind and tuck It under and be sure to turn away any excess stuff. We'Re gon na go back over these little edges, so they don't roll up. Like you see right here, step taking more of our blue. Now I'm going around the edges where I cut they don't roll up again, all right, we're gon na dry. It again you've been really cutting it down with the end of a brush or end of a comb. I use the end of a makeup brush. Thank You. Blend party all right now comes the final layer of Glin. We'Re gon na do is we're going to take a little bit of it and go over a little bit underneath the section that we glued down, you can catch a little bit of your skin with it. We don't need a terrible amount of it, because it's already got a lot of limbs here, and it should be a little trashy from before and for this step, we're only going to have dry it, because this is the layer that glues the hair down, and we Want the glue to be tacky, I keep saying glue gel it's your job, alright! Now we're going to dry it halfway and go over with the hairspray as well. All right now, it's time to put our wig on the wig glue has gotten tacky from the drying. So we're gon na take our wig, I'm using this girl here and we're gon na put the hair off and we do it the front the side press the front down and then work your way down with the side to having your fingers off and the way I put it on, I put the lace underneath the wig cap, so it's touching my skin in that little area where you put the glue within the wig cap net if that little bit of skin, where it met and that's where lates of touching and your fingers May be sticky from doing this, so use the back of the book brush dry, something to flatten the wig down. I feel like the wig is secure, so I'm going to go through it, the hairdryer on the cool setting and dry it down further. So if you find you have excess on your skin, what you do is you take a q-tip with some warm water and just slowly scrubbed out of the way of it, one more look like they're dabbing it because you don't want to take off and you makeup The makeup off, unless you're doing this before you put your makeup bondage. Okay, put me up to you and just be careful, because you also use warm water to remove this from your head as well. So just know that you're playing with fire in this case you're playing with water and I'm just going to go over it one more time to dry it just to give it that extra layer of security and to make sure it's completely dry. All right - and this is the way, freshly glued down and dry. What do you think? I think the hairline is pretty sickening. If you ask me, I really wish I knew this trick back when I filmed the promo shoot, because my hairline in that photo, but looking back at it, I look sickening and I'm still sickening now, so I guess you live and you learn now. This trick is super super simple and, like I said before, if you're in a thick, so you can't find spirit gum. This is a really cheap alternative because I'm sure there's a Rite Aid or Walgreens or whatever drugstores Dublin and your area should be around there and caring, well fees either, and the only reason I prefer this to spirit gum is because, honestly, with spirit gum, it starts To clump up, and especially over time you starting to see makeup clumps in it and becomes hard and hard to blend it down to your skin without having to clean it all the time - and I haven't experienced that with this yet plus it's way easier to clean. I have a wig just a little warm water and alcohol. Now, let's test this wig and see how secure she really is well, that seemed sexier in my mind. As you can see, it's stayed intact. Thank you guys so much for watching. My video don't forget to Like comment, subscribe and comment down below anything. You want me to do next. I can list me and don't forget. Matt Knarr: Jaymes oh my god, you are saving this generation of baby queens one by one. A true wig goddess <3

Miss Foxy: This is the best and most informative video I’ve found on how to glue down a wig tbh. Doesn’t matter if it’s drag or not, ya girls wig ain’t gonna get snatched today

Tricia C.: That was super helpful! I went to a couple of drag shows and did the got to be glue gel thing but my wig always started sliding off at the end of the night. I like how you glued the wig cap down first and you used hair spray too. Definitely going to try this the next time I wear a wig.

Fluffer Nickel: "Let's get this tutorial started broo"

Most hairsprays and gels out there are just crazy expensive. I guess I need to order some travel sizes for the gel. PS. You know of a reliable shoe out there for guys that are not overly high, like 3" but made for a wide foot? My toe box looks like a Neanderthal (LOL) so it's REALLY hard for me to find drag shoes and Payless Shoes are gone! I miss that place! XOXOXO

Brenda Kinney: Awesome tutorial! I am new to lace front wigs. my natural hair is very damaged and thin and I am going to try to start wearing wigs to grow my hair out! Thanks so much for this tutorial!

harusaurus: THANK YOU! i do cosplay sometimes and wigs slipping is such an annoying issue. i guess my wig caps tend to be too small for my already small head and my slippery hair poofing up doesn't help matters i've never known how to keep them secure. i will definitely do this next time! thank you jaymes!!

Thomas Williams: I was literally just wondering that!

Alliteration Animation: Thank you I got debit card happy on my synthetic wig cart

SANGRIASTYLE: I like this technique but as for me I have a small forehead and my hair line comes down lower and of course I don’t want my hairline any lower than my actual hairline so would I glue the cap to my hair? In theory it seems smart but I feel like over time my hair underneath especially since it’s the edges are gonna break off and stuff which I don’t want so is there like any other way to do this for people with lower hairlines
