So how do i repair a hole in my wig? I have a wig right here that, coincidentally, has a hole in it and I'm going to show you how to repair it. Now before we get into the actual repair, there's two different techniques that you can use. You can use the sewing with your ventilating technique, which is what I showed you in the previous video. If you haven't seen it be sure to go check it out. That technique is also in your training system, so be sure to check that out or you can use a needle and thread and just do a running stitch all the way around whatever you prefer. It doesn't matter to me just as long as it's neat, so here's the hole - and I put my finger through the hole, so you can see it and so what we need to do you do not need a wig block for this. What we need to do, you can use a wig buck if you want, but I'm not going to I'm going to place you're going to take a piece of lace and I'm going to put it up against my shirt. So you can see how small it is. Your lace needs to be cut bigger than your hole. Okay, now you're going to place the piece of lace over your hole and then we're going to use the stitching technique to go around the perimeter, and then we will turn it around, find the hole and ventilate. So let's get started you, so I just locked that first stitch in by doing a double knot. Now, for the rest of the time that I'm stitching, I'm just going to be using one side of the nylon thread and I'm just going to go for it not going to do a lot of talking, I'm just going to be doing some sewing you in the Theatre and film industry, this technique is used using they, they will repair wigs using hair because they don't want the possibility of this nylon thread being shining. I, although I've worked in the theater and actually not the theatre, but the film industry, if I were doing a repair and if it was in the back of the wig, I would still use the nylon thread only because it's not going to be shown in the Back and then what we're going to do next is ventilate over top of it, so it's going to disappear anyway. So, let's get back to it. Okay, so everything has been stitched around the outer perimeter. You want to finish this or close it by taking both strings, that you have pull them together, make a loop and come through with your needle you're, going to pull everything through. It'S like pulling two strands of hair through and then you're just going to make a thing: you're just going to make a regular double knot with both strands and pull all the way through and once you do that it's nice and tight you're going to cut away That excess, so here it is - and this is what it looks like once you're done now - this string - where is it? The string won't be here because you're going to cut that off, then what you're going to do is you're, going to turn it around to find your area that you've just repaired and you'll see now that it has lace, onin, there's the lace right there that we Just sewn in, and you can see my finger there and what you're going to do now is you're, just ventilate hair in that area and go through all the different layers of lace. It should be only two layers go through both of those layers when you ventilate and that's how you repair a hole. So what to remember when you're repairing is you can repair with a nylon thread or you can repair with hair, and this is just for a hole remember to go on the outer perimeter. You want to cut your square just a little bit bigger than what you done, the size of the hole and then you're going to turn it inside out and ventilate through both layers of lace and through the whole area, and it will look like it. Never even happened:
