Hey guys today, I'm bringing you another how-to video. I just got this wegg. This is the dare to be by Raquel Welch, and I love everything about it, except one thing, and that is that the ear tabs are too far back for my ears. So that means that instead of the ear tabs falling in front of my ear right here, where they should they're actually, following on top of my ear, I have adjusted the cap. There'S no extra room back here for me to make the cap smaller. It'S literally just a placement of your tabs and my abnormally shaved head. So when that happens, the only thing that I have personally found that you can do to fix that just to cut those suckers off. Do this with extreme caution. Obviously, something like this will avoid any type of return that you might want to do on the wig. Obviously you start cutting things off of it. I doubt they're gon na. Take it back, so please don't do that unless you are willing to possibly keep that piece. Of course you could sell it to a wig sister if you wanted, if they don't care about your tabs, but it is going to alter the piece significantly. I really really really love this wig and I don't want to sell it. I don't want to return it. I want to just fix it for me, so I'm gon na cut them off and I'm going to show you how okay. So when you cut off your tabs, you're gon na lose some hair because your tabs have hairs sewn into them. So you need to be very careful about where you cut and know exactly how much hair you're going to lose. Also pay attention to your own bio hair if you do still have bio hair, because if you were to put your hair behind your ear, this would show if you still have bio hair. So these are all just things you need to know going in. I'M going to lose approximately this much hair. This is what's attached to the ear tab itself right where I'm gon na cut and I'm okay with losing that much hair, but just just know, going in hair will come off. You'Re gon na see a little bit of shedding because you're doing this so make sure that you're very careful and you try to pull as much hair out of the way as possible. So I'm gon na go ahead and pivot my camera down, so you guys can see what I'm doing so. I have the hair sectioned off when you cut your ear tabs you're going to want to run along this seam right here. So here's your adjusters this, where your adjuster start you're gon na, want to just create another invisible line and that's where you're gon na want to cut across. So I'm just wanting to cut off all of this, like triangle section here also go ahead and grab yourself. A pair dropping stuff also grab yourself a pair of needle nose pliers as well, just because, if they are adjustable ear, tabs you're going to see some metal in there so make sure that your scissors are good enough, that they will cut through metal. Just a little bit of a wire - and you should be fine with just these two tools: alright, so let's go ahead and get cutting I'll try to do all of this on camera, so you guys can see so here's the hair that I've sectioned off, I'm not Getting any additional hair in here, I'm just kidding what I know is attached to this section and start cutting. So here I just ran into that piece of wire that I knew I'd run into you just kind of cut through it and it'll go when you get to this section. You kind of need to just start veering up a little bit so that you don't cut into your lace and there we go so here. Is that your tab that I cut off - and that is what we are left with. So I'm going to go ahead and do the same thing on this side. Also, it really helps if your bio hair matches the routing as close as possible. This does have a routing to it. So I'm I'm good in that particular respect because, like I said your hair will show, I lost my rat tail comb, so um I'm having to use my angled brush for this to help break that hair right, just line it up cut through that copper wire there. There you go once you get to this point. Remember just angle: it up a little bit, so you don't cut into your lace. There is the second one. You know that wire we talked about. We have to get out or that's going to poke you. So the wire that you'll see will be three see. If I can get it or you can see it, it is right here. Well, I really wish you guys could see it. Okay, right there, one two three three little tiny wires right there. So what it is is one is a u-shape. This one on here creates a. U so that's really only one wire and then there's another wire in between at least my last wig was like that. So I just grabbed a hold of the needlenose pliers and I started yanking on it now you can really see them. Sometimes it helps to straighten out the other one because again they are attached to each other. There is the middle one middle one comes out pretty easy all by itself. There we go. So that's how big the u-shaped one is. So this one's kind of hard to remove so just tug, really hard and it'll come out and now there's no more of that metal in there. That would scratch you. Let'S get the other side out there. We go just grab ahold of it and start that one came out easy and just start pulling. I don't think that one didn't have the extra one. It was just that one. So that's good all right! Let me meet you back up top okay. So now we've done that I'm gon na take my wet brush and just run my brush through it to try and get any of the little hairs that inevitably are going to shed because of what I just did, and it's not really a lot. That'S about it. Just obviously, maybe ten hairs should on that just keep pulling yeah, I'm not really getting anything all right time to put it on now, when you cut your tabs off a wig, you have now lost your grip to be able to adjust it. So you just have to try to keep it straight where your your tabs used to be to help you keep it straight, but it should not affect how the overall wig fits you at all. It just takes that pressure off of your actual ear. So now this wig is a thousand times more comfortable for me, there's nothing pushing on my ears. That'S it! I take the glasses off. So, honestly, it's really difficult to tell where the routing, at least in my camera, maybe it'll, look different when I go back to edit it, but the routing is blending decently well with my actual bio hair. So if I were to put this behind my ears, I mean y'all, tell me: does that look bad or are we matching okay for ruining? I mean if it matches your bio hair completely and you still have some bio hair. That'S one of the most natural looks. You can get it kind of mimics, a topper that way, because you'll have an ear tab in front so y'all. Let me know in the comments whether or not you believe that that looks natural enough to get away with tucking it behind my ear, where it meets the routing. I think it's super cute. I'M glad I'm glad that I chose to keep it and just cut off the ear tabs um here's what I ended up with. That'S it. Okay, so hope you guys found that helpful. If you have any questions, please drop them below and I'll answer them just as soon as I possibly can. Until next time. Bye, bye, beautiful

Kierra Whaley: This is the only video ive found that has exactly what I was looking to do to my wig. Thank you

Alison Sheehan: Thank you so much for this video! I have used your instructions to give eartabectomies to two of my wigs - a definite improvement! More comfortable, I can put my hair behind my ears now, and my glasses earpieces fit better.

Bren13: What a great idea for a tutorial - I've never seen this done on video or even discussed. Thanks for the education :)

Pam Avery: This is exactly what I need to do for my exact same wig. I have a big head and a 14 inch ear to ear and this wig is still too large ear to ear. I have been scratching my head trying to decide what to do to it. This is it! thank you so much.

Regg Valencia: I do a “man bun” with wigs and this is a TOTAL game changer as my wigs lay so much better on my head now so a big THANK YOU!!

Katie Braun: I could have used this video about 2 weeks ago, lol! I did this with an old wig just to see how it would work. It made it so much more comfortable to wear with glasses. I don’t get that pressure from the ear tabs any more. Looks great! (I want this wig so badly, too!)

Wiggin' With Christi: Love this! And love the rooting on this too! Looks natural!!

Rebekah: Looks fantastic!!! Have wondered about doing this as I have a huge prob with this in all my wigs but never came across any info on it til this vid. Now you've taken the brave first cuts that show me it can be done & work so well I am about to go do it right now. Thanks so much! ꘏⚞^・ェ・^⚟꘏

Annie Girvan: Thank you for this video. I had to do this with one of my wigs today for the same reason.

Meko’s Message: That pink looks really pretty on you. I’m slowly stepping out of my box. I’m not bold enough to wear pink just yet though. Great job! TFS❤️

Clara: Wow thanks for this video I didn't know I could do this! Would this make a tight wig feel bigger or looser?

Ann74 Alston: Thank you. It worked great.

Virus1956: Excellent Job, THANKS!

jayandess: I'm never quite sure where the ear tabs are supposed to lie! They're a pain in the proverbial - even moreso if you wear specs. Not sure I'm brave enough to cut them off an expensive wig though. One good reason to have a wig fitted in a salon I suppose.

𝓡𝓸𝓲-𝓡𝓸𝓲🌹: The pink wig really suits your look!

Shug: I say this with all love and zero hate, I love seeing white women embracing wigs! I hope that we can normalize wearing wigs ☺️

Toni Kats: Wow, how’d I miss this video? Thank you.

Sharon Martin-Fertig: Looks gorgeous on you!

Brenda Daniel: You did a great job.. thanks

mini purple trees: Looks brilliant! Just one question, is that wig long enough to be tied back? Or os it too short to wear in a pony tail?

Bored Weegie: I got a lace front one other day and there are metal tabs..never had them in any lace front wigs before...no need for them on lace fronts..been wondering what to do..it cuts into my ears.Great vid

jackie andonatos: Roots definitely match. Looks perfect. I was wondering if I can cut a portion of my ear tabs off. My Belltress wig is not sitting right because of the ear tabs.

Angela Hoyle: Looks great thank you

Romans 8:28: Looks wonderful

Bonnie Baker: Heck yeah that looks natural with your bio hair! Thanks for another great video!

Tina XIII: it looks so cute and well done doesn't look cheep or anything thanks for sharing that i really am struggling with mine and perhaps u can use what's left as little extensions or to fix wig later if something happened to it? idk just an idea haha keep it up! ^^

Carmen Briones: Thanks for all that you do!!. I was looking to where to purchase that wig..

Jeannie H: Your hair does match the rooting. Very natural Trista.

Lexsee C: love the color on that wig!!

m gray: Looks great, would never guess it's a wig

Deez Nailz 2020: You look Fabulous in that wig! ❤️

MkLittle: =Perfect= Match! Rooting looks great!

Angela Ridley: Good job, all hair matching!

Marlene Olson: Will this work for a wig that is too large? I bought 2 wigs on eBay and they are both great! One fits perfect (avg) but the other one is too big (large). I can still wear it, I’ll just use extra clips and pins. I must have weird shaped ears too because I have a problem with ear tabs on all wigs - I end up tucking the ear tab behind my ear since I like to tuck some hair behind my ear. Not very comfortable. Both wigs are short, too.

Jody Ann Campbell: This is what I was looking for yeaaaa thanks alot

Vicky White: Looks great.

Yvonne Ellis: Thank you because the tabs are problem for me to.Good video you taught me how to do this

Lina Rosales: i think u look really pretty and ur bio hair and wig mesh perfectly. thank u for this video. its like one of only a few on how to remove ear tabs (and by far the easiest and best). my wig now loves u bc u saved it from the trash can. thanx again.

C J: Totally matches!!!

Maureen Christine: Trista, how do you keep the wig on then w/out ear tabs? (Wig tape? It stays?). also could you only have cut off say half of the eartab?

Naturally Modd: You just saved me Thanks so much

jesikahayley: Thank you for the video. Can you please tell what the wig is called and where I can buy it?

Wanda Farrington: Still watching and the way it looks fantastic you look great bye

Marvette Green: Looking good!

A Choden: I have an "older" wig in which the adjustable ear tabs are so stretched out that I have to keep adjusting the wig during the day. I also wear glasses. If I cut off the adjustable ear tabs, how will I be able to keep my wig from slipping down on my forehead? I am not able to make the wig smaller. (My wig is already a petite size.)

Nikki L: I have a wig that is a similar style. The ear tabs are placed correctly, they are in front of my ears. But when I am wearing the wig, you can still see some of my hair that's in front of my ear. Is there a way to solve this?

Kaylion: The root matching couldnt be any more perfect

Iced Cσffєє ღ: You look great in this hair color and style

Dee Kay: Trista - Great job! What kind of pink wig was that - brand/style name?

Jeannie Cawley: Perfect

Thick Bella: Will this method work for human hair lace front wigs too?

Emma lou: The part of my wig that goes over my ears is lace do I trim the lace?

Shabana Felix: Where do you buy the wigs from?

Sherry Gaillard: Will this work on short wigs?

Amulya Dance: Do you have a video on how to adjust an ear to ear lace wig where the lace falls in the right in perfect place before the ear, but the rest of the wig sits halfway over the ear? I need to cut out ear shaped parts but the adjustable strap is right in those spots! I don’t want to loose the lace in front of my ears.

Shasta Moon: Your rooting matches 100%!

Lois Ann Arter: Super super cute!

Vanessa Allen: I think it looks natural

Art with Mama Fairybread: This is the absolute best colour on you…..

CrimsЯus Kid: Lifesaver

Kymyada Durr: I love that that u did it with out a mannequin cause I don't have one an I'm dealing with a wig that like this but a differ color

lussorio fele: I immediately came to this conclusion sunce my first wig..! However this video is often un-centered! The action you are doing on the wig cannot be seen properly..can you redo it..? Thanks.

Dawn Chiaravalli: If I try this on my wig, my Mother will wack me!

Lidea Barker: Ok, good tutorial but it's difficult to see since you are too far from the camera and not even in the right place.

Lisa Garcia: Seriously pretty wedding ring set.

WhammyWhammy: The pink one is pretty on you.

maddy kalell: Wondering about ear tabs that are made of silicone and If they can be trimmed. This video is exactly what I’m looking for although the construction of the wig is different and called a “comfort cap” so it’s like a silicone material I’m scared to cut it lol. My piece is final sale anyway but she’s a gorgeous hand tied human hair and I don’t want to ruin her. My bio hair does match underneath but I’ve never owned a wig and mine sits over my ears exactly like yours.

Betty Moreno: Not the best angle to see!

Julie Mann: Trista--I don't like the stays around the ears & nape. Are they necessary or can I put silicone tape over them? Thanks.
