Wearing A Lace Front Wig For Beginners: Go Blonde In 5 Min

In this video, I share some of my tips and tricks for how to wear a wig for beginners. I’m still trying new things and learning every time I wear a wig, but I wanted to share a bit of my hair journey with anyone else who may have felt bored and boxed in with their hairstyle. My motto is that variety is the spice of life, and a new, fresh look being this easy to attain has been a source of joy and confidence for me.

If you’ve ever thought about changing your hairstyle, but been too afraid of the cost, commitment, and damage to your natural hair, you should consider wearing wigs! Even when I felt that my hair must look fake to others, I’ve been surprised to find that many people have been convinced that I actually changed my real hair! If you end up trying a wig here are some of my tips and tricks based on my experience and watching other wig tutorials.

Quick Tips:

1.) Try your wig on first!

2.) Cut your lace in a wavy pattern.

3.) Comb the baby hairs

4.) Conceal your part

5.) Be open-minded

Hi, my name is sarah, i'm a team member here at united beauty supply and today we're going to go over wearing wigs for beginners. Now, if you're anything like me, you wish you could change your hairstyle as often as you change your shoes, but that's just unrealistic. Going to the salon that often is so damaging on your hair, so expensive and committing to a hairstyle like that can be really scary. If you don't know how it's going to look on you now, i'm pretty new to wearing wigs, but it's been a really fun journey for me to show different sides of myself. It'S really a lot more affordable than i thought it was before we have wigs in every sort of price range. Even our synthetic wigs look really really natural. I worry that it would be really hard to put on that. It took a lot of different products that i needed tools that i needed to buy a whole lot of stuff, but honestly wearing a wig is super easy. So if you want to learn and see how i go from this brunette to a blonde bombshell in about five minutes, then stick around for this video. So today i want to show you how you can easily change your hairstyle by wearing wigs with little commitment with no damage to your hair and it can be really affordable and look really natural while wearing a wig. Today, i'm going to go from this beautiful brunette to a blonde bombshell in about five minutes with this darina wig from bobby boss, it's in a color 613a, if you're a first time, wig wearer i'll kind of give a little tour of the wig when you first Receive it it'll be in a little package like this, and you just want to slide it right out. It comes with a tag, so you can remember which one you got the name and the the style and color all of our wigs here come in a huge variety of colors, so you could try any color you've ever dreamed of here's. What this one looks like and you're just going to remove all the padding now i'll give a quick tour of what the inside and what the wig is kind of made of the different parts right here you can see the lace front. That part is what helps it look more natural against your skin. You can leave more lace if you're going to be gluing your wig down, but for an easy date night or one day wear then you probably want to cut most of the lace off. At least that's what i do on the inside here: there's some clips i'll go ahead and turn the whole cap inside out. So you can see what it looks like inside. These clips are going to clip into your hair and they're, going to help your wig to stay in place. This band down here, there's an adjustable band. Every wig is one size fits all, but you can adjust it slightly with this band down here. You'Ll just clip it into a different loop to make it a slightly tighter or looser fit, depending on what you need now before we before we get started. I do like to try my wigs on so first i need to braid my hair, so let's get into how to put your wig on i've already pre-braided, my hair. I just do two french braids right down the sides. That'S the way that my hair lays down the easiest. You want to make sure that the front is going to lay down super flat. You can use a little bit of gel like this one to make your hair lay nice and flat and slick if you need to today, though, we're going to be wearing a wig cap. I don't always wear these, but i am going to wear one today and this is the annie, miss remy, wig cap super affordable and that's going to help our hair to lay down even flatter and we're going to go ahead. And my first step that i like to do is to try the wig on and see where it fits and how it lays on my head. So i can i like to feel around for where there's any gaps, meaning there's space in between the wig cap and my head and there's usually a little space back here for me. So i like to try to put roll up my braids and put them right on that spot in the back of my head over here, and you can see that the lace does not match my skin tone. I'M going to be cutting most of that lace off, but if you're keeping your lace to glue it down to make it match with your skin tone, you can use a tinted lace. Spray like this one and you'll spray, the lace and it'll match better. So you pick out your skin tone i'll also be using a little concealer in the part right here to help it look a little more natural. So now that i know where that's going to fit, my next step is to pin up my hair. So i went ahead and pinned up my braids off camera. I just rolled them up into little twists and pin them down as flat as i can get them, and now i'm going to go ahead and get my wig cap on. You want to stretch out your wig cap a decent amount because it'll be really tight. When you first get it, you just want to squish all your hair into it, make sure your hairs lay down really flat and then just barely pop your ears out scooch it back to the edge of your hairline and then the final step before putting your wig On is to cut the lace i like to cut pretty much all of my lace off, because i don't glue my wigs down. I cut up right up to the little baby hairs, but i try to keep as many baby hairs on as possible. So get your scissors and you want to cut in a slight waving pattern like this, not too terribly straight, because it won't look as natural, but you just want to start over at one ear, tab and start cutting nice and gently okay. Now that that lace is all cut off, you want to go ahead and try your wig on one more time to see uh if you need to cut any more or anything else. So the way you want to put your wig on is by holding the back right here and diving in head. First, so hold the back forehead in first and then flip it all forward. You want to grab the back make sure all your hair is in. There make sure the back comes in the back of your head, grab the side, tabs and side clips, and now i'm a blonde. That was super easy. The last thing i would do is put a little bit of concealer or again that tinted lace spray right here in my part line, and then i do like to typically comb my baby hairs from my wig a little bit and there you go so that was Super quick and easy to put this wig on.
