Hey what's up, this is my first video on youtube and for those who do not know me, my name is cash rc, i'm a new york based drag queen, i'm originally from melbourne. Australia - and you know i like to think of myself as these self-titled human head. Queen of new york city, so it's my passion. I love makeup. I love human hair. Wigs i love wigs in general and dressing up, as you can see. So one thing that you should know about me is that i have only recently started my own human hair. Wig line called cash hair studio, and you know what i get a lot of questions from a lot of different people about wearing human hair wig. What the best way to wear a human hair wig is how to install them, and these are really important questions that i thought i could come on here with a video and to do with all of you. So without any further ado, let's get into my human hair fa, cues, okay. So the first question i have is really a question around what the difference between a synthetic wig and a human hair wig is - and i know that sounds obvious, but i get a lot of questions saying you know or a lot of people asking. Why should i be spending x amount of hundreds of dollars on a human hair wig? So what's what's really the difference, and really the difference is a few things. Human hair has just a different quality to the touch if you've tried a synthetic wig before it moves differently, it's heavier and it's also a little bit more difficult to style. Now the pros with a synthetic weight is that they are really hardy. Like you can sort of put them away, you can style them, you can leave them for a while and they'll always retain that shape. Human hair wigs are a little bit more delicate um. I wouldn't say that they're fragile, but they certainly need a little bit more love because they are made from you know: human hair fibers that grow out of people's heads. So they're, not you know plastic, which is stretchy um, so human hair wigs give you that super natural look. As you can see this hairline, i mean what lace this isn't even glued on. This is just how the lace comes, uh, so yeah, that's a little bit of difference between the two with human hair, wigs. I have another question that a lot of people ask, which is: how can i style them? Can i style them with? What can i use hot tools because on synthetic wigs you cannot use traditional hot tools or you shouldn't use traditional hot tools on your synthetic wigs because they're made of plastic. So if you use a straightener or a curler or whatever crazy tool you have, they will melt the plastic, the plastic will be melted and you will not have a wig anymore or you have a wig, but i'm not sure you want to wear it, whereas with A human hair wig: you can do exactly what you do with your normal hair with a human hair wig, so you can cut it, you can take it to a hairdresser and cut it and i'm sure a lot of hairdressers or stylists. I don't know what you call them in the u.s, but a lot of these uh people will cut it for you uh. You know they are familiar with wigs, they know what's going on, so you can cut it, you can style it. You can color it. Let'S say you buy, you know this beautiful unit which will be on sale soon, um or maybe even now, when the video comes out. I think it's going out this week. So let's see what happens um. So let's say you buy this unit and you're like honey. I lived for my black pink fantasy for a little while you know. Do a leaper had me feeling this this vibe, but you know, let's just say in a couple of years time, uh or even whatever time you're like i just want to make it black. I just want to make it all black. I don't want the blunt anymore, you can dye it, you know, go in, get your favorite color dye and dye. It make the front pink and make the front black like pink or do whatever you want, like you can do it because it's real hair, it's human hair um. So that's uh! What was the question? Was the question around? Oh, what can you do with your human hair? Wigs, that's right, everything you can do with your normal hair. You can do okay, so another question i get asked a lot is around the installation process. Now, before i get into the installation process, i'm just going to show you the actual wig cap construction. So this is what you should expect in any human hair wig that you are purchasing, so a human hair wig will come with a front lace. Ours is a swiss lace which gives you a super, transparent, beautiful effect. It is transparent, color you can get them in transparent and medium brown. Typically um and some hair suppliers will do it in a range of colors, but all of ours are transparent. With a medium brown shade, you cannot lighten it uh, you can only darken it, so we start with transparent and if you want to darken the lace with a pound of foundation or with a cream concealer whatever you like, we can go through that in a different Video but uh that's really kind of the idea behind transparent lace, but all of this section here through there is what's called the frontal right and then inside of all of here is the wig cap, and these lines are where the tracks all of your individual tracks. I don't know if you're gon na see it i'll put them out. I can't show you right here, so this is where all your individual tracks gets sewn into the wig and then once they're all put in you know you kind of want them pretty close, so they can cover each other up with the hair and then once they're. All sewn in you just can't see the tracks anymore, and so then what we also have is we have a few hair clips. We have one two three in all of our wigs and as well as some of our wigs uh will come with a extra elastic band for that extra support. Now, what a lot of people will do is, you know not even glue it on they'll, cut the lace off and then just wear it as you would normally now i've already given it away that yes, this is not glued on, and this is absolutely what i Recommend, if you're, just looking for a daily style - and you just want to throw it on, take it out, do do the thing without too much investment. The next step is, you know, a whole board cap method, and then you know melting the lace and doing your baby hairs and doing that whole thing and that's great and i will have a video come up uh, hopefully one day, uh talking about that whole process, Because i do think that that is so, it's seamless right, but not everybody has to do that, but those are two kind of main ways that you can wear your wig on a daily basis. Now i've had other questions about sewing in the wig to your natural hair. You can do that sewing in the wig from the back into braids will create a more supportive style. It will not put as much pressure on the glue on the front of your wig, but it's really, you know a more advanced sewing technique and you'll need. You probably need someone to help you with that. If it's your first time, but if you like that style, absolutely do it, you don't need to, especially if you have this elastic band in here, it will really provide a lot more security for your wig, but in terms of installing it, it's really as simple as Cutting the lace off matching the transparent shade to your skin tone. I haven't done anything to it and it just looks like this and then putting it on either using glue, not using glue and then going about your day when you need to take it off. It'S very simple, so you can use a you know: ghost bond remover, a wig glue, remover and slowly dab at the edges with that remover and then slowly peel off the wig. The one thing i would say is that wigs and their lace is very delicate. You know it's made and sewn in a way, that's meant to look very fine and very thin. So once you, you know, start really getting aggressive with it. You'Re gon na wear away at that you know invisible, look, you're, gon na start, creating a little bit more material where there shouldn't be material and that's what's gon na happen. So that's a little tip on installation. You can really install it. However, you like, and these wigs are perfect, no matter which way you choose. You know i get a lot of questions around what color wig people should buy and i'm actually really flattered by this question, because you know y'all are trusting me to choose the color. That goes on your head and i know it's a daunting process because you have a few different colors of blonde. You can have a lot of different darker colors from jet black to natural black to all of the brown shades, so what color is gon na suit? Your face - and i think the best way to think about it is this - is one tip what color jewelry? Do you wear if you wear silver jewelry, a lot go for cool tones, because clearly that silver is a sort of a cool tone metal. So that's kind of what you want to be doing shy away from anything. That'S too warm and go on the ashy, which means gray and blue side of the spectrum, rather than anything too rich and warm and honey and brown. But if you wear a lot of gold um, then you're, probably like me in the summer who you know, has a bit more of an olive undertone or a bit more of a yellow undertone and then in that case, absolutely go for warmer shades and look. If you don't know dm me dm me get on my instagram, you know shoot me a message wherever you need to shoot me a message and ask me what color, you think, send me some photos and i'm happy to give you a guide. We probably already know, but sometimes you just want that little extra piece of confirmation and that you know sets the whole game. You know down for the count so dm me, and let me know that was actually not that many questions considering uh how much time this took, but i just didn't want to keep rambling. So i think that those were some of my most asked questions. Definitely most asked questions and i might do a part two in the future, but if you have anything, you want to ask me or you're wondering about what to do when you're wearing a human hair wig. Please let me know, please, like i said, jump into my chats and let me know, but thank you so much for joining and again thank you to everyone.
