Hi everyone, James Mansell, here, bring you yet another video now in space video, I'm gon na give you sort of a one-on-one as far as wig buying cows. I'M gon na go down the line up all sorts of ways you can buy from cheapest to the most expensive to give you sort of a guideline on shopping for hair. So without further ado, let's get started our first wig. Is your run-of-the-mill commercial Halloween party store wig. Now these wigs, you can find in any kind of commercially known Halloween party store, like party city costume shops, will usually have these. You can really tell these wigs apart because they have a very, very glossy nature and they had this really cheap netting inside of the cap. The cap is made of that's really cheap netting and often times there is like no hair sewed into it whatsoever. As you can see for the inside of the cap, there's like 1 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 tracks there and that's it. They normally range around $ 2 to $ 10. That'S probably the most should ever pay for a costume wig. And yes, these are probably the lowest of low when it comes to wigs. I don't recommend you buy them. Unless you really really really fix pros, they are very, very affordable, readily available cons. They tangle like crazy. It'S very very cheap fibers that make up the hair you'll, probably only get about 1 or 2 uses out of it, so they're really more con than they aren't pro and stepping up a bit more in the quality we are going to go to our next type Of way you can get, this is of course, another costume wig it's made for costuming and cosplaying. It is the cosplay wig. This one is a higher end, cosplay wig from our two wigs you can tell, because it has lots and lots of tracks that the quality is really improved. It has a full on wig cap, so you turn it inside out and you have tracks neatly sewn onto ribbon. This is your more conventional wig type. These wigs range about $ 12 at the cheapest to about $ 30, the most expensive, depending on the quality you want, and the style it is pros, are they're very, very portable and they're very readily available. Most of them are on Amazon, Prime and the one big con about cosplay wigs is it's very, very limiting the amount of styles you can get out of them. They usually come with very big bang pieces and side pieces. You have to cut around or style into your finished product. There is lots and lots of hair sewn into them usually, but it does tangle a lot faster too, because, depending on the quality, the less the wig cost, but more likely it is you're asking as many wears out of it. That is the cosplay wig. Now we're entering a brand-new section called the beauty section. These wigs are generally made for conventional use and everyday wear we're gon na start with the lowest on the tier of beauty. Wigs, the conventional beauty, shop, lace, front wig! You may have seen these before in a lot of wig shops. They carry these ones. This is really really old. These are actually what I used to wear back when I first started doing drag or a lot of these on RuPaul's Drag Race. I haven't bought a wig like this in a few years, but they are generally coming very, very long styles and lots of colors, that's a big Pro, but the cons start on the inside. Let me show you turn it inside out. I just see there's lots of Westing on here. It comes on a conventional, you know, wig cap with the ribbon and the track sewn onto it. You see the lace front here. The lace is very, very small on it. The sideburns usually end about right here. They don't cover all the way down where my hairline stops. That'S a huge con for me, as well as the lace always very, very deep, colored laces. So it's really really hard to blend in with you, unless you contour really really hard, not to mention the cheap quality of the hair, it tangles up so so fast, so you're not gon na get too many wears out of it, and you can't really revive it. I'Ve tried several times to revive these wigs and they do not have a long lifespan. They usually end up as ponytails or as bumps. These guys tend to range from about. I want to say $ 30 cheapest to about 45 to 50 dollars maximum price. You should not pay any more than that. I recommend you haggle with the lathe at selling. It is she trying to charge you any more than that. Our next wig is the full wig. Now these ones, you might assume it may be a little confusing for you in this world. That'S so used to lace fronts. This is a full wig, it has a bang built-in and it has a full cap. I'Ll show you the inside. They don't have a lace front on them, because I'll school you a little bit on how they work, see tracks sewn onto a ribbon, lots and lots of tracks ribbon cap and a full crown of hair wet it into the cap as well. These full wigs were actually really really popular than 1950s 60s and 70s they're worn by lot country singers. You can tell I got this in Louisville and from looks of style, you certainly can tell she is a powerful country mullet. This is actually made to be worn. All the way up towards your bangs, with your bangs hanging out and coat in to blend in with the wig using the front of your hairline to disguise the you could still use stayed. You have long hair. It'S just you have to make sure your hair color matches this way. That'S very old old-school method of wig, wearing fun, fun and next up on our Beauty. Wigs is what I'm sure all of you're familiar with. It is the run of the mill Amazon online available. Wig, if you have an Amazon Prime, I'm certain you've come across them. It is synthetic fibers, soft lace, that's how you can tell it's a higher quality wig flip it inside out no ribbon cap. A nice mesh cap with the track sewn in with the ribbon caps are more likely to get side. Piku, jan, you can see hair underneath if you don't wear a wig cap and what these ones are generally factory made. Usually synthetic fibers, the wig lace has come in a lot better quality because you can dye them. So it's a lot more versatile, not to mention they take the heat styling very, very well. The cons are with synthetic hair. These ones, they don't have a very terribly long lifespan and you have to really really take care of them. If you style them and the second, you tease a synthetic wig, it is ruined, that's the general rule of how hair works, but these ones are a little bit better because you can get it back to a workable or pliable style with steam treatments steaming it straight And, of course, restyling it you'll be able to do that for a few times. I want to say the maximum was probably about eight or nine times before the wig starts to break down, really look janky. Well, that is your conventional synthetic wig and, last but not least, is a human hair wig. This is a human hair wig. This one is, I believe, Brazilian hair in 613 got this off Amazon before I want to say about a hundred and eighty dollars which is fairly affordable. It'S a little more on the cheaper side. They usually run about three hundred to five hundred depending on length and hair density, but for a lace, front, wig, that's really really cheap. Now, what's good about these guys are, is that they last really really long. You have to do a lot more maintenance to them. So that is a con, so if you want to actually use a human hair wig, you got the style a lot more. You have to wash it out a lot more, because hairspray will break down the hair and will break the hair over time. If you just leave the wig dirty and don't clean, it show you the inside of the cap. This one is your traditional human hair lace, front wig. You see lots and lots of space here on the sides, as well as on the crown for parting space as well as they also give you some lays in the nape of the back of the neck as well. If you want to a ponytail - and this one, is your pretty typical Internet order, wig, where it has the mesh cap with the track so not, but on stage this one is absolutely fabulous. It floats this one I'm wearing currently is a human hair wig. I got Amazon dye so tracks into I paid about a hundred and ten dollars for this and for the tracks it was 65 so that rounds out to about 170 about what I paid for the other wig. That was also just as full. Now with Amazon wigs. They do come a little flatter than usual, so I do my usual heat setting treatments to it. You can't set this wig the same way. You would set a synthetic wig. It works just as well. I did make a video about this I'll link that down below. If you're curious, the quick breakdown of what we discussed, it goes from the lowest being the costume wigs. I guess the highest being your human hair, wigs, it all depends on what you want and what you're looking for now, if you're looking for a really really budget-friendly wick, I recommend always starting with a cosplay wig, because they're very inexpensive, and you can do a lot To them and get a really fun drag style out of it without spending a whole lot of money or breaking your bank. Now, if you want to upgrade yourself I'd say from the cosplay wig work, your way up to your commercial synthetic wig that you can get Amazon or any internet vendor that you trust, and it all boils down to one thing when it comes to hair. For me, whenever I buy a wig, the most important thing of where anything is, does it cover my sideburns? If it passes that test, I will make any wig work, no matter how thick, no matter, how many tracks, no matter, how much it costs. If it covers my sideburns, the wig works. If it doesn't, I can't use it. For instance, if I get a wig and it's too flat, I could always just use that the base of a ponytail, if it's too dense or too clumpy from tracks, that's gon na, be great to tease out to make a huge hairstyle out of, and it's too Full in the front and not as much in the back, then that's when you have to do a double stack: hey that kind of rhymed, it's all trial and error, and it's all experimenting, there's really no right or wrong way to use wigs. It'S just! No! Your budget and know what you're willing to work with and know when something's really not worth your money, now happy hunting for your first wig. If this is your very first weigh you're going to buy, I wish you all the best of luck in styling and haggling. random Channel: To any new drag queens out there or people just looking for cheap lace fronts I’d recommend wish, always read the reviews and weed through the bad ones and you can find some gems usually about £25-30.
