Oh hi, never here, if you follow me on Instagram or Twitter, you might have seen in the last few weeks a few pictures of some wigs I've been working on. One of them, especially a lot of you have commented on, was a purple one of Olympia's. That was a raggedy-ass mess to begin with when she first bought it. It was really tight, cooks, food curls and she just never really watched it or brushed it or take care of it, and it was like a matted mess. I might've got hold of it and revived it to shiny and silky glory. The way I managed to achieve this is by watching some YouTube tutorials, mainly to buy Arabia Felix and weekend at the Bobby Z, if you haven't heard of them I'll put an annotation somewhere linking to those. But a lot of you have been requesting to see a tutorial from myself, so I thought, whilst I'm probably not the most knowledgeable about this, I do think I've kind of got it down down and it might be fun to you guys to watch me. Do it. The way that I've chosen today, unfortunately, isn't really that raggedy, because ever since I've learned how to do this, I've gone through all of my hair and sorted it all out, but this one is looking a little bit matted. So whilst it might not be quite a dramatic transformation, the principles are still the same, and the method is still the same. Sit still worth take a look first things first before we do anything at all, you have to shampoo. Your hair cannot work with it when it's not lots of product build-up, hair spray wax anything that you want to put in there to style it. It needs to be nice and clean. So that's what I'm gon na do. First, so I had a shampooed and I've. Just roughly towered rider at this point, all we want to do is try and work out some of those really nasty tangles without fingers, don't go and brush it or came it yet because it would just make the tangles worse. I promise you going through with your fingers and just gently try to loosen up any knots or tangles. When you can more or less run your fingers through like this, then you can move on to using a brush or a comb. Now I'm just using that powder brush there, but you can use like a wide tooth comb if you like nothing's too fine, because again, that will just make the tables worth and you really want to just work on the bottom up. That'S pretty much good enough to start working with, I say again leaves and sectioning Clips to do this properly, and I, like this section kind of following where the hair is woven into the cap. We have a look at the base. You can see these horizontal lines and I like to use that as a guide for the sectioning, so I probably take it about 3, 2 or 3 rows at a time. I don't clip the rest of it out of the way before I forget, if you're using the lace front wig, it's very important to make sure you pin the lace at the front, because this heating and cooling process can really walk the lace and make a good Kind of bubbly, if you pin it nice and flat against the mannequin head, it was safe back against your head, but today I'm just using a skin top with some bounce. So I'm not going to worry about that. Well, I've done the secured with the elastic underneath. The neck right, when you have this section, you're, going to really make sure all the tangles are out now the most magic tool that you need for this process is a handheld steamer, I'm using this portable garment steamer by quest. I bought this on eBay, for maybe about 15 to 20. Pounds is not expensive at all, and all you do is fill it up with water after you put a kettle turn it on and wait for a few minutes for it to heat up. You just want to grab sort of manageable sections, so this here, I'm probably going to split in half it will take your powder brush, get it right at the base of the wig. This is just about ready. I can hear it bubbling. Is the steam coming out now, so we want to do its with the steamer just brush the hair, slowly and I'll. Maybe do it about once or twice on each section and right on to the next section, and you should start to see a change instantly. Let me just turn it up in between use that it's just smooths out any kind of frizz or tangles or knots. If there are any tiny little knots left in the hair prior to steaming, you will see them straight away artists, even because they kind of bunched together. So you have to turn the steamer up and really welcome through with a small comb, to try and get rid of them. Otherwise, they're gon na forever be there or they might just rip out. What you're looking for is nice smooth hair that will be wet because we're working with steam, but once it is dry, it's going to be perfectly smooth and shiny. So just do another section, so you guys can see. Now you don't want to go to company when you're steaming the hair, because you won't get it nice and smooth if you rush it. But again, if you go too slowly, you do risk damaging the hair. So you want a nice, consistent, steady speed and I would always came as smooth afterwards. Those are the way synthetic hair is made as it dries and cools it's going to keep the shape that it's in. So if you make sure it is nice and smooth and straight so that as the shape is going to hold when it's cool down and dry and then one last sometimes back to do as well is every few sections I'll just grab all of the hair that I'Ve done on to the powder brush and just steam it all together. Now, if you want to get the hair really sweet, I really recommend buying some kind of bristled brush. This is just a dressing out brush for sets, but it's real horsehair and it's a really good way at getting the hair very, very smooth. So you just want to continue on in that fashion until you've done the whole up ahead. When you get towards the top of the wave, you really want to think about your section in regards to what kind of parting you want to have. If you want to be able to have you have any kind of partying or you want to have a scrape back with some volume, I will just take it all back. Otherwise, you really want to think about whether parties in the land - and you want a section there accordingly, with my skin top, I really don't have a choice with the party. The party is pretty much Center is just off center, so I have to abide by that when you get to the fringe. You want to take the very very orange sections, because the hair is a lot shorter. You really want to get it nice and straight and it's a bit difficult to get a brush underneath. So what I do is, I will just steam it by itself without any brush on there at all and then with a cutting comb. I will just comb it out. You can see on here. This has got some real matted mess by the roots and I'm just gon na try and comb one of it up. So I'm just gon na steam like this, get it quite wet and then quickly just comb that - and you can see now where I'm coming at all of the time, was getting a nice and straight how I hacked look at this fringe. You see all the long bits coming out now, so I'm gon na have to go back over the pass. This isn't tidied up Malick's infinitely better if you guys can just see so what I'm going to do now is we're all these twisting bits are at the bottom, where I'm finally straightened it properly. I'M just gon na get my scissors down and tidy up the fridge quickly. That'S better! So I'm just gon na let down another very fine section and do the same again right. So it's the last section here, they're really just tidying up the shape of the bangs. Now as well having us write, it is a much better shape now now that everything is steamed and nice and smooth the best thing to do to really let her set in to this new shape. If the letter dragged naturally overnight, but if you have a hair drive with a cold setting, you should be able to get away with just blasting off very carefully and making sure you brushing it through each time. So that's what I'm really doing that are just to show you guys what she looks like when she's dry. So now finish China off, we can see. The finished result. Look at that. So that is how I revived all those wigs that I've been posted on Instagram. It'S all the same method and they didn't look that difficult because it wasn't that ratty to begin with, but the principles over suck. In the same, if a handheld steamer, the last bristle brush and a powder brush some good sectioning clear roller time in patience and you can get it looking just lovely and brand new again, I hope you guys enjoyed watching this video don't forget to subscribe to watch. rasaan2011: Absolutely loved this video Nova, awesome tutorial!

Bunny Obelenus: Thank you Nova. I have short hair, I tried a stupid short style and cut off my lovely long locks and now I'm suffering through the growing it back out process and was thinking about getting a nice wig but the care seemed much harder when others were explaining it. I think after watching this I might try one after all.

Brea Hazelton: You and Olympia inspire me so much as an aspiring drag queen <3

MAURIE20: i love to see more wig fix videos and styling them as well

applebritta: This is great! I bet it would work for doll hair too.

Sam: OMG that hair looked gorgeous!

K S: His hair looks great like this ! Think I prefer it to his 2020 combed forward and wavy look

K Diff: For super cheap halloween type costume wigs, I have wet a wash cloth, let dry until sightly damp then clamped that cloth between the chi and wig.. works on collars as well ;)

musickeeper: Oh. My. God. It's... Beautiful... Holy SHIT. Method was done really well. :)

Ben Ritchie McWrath: Great tutorial. Fabric softener works better than conditioner if it's not human hair. I worked with my adoptive mom Pat Field a long time. If we worked with mannequins, we have butt loads of fake hair. I'd restyle them and sell or give them to my kitty girls at the store. I use a professional steamer. (Pricey for sure) but worth every penny. Yours did the job so good on you love. A good thing to remember is to use only distilled water. Otherwise, the vents will get clogged. You'll have to vinegar the fuck out it to get rid of the mineral deposits. If one so desired, one could curl them as well. I'm not going to blather on about that. Bobby has tutorials on that. I really enjoy your tutorials Nova. It matters not what it may be. Your so sweet and generous of spirit. It's a pleasure to watch. All of my love always.

Kier: woooow, _magic..._ it seems like a very cathartic process too ^^

sean Steele: Good job can you recommend any good websites for wigs? ❤️

zzz: I looked up when you were using the steam cleaner and I died. I don't do drag/wigs whatever so that's the last thing I expected and it was hilarious. Okay, it was funnier IRL than in this comment. Okay fine, you had to be there...

ERIKA DOWDY: Good job. Alot people dont really take very good care of their wigs.

Marcus Reeves: Don't know why I'm fascinated by this as I have no hair, but I am!

Mamaz Anderson: This is so interesting. Didn't know you could do that.

Deez Nuts: You're like, my favorite YouTubers atm...

EasterTuesday: How do you fix wigs with curl or waves? Do you just put them back in after ?

Fin Weetman: I have a wig that’s just separated into rat tails idk how to fix it would this work for it?

mwana: I have a synthetic wig that had a full fringe. It was too long so I cut a bit off but now it refuses to stay bumped. The fringe falls flat on my forehead and I don't like it. I tried using hairspray and lightly straightening it into shape. I even left it on a mannequin with some crumpled paper underneath the bangs to help it set in place. Please do you have any ideas on how to fix this please? I'm this close to throwing it in the bin.

Koby Hastings: fuck, can we kai kai
