Hey everybody welcome back to Tavis my closet at wake studio. One today is another episode of dear Taz. I'Ve invited my audience to ask me some questions and, if I feel like that is a popular question, if it's gon na benefit a lot of people, I may just make a video about it. If you're interested in submitting a question, you can email me I'd, ask dear Taz at gmail.com ASX de AR ta z at gmail.com. So this is a very popular question that I've received a lot over the years. Maryann writes dear TAS. I think it's time for me to go gray. Where do I start a lot of you? When you get to a certain age, you might think it's more appropriate to be gray, or maybe your biological haircolor right now is gray and you're looking to transition back to that, there's no wrong reason to go gray again. I'Ve seen a lot of different. Ladies up into their late 70s, even that still really enjoy those rich, vibrant, wig colors. So no matter your reason for wanting to go gray, it could be just out of fun and fashion. It could be because you feel like it's more appropriate you're wanting to match your biological hair lots of different reasons, but how do you transition into that gray? Color? That'S kind of the big question! There'S a lot of Gray's out there. We'Re super lucky right now in these this modern wig world, that there are so many different Gray's available, different tones, different shades, different gradients, all very dynamic and realistic, looking whether you wear wigs or sport, your natural hair, what is your current color? So if you're a brunette, a brunettes are very easy to transition into Gray's. I think there's a lot of salt-and-pepper type of wigs out there. That could give you a nice believable gray transition we're lucky to have some of those salt-and-pepper options. The other thing you might want to consider is sticking with your current color, but adding in some very light. Maybe some white, like a platinum or a blonde or even a lighter shade of any kind, is going to help. You start that transition into a lighter, more gray, tone shade. So brunettes you have a lot of options out there. I think this grave would be amazing if you're transitioning from brunette to grey and it is called storm by John Renault. It'S a brand. It'S brand new in their Arctic collection, it's FS, 36:56. 60S. 4. So it's a combination of variable, Gray's, Silver's and then all of that is on a dark route because it does have a route it does imply. Then, to anybody. Looking on that, your natural color is a very dark brown, so I think this would be an amazing option if you just want to get used to seeing yourself in some gracious the colorless style by trestle or in the color dark amber highlight. So, as you can see, it's a medium auburn brown, but it has all of this ash thick ash blonde, highlighting all the way around the face. This will help you get used to seeing yourself with a little bit of a lighter tone around the face. It'S an a sheer tone. This also has a little bit of caramel a note to it some lighter amber, but for the most part you can really see some of these Asheville and highlights - and it's very easy to imagine that that may actually be gray coming in helping you make your transition To gray here, I'm wearing sweet talk like a war in the color toasted pecan, which is GL 1823. So it's considered maybe a dark ash blonde light ash brown and then it has a lot of at light ash blonde highlighting it almost looks platinum, so it gets kind of gets. You warmed up to some of those really light pieces around the face. Now, there's absolutely no gray in this color, but again every time I see it on. I always feel like this would be amazing transition, color going from brunette or blonde to a gray tone. Very ashy LOB's seemed to have a little easier transition into gray. You know blondes are typically lighter in tone than brunettes or Reds, so we can have a lot to work with a lot to play with in terms of transitioning more to a gray, shade and blondes seem to have a lot of different ashy options. That may not have gray in them, but that do provide that really a SH tone. Look that would make it easy to go from more, but blonde shape to a gray shape. So here I am wearing the editors pick and Raquel Welch in their brand new color iced latte macchiato, RL 1723 SS, a part of their new cool tones collection that came out last fall 2019. I love these colors like this, because it comes across very ashy in tone and when you have an ash color the absence of warmth and that color really does give the appearance that boy does she have some gray in that color. You just never know until you're. Really up close on it, so if you are a blonde and you are considering migrating towards gray, this would be a really nice transitional color for you to start with it's cool in tone, there's no gray in it, but it's very a she here is another great Color to consider, if you're looking from transitioning more into blond to gray - and that is to pick yourself an icy platinum color. So what I'm wearing here is aesthetic as winter in there colors silver sun, rt8 now silver scent rt8 is almost a pure platinum, but it has a wee little bit of a beige II highlight in it. It doesn't warm it up at all, but it does make it very dynamic, and this just appears in certain lighting conditions. It appears kind of gray, doesn't it so. This would not only train your eye to start seeing yourself in a gray tone, but also anybody who sees you right now is also it's gon na trim their eye as well, making that transition maybe a little easier now this particular one does have a dark root. On it, there are plenty of unrented Platinum's on the market, so if you're worried that the root might detract from the fact that you're starting to go all grey because it gives the appearance of the darker regrowth, there are plenty of unrooted Platinum's out there. What am i so, ok taz, but what, if you're a redhead? How do I transition from red to grey? I don't think it's as hard as what you might think. So, first of all, um, as you age, you might have been a brilliant fiery redhead with lots of Irish. It may be some very pale coppers in your hair when you were younger. If you were born, naturally with red hair and then it just gradually fades as you get older, the the Reds become a little more flat and they may appear a little more Brown than the brilliant Reds that they used to. So the Reds run the gamut. We can have anywhere from brilliant cherry Reds, deep Auburn and then, on the other hand, you can have some beautiful copper tones, all very bright, brilliant, dynamic and beautiful. Now, what I suggest that you do is start with your red, whatever red that you currently are wearing, whether it's your natural hair or a wig, and maybe gradual, get a little bit lighter, adding in some some highlights. This is a raquel lodges up stage, an iced pumpkin spice RL at 29, 33 SS. So it's truly a beautiful red, but in that you're going to see a lot of dusty cool tones, you know some ash blonde here and there and that just really sprinkles this. It makes it appear a little bit lighter a little bit more muted than say the red that you originally started with. So you can see that all the way around the face, some of that ash blonde highlighting kind of mixed in there. It'S almost believable that that would be a little bit of a sprinkling of gray, but again, a little bit more of a muted red, maybe interspersed with some platinum or some ash tone blonde might be the first step in migrating from red to grey. Let'S take a look, so I really want to throw this color in there as well, just because I have it here on hand if your red looking to transition into a gray shade, I think this would be another great choice of gradually lightening up your look. This is tres alors Mia in the color of the most HL. It'S a combination of some dark sand, sand medium auburn's, but has a ton a ton of ash blonde, highlighting almost a platinum. So again, it's lighter and brighter around the face and that will get you used to just looking at a little bit of a different, lighter color around the face and it'll. Also one of my family and friends to the fact that you're you're going lighter and eventually you might want to get into some gray because often times again, this ash blonde platinum look is a very icy Ashtyn color, almost great-looking, especially in in certain light. So now, if you want to have a little bit more fun on your journey from your current color to aggression, why not check out some of these new artic tone collections from John Renault here, I'm wearing the January style by John Renault in the new color flurry And that is a combination of some medium and light Silver's, and then it has a lot of what they call a plum color and all that is on a medium brown root. So it really comes across just really fun. I mean you can kind of tell that. It'S frosty and silvery, it's very intentional, but again just having some fun while you're looking at going from, let's say brunette to a grey shame or salt-and-pepper II looks like you added a little bit of fun fashion, color to your style. So again, I hope this was really helpful for you. If your goal was to go from your current color to more of a grey in a seamless, natural-looking transition. All of these Winx styles and colors are available at wig studio, one all of the links and discount codes are attached below in the description section. Take Control Beauty: Hi Taz in all my years doing wigs in the salon and looking at models in catalogs or even watching videos of wig wearers I have never seen anyone who could wear more styles and colors and look so good in all styles as you! If I was a jealous person I would be jealous Seriously these are amazing wigs on you! I am not ready for Grey yet , at 77, but maybe in a few years I'll change my mind ! This was a great video and I bet helped so many! Just love you Barb

Lyne Francoeur: This was a good video! I’ve been transitioning to grey since March and I love it! Have a beautiful day Taz!

Margaret Tassey: Thanks! Very helpful video. Love all your work on color.

Jean Jacobs: Oh, these are such great options Taz! I tried ordering some silvery white colors, but it is too much of a shock for me. These colors are so perfect for a smoother transition. Thank you Taz! Blessings!!

myozbubble: I don't think I have ever seen a woman look gorgeous in so many colors and so many styles! I love watching you make all these transformations!

Pride In Photos BEAUTY: Great review!!! I love the Iced Latte Macchiato!! Gorgeous!!! Hugs, xo Laurie

Susan Johnson: Hi, Taz! This is such a great video, so informative and helpful! Thank you! I went gray three years ago, at sixty five. I simply reached a place where I was ready to be done with the dye! Add six grandsons to the mix, and I was simply pleased to make the leap ☺️. I felt proud to transition, while enjoying great support from a youtube silver sister's channel! The administrator, a retired professional makeup artist carrying amazing credentials, has a teaching channel in honor of her late daughter. Like you, she is an absolute gem full of passion and a desire to help, assist other women! That said, I just want to convey how appreciative I am of all your experience, knowledge, understanding and encouragement! The hair thinning I am experiencing is a far more difficult road than going silver (S&P actually), no question! Finding you is absolutely a gift straight from God's hand! I am ever so grateful! Thank you a thousand times over for all of your work to benefit us! Sending lots of , Susan

AJ Row: Oh my...the red RW iced pumpkin spice is gorgeous on you, Taz! Great tips!❤️

Beautiful You Wig Reviews : Thanks so much for this! My bio hair, what’s come back that is, is very dark grey and white. I’ve been thinking about trying a grey, but don’t know where to start! This has been so helpful!

Miss Pethamhouse: Thanks Taz! That was such a well thought out video. Must have been a lot of work for you to pull together, but so insightful!! thanks!

Laurie Miller: You put so much into your videos Taz! Invaluable information that is much appreciated

Kimberly Guiseppe-Cooley: I've worn wigs for many many years, mostly out of laziness doing my own hair every morning for work and I can't stand looking the same!!! Depending on what I'm wearing I like to completely change my look. I wore them for so long all of a sudden I realized I had a couple inches of grey and decided to grow it out. Now I'm completely silver n have 7 silver grey wigs in different styles. I love them! No more dying, problem solved

Krista L: You are truly the "wig whisperer"! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!!!

Connie Feltman: Just my subject! I am going grey ... but I have had my hairdresser color and highlight! But my hair is thinning especially on top! Would just like to grow it out. You sure have help me a lot with your suggestions. My normal color was a light brown and had a few auburn highlights that showed more when I had a perm ... gave my ugly straight hair the curls I loved! But it is straight now! I know if I have it grow out and turn original grey ... I can get a perm sometimes and have a little body and curls! Then get more wigs! Lol I really want Storm! Love it! IT IS THE NEW PLATINUM! WHITES THE NEW BLONDES! Eventually if we all live long enough we will be white haired ... my Mother was ... passed away at 89. But her hair was a beautiful color! Thanks again! Have some more to watch ... behind!

Michele KT: Great transitional colors! Not for me yet but good to know. I am loving SilverSun. Gorgeous color!

TDGarden: Salt and pepper, yes. But as far as length, no. Very few gray wigs come in a longer length. So disappointing that wig companies think that just because we are gray, we need to stick to short hair. I like my gray hair and I like it shoulder length or a bit longer. Maybe someday they will acknowledge we exist.

7swordMary: My sister doesn't want me to go gray with my wigs. But during this pandemic year I grew out and trimmed off all my thin receded and dyed hair color and find I'm obsessed with viewing every gray wig review out there. I especially love the trendy new gray cuts n styles. Can we talk about Warm Cool Neutral in gray? I'm even becoming inured by the sofistication of new combinations of red violets, purples and lavenders some labels and independents are floating ❗

Connie Steve: Awesome!! Wonderful video full of all kinds of good ideas! Thank you so much❣

Sandra G. McAlister: Thanks Taz for this video. My mom's hair turned completely white when she was in her late 40s, she had beautiful hair. People who didn't know her thought she bleached her hair. But since this covid, i have decided to go grey, my hair isn't white, but it is a lighter grey. Love the color wigs that you showed, I'm also hoping to find some long toppers in those colors as well. Btw, you also look great in those red wigs, very pretty on you. Great video, Taz.

Alli Cat: I hate it when they root the greys...its like the opposite of how greys usually grow lol. I'm transitioning to grey at 43 and this transition is brutal, especially with super dark dyed hair

Belgium Girl: You look wonderful in all of them and I being a redhead, I love the red one on you!! But I’m still anxiously waiting for pixie season

Bea Long: Loved all the difference between the colors so I say I will just try them all!!! Thanks

Elizabeth Watson: Great and relevant review! Thanks so much, Taz.

C G: My natural hair color is somewhere between light brown and dark blonde. I started growing out my gray when I started wearing wigs a little over a year ago. I have wigs in most of these colors and like most of them. But the best colors I have found that match my newly gray hair color are TOB Silverstone (perfection), and JR Martini (runner up).

Resa: I love that Tressallure's Mia in Mimosa HL! I LOVE red hair mixed with blonde...SO beautiful! And girlfriend, you ain't so bad lookin' yourself! Everything looks gorgeous on you!

Patty Carosi: Iced Latte Macchiato I just love this color. This is going to help so many going gray now. Thank you Taz.

Gerri W: Thanks Taz great review. Not quite ready for gray I would have to try one on before ordering one You look great in all colors

C C: You Look great in all of them ...great advice !

margo81172: Omg, I love that iced pumpkin spice! It does look like my hair color as a child

Connie Feltman: Hi TAZ! I just ordered Jon Renau’s ... STORM! I am so excited!!! It was on sale! All in all ... came to $250! So excited I just had to SHARE with you! Started to buy one with light color through it ... but chicken out! lol I am growing my gray out ... perfect wig to put on and cover the ugly two tone!

Sheri Palmer: Excellent and super helpful as always Taz.

Chantelle Monroe: Excellent video. Thank you for making it.

Laurice: Those grey hair styles look Beautiful & Powerful to me! Like Storm the super action She-ro from Marvel comics, or Elsa & Anna from Disney’s Frozen! You look Amazing in all 50 shades of grey! Thanks for sharing!⛈⚡️❄️

Cathy Olague: Perfect!! Just what I was hoping for!!

Amy Rutherford-Close: Cute choices- I have 1 grey wig. Don't love the style so only worn once. Need to rethink options.

Cheryl B: EXCELLENT INFORMATIVE VIDEO, TAZ!!!

Carine Somers: You do better wig reviews and give better advice than the producers themselves

Joyce M.: I have a strange color of gray hair but I find Martini from Jon Renau matches it perfect.

Nani Womack: Girl what doesn’t look good on you! Never known anyone to look good in all the colors that you wore. I was salt and pepper but decided to finally dye my hair didn’t come out like the color on the box. I was using organic. Loved it looked auburn. What I have left from chemo is a silvery gray. By the way. I bought Holland Lol so big on me, you warned us the bangs covered my eyes Love real deal by Raquel Welch. Styled it just a bit with my fingers and it came out like your. My husband prefers this one.❤️❤️

Cheryl Kitchen: Loved it. Thanks for posting.

Kimberly Guiseppe-Cooley: Omg I hate red but what you're wearing is absolutely GORGEOUS!

Kaye Carter Mature Woman Daily Dose: My twin ‍♂️ is letting her hair grow natural... not sure what color mine is...will see when she grows out. Lol You look so pretty in all looks. Sending hugs, prayers and kindness. Love you

Lisa Vento: i was hoping to see MORE ACTUAL "GRAYS", wigstudio1 doesn't show many of the grays on a model and some of the swatches can be deceiving like RW's SUGARED LICORICE whose swatch looks black but is a variegated gray, black, silver wig. SOME are not variegated at all and so a GRAY VIDEO would be awesome! (or a feature on their site)

Roots, Rocks & Feathers: Oh, my favorite is Tony of Beverly's Sandstone, rooted or not. It is so, so natural! I adore that color. It's fabulous as a transition color to gray or even as the final step, that ashy dark blonde, but it's not yellow ashy or gray, very dynamic. Of course Raquel Welch's SS Cappuccino is also a nice one, that ash really helps. Rene of Paris Ice Blonde is another one that really veers into Gray-blonde. I will say that Mimosa HL does not appear that way on a straight style like Khloe, unless they have changed that color a lot . I had it and it was like a warm blonde. Just a heads up for the viewers. I like this version! ~Cyn

Karen Ann: You are adorable in your own natural short pixie!

Cin Ma: Loved this wig channel.

Tia Maria: Still binging your videos...making purchase lists

Sandy Ludlow: Wonderful information Taz. Tx so much!

valerie rhodes: I love your bio hair the most!

Bonita Sawyer: Totally enjoyed.

Linda Pesnell: ❤️Thank You ❤️

Eva B: I love grey wig Rachel Welsh. chin length with touch of lavender, rooted. Calls IF YOU DARE.

Tanja Kobasic: Wow, are you ever pretty. Love your natural hair.

Judy Armstrong: While I agree with others you rock them all...IMHO throw them all out except for the reds!! You are a gorgeous redhead ;) ;)

Dr. B W: Good job Taz

Liz Cromwell: Excellent
