You'Ve probably seen a monofilament wig among your choices, and you know by the price that it must be an upgrade feature. But what does this mean exactly? Monofilament refers to the wig cap and how it's made it offers the most realistic appearance of scalp and hair movement possible monofilament wigs are made by tying or sewing hairs in sections to the top portion of the cap. This area is made from a fine shear material known as the monofilament. This allows each of the tied hairs to be parted and brushed in any direction. The wig has an amazingly natural look and moves just like biological hair. Some wig caps have monofilament just in the part area. This makes the wig more affordable but still gives it that natural look. Because of this time. Intensive process monofilament wigs, are considered to be a high quality product and can tend to be more expensive, but the benefit is well worth it.

Annora: Thank you for this information. Unlike the other bad tempered commenters I will need a wig soon and appreciate the close up explanation. Although I think a silk lace front may be the most naturalistic. This is something I could afford.
TALKCalgary: Wigs are way too much hustle. You shouldn't need to spend weeks learning about wig types, construction and how to fit them. Also spending hours each day taking them on and off is a pain.
