How I Fit My Long Locs Under A Wig (Kinda) | An Experiment

Welcome to my channel and welcome back to my subscribers as you can see, I am Imani. I have sister locks that are relatively long and I will be showing you all how to fit long locks under a wig so disclaimer, I'm not a wig ologist or whatever. That'S called, I have never worn a wig in my entire life. I have basically had natural hair, my entire life and I've had locks for as long as I can remember ever since I was about nine or ten so um. The point of this video is to show you how to fit your hair under the wig. Is it gon na look cute and do you know how it a style, awake and mommy? I sure do not alright. So if it doesn't look good, don't come for me in the comments I literally, I literally started. It was telling you that I don't know how to style this thing. Just so you guys gon na feel how long my hair is. My hair is about yang Wang, yeah, so where's, my hair, alright. So my hair as long this point is: oh wow, is it waist length its waist length now? Okay, yeah, I usually trim my hair, so I don't know. Is that long and then in the front I mean cuz, you got here chesticles then I just say that um you have boobs they. It doesn't go all the way out of my waist, but this is just so y'all can see how long my hair is for. Okay, now we're gon na get in to this and mm. I hope it looks good hey. I hope it looks good. Also. I'Ve been working on my dancing, still bad, okay, let's get onto the video. So this is a super easy tutorial. You will not have to know how to flat twist flat. Braid did, I just say flat, braid cornrow. What in the world yeah you don't have to do any of that. If you want to do your hair, the way that I'm about to show you and what you're going to need is a wig and this wig. It is a you got ta morning. What is this? It'S a deep place, part c-curve wig and it's from Motown stress. I believe, and then the color one - I don't remember the style. Oh the style is DP Willa um. I will try and find the link to this wig. I got it a really long time ago, when I'll say I make next video and I'll put that in the description box below. If, for some reason you want to purchase this one and then it was also like, I think, 20 or 30 dollars very, very cheap, and I think it was it's synthetic also. I didn't want to get like human hair, because I don't really plan on wearing this out in public and then you're gon na also get any generic brand of a large band weigh cap. This is like the brand that I got for my friends. I'M not a wig ologist, so there you have it and then, if you would like this is a personal thing, I see people whenever they do do wigs. They lay their edges. So I think, under this I'm gon na lay my edges as well and for everyone wondering I have a video on my channel about how I, like my edges, while having locs and I'll, show you the product that I use this all so yeah. I used this. It is the style factor edge, booster stronghold, styling gel and the pineapple scent. That'S optional, the way your edges for me, though, I don't think it's optional for this way, cuz you need to blend it sweetie, but don't have to listen to me. Okay, so let's go ahead and get into this so begin. The premise of putting your hair under a weight, so I've been told, is that your hair is as flat as possible from like the front and like the crown, and then it can bunch up a little bit more towards like the date. So to ensure that the front is as flat as possible, no you don't look like a conehead. We are going to start from any side of your head by your temple and I don't even know what this is called. It'S kind of like a like a barrel. Twist but it's barrel twist cornrow, I don't know um leave in the comments what it is, but I hope you can see what I'm doing so you're grabbing a little section and then you're just continuing it just rolling. Also, my nails are not done mind your business. So you're just gon na keep rolling it and rolling it rolling it around the edge line of your hair gathering as much hair, not too much because you still wanted to be flat. Remember and it's gon na look like a cute little sister log headband when you're done so here is a close-up, and I also need to retire. My hair again mind your business. So when you get to the ear part you're, just gon na keep on doing that same twisting motion I stopped like about here. Okay, you're gon na have a good bit of hair left, but don't be alarmed, and what I do is you just clone through your locks so that there's condensed as possible and their lifes chunks and what you're gon na do or gon na do is grab that Hair that is left in kind of roll, that big chunk hope you can see it. So it's like the ponytail right here. You kind of roll it in the same direction as you had it, and then you keep rolling but then you're going to roll down. So you're gon na put the rest of that can detail as close to the nape of your neck as possible and distribute that hair evenly and then whatever is left over, which should be a tiny amount. You should go ahead with your hand, and you can fold it over so like this, you have it flat ish, you have your hand as a base. You fold it over and wow. This is what its gon na look like underneath of the wig. From the back view, the side view in the front view and as you can see before I put the wig cap on the hair, is really flat in the front and this you can move as well, so we're gon na go ahead and put the wig cap On I go from the nape of the neck up just to make sure that I'm getting all that hair, you don't want to ruin that little pattern that you have it's gon na be a little fight. Also if it gets a little loose, it's fine. You can just go ahead and tuck that hair that got unraveled once the wig cap is on, rearrange it so that it is as flat as possible. That is Neagle here and it's more centralized towards the back. You don't want the wig cap to be like fully um over your edges, because you're gon na go ahead and you know blend that, but make sure it's covering the beginnings of your lock, okay cool. So this is what it looks like before you like, flatten it out even more, you look like an egghead, but it's gon na it's gon na flatten out like this when you put the lid on okay. So it's cool another thing that I recommend is getting another wig cap and putting it over the initial wig cap. What this will do is condense that bulge in the back, and make your hair a lot flatter and also help to centralize that bulge towards the back and nape of your neck, instead of towards the crown which is really crucial in order to have the wake. Look as flat and ultimately as natural as possible, I will warn you it's a little tight so to each his own, but definitely give it a try. If you feel that you need the extra heavy duty helping hand to make the wig come as flat as possible. On your head, okay, so we're gon na go ahead and get our wig ready your wig of choice. I really don't know much about wigs, but I'm gon na show you the inside of it, because I think that's important. So I think this is the? U part? Lace, okay and then they're the hooks and it's two on each side at the nape of the neck. So what I see people on YouTube, do I'm gon na try it you put the wig on and I'm going to. I guess dip my head into it. I don't know like you know when they go like it's on like this is definitely incorrect. It'S okay gets better. I promise guys so you make sure it's like secured in the back and then once you have all that back in there, you just keep maneuvering it until it's where's the front, I'm confusion. Okay, there, oh man! Oh, how are you gon na do this cool? So that's pretty much on as you can see, this is how much is like left. That'S because I'm going to lay my edges, but, as you can see, with the wool tutorial, you actually don't look like a conehead. Surprisingly Wow. I look like a different person mm. Okay, as you can see, it's still flat at the top, which is like what you need it to be, and I'm gon na go ahead and lay my edges and come back and then yeah that'll be the tutorial okay. She is here, she's laid. It doesn't look like a hump, obviously it's not gon na be as high as it would be if you didn't have a lot of hair or logs, but I think this is a pretty good deal as you can see. Oh, like it's getting all in my eye, but whatever um, I kind of like my edges, I feel like to make this look more natural because it is a synthetic wig. One, might you know, cut the front so that you can make the actual hair of the way the edges, but, like I said, the point was to get the wig on not too violet. I'M Michele person, but I would laugh as well, but as you can see from the back, it doesn't look like you have an egghead. You know you know how like people, who get like bad booty implants and they look like an ant. Like I imagine like the head version, it's not like that. It'S like pretty flat in the back and then, as you can see, because I know some people are going to ask me: can you see any walks in the back? No, you can't see the locks at all. As you can see, so I did fit all my hair under um.
