How To Remove Spirit Gum From A Lace-Front Cosplay Wig And Wash It.

Alright so I finally have a cosplay related video up here. I swear it wasn't supposed to take this long to do this but I haven't really worked on anything cosplay related in a bit. Once I'm moved to the city it will happen much more often I'm sure. I needed to try to salvage my Ursula wig and am quite happy with the results!

THUMBS UP for more videos!!

Love you guys!

Hey guys so today, um we're gon na actually do something. Cosplay i've been kind of trying to get different ideas for things uh to post cosplay wise, but i haven't really been working on anything um when it comes to cosplays lately and today i decided that um. It was time enough, and i wanted to see if i could salvage my ursula wig um. I got this wig from arda. It was 45 dollars. I think it's a marty wake it's their new newer version and i've been using this as my ursula wig, but because we've been using spirit, gum um, it's been getting like really nasty like you can see like caked on um spirit gum, and i didn't know if We could necessarily save it so because i was having issues just removing removing it from here. So now, um i've been i've done about half of it. So far as you can see, it's pretty clean, so we've got proof that i can salvage it. So i'm going to show you guys how i've been doing that, and also it's got. You know like a pile of hair spray and all sorts of things in here as well as like on the edge. You can kind of see a little bit of purple here from the uh, the body paint, so we're we're getting all of this removed here. I'M gon na show you guys how i wash my wigs as well. Next, i looked all over uh youtube and i couldn't find any videos on how to remove spirit gum from a lace front wig or you know, and most of the videos on how to clean the lace front. Wig were for like the really expensive, um actual hair. Wigs, so i figured i'd, show you guys how um, how i do mine and um all right, so we're gon na start all right, so for this you're gon na need spirit, gum, remover as well as cotton, swabs and um, obviously q-tips uh. This is obviously a very tedious uh thing, so you're gon na put the spherical remover on the cotton swab and then you're going to pat that onto the lace front, just to let it soak in and loosen all that glue and then you're going to take more Speargum you're going to put it on the q-tip and you're just going to keep on going and just kind of scrubbing and scrubbing with it until you know your that part of the q-tip is dirty roll. It keep going use the other end repeat with another q-tip um. Just you know, keep going again and again, as you can see here until it it comes off um. So this you know this was pretty tedious um. If you don't want to do this, then you might not want to get a lace front, wig um for cosplaying uh, because you know you do have to glue it on there. You can use double sided tape as well. I just i actually really like the way that it comes out with the spirit gum, except for, like one spot, where i put it in where i had to it's, because we cut it on an angle. You should always uh cut your lace front, wig in curves with that, but, as you can see, it's like coming off and you just keep repeating and repeating and repeating until it's all gone um yeah i was, it wasn't fun, but at the same time i'm glad I saved myself a bunch of money by salvaging this wig all right, so um. The lace front is all clean here. It'S like a few tiny specks, but in general it's pretty clean. So now what i'm gon na do is in a clean sink. We'Re gon na put some cold water, never wash your wig with hot water. It'S really bad for your once. Wig got a little bit of water in put a little bit of shampoo, not too much. Now i'm gon na wash all the the hairspray and all sorts of crap that was left on this, so just get your wig in there obviously concentrate on the spots that are dirty and now you're going to just concentrate on any of the problem. Areas like i had spots with uh paint like purple paints that you know you just scrub it around with your fingers until that goes away and just keep going and going until you've gotten any like problem spots like the paint off of those areas, and everything is Nice and clean - and you know just keep repeating and repeating and repeating until you're done. Obviously this is a white wig, so it can be a little bit harder to deal with like that and now just drain and rinse your wig really well in cold water. Again. Do not use hot water and just keep doing that until all the soap and residue is out of your wake and you have a nice and clean wig all right, and here we go. I just kind of hung it on my sewing machine. So that's gon na dry overnight and then i will be ready whenever i can get the rest of the stuff to wear ursula again and she's nice and clean. So i just saved myself something like 45 or 65, because i was really worried that i was gon na have to just get rid of this wig. So that's how you do it um. So again, if you want to see um more cosplay videos like this uh, let me know down below again like comment subscribe and if there's anything you want to see, don't be scared to. Let me know alright.
