How To Put On A U Part Wig | Lillys Hair Review

In the video I'll be showing you how to put on a u-part wig also known as a half wig, and go over the basics about what they are and the pros and cons to a u-part wig. The method I'll be showing you today is super easy to do, I don't braid my hair or do any extra steps so I can pretty much throw on a u-part wig in about 5 mins. Which is one of the reasons why I love these u-parts, they are so easy!! I think they are perfect for beginners to the wig scene because you don't need to mess around with any lace, you just leave your own hair out so it looks way more natural around the hairline.

The wigs I'll be showing you today are from Lillys Hair:

She'S secure all right, hello, welcome back to my channel, so in today's video we're going to talk all about u-part wigs. So what are they and how do you put one on? Let'S go ahead and get into it, so i am wearing a u-part wig right now. So this wig is from lily's hair, so this video is in collaboration with lily's hair. I actually have two of their u-part wigs to show you so the one that i'm wearing right now and then i have this one here. So this one is the sister two, the one that i'm wearing they're, basically the exact same wig except just different tones. So this one that i'm holding right now is a little bit more of a cool tone blonde and then the one that i'm wearing is a little bit more of a warm toned blonde. So you can kind of see the difference if i hold them up next to each other. This one gives me more: like posh city girl, vibes, she's a little more coolish a little more icy, and then this one gives me like golden girl, california, beachy vibes. You know this one is more la and then this one is more new york, but as long as it matches your your root, you can wear either blonde but yeah. I just wanted to show you the two different ones that i have so the way a u-part wig works is. This is what it looks like these bands you're gon na cut off. So don't even don't even worry about those. So it's just this little section here and you're gon na leave your own hair out, so it's almost closer to wearing clip and hair extensions than wearing a wig. So you don't have to worry about. Like the wig part, you don't have to worry about the lace. You don't have to worry about the hairline, because it's literally your own hairline, that's out so it looks way more natural. You don't have to worry about, like gluing the lace down or anything like that. So, if that all intimidates you, maybe a u-part wig might be the way to go, because you get all the benefits of wearing a wig as far as like the length the thickness, and you only have to worry about blending the top part. So i feel like it is a little bit more of a seamless look than wearing clip and hair extensions, so i am going to show you how to put this on. So let me go ahead and i'll take this one off and i'll kind of walk you through step by step, how to do it. It'S honestly, so easy all right. So this is my little short hair and this is the wig i was just wearing. So that's what it looks like without the bands, so i'll show you what the inside looks like so the inside around the? U part, you have three clips and honestly, i think i might add two more clips just at the very ends. I feel like just to clip these little parts down. I feel like it would benefit with like five clips, but you do have the three clips over here and then on the sides. You have two combs which i do use. Can you see so there's a comb here and a comb here and then you also have a comb at the bottom as well, and then you have the little adjustable straps in case you want to make it a little bit tighter, so yeah. That is this one. Here and i'll just show you them again side by side what they look like. So it is a very subtle difference and i'll leave the links for these wigs down below and all the the specs about it. I think they are cambodian hair and i'll leave the length and everything down below the remy cuticle aligned. Honestly, this hair is gorgeous. It is so thick and glamorous and luxurious. This is this: is the thickness here so i'll show you how to put this one on from start to finish, so i'll actually show you how i cut the little bands off as well. I think it works better if you look at it from the inside and then you can just cut along the edge right there all right, so the bands are off. I'M just going to go ahead and put this to the side. While i prep my hair all right so to prep my hair, what i'm going to do is i'm going to section out a little? U part because it's a! U part wig! So i'm just going to go ahead and start on one side and draw the little? U shape so. This might take a little bit of trial and error when you're first starting, because you might not know how much hair to leave out. I would err on the side of leaving out more hair than less because it'll help with the blend a little bit more but yeah. This might take you like a few one or two tries until you know how much hair to leave out all right. So something like this, so we have that - u section so this is the hair, that's going to be left out, so i'm going to go ahead and clip this up. So this is all the hair that i leave out. If you do have longer hair, i would recommend leaving out the sides of your hair as well like the little part before your ear. So this section here and then this section here and then i would tie up the rest of your hair. But because my hair is short, i'm going to tie this part up as well, because you'll see the difference because it's so short compared to the wig. But if you do have longer hair, i would recommend leaving the sides out as well. It'Ll, give you like a way better blend and look way more natural, but you can, if you have short hair like me, you can totally tie the rest of it back and put this inside the wig and it still looks really good as well. So that's kind of like one of the benefits of u-part wigs, i feel like any length of hair can wear it. You just have to kind of know what works best for you. So what i'm going to do is i'm just going to slick the rest of this hair back into a tight little pony alright. So now i have my hair prepped, i'm ready to put on the wig. So what i'm gon na do first, is i'm gon na adjust these little adjustable bands at the bottom, i'm just gon na hook them in place so that it is a little bit tighter and the way that i found works best for me is, i start at The back and then move to the front, so the first thing i do is i clip or yeah kind of clip this little comb underneath my ponytail. So i just slide that in under there and then what i'm going to do is secure these side combs as well just right here, i'm going to slip them into my ponytail and then i do the top clips. So i'll show you how that looks like. So i'm just going to start with the comb in the back and slide that in right under my ponytail bring this up. So this is where it's going to line up, so i want to make sure i kind of have it in place and then i'm going to grab these combs on the side and slide them in, and i feel like these combs are pretty important. I wouldn't skip out on them. I feel like they do like hold up the wig, like they kind of bear. A lot of the weight of the wig, in my opinion, so definitely use these and slide that in and then all you have left to do is secure this top part. So i start with the middle clip at the back, so just slide that in there and then one side clip and then the other side. So it looks something like that and you can kind of see what i mean. I think i might add, because i do have like extra clips from other hair extensions. I might add one more just at the end, so i can clip these parts down because they're kind of like floppy, you know what i mean so yeah just clip that down, but you can see if you had your hair out on the sides, it would definitely Blend a little bit more around your face. Let me just comb this out a little bit, but you can see even with my hair tied in it just kind of looks like it's tucked behind my ear or something you know, so it still totally works alright. So now you just let your hair down and style it. So i have thin hair and not a lot of it. So i do feel like this requires a little bit more styling, but if you have thicker hair and a lot of it, you know a lot of thick hair. I feel like you could just let it down and it would be really easy for you. But for me i just want to make sure that i'm covering this track really well. So what i do i just let my hair down and then i comb it out so that it is covering everything and then hairspray is going to be your best friend when it comes to styling the u-part wig. So you don't want your hair to be like moving around too much at the top, because then you can show your secrets, so i'm just gon na brush this in place and then give it a really good hairspray alright. So this is what we're looking at right. Now and i'm just gon na spray it in place, i'm using the got to be the one, and only all right so once that is all laid down to your satisfaction, then you just style the hair as normal. So for this part, i'm just going to take my flat iron and give it a little bit of a bend so kind of it kind of flows with the waves of the wig right all right. And then this is basically the final look i'll stand up and show you what the wig looks like again. I love this hair. It is beautiful. I can't get over how good this looks. So let's talk pros and cons, so a pro is that you have your own hair out your own hairline out, so it definitely looks a lot more natural. It looks more like hair extensions than a wig, so if you are a beginner to wigs, this might be really good for you, because you don't have to worry about the lace or anything like that. So if that overwhelms, you definitely try a u-part wig. You might like this a lot better, but with these because your hair is out, it does have to match your own hair versus with wigs. You can wear any color of wig because it covers all your hair and it is a little bit more of a protective style like a full wig is more protective because you don't have your hair out, so there's kind of pros and cons to both of them And for these u-part wigs, i have worn this wig for an entire day and honestly, it doesn't really bother your hair at the end of the day, if i do wear it for a very long time, i do find it kind of starts to get a bit Sore at the top, but they are overall really comfortable and i feel like the weight of the wig, is very evenly distributed. So at first i was worried that it would just be hanging on by these clips at the top, but once you have it on, it does feel very comfortable and secure, and i think these combs at the side really help to kind of hold everything up. So it does feel very, like she's, secure, she's, secure, she's good. So if you are interested in getting a u-part wig of your own i'll leave all the information for lily's hair in the description box down below they do obviously have more colors than just the blonde. They have like a bunch of different colors, so definitely check them out and let me know i'm gon na leave a poll at the top. Do you like the warm tone blonde or the cool tone blonde better on me? Let me know cause i'm curious they're. So similar, but yet so different, you know, but yeah definitely check them out. Look in the description box and i'll see you guys in my next video. Thank you so much for watching bye. You

Teatra Joseph: Thank you so much! Both blonds look good on you but if I had to choose I think I would go with the cool blonde Jesus loves all and wants to save all. Romans 10:9-10✌️

Vee Hart: Do they feel as nice and soft after washing them? I been a extension wearer for yrs! I get the Bellami boogati ones and Luxury for princesses. But after I wash then whatever they seal them with washes off and quickly I feel like they get so tangled on bottom and they feel dryer after a month or so in my experience . It’s frustrating! I spend so much on them. And I spend quite a bit on products to deep condition etc. Just came across ur channel, nice ❤️

JaeToTheMax: Would u recommend a high pony tail with this wig?❣️ ur gorgeous btw

Gia Blonde: U-part wigs are the best hidden secret. last longer and the least maintenance of ALL hair extensions. your leave out keeps it looking natural

Isabella Valentina: what if your going bald where the U is? Kind of useless.

USAFAccarter Carter: This company is a scam. Its not even human hair. You should update this. So you got free wigs "collabortation" video. But it makes you not trustworthy because lilly's wigs are garbage. Huge cap and not human hair.
