Hey, what's up YouTube: topless p51 7, coming back with you guys with a freaking messy messy setup right here, but what we're going to do today? Actually, it's a short, simple tutorial: how to fix lace tips, as you guys know, I'm working on restoration on the twelve fives and when I bottom realize this sucks, I can't just clean the laces. I got to fix the lace tip on one of them, because it's missing that piece. It'S actually my first time trying it so bare with me, but the trick that I found is instead of using the tape and glue and wrap it around. All that feel get some clear heat shrink tube that you can find at RadioShack. What you want to do ideally slip it on to the tube right here and then use a lighter and run it through. But what I'm going to do first is: I am going to cut off this section because it looks kind of nasty and gross, and I think once it's a shrunk, it's not going to look too good either. So I'm going to snip off a small section of it that way. It gives me a little bit enough room to actually put that through the tube, because if I can't get it through tube, it's going to be hard and you want to get it through enough. Just for the same length of what you need, so the bust measurement is the other shoelaces and we're looking at about a little bit more, get that in there mom. That'S what she said and that's it. So what I want to do now push a little bit more yeah is cut off the end of it, for you guys can see me right there and, let's, let's wish me luck, and hopefully this works. You need a lighter to the heat shrink and just kind of want to go back and forth, and that way you don't want to burn anything and voila. I did burn a little bit of it, but it did what it needed to do. Got myself a new shoelace tip and looks exactly like factory other than a little bit of burnt, but I think I can rub that off clean it up. Rub it off yeah it kind of it kind of rubs off, but there you have it simple. It'S fixed! You can use for getting your lace tips fixed now. I can put these guys back into the shoe and you guys got any questions. Let me know, but tubing radioshack, they sell them online. They also sell them at the store. This is the pack. I got right here: they do have a whole set of clear ones, but they only sell those online and then I think shipping cost more than actual tubes and that's pretty much it. So you guys got any questions, make sure to put in comments below make sure thumbs up on the video and like it and share it on the NAP peace out.

Gih: Great video. I wasn’t aware of heat shrinking tubes! I suggest threading the lace through the tube before cutting the end off, that way, it will be much easier than hoping you can get it in by twisting and shoving. Thanks for the heads up!

Sneaker Stork: Wow awesome tip! This happens to me all the time so will definitely have to try this out next time! Thanks!

Aurelas Rainsong: That looks so much better than the way I usually fix shoelace ends (tape, lol). And way more fun too! I think a trip to Radio Shack is in order :D

Kathryn Erskine: I'm dyslexic and I find it very stressful to have such loud music to listen to at the same time as listening to you speaking. It's very difficult to hear two things at once it's like two people speaking to you at the same time for people who have dyslexia and perhaps people who also have attention deficit disorders. I find it very stressful it would be great if you make videos that don't have such loud music. Just one tip your ideas are brilliant and I'm really looking forward to trying this with the heat shrink tube, you might find it easier just to thread and needle and slip it through the tube to pull the ribbon in

fernyysanchez: great tutorial! helped me out big time

Pollener: I found out that if you use tape (Gorilla, Duct, etc) to wrap the shoe lace first, the heat shrink tube will have better grip.

Mohammad Siraj: omg thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou. i messed up the lace tups on my gmp 6s and I've been searching desperately for new ones. THIS IS AMAZING

johnny johnson: Great idea-thanks for the tip!

Spencer Brock: Really appreciate this. Just bought some og air Jordan's and a pair of nike zooms I'm repairing. Didnt wanna use janky tape so I'm super excited to try this.

Lok Fung Sun: Great tutorial! Thank you!

Tony Cummings: Hello my friend, good helpful video, you didn't need to heat the ends so long though, next time as your heating them squash the ends as you heating them, job done!!

ArcanePath360: Using heat shrink is inspired, Dude! Never thought of that, and I have plenty lying around. BTW hold the lighter further away if you don't want to burn it. Plastic has a low melting point, you don't need the flame so close.

Johnny Y: Wow man this really helped!!

hellagrant: If you happen to have a heat gun, I believe that is a safer method. Maybe even a hair dryer? From my experience heat shrink melts pretty quickly even at low temperatures.

Dre Knows Kicks: Bro you can also use a hair dryer or heat gun to shrink that tubing without burning the heat shrink...

Kathryn Erskine: What size is the heat shrink tube?

GRAND412: Great tutorial!

Ryan Hosiassohn: Which mm tube did you use for that ?

SHOEZEN_ONE: Sweet. Thanks for sharing this idea!!!

Milan Lee: Another fix would be to get some extra strong hairspray and staray the hell out of it and lace it through the shoe. Its only temporary but if you can't get the stuff he's using u can use this for a quick fix.

Jordan Weitz: will you please do a video on how you do all of the restorations on the toros? please!

Sugabear007: For all the years of sneakerdom I have this is a tip I have not come across. Many thanks brother. Samurai bow..!

Lazaro Rodriguez: Hello optimusp517! How are you? Just used you idea on my Neon Orange Air Max 2013 and I must say it worked! Thank You Very Much and Take Care Bless ☝️ -Lazarus

Comrade Bananahead: What size of shrink tubing was that?

Yvette: I need laces fixin’ for my Jordan’s too!

kicks007: Nice video, more of these!!

Foothills NZ Taka: I just got myself 6mm heatshrunk tube, the tip ended up a little too fat for holes . I should have got smaller diameter tube instead. but I managed to put through eyelets.

Amit Kumar: Nice shoe lace repair...Thanks

Lewis Beck: Would a dryer heat it up enough?

CoMan601: Where can we find those plastic tubes from?

JoltTheSpark: May I suggest a hair dryer. Slower process but definitely a cleaner look my friend. Thanks for the video!

Ryan & Jen: What size heat shrink tube did you use? 3mm?

Шарфик: You could have use soldering iron instead of the lighter.

marvin joseph barawid: What size is that shrinkable tube you used? Thanks

melonheadoldskool Rodriguez: It worked thanks

Hector Giron: Instead of a lighter just use a hair dryer, it will do the job without the burnt aspect.

t mol: First off...radio shack? Are there any still open in 2023? Hope i can find that stuff someplace else...that plastic part came off my shoe when i pulled to untie it. GRRRR!!! Also, would a match work instead? Thanx!

Kathi Sharpe: love the video, but you really should answer people questions

David Newman: What was the diameter of the heat shrink tube ? Loads for sale but need to know mm size ! Any help gratefully received

Shelby Michelle: “that’s what she said”

Micah Davis: where can u get the tubing from

joshua hand: do you do customer restorations?

Donna H.: That's pretty smart :)

NonStop Hustla: Oh no where can i get it without radio shack

Mouns Vlogs: Thank you .

Kris P: what size tuning is that

I don’t mind pineapple on pizza: The tip is called an aglet and radio shack isn’t a thing anymore
