Heyyyyyy Errrrrrbody!!!!

We're back in this baffffrooom working on this hair!!!! I've shampooed and conditioned it because I'm preparing to go get box braids. After blow drying, I noticed a totally new area of thinning.

Hey everybody welcome back to my bathroom y'all, it's been a minute since we've been in here, but this is what i have going on. I want to. I want my hair braided and i want box braids, okay and i'm so excited about being able to put my hair up in a bun. I'M just wanting something easy, easy, peasy right now in my life as it pertains to my hair. So i totally feel like i can do this myself. I'Ve never done it, but i feel like i can do it, but i also don't feel like doing it and my dilemma in allowing someone else to do. It is for those of you that um have been kind of on me with this with me on this hair journey. You know that i've dealt with uh, i deal with thinning and i'm doing some treatments as it pertains to that. But again, i just don't feel like doing my hair myself, because i know it's going to take me a whole lot longer to do it than it will letting somebody else do it: okay, um, so i've been in search for somebody that can do my hair, but Be gentle, i don't like it tight, i don't want it tight, you won't be braiding up my eyebrows and my lashes eyelashes with my hair, so i went to um was on the hunt and i think i came across somebody when i made the statement about. I need someone that's going to be gentle uh gentle is in the title of their business. I mean not that that automatically means that they're going to be gentle but anyway, so i have heard that i want to do knotless or some people call it. The feed-in method, because i've heard that that doesn't weigh as much and pull as much on your hair and that it really feels lighter. So, having said that, i have found someone to do my hair, so my appointment is this morning and of course i want to go with clean hair. So i told this person that i was going to shampoo my hair and you know i see you in the morning now, i'm not when i shampoo my hair lately when i shampoo my hair lately, i've just been shampooing it and then i'll plait it up and Take it loose, i've not blow dried, my hair in quite some time, that's usually done when i go get my hair, shampooed and styled. So when i shampoo my hair last night, i dried it and in me drying it. You know i just started kind of getting a mirror and looking at my hair and turning around, and i noticed that i'm dealing with more thinning right here in the very middle of my hair, like in the nape area. Let me see if i can show you guys see if you can get a visual and then me seeing this okay, i'm gon na try to turn around and back up slowly and hopefully you guys can without hitting my camera. Hopefully you all can see. Wait a minute y'all! Let me see where i'm at. Let me see okay kind of in this area. Do you guys see that so the hat in the world is somebody gon na be able to put a braid right here? You can't so that has me feeling some kind of way and then there was also an area kind of over here, but here is not as bad as here. Okay and you guys, i hope that didn't get blurred with me, standing so close to the camera. I won't know that until i edit so once i saw that my first thought was: oh, my goodness, i'm not gon na be able to do my bun how in the world because listen, i'm not i'm not looking crazy, yeah that that ain't gon na work, so I'Ve been standing here, trying to part it out, okay and get my part as straight as i can considering what i'm working with and yeah. Here i go again doing this on camera with you guys, but i'm going to do an undercut. I'M going to do an undercut um yeah, i'm doing it on camera, and i need to use my husband's clippers, but hey all of this has to go yeah. I just did that. So i'm gon na use my husband's clippers and see if i can get it. Looking halfway decent because again i'm trying to be in control of my hair, y'all and um, i don't want trying to braid it up and then, when i get through it looks crazy. No, we just what we get ready to do and this is y'all. This is this, is i consider this to be like edgy? For me, i mean i never would have thought i'd. Have my hair like shaved in the back and then longer in the top, so it's a little edgy for me a little edge. My husband would have a fit if he knew i was standing here doing this. That'S why i have to do this kind of stuff when he's not home. Okay, so now that i've got the majority of that cut and see a lot of women, you know i kind of want that tapered. Look that faded look! No! I won't be able to do all that, i'm sure, but i want it to look feminine. I don't want like a hard fade, okay, but at least right now this is gon na kind of help me get started. Let me grab his clippers, so we can use the clippers now, i'm going to use his wall clippers. I hope that's how you pronounce it wall. I don't think it's well. I think it's wall, i'm going to put a number one guard on here. I hope that's what they mean. I see a 1 8 inch. Then i see a one and then i see a three millimeter. Listen. I don't know what none of that mean. I'M hoping that one in the middle means it's the number one guard anywho y'all! That'S what we get me to do. I'M gon na use a one inch guard and i'm gon na have it closed. You can move this lever up and down. So i'm closing it where i think i'm closing it y'all see now y'all see what this is. What my husband calls me lucy because cause i'm always doing something, but i at least want to get. You know like most of this off and then um and then listen and then my husband can fix what i mess up and with me saying i like a. I want a soft fade because i don't want it totally bald. You know i like a little bit of hair down there, where i can see it on my nape. You know make my neck out on now. If it has to be ball to get it blended, then i guess they can do that, but i ain't done what you're trying to do? Oh y'all, okay put some clips on there, so hopefully some hair clips, hopefully it'll help my towels stay on girl. Oh, my god again and you guys, i have no idea how to blend so i know it's not going to be blended, but what i wanted to do is take it off, because i didn't even remember trying to braid it up. We don't know we're not messing with this, we're not even trying to break it up so once um listen, i don't want to get that. Oh i can do it. My husband wants to see this. I know it looked terrible yeah. I know my husband would say girl, you look like a walrus, but it would be great if i could get this fixed before i come home. Ah, but anywho yeah. That sounds like that's. That'S part, one! That'S what i wanted to do because this and then hopefully um like i said, but that's all right now barbara can fix it me. So y'all stay tuned stay tuned. So hopefully, when i come back either my hat is going to be braided and the back of it is going to be fixed. I hope that's the case. I really wish i could get somebody to fix that before y'all. That is really edgy for me, okay, but i just wanted to show y'all that little part - and another thing i was trying to do is get my part as straight as possible. I want her trying to do my part and it's crooked y'all. That'S just too much. All these stipulations girl, you need to be doing your own hair. I know it, but i don't feel like it this time, y'all pray for me. Let'S go get this hat ready, so that's yeah! So now try to give a guard yeah. That'S why i was asking you so we make sure we clear. So if you follow me, especially my pound cake videos, you've already seen this hair braided up it's about three. Almost four weeks later, since i've got my hair braided and it's even kind of growing, where you can't even really see the parts too much, you know even where i had my little line carted out for my undercut, it's growing back too, but i thought you know What let me pop back in so they can um, really see what we're looking like, because that way, if i do a video and my hair is put up - and you see the undercut you'll know exactly why. Okay, thanks to my dude number one aka, my husband for helping me get this nape of my neck together. So i don't know if, as it grows, if i'm just going to keep cutting it down, i don't know i don't know. What i do know is that i have to kind of pay attention to that area. That was thinning and again i was just really surprised because i've been treating the area in the top um, maybe my temples a little bit, but definitely the area where i knew i was dealing with the thinning. So when i saw that i was just like what in the world a totally new spot, because i really don't pay that much attention to the nape of my neck and i do wear when i pull my hair back um oftentimes once i shampoo my hair braid. It up take it loose to wear the crinkly. Look i'll pull it back, but i don't have it pulled tight. I actually use most of the time i use these little rubber, stretchy, hair, bows or hair ties, and i just i don't even twist it. I just put it on the one time and it holds my hair because my hair is, i guess, maybe thick in some areas. So anywho listen. I don't know, but this is what we're doing right now so going forward. There'S no telling what you may see as it pertains to styles again with these braids, i'm almost um kind of ready to take them out, because i'm so ready to give my hair a good shampoo but anywho in the meantime. In between time, i just wanted to show you guys what we ended up with and then again, if you notice this undercut in other videos where i shaved off the back of my hair. That'S why? Okay, it's my way of trying to make the best out of a challenging situation. How about that? Okay, all right! You guys! Well! Thank you all so much for watching. I already look forward to you joining me again next time, as i'm still on this hair journey. Listen, i guess it never stops all right, bye, guys,

Gladys Simmons: Lady Donna, you look beautiful and your braids are "LIT." Your undercut, it blended in well. I lost all my hair due to my Thyroids problems. Thank God for beautiful wigs. Stay safe.

Susan: I love the undercut! You are rocking it. I appreciate that you share some very personal real issues and that you are so positive in how you handle them. You're an inspiration!

Sandra Ford: Looks beautiful Mrs Donna loving the curls hang down on side.

Heartstring10 Spr2011: Hey Mrs. Donna! I love it! I admire your bravery to cut it yourself. You did great! Thanks for sharing!

Kelly Miller: When I was a teenager, my hair was so thick, I had to use a large pick to comb it out. Now, at age 53, it is so much thinner all over my head. The only place it's still thick is on the back of my neck where it makes me sweat! With hot flashes? Yikes!!

LadyCharlie Stallworth: Girl that undercut looks really good. The way you styled it up is cute.

Keisha J.: Hi Ms. Donna! I see the little thinning in your hair barely! You still are beautiful to us! Whatever makes you feel good! You can still do a bun with some hair hanging down on both sides in the back. Have a great rest of your day! Love ya.

meta4icalme: I lost a lot of hair after I caught Covid 19.. about 1/3 of my hair fell out the Dr said it was because it caused a decrease in certain nutrients. So, she told me to take B6, Biotin, Silica (horsetail), vitamin C and Zinc. It took a couple months but my hair is finally growing back. I found all of them in a hair skin finger nails vitamin.

DeOpera Thurston: Blessings Mrs Donna! The things us ladies have to endure! The undercut is cute tho!!

Yvett Whitaker: Ms. Donna you are a brave soul. I have tried to cut my bangs and all ways mess them up. But I try. Y the way I watch you often and I feel as though are the best friend a girl could have. I enjoy every video I watch. Thank you for taking time to make all your videos. You have a great family. God has blessed you immensely.

Roberta Ironmonger: You look gorgeous with those braids. The undercut is very becoming on you. I was blessed with extremely thick hair. Got it from my momma and my daddy. I use to fuss about it being so thick. Then I watched my sister lose all of her hair due to chemo then my momma went through the same thing. I haven’t complained about my hair since then. I’m thankful for it. I just keep it short now so the weight of it doesn’t give me headaches. Thank you for sharing your personal struggles with your new family here. We love you sweet lady. ❤️

Sharon Hutchinson: When I first started thinning, I founded out I had parathyroid disease. I love watching you and dude # 1

Eleanor Collins: ◡̈⋆ʜᴇʟʟᴏ(●’◡’●)ノ, your hair looks lovely. I am suffering with alopecia at this time in the crown area, I'm working on it and praying. Thank you so much for sharing.

TxAngel1968: As we get older, we lose things. I did the same a few years ago but I did it about a 1/3 of the way up. I loved it! I'm thinking braids and the same cut because them sweats on my neck at night....I love it! You are beautiful as always.

Kimarie Fav'd: Hey Ms. Donna!. The trim was a wise move, and it will make the hair come back even stronger.. I've found that my fragile spot got stronger with using Jamaican Black Castor oil. Your Braids are very Beautiful. Thanks for your Transparency and sharing your journey <3

Wanda Gray: I love it, this hair style is great for hair growth plus it makes you look younger. Just remember to keep your scalp hydrated with light oil. Not too much because oil attracts dirt.

At Memaw’s House: The hairstyle is very becoming to you! Really cute and probably easy!

Sandra Clark: I enjoy learning about different type of hair and enjoy watching the amazing style, braids you can do to your hair ,I would love to have more variety to do things to my hair like that cause different wigs and braids ect love you Ms Donna your hair always looks so beautiful

Saundra Jackson: It looks very nice. I have a thin spot in the top of my head also for a few years now. I have to wear my hair one way all the time. Very stressful because i always had a beautiful crown of hair.

VOTM, Inc.: Love the look! I have my back faded with mini crochet locs! By Yeshua stripes, the thinning of your hair is healed and restored!

Linda Phillips: Hello Donna. First let me say, your braids with the undercut looks gorgeous! I'm all about using as much natural products as possible. I don't know your particular situation, but look into organic clove tea mixture for a leave in treatment for hair growth. My belief is, everything we need our heavenly Father has already provided (naturally) I rarely use shampoo, instead I use 2 tsp of apple cider vinegar to 8 oz of water to cleanse my scalp and hair, your hair will feel amazing! I pray everything works out for you

Sheilonda McCullough: Hi Mrs Donna, thank you for sharing my hair is thinning up in my crown area. Someone advised me to try and do a deep conditioning 2 times a month and use a heating cap. Then a leave-in conditioner. I’ve noticed some growth starting to come in but slowly. Hope this helps.

ImPressedbysteph: Heyyyy Donna this was happening to me my hair has grown back tremendously only after I stopped relaxing my hair I went natural and I started using black seed oil in my hair menopause also had my hair falling out, I just started my journey with locking my hair I regret not doing it earlier...that black seed oil really is a game changer ❤️

Earlene Quarles: Ms Donna your hair looks beautiful. You did a wonderful job. I just love the braids.❤️

Official Jamia: Donna you look beautiful! As a hairstylist I totally understand having control over hair.

Lucy72: That undercut looks perfect to me. You are rocking it well Donna.

Z'Nisha Mizzell: Lady "Cousin" Donna you look so beautiful. I love the style and the undercut set it off.

Cym Sensible: Heyy Sista Donna! I have that issue at the nape of my neck as well. I believe I pulled my hair, for too long of a period of time, wearing those clip on buns and now nothing grows there. But I suffer from a bad case of alopecia as well. Now...I do attribute it to the meds I have been taking for years and the thyroid condition. So...now I shave my hair clean off and wear it in a very low cut style. ✂️ I am no fan of protective coverings (full wigs)...just a personal choice to pass on them. I have never found one that suits my fancy and that I am comfortable with. I have been contemplating getting a hair unit installed because the professionals I've considered add several layers of protection to their clients crowns before installing the unit that allows the natural follicles to breathe as well. Your hair is cool!!! Thanks for reading our comments and giving us hearts. ❤

Stephanie McCollum: Your hair looks beautiful Ms. Donna!❤ I'm also dealing with thinning in the center of my head but I may continue to wear my hair short as I've always had long hair. (this is truly an adjustment)

Renee Mosley: The undercut is cute on you! Use satin scrunchies for your ponies and a mixture of black castor, peppermint, and olive oil for you crown and edges. I had corticosteroid injections in my scalp to promote growth because I have a follicle problem.

Rhonda Parker: Ms. Donna thank you for sharing. I have lupus, so hair thinning and loss often occurs. I have found that oiling my scalp with black castor oil and aloe oil helps tremendously. Also drinking more water. Sometimes simply visiting an ethnic dermatologist. I'm praying for you, we're sensitive about our hair.

I’m Me: Go head Lady Donna! You look fabulous…. I love your braids… The hanging braids on the side are very stylish… Much appreciation for all your videos. God bless you & your family!!!

Ronni Tucker: I think I one of the prettiest braids I’ve seen. So classy, not over done and just the right amount and you look beautiful. It’s lovely.

Darcia White: I have done the same thing because my hair was thinning in the back at the nap. I shaved off a little bit more than you did because I had a certain style of braids in mind. I got the bob braids with that shaved look and boy did I rock it. My husband loved it my son loved it and you know I loved it that's why I did it that way. I did it for a year then let it grow back but I also notice that my hair grew back in the spot where my hair was thinning..

Donna Wynn: Ms. Donna, I love your braided it fits you beautifully ❤️. I have thinning hair and a bald spot on the top of my head that I’m self contagious about. I’ve even had my hair shaved all off at one time but now I’m just keeping it cut very low.

Maureen Terlizzi: Miss Donna…..Bless your heart. We all know what you’re feeling. We are all sensitive with something about ourselves. To all of us that love you, you’re perfect just as you are. Your kindness shines through in all you do. Sending smiles

Saundra Jackson: It looks very nice. I have a thin spot in the top of my head also for a few years now. I have to wear my hair one way all the time. Very stressful because i always had a beautiful crown of hair.

Shirley Z: When you first was cutting your hair my face looked like this but after seeing your braids up, it looked good. Now that it's grown alittle I think it looks beautiful. Of course what was I think, you always look beautiful. I'm glad the thinning part in the back has filled in. I'm wondering what treatment you do to thicken your hair. My hair is thinning these days too & was curious. Thanks for sharing!✌

Wannie Jeffery: Hey dear! You’re rocking that undercut!! Do you know why you’re thinning? I’m not sure if you’ve done this yet, but have your doctor do blood work to check your thyroid, vitamin D, iron etc. Also, if you’re on any meds, check the side effects. Take care dear!!

Edna Williams : Love the hair and you did a great job cutting the back, and I laughed when you said I don't want nobody braiding my eyebrows, believe me I understand what you saying but you looking good.

Rosalind Bush: The undercut and braids are cute. I have the same area thinning in the back it's actually almost bald. Many years ago I got my hair braided for a trip and the lady grabbed up all of my hair in the back of my neck so tight to where my head hurt for days. As a result there is a permanent scar in that same area.

Jean Rankin: you did a wonderful job and your hair is just beautiful

Foodie 2019: I love this look on you! Very cute! You wear it well.

Jennifer: I am tender headed so Knotless braids work best for me. I don’t leave with a headache and terrible attitude. In case you wanna try them at some other time

Anita McConnell: Hi Ms Donna, you're amazing, thank you for sharing, be safe stay BLESSED

Gracita Johnson: Wow Mrs Donna, you are so good with styling and taking care of your hair. I love the way you can part the back of hair and cut around the nape of your hair ☺️. Your braids and undercut looks beautiful Your husband, Rev Robert is the perfect person to keep your neckline shaped until the the hair grows back❤️❤️

Anissa Fleming: Thanks for sharing your hair journey, have a great evening

Rochelle Naturally: Your hair looks cute!! And your updo is really cute ... Edginess works for you!!! You go, Donna!!!

Cynthia Cummings: Heeeyyyyy there Ms Donna! Your natural hair is beautiful! It has grown a lot during the course of this hair journey of yours. I do agree with your decision to just cut off that little strip of hair in the nape of your neck. I was recently considering getting a very edgy haircut that would cut off my hair in that same area, but from just under temples all the way around. I had a psoriasis patch in the back of my neck that caused the hair to fall out. I found a good medicated cream that works and now it's cleared up. No more patch, praise God!!! The hair is growing back now, but still now quite up to parr.. I just may get that that edgy haircut.

Fox: I am an old lady. I love your content. Thank you for your professionalism

D-Champ's Beauty Parlor: You look Beautiful!! You don’t have to keep cutting it down! I’m a Board Certified Cosmetology Instructor/Advanced Cosmetologist, and you can try Nioxin and a Biotin Supplement. Blessings!

KoKoDvyn: Beautiful! You did a wonderful job. I have an undercut and shaved sides but never had the nerve to cut myself. My hubby takes care of me too

Linda Smith: Miss Donna, get an Aloe Vera plant from the store, and make sure the leaves are big. When you get the plant home, take a couple of the leaves and cut it open so you can get the aloe juice. Take the juice and apply it to your scalp making sure you get the areas where it is thinning. Continue to do this until you get results. I use aloe and olive oil to soften my hair, so you can use it every day because it is mild and healthy. peace

Anissa Fleming: I know knotless braids are great because it doesn't weigh on your hair or pull at the scalp

inessrene: And you are so beautiful! You skin is lovely!!! Them braids with that undercut is FLY!!!

Destin Venus: Hey Donna thank you for sharing with the family and the world because you never know how much you are helping people with your channel, looking at your scalp & hair loss donna it reminds me of my daughter and what her scalp looked like before she went to a dermatologist and got treatment, those red and white patches on your scalp causes hair lost if not treated, my daughter was diagnosed with seborrheic dermatitis, which I though it was just as my mom use to say growing dandruff but I'm old and that's what we thought back then, but after treatment my daughter's hair lost was no longer she still get the red/white flaky patches when she is stressed mostly, but in fact my daughter hair has grown and is mid way her back, however my sister has the same thing but she thought it was dandruff and she waited too late to seek treatment and my sister situation is really bad, she has hair loss/bald patches all over her head, her hair line starts at the middle of her head and she regrets not getting help, so if anyone out there have a scalp condition loosing hair please seek help because my sister will spend the rest of her life wearing wigs, after watching Donna both my sister and daughter wanted me to share with you guys to help whom ever is out there wondering why or not sure about what is going on with their scalp and hair, again Donna Thank You, God Bless You and Your Dude #1 Mister Robert

Rita Yarber: Mrs. Donna, As we get older our bodies change, and then there’s stress but I always believe to go with the flow and make the best of any situation. Thanking God throughout the process.

mildred campbell: That color look good on you Donna!
