Hey rosettes welcome back to my channel, so today we are doing a wig tutorial. I haven't done a wig tutorial in a long time, so i hope you guys enjoy uh my updated routine, so this video is sponsored by love me hair. So when you get the box, it just comes in with your wig, a comb and some goodies, and also the information on the wig, some lashes, a little hairpin and some um like earrings and such um. The wig i have here is a 26 inch 13 by 4, invisible lace or hd lace, wig with an adjustable, strap um. The wig looks already really natural, but we're gon na dye. The knots because i just have to to make it look how i want to look so what i'm using to dye the knots is the clairol pure right, 30 developer with a little bit of the bwb. What is it bw2, bleach and just mix it up until you get like a thick like paste, consistency, and you just want to dab this on your lace, make sure you're like dabbing it and not like swiping it, because you don't want it to bleed into the Actual roots of the hair, you don't want blonde roots. You just want blonde knots um, but this step isn't needed with this wig, like i showed you guys, you don't really need to bleach the knots because they already look good, but i just have to so you just rinse that out with purple shampoo, any purple shampoo. You have so we're going to go ahead and get started so right now i braided my hair down and i'm just using some edge wax just to really slick my edges back y'all when you're doing these uh wigs, protect the edges. Okay, protect the edges. You want to put your wig cap on and i like to try my best to like kind of get under there and make sure my edges are going back and just really stretch that wig cap out, so it's as thin as possible. That'S how you're going to get the best like ball cap method, if that makes sense, so right now, i'm just spraying. Some got to be spray if you've never seen this method. The purpose of this method is to just start from a clean slate. Almost if you had a ball head that you was putting a wig on so it just looks really good under the lace and it blends in with your skin, so you're, just creating the illusion of a bald head. Make sure you cut your ears out. I like to do the middle of my head, then the ear, so it's not just all running down my face, so just cut your ears out and just really um soak that area, because the ear tabs are the things are the the ear tabs are the areas That move or that come up the most. So you really want to make sure that you pay attention to that area and just take your time when it comes to those areas. So that's why i like to do the middle first and then the ear sections last and then just really blow dry it until it's dry like to blow dry it on cool air. Once it's dry, you just want to take your time and just you can use scissors or you can use a razor. It just depends um scissors, i like to use scissors when it comes to the ball cap method, because i noticed that i always cut myself with the razor trying to do this. So i just like to use the scissors and try to get it like as close to your hairline, but at least probably like a okay, maybe not an inch, probably like a half an inch from your hairline, because you're already going to kind of put the wig In front of this - and you don't want your wig close to your eyebrows, but you also want to make sure that you save space so there you also want to make sure you save space. So your wig is not like all the way down and on your edges and then once you get done, cutting it just go in with a little more gots to be spray just to um, secure and lay down the edges, because you don't want these little edges To be standing up because you will see them under your lace, so now you want to just put some foundation on your wig cap or bronzer. I like to use like a bronzer color. I just feel like that's best um, so, as you can see the scalp, the wig looks good, like you. Don'T really have to do that, much work to it. The only con i will say about this wig. It'S not a pre-plucked wig honey. So you have to pluck, pluck, like you, have to pluck into your life depending on it um and don't get me wrong. I like a pre-pluck wig, but i always pluck my wigs, even if it is pre-plucked i like to try my best to mimic my own hairline and i've been doing this for years, so i know where to pluck a little bit too much in some areas. I know where to put pluck a little longer in some areas, so i like to take my time and customize my wigs, what i like to do and what i feel like is best for beginners when i've taught people how to pluck is start in the middle. I like to pluck on my head um after i do the ball cap method, because it just allows you to see where you're plucking, how you're plucking, how much you're plucking and it allows you to really customize your hairline. So, as you can see, i'm like really plucking it and just really paying attention, and when you pluck, you want to pluck with long strokes, long strokes, it may take a while, but as you can see, you will get this like fresh permed edges look, and that Is how i, like my wigs so just take your time and really pluck it until you get your desired look, then i like to go in with the flat iron just to kind of lay everything down just so you can kind of see a little better and Then sometimes i just go in a little more. You just want to take your time when it comes to plucking right now, i'm just putting a little bit of mousse just to lay everything down, because you want to y'all almost burnt myself. You want to make sure that everything is kind of laid down so flat iron it as best as you can use a hot comb. That way you can see if you need to pluck any more before you actually lay it down. You really want to take your time when it comes to plucking and customizing that hairline before you lay it down, so to lay it down. I'M using ghost bun and i usually like don't, lay my hair down with um lace glue. I normally just use like a lace, spray or whatever, but i wanted this wig to stay on for a long time, so i'm just using glue. So what i like to do is put it like. Halfway on the ball cap and halfway off the ball ball cap, i notice, when you just put it on your skin, it doesn't last as long. I don't know why, but just you know just take it from me. I'Ve been doing this for years. So make sure some of the glue is on the ball cap and some of the glue is on your skin. It'S just going to allow the lace to have something to really stick to, and i did about four layers of this glue. I know people do to like three to five, but i did four layers of this and as soon as it gets clear is when you want to put another layer like as soon as it gets clear put another layer, don't wait until it completely dries to do Another layer because it's going to be extremely tacky and it's to, in my opinion, it's not. It becomes hard to work with so make sure like you're really watching this glue. I, like ghost bun, because i feel like it kind of dries quick, but since it does dry quick, you have to move fast and you have to really make sure that you're paying attention. So, as you can see, i am just adding another layer as soon as the last layer gets clear and i'm really just working that in and as you can see, i'm really bringing it back and really trying to cover a lot of surface this way. I don't have to do a lot of cleanups. I do not like to do a lot of cleanups when it comes to my lace, meaning i don't like to put my lace on and then have to go back and do like the little cleanups under the little lace - and i y'all ain't about that time. For that so right now, i'm just putting the wig down the one thing that i really love about this wig. It already has an elastic band in it. So it's going to be really tight on your head. I didn't have to use any of the combs. I didn't have to really use any other adjustable straps. It just really fit very securely on my head, and that is perfect, especially when you're using like the glue method. You really want to make sure everything is tight and secure. So, as you can see right now, i'm just pushing the hair back and just kind of pressing it. In with my comb. You will see at one point um some of the glue wasn't as dry, so it comes up a little white, so i've dealt with this situation a lot, so i know how to get over it. But if you're a beginner make sure the glue is clear. All the way around before you press it down, but of course i'm gon na. Let you guys know how you can fix that it's an easy fix so right now, i'm kind of just blowing it out. While that sits, you want to make sure like you let that sit, i almost like. Let it sit for maybe like 30 minutes before you lift it up like i. If you wanted to like really last and like be secure and be stuck to your head says just let it sit, you know just let it sit. Take your time call your man call your bestie call, whoever you need to call so right. Now, i'm just putting a little bit of concealer on the part um i already kind of just parted it out and flat iron it, as you can see right now, and i just put a little bit of concealer um i when it comes to lace wigs. I always like to go up a shade so or go darker, so i like to use like a concealer that i would like color correct with or - and i like to use like my bronzer shade for my lace, i notice when you try to get it too. Close to your skin tone, i noticed that it just looks weird um, so just go up a shade use like a contour color, that's not too dark and i feel like it just looks best that way. So right now, i'm just adding a little bit of layers. I used the razor first and then i went in with my scissors. I wanted to do long, soft layers um. I did a lot of this, so it may look like i was putting a lot of layers in it but um i like long soft layers, so you'll even see towards the end, how um, how the layers kind of was long and soft. It wasn't like really dramatic layers, because i don't like dramatic layers, but i do like to have some body when it comes to my wig. So that's what i did so right now. You can see i'm using like a little eyebrow razor now. This is a perfect time for you to use a razor when you go to actually cut your lace. Use a razor. Do not use scissors because you want that like jagged edge, that's what's going to make it look the most natural. If you use scissors scissors is just going to give you too much of like a precision cut it's going to be too much of a clean cut, so you want to make sure you're using like an eyebrow razor or just a razor. If you have it um, just anything, that's like jacket or rough like you can even use the razor that i was using to um do the layers. So when it comes to the ear uh tabs make sure you're going behind the hair. This is a problem that a lot of people have a lot of people have problems when they cut when it go. A lot of people have problems when it comes to cutting their ear tabs because they go through the hair. Do not go through the hair move. The hair out of the way and go behind the hair, as close as you can to your ear, so make sure you're going at a upward diagonal motion. That is the best way i can describe to get a clean ear tab and then make sure you kind of just clean up like the excess lace like i'm doing now, just try to make sure it's as close to your ear as possible. So, as you can see right now, i'm going up in a diagonal motion making sure it's behind my ear and then just cutting behind my ear. Do not try to go straight. Do not try to go down literally go up at an angle, like literally follow the natural angle of your ear. That'S the best way, um to describe it and just cut off the little excess any any little part. That'S like still hanging over your ear. That'S what you can kind of cut: try not to cut through the hair, because that's what makes it look just like wiggish, if that makes sense um if you're to do baby hairs on the side, make sure you pluck them, do not just go through and just Cut the baby, hair and swoop it and just live your best life. No, don't do that because it's going to look too thick and it's not going to look as natural as you want it to so make sure once you got these little pieces out, pluck them and thin it out and then you can cut them, i'm using scissors, But i did end up using a razor. I feel like a razor is the best way to cut like any type of baby hairs um. I just feel like it looks a little more natural that way, so definitely use razors, don't be. Like me, you'll see how i switched it up in a second and when you do these little like edges on the side, make sure you're cutting like at a downward angle, because you want it to look as natural as possible to lay down baby hairs. I like to use wax so the same, wax that i use on my natural hair to kind of pull back. My natural baby hairs is the wax that i use on wigs and i like to use the wax on wigs because i feel like it just helps. Lay your baby hair a little better and it's soft, because it's wax it's not edge control, it doesn't have water in it. It'S not really sticky. It'S literally just like a soft wax and i feel like i know some people use um like hairspray or whatever, but i like to use wax. I feel like it just adds a little shine to the hair. I feel like it looks natural, especially once you lay it down. Some of that shine goes away a little bit, so it just looks so natural to me. You guys will see like, especially at the end how natural it looks, and i feel like it still gives you that, like stickiness to kind of shape and mold the hair, without being like too shiny or greasy like edge control, if that makes sense so right now, I'M just really taking my time and kind of just customizing this hairline, as you can see like especially like right in the middle of this wig. You really don't need to add baby hair and i probably wouldn't have if i did like a middle part, but i just wanted a fun little side part. I haven't done a side part in so long. So you know side part, i feel like side parts with like a little bit of baby hair look the best, so i had to do a little sign sign. Okay, so, as you can see, i am plucking this other side and y'all. Look. It already looks so good and i'm not even done um. This wig like i, was really shocked by this wig, like the lace uh, the lace is so y'all. This lace is so good like. I think this is my first time yeah yeah. This is my first time working with hd lace. I'Ve worked with like translucent um lace, which is my favorite um, so i am really impressed by the quality of this lace and the quality of the wig. Um. Definitely try this wig out if you're looking for a new wig, because i was shook honey, i was shook so right now, i'm just adding a little bit of that wax like towards the edges, and you see that little like white area, where the glue wasn't dry. Um, we're gon na fix that so right when you do the baby hair, i'm just adding a little bit of gossipy for the little like fly away areas. I know some people like to go in with glue, but i don't think it's necessary. So, as you can see, i'm kind of just putting a little bit of that spray on top of that little white part, and that's just gon na like wet like make it wet and kind of just like sink it in some more so it kind of goes Away so i just want to tie that up and we're going to curl the hair, so i just wanted some pretty like kind of beachy light waves. So i like to do this little method where you like twist the hair um. It kind of gives you like straight curls and that's what i like, but it still allows your curls to be like super bouncy, so i feel like this method is just always i don't know. I just love this method. Um. If you guys seen when i had that, like blonde bob, i used to do this like method all the time it looks so good um, some of the pieces like once it's done, if it's too, like kind of crinkly, because sometimes if you don't do this right, The curls can come out crinkly, so sometimes, if it does, all you have to do is go back and like really do flat, curls like this, so as you can see it's like flat and then i'm kind of twisting it. So you really just want to take your time. It'S really um like a technique about it um, but it just creates the most beautiful curls and this hair curled really really well. Sometimes i've been working with wigs for a long time, sometimes um wigs, don't really hold curls or they don't really curl efficiently. But this wig, like the hair, as you can see me curling well me brushing it out. The curls were so bouncy in the hair. This hair was just so soft, so look.
