Adidas Terrex Swift R Gtx Laces Adjustment

How to fix / adjust the laces on Adidas Terrex Swift R GTX

Okay, what's up guys, so I wanted to make a video on what to do with your adidas Terrex, Swift R, when you get them, if you don't like laces. So if you watched my video review, my two and a half of the year review of these, you saw where I cut the laces, because it was really causing a lot of undue wear across the top of the foot. And I also didn't like how tight it would get. You know and kind of pinch, my toes so I cut the laces as a way to fix that, and it made a huge difference in how much I liked these shoes they are with without having the lacing coming across right. There they're just incredibly comfortable, so these are getting pretty worn out starting to wear through the tread here on the heel and they're, just they're really getting worn out. So you can see kind of a comparison. What the new tread looks like versus what I've got. So I wanted to get a new pair. These are still the first generation and there are a couple slight differences. They removed the adidas logo from here. They added at Eric's will go there and gore-tex has changed their logo as well. So there's a few slight differences, but overall it's the same shoe, but once I got these I started thinking about it. I really didn't want to cut my laces again. I didn't want to cut these loops and this gore-tex tab, and so I thought well, I'm just gon na kind of deconstruct this to see if I can figure out how to get this undone up here and that way I can get this lace out of this. Without having to cut anything, so I'm gon na show you guys how to do that. You'Re just gon na start out by taking this little bit of rubber and it bends back and just slide it down. And then you can see you've just got your laces knotted inside this little plastic housing, so you're gon na bring them out and you're just gon na untie these knots. My recommendation would be instead of trying to pull this out, because it's got a little piece of rubber on the end of it there. So, instead of trying to pull that out, actually work on pulling this up. So I don't know if you'll be able to see that or not, but that's kind of the approach that I'm taking is is given myself slack here and pulling this up and that's that's a lot easier. The first time I did it on these. I was just trying to pull it back through there and there's a lot more difficult, just go ahead and take this out. So one thing to keep in mind is you want to remember the order that these things go in as you're putting this stuff back together, because whenever I did it on my old pair, I actually ended up putting things back, not a hundred percent. I got a little carried away and tied one of these knots too soon before I got it in there and the first time I had forgot to put this black rubber piece back on. I just ran him through here and then put him back on this little housing, so I had to undo it then. So just gon na take care to pay attention that you get everything back on and in the order that it goes all right. So once you've got those undone and just try to be careful so that you so that this plastic stays on there, because once it comes off this stuff actually phrase pretty bad and I've tried melting it with a lighter and it does not do a great job. It doesn't melt like 550 cord wood, so just kind of be careful to keep these little plastic tips in good shape. This one doesn't want to come out here. We go all right, so what you may want to do with these three pieces is lay them in the order that you're gon na use them first, so lay that one there lay the rubber here, lay the little housing furthest away from you and then just go From near to far as you need things, whenever you are putting all that back together, the engine so you're just gon na make sure you push this up like you would just for tightening or loosening it just opens the channel, so be careful whenever you're tying this Knot accidentally, I tried to pull on this end whenever I was tightening it on my own shoes, and I accidentally pulled this piece of plastic off. So don't try to pull on that end to tighten it just push the knot forward, all right, so there you go so at this point, your license are gon na seem a bit long. It doesn't particularly bother me on these. I just wrap it around a few times whenever I run it through here and bring it down and back over just wrap it around a few times and tuck it back under, but anyway hope that helps so now you don't have to end up with this premature. Wear on the nylon, on top of your shoe and honestly, I think just not having the premature wear or my toes getting pinched. It takes these from just like a solid pair of shoes to a really good pair of shoes there to wear them like this they're. Just incredibly comfortable so anyway, I hope you liked the video, if you do, give it a thumbs up. You want to see more of my videos subscribe and I will talk to you later.

Clyde Cordero: Thank you for your step by step instructions. This greatly increased the comfort of my forefoot across the top of my toe area. I did not have to cut the laces as some have suggested. Instead I continued using the forward center loop (labeled Gortex) which reduced the slack in the lacing system without adding pressure.

Lauren: This was SO incredibly helpful. Our dog ate thru my boyfriends pair of laces and since he already had owned an old pair of these (well he’s got about 4 pairs actually lol) I decided to try and change out the laces from the old shoes. I def feel like I couldn’t have done this without you! Thank you for this video, it’s a huge help.

thespeedokid: Nice video! Great idea, the tightening around the toes was a bit of an issue. They definitely feel more comfortable now. Btw, I accidentally pulled off one of those plastic rings on the laces To fix it I pulled the gray sleeve back a little bit and pulled the inner white part out about a half of a cm and cut off the exposed white part. I then returned the sleeve to where it covers the inner part and then melted the tip with a lighter. It worked perfectly!Hope that helps!

Orlando Ferreira: Nice video, thank You. But in a tropical environment the long shoelaces are good for curling in the bush and falling every five steps. In this case I recommend to cut them short and seal up the tips with a lighter, as we do with paracord.

GreatGunhater: I wish I had scene this video 3 years ago. Finally I am wearing these shoes again Thanks mate for your efforts

bikerdan76: Another tip... you could probably only undo one side of the lace and pull it out until it is through the three bottom loops, then thread the side back through and finish it up. Hope that makes sense.

Cr: Appreciate it. The tightener that keeps the laces down wore down the lace and made it smooth, letting it slip and causing the shoe to loosen. Hopefully this is a fix. Much Obliged!

Alex Kong: Actually you just have to bring back to the shop and change , increase one(1) size for the exchange , and this only will supports your feet on uneven ground .

Is Az: To SAVE time just untie one side remove from the lace eyelets & adjust accordingly. Tie that side back. It takes way under 5mins per shoe.

Randy Scott: Anyone know where I can buy the the same diameter lace to replace? Looking for bright red.

Perolito: You can cut the ends of the laces to make them shorter dude, just remove the end piece, cut them, tie new knots and put it back together.

Roger Mash: I bought a size 10 instead of 9.5 and used regular laces. Not fond of those bungee laces.Nice vid though.Good to see the shoes have worn well.

1cleandude: Just got mine today; what insole did you use?  Thanks

MossGatherer11: You could trim the laces shorter instead of having extra to wrap around.

Leo: I'm thinking in buy a pair of this. Can you replace the elastic laces for normal/regular laces? I don't like elastic laces

Sean Myers: I really love my shoes got them in a limited red Lower, colour but up the front where my right toe is the lace is beginning to tear the gore tex what can I do I really like the front section loop?!

Денис: А можно ли распороть петлю резинки, которая не допускает спутывания шнурков lace bungee если эта резинка давит на ногу?

Oh. ItsLorenaxD: The laces cut in to the shoe on the left and right side go the goretex emblem not even walked 100 km in them

Nikhilesh Lenka: Good

mr lion: Nice one buffalo bill
