How To Fix A Lace Front That Is Stretched Out And Puckering So It Lays Flat! Use It Stays!

Stretched out lace fronts are a risk to wig wearing. Sometimes despite our best efforts, we can still experience lace the puckers (or buckles, which is TOTALLY the wrong description but I said it like eleventeen times in this video, lol) and we need a solution so we can still wear the wig. Well, for me, that solution is It Stays and it works like a CHAMP! I have even used it on a wig where the lace is fraying (my Belle Tress Lady Latte) and it works great for that as well.

Here is one of the types of It Stays* that I have used and like: https://amzn.to/2Whorh4

Hey everyone - I am here today to show you how I deal with lace, fronts that are buckling. I see this question all the time and it's just the reality of blaze front that happens at times, and so I just wanted to show you what I personally do to take care of that problem and it involves using it stays my tried and true it stays There may be other ways to deal with a buckling lace front. This is the way that I deal with it and it works great for me, and so I'm gon na demonstrate that with my orchid wig, so I I've noticed that orchid by Aesthetica is starting to buckle on me a little bit, not terrible, but using it stays. Just totally takes care of that, so let me put her on for you and I'll show you what I mean okay. So this is a kind of a different tutorial. It'S little I'm gon na little trial and error here to make sure that I can see what I'm trying to see. So, can you see right here how it's lifting up right there? It'S not doing that over here. It just doesn't right there. Let me see if I can zoom do you see that, and I know I'm touching the hair, but I'm really not lifting. So I'm not creating you get rid of that hair here. She just wants to buckle. That'S just I don't know if it's just you know we're, I don't know if it's um, I wasn't careful enough when I used it stays one time and, and I took it, make it back out again, okay, so anyway, so that's what she's doing so, I'm just Gon na use it stays, and I'm gon na tack that down and I'll show you how I do it so, first of all, I'm gon na roll on the it stays okay, just like I do. I do it a little bit on my forehead a little bit on my hairline okay, so I'm gon na put her on make sure all the hair is out of here. Just look behind my camera in the mirror. I'M gon na wear orchid today and when I noticed that buckling, I thought perfect opportunity to do this tutorial. Okay, so I've got hair, that's stuck so I'm just gon na take my rat tail comb and pull some of this hair. It'S wanting to get stuck in the it stays which sometimes happens. Okay, so now, when you get her situated and you've got time to do a justing with it stays, it doesn't just all this. It'S not like super glue. Okay, so now let me see if I can zoom back in, to really show you guys so now that's where the buckling was so what I want to do is I want to kind of make sure she's really. I want to pull so I'm pulling on the ear tabs down to flatten the lace. I'M gon na stick my finger on here and I'll take care of all that hair in a minute, but I'm and then I'm gon na press. So I'm pressing this way and this way press and then that way the lace is going to lay flat and then I'm going to take my washcloth because I get a little bit of it, stays below the lace and just make sure she's pressed down okay. So now I'm gon na look in the mirror. I may need to get closer to my mirror to make sure that I've got the hair where I want it to be, and then I'll just situate her. While I'm doing this, it's sort of setting up, you know the it's days is getting all set up in here and when I do this, I'm just feeling if any of the hairs are stuck in the lace and I don't feel any okay. So now, let's get back in on this and there is no buckle here. The buckle is gone because she's now been pressed. Do you see that so by pressing her either way? This way like this and then using my fingers to smooth it out, she is now adhered, go back up and there's no more buckle. I have done this with multiple wigs, not just this one. I have a girl mono that that happened with. Sometimes what I'll do is, I will take a pinking shears and I will cut the lace back a little bit. Let me show you that on my girl model, which just um leaves less lace to buckle, so you can see on my girl mono that she's got this scalloped edge. I just took a pinking shears to her. I will tell you that girl mono does seem to do that. I'Ve had that happen with a couple of girl models. I don't know if it's the lace that they use or if it's, how she fits on my head, it's really hard for me to say, but I have noticed that so cutting the lace back a little bit with the pinking shears could be a good option. I have done that with many ways. They do not fray. Jean Renault recommends doing with pinking shears with their wigs, and so I just tried that with others they even have a video out there on doing that. So I have had some people respond, that that is not recommended and it will cause fraying. I have not experienced that yet so, but you know everybody has to do what they're comfortable with anyway. So that's all I've got for you guys. I just wanted to show how you can lay down a lace, that's buckling and it stays works great for that this will stay all day until I remove her at the end of the day and like I've said in other videos, all I do is get my Washcloth wet and I just sort of not sopping wet, but enough that I can press on the lace and squeeze the washcloth and a little bit of water will come out. It will get the lace wet and then, if you let it sit for, for me, it takes less than 30 seconds I'll, be able to lift that lace up. But if it still feels like it's sticking, maybe you put it back further on your hairline. So it's sticking your hair just take a little more water and that will release that it stays it with no problem. So let me know if you guys have questions. I hope this was helpful if you have other tips on this topic if you've dealt with this and you've got other solutions, put them in the comments, let's share with each other. I know people read these comments and actually I'm trying to get more people to engage in the comments, because that's where all the help can happen thanks for watching you guys and have a great rest of the day. I'Ll talk to you soon.

TheMyost: Awesome, Denise! Thank you! I've got one that I have to use tape AND 'IT Stays' in order to keep it from buckling. Next step, I think, is to add a stitch where the lace meets the cap/ ear tab to keep it "taught". Have you repaired or dealt with one that stubborn?

Karen Fox: Hi Denise: I always learn from your wig reviews. I had the same problem with my lace fronts. I notice you do not usually use a wig grip or cap. I’m having the worst problem keeping my wigs secure. I have bio hair and I’ve tried everything. The only thing that comes close is using It Stays. It was helpful to see how you place the It Stays on your skin and hair. I will give that a try. Thank you and keep these reviews coming.

Sunshine Osborne: My girl mono does the same thing. This was super helpful, thank you so much!!

Doodica: Nice tip. I love It Stays! That is a great look on you too!

Queenie: I love this ! Thank you

Geri Weyer: Thank You Denise, Very Helpful Video! Stay Healthy out there!

Sandi Newton: Absolutely, this is helpful!

Karen McGill: Thank you so much! Now my Cameron Lite lace lies flat and looks perfect.

Amy: Thanks Denise for the tip. All my lace wigs buckle like that, so it must just be our head shapes.LOL Question, how long does it take for the "It's Stays" to dry? I've seen where some video's where the ladies wait until it starts to get tacky, before they put on their wigs. Again, Thanks for your tips!!!!☺

DeadInside: I did pinking sheers on my new wig today and used ghostbond, laid in sections and absolutely hate it lol I’m used to doing got to be glued method. From what I’ve learned it’s the way the lacefront is constructed when it’s made on a machine it’s pressed flat. I’ve heard to cut the front into 3 sections to give it more roundness to fit the head shape and less buckle and I’ve heard that full lace wigs that are very expensive have these little triangles on the lace construction in the back by the wefts that will help with the roundness of the face. It’s hard for me to explain I’m very new to this. My hair started falling out big time over the last two years and wigs have become a huge confidence booster much love to you!!

Michaela: Hi there. Very informative video. My problem is that I'm struggling to find full lace wigs in good quality what are blonde. Feeling like market is more focused on dark skin girls and not much transparent laces on the market unless you pay 1000s of dollars ‍♀️

Margaret Tassey: That is my technique as well. Girl mono buckled on me as well and when I Googled I found it was a common issue. So not just you. Thanks for the video.

Christine von Pander - Income Streams: Hi Denise, what do you do when your wig starts to stretch out after washing? Is there a way to shrink it back down or ?? Thanks!

Gavriel Perlman: Dors the lace become tacky over time due to the it stays? Do I need to clean the lace underneath after each use of it stays?

Sharon L: This is exactly how my Turn is. I’ve been using Got2B glued, but even then it won’t stay down. I don’t have any pinking shears at the moment so I may try using my fine hair cutting scissors

Christine von Pander - Income Streams: Next question, how to fasten in the metal tab for the temple tabs? One of mine has popped out at the top. Thanks!

LisaKate: How do you cover/conceal the dark knots?

Christine James: Perfect timing, I have a new wig that the lace lifts a little.I also want to say on your new camera.

Dawn Chiaravalli: Just what I was looking for, I thought my wig was a gonner!

Terry Duani: thank you.,. question. I have a lace wig thats too small... is there a way to stretch it bigger

Tracy Conabeer: I'm liking your new camera....the close up is amazing

Kathleen Simonds: One of mine is doing this as well.

Jennifer Moore: Have you used the "Jobst" it stays brand? If, so is it as good as the body adhesive brand? Thanks.

Alecia Latimer: Where do you purchase the It Stays??

Terri Simonsson: My girl mono id frayed & somewhat frizzy in the bangs & I Hate That it looks bad so I don't wear her anymore. Unfortunately I've only worn her 3 or 4 times so I'm very frustrated. Do you have any advice for the frizzy bangs? Thank you for everything
