Child ain't, nothing going to change around you. If you don't change it and you don't say: okay, what do you do? What it do back again coming through? Who that is that ain't, nobody, but sumitsu about to do a little bit of a different type of do so. You guys know that i have given you makeup for such a long time, nothing but makeup videos. I have stayed true, tried and true to doing makeup. Videos, but i kind of want to switch things up a little bit. You know i want to talk about stuff that are important to me and you know, as you can tell from the title of this video, this video is all about trying to uplift you during these difficult times, i've shared with you guys a little bit of my Backstory, my history, but i've never really shared with you, how i stay motivated and driven. You know, and i think it's a conversation that needs to be had in the beauty, community or any community for that matter, to switch things up on my channel. I kind of want to incorporate self-care mental care into the conversation. We need to get the discussion rolling because you know what we are living in some seriously hard times and not everybody is able to stay motivated or you know, just have a positive outlook on life right now so yeah, that's, i kind of want to throw this In here, when it comes to self-care, there is the external and the internal. So today i kind of want to touch a little bit on both mostly the internal. The internal is very, very important if the internal is not taken. Care of nothing externally will work. Okay, so, even though i want to switch up things on the channel, we still have to get these sponsors in, and i hope you don't mind that, because you're gon na pay these bills. Okay, so i work from home. This is my job. You see what i'm saying, but i still want to give you guys exactly what you come to this channel for and more so today's hair is sponsored by in color wigs, and i want to thank them for sponsoring this video. So for all the information on this unit make sure you check the description box down below. I will run a clip of me prepping the hair, styling, the hair and all of that, and then we're going to come on back and get right back on into this discussion. Okay, so make sure you check them out, love interrupted by tragedy, lost trying to find her place perception for the winter, but she ran to the west side and though much was stolen, much still a pie tonight i know she'd rather keep a distance, but as time Moves on she's, drifting away, drifting away from me, but did the ocean breathe, breathe, take my hand, but you ran to the west side and though much was stolen, slipping away from me, but did the oceans pacify you did the palm trees yeah so thanks to them For sponsoring this video remember, all the information for this unit will be down in the description box. This is a very fun and playful. You know unit and the possibilities are endless. I decided to go for a style like this, because it is a closure and i didn't want to stick it down and i wanted a little bit of an afro. You saw i'm saying just so. It'S just something a little bit different. You get i'm saying bomb. Diggity - okay! Yes! So shout out to them for sponsoring this video during this covid pandemic time, i have seen that the depression rate and the suicide rate has skyrocketed, especially living here in japan. I don't know if you guys are aware of this, but here in japan they have always had a high depression, suicide rate, and now it has kind of like tripled the numbers of what it used to be. So i feel, like you know, if this video can just help one person out there, then you know that would just you know something. I know you guys always tell me that my makeup videos and stuff, like that, really help you and you know it kind of - puts you in a good mood and stuff like that. But if my videos, if this video, can really help someone to kind of get out of the funk that they're in then that is what i am here for now, one of the things that i will say that has helped me to stay motivated and to kick The funk of any kind of you know sadness or depression that i might be going through is to have a routine and to stick to it. This is going to take a lot of discipline. It is not going to come overnight, you are not. Rome was not built in a day so take time with yourself and baby steps. Baby steps are so important. Don'T go diving into this if this is not something that you are used to doing, okay, so have a routine sit down and think the type of person you are your personality and so forth and build your routine around the things that you want to do, and So forth, okay, whenever i am able to stick to my routine, i find that i am a lot more happier and i feel a lot more accomplished and i feel like i've reached some form of goal, and i noticed that whenever i don't do my routine or If i fall off, that's when sadness and depression and the moodiness will start to kick in so having a routine is very vital to getting back on your feet. You know kicking the funk getting out of the rut that you feel that you're in and to my mother's out there. I know it is difficult. You know you have your kids and you have your husband and so forth. Girl get everybody on a routine and let them know you mean business. Okay, when it's sleep time is sleep time. You don't want to hear nothing. Okay, and if there's grown kids every man for themselves after a certain period of time, don't be up slaving away. Teach them responsibility that way. You can allow yourself to have some free time. Okay, you need to train your kids. You need to get them on a routine and you need to kind of teach them how to take care of themselves too. Okay, because it's just healthy so getting everybody involved in this new lifestyle will also help you to feel a lot better, and not only will it help you, it would also help them, because this routine is great for everyone. Okay, now this next one i am guilty of, but i have been doing a lot better. I'Ve been doing a lot better for a long time actually and that's to kind of distance myself from social media. You need to social media detox. You need to put the phone down. You need to give it a break social media ain't going anywhere, anything that's out there. It ain't going nowhere child, instead of you being up just chasing after all of these posts and yada yada. Let everything wait on you when you get to it, you get to it. Okay. Now social media detox is important for several reasons. If you're on social media all the time, you don't even realize that you're being programmed to think a certain way. You know, through the eyes you are being programmed to think a certain way to behave a certain way. You know people have committed crimes and modified themselves simply by what they see on social media. So taking a break from social media is crucial, vital to your mental health, to your mental state of mind, take the break. Okay! Now don't get me wrong, i'm not saying you must never be on it, but limit yourself, maybe do our hair and for the next three hours or four hours or so you're doing something else, give yourself a break and that's another thing. I'Ve spoken about it before, like on my my makeup, videos and stuff like that, but i feel like i need to make a video about it. You so i'm saying put the phone down at night: okay go to bed! Okay! I know social media keeps people up. Okay, you're just laying there it's comfortable and you can just scroll and scroll and scroll and scroll and the scrolling is never ending okay, so you need to limit yourself. You need to limit what you're letting into your mind. You know because that stuff really brings you down. You know and another thing stop looking at social media and influencers as your your goals set your own goals because nobody's perfect. Okay, we all edit our pictures, because in real life nothing is perfect, so social media has allowed us to be artistic and to you know it's where we can post our best self. Now people post the drama too, but the majority of people are only posting. The perfect time - and it's not realistic, you know so a lot of people start to envy. I want this life. I wish my life was like this, and what that does is it makes you sad and it you know, makes you depressed so distance yourself from social media and also have a realistic look on social media, and this is something you also need to teach your kids. Okay, because kids are really being raised by social media nowadays, because parents are tired - and you know they don't want to put in the effort of you - know, spending time with their kids talking to their kids and so forth, distance yourself from social media. This is something that is going to benefit you in the long run. Now for someone like me, social media is a tool. I absolutely love social media. Social media has a lot of benefits to it, but if it's not utilized in the right way or if it's not, you know, if i'm not, you see what i'm saying. What is the word? Should i let me be forgetting english but um? Okay. For me, it is a job and i utilize it as inspiration and also for my leisure time. You know down time. I love that, but i never once looked at anybody on social media and i want that life because honey behind the scenes. You don't know how that is making this money, you don't know how they are getting these things. Okay, the trip to dubai is real, so distance yourself from social media and teach your kids how to give them a better understanding of social media and how they should view social media and that they shouldn't take it literally. You see what i'm saying because, like i said, people are doing all sorts of things because of the influence of social media, so you need to have a healthy outlook on social media as well as distance yourself, so you're distancing yourself from social media. What do i do with my time? What do you mean what you do go outside go outside get some outside activities going on in your life. I know put on your sunscreen. Don'T worry about the sun rays right now: okay, we're talking about inner health. Go outside, get some fresh air, go for a walk ride, a bicycle! If you like, skating, go skating even if it's just to go, sit in the park and listen to the birds, chirping butterflies, you know whistling through the trees or whatever it is, get outside. Stop isolating yourself and just locking yourself up inside you something go outside, go and get some vitamin d. The sun is so important for us. You know, god put it there to benefit mankind to benefit the animals to benefit the earth. Why are you running from it? Put on your sunscreen and go outside okay? Yes, if you're able to go to the beach go to the beach go and look at the ocean, maybe you see a fish jump. I don't know okay, but get out of the house. Get up put the phone down and go outside, get the kids involved. Take them to the park, teach them to put down the phone. I can't i'm. I i'm stressing that a lot, but i do see. I know it's hard for parents, i'm not knocking parents, for you know like the things that they have to do to provide their for their family you. So i'm saying i know it's hard. I know it's difficult, but you got to take this little extra step. You know in sheltering your your child's brain, you know that it may develop in a right way. Take them outside get them outside, get them in the sandbox, make them play with other kids. You know, of course you want a social distance, i'm saying, but go outside. Go for a ride, go for a hike, you know, exercise walk walking is so important. Exercise is so important. You, maybe you don't want to get to the gym if you're. Like me, okay, start small, like i said, rome was not built in a day. Take baby steps, the easiest thing for you to do is just go for a walk on your block. Get your little friend or whoever you something and go for a walk. Go out, get some fresh air. This you're exercising and you're clearing your mind, you're getting in the fresh air, it's good for your joint, it's good for your body like there's so many benefits and just simple plain old walking. You get what i'm saying. People have literally let social media and all of the electronics rob them of your. You are you're making it rub. You of your life, get out. Okay, get out, that's one of the things that is contributing to you being depressed and sad and so forth. You got to get a little bit of activity, you know what i'm saying and i'm not talking about walking on the treadmill inside the house go outside go outside another thing i want to talk about, and this might also seem minuscule but get up and get ready. Maybe you're not going to do things, and you know in the order that i'm talking about you see what i'm saying, i'm just talking about certain things that you can do to really help you. You know fight your depression or feeling sad or feeling hopeless. During these times, because i know it's really rough right now - it's a rough situation, but one thing that i will say is get up, take a shower and get glam. You don't have to get glam glam use what i'm saying but take a shower, get ready use. I'M saying put on some cute matching sets for the house comb, your hair. When your hair is nice and tidy, you feel good, you something you don't have to do. A full beat just do some light makeup, something to just carry you through the day, but i find that when i look good and i use something when i look good, i feel good and i tend to want to kind of do more things like tackle more Things i feel like i feel antsy like i want to do stuff. I need to get this done. You see what i'm saying, but if i'm just laying there in the house, you know i'm in the bed. I ain't doing nothing. I'M just watching show after show. After show after show, nothing is being accomplished. The day has completely flown by me, and here i am a failure. Get up, get dressed, take care of yourself and that's another thing that i want to implement in this channel is some self-care. You know things that you can do to make yourself feel good. You know there's a lot of things that go into self-care, but even if you're not going anywhere, i would suggest that you get up and take a shower start your day. Comb, your hair, do a light. You know wash up makeup. It really helps just don't sit there and do nothing and feel hopeless. Like child ain't, nothing going to change around you. If you don't change it, you don't say okay. Another thing that is very very important is having a healthy lifestyle having a healthy diet plan and that might sound crazy. You said i'm saying, but when you eat good, you feel good. Okay, i'm guilty of eating some junk back to back back to back back to back, i'm not saying that you can't have it! I'M not saying you can't have the pizza, the burger and the fries and stuff, but put some vegetables in there drink a little bit more water. You get what i'm saying because tell me: am i lying when you sit and you eat a huge meal and the meal was good going down, but after a while, you feel sluggish, you feel lazy. Now, if you eat that at 12 o'clock, if you eat like that by 12 o'clock - and you feel tired and you feel grumpy - you see i'm saying, but if you eat something a little bit more lighter by 12 o'clock, you see what i'm saying at 12 o'clock For lunch time, or whatever it's going to give you a little bit more energy to do stuff so having a healthy diet plan is also very beneficial to you know, kick in the funk and, like start to switch things up a little bit. Do some juicing get into juicing stuff, like that, like just switch it up a little bit instead of eating the same heavy stuff all the time, because that's also contributing to the depression and the sluggishness you're not going to accomplish anything so get a healthy diet. Do something get up, you know, make it happen. You feel me now this next thing i am not good at because especially well, i'm not i'm not going to say i'm not good at it. I just do it in short terms. I do it by the day and that's the schedule and have a planner some people like to plan out the whole month. I can't do it. Some people like to plan out the whole week. I can't do it for me, simple old. What am i doing today and i like to do this whenever i'm having my coffee you so i'm saying, because it it don't, take nothing like the brain works quickly. So i'm saying what am i doing today write it down, tackle it, get to it. Okay, another time that i like to do, it is also like right before i'm going to bed. It'S going to be the last thing that i think like what am i supposed to, especially if it's something that i need to have done. I'M gon na write it down like the night before that way. I don't forget is what i'm saying, but most of the time it's in the morning, i'm writing down my day. I, what am i gon na do today, and this really helps you know with the routine. It helps with you know, keeping you on track. That way, you don't feel lost and if you're like me and you work from home more than likely, your planning is going to look a little bit different. You know compared to the person who has to go out and you know, go out into the world for their job you so i'm saying, but whatever it is, write it down, even if it's as simple as this particular time, i'm going for a walk. This particular time i'm feeding the dog this particular time, i'm cooking lunch. Is it the laundry like whatever it is, just write it down, because it will help you to be a lot more successful and they kind of keep you on track and once you do those things and use and check them off, and once you check them out For the day you feel accomplished, you feel, like you did what you're supposed to do and that's a good feeling if you're like me, don't go and try to plan the whole entire month. Okay, the only thing that i plan for the whole entire month is my sponsorships, but in between things that are important to me and things that are for me, i kind of do that day to day you. I just find that it's a lot easier and a lot simpler and you don't need no big fancy. Planner just get yourself a little book and write down from six to nine o'clock. Whenever you decide, you want to finish your day and just fill out the time slots and just stick to it and you're good to go planning is very important. Okay, the plans of the diligent will lead to success. Okay and last but not least, at the end of every day, whatever it is, that helps you to unwind. Do that if it's watching your favorite show, if it's reading a book you know get back into reading books, people reading is good. Reading is fundamental. Okay, get back into reading books, go to the library, get a book whatever, whatever whatever, but at the end of the day, find time to unwind for yourself, okay, get all of the the day's worries and whatever it was the days gunk off of you take a Shower take a nice bath, you know whatever it is, lay out your clothes for the next day. You know you're doing that you something that also goes into planning, but give yourself that leisure time give yourself the treat, don't just be rigid, and you know with yourself, don't be rigid with yourself give yourself some flexibility, because this will also help you to do this. In the long run, because if it's not, if you're not having fun and if you're not enjoying it, it's not going to be successful. Okay, i love to watch shows and i love to watch like comedies. I love the parkers. You know recently. I got a vpn that was this. That is my new favorite thing before that it was friends and big bang theory like light-hearted stuff right before bed. Okay, it's all about scheduling yourself, because during the day sometimes i do watch a movie. So i'm saying so, it's give and take you got to give and take with yourself, okay, but find times to unwind to just to shut down the brain. To just give your mind a rest whatever it is. Do that? Okay, i hope you guys enjoyed this video. You know i just really wanted to talk about some self-care things, some mental health and so forth, and i think i'm going to keep this in here, because i really do i i actually enjoyed sitting here talking to you. You know i'm saying i i'm surprised that i found so many words to be honest with you, because all i do is talk about makeup and how to apply makeup so um yeah, but do these things you know. I hope this video really helps somebody out there. That'S all it's really about yeah. So if it is your first time here go ahead, subscribe join the tribe coming in. We are a happy bunch. I am savannah silver. I hope you like the vibe come on in follow me on all of my social media platforms. Danita Lambert: Savannah YOU GOT THIS RIGHT!!! This is why your blessings are visible to your fan base, you keep it real on the Good, Bad and The Ugly. Mental, Physical, and Emotional, Health is so so important for everyone in these troubling times. God Bless You!

KryssiMartelli: Thank you for taking the time out to also encourage us :) We appreciate you

Nacole Lashoun: You’re videos have been like therapy for me this past year. During my darkest times, I would play you at night in order to sleep. I truly thank God for you. You’re story and survival gives me hope. You have been a blessing!❤️

Ohhhlolo: Very important topic!!! This conversation is continuously needed...thanking you for speaking on it. Helps me know I’m not alone, it’s a struggle for all of us

Audreydee74: Hey Sumi, this unit is bomb & versatile... loving the color! Good stuff... awesome advice for today! Self discipline is much needed . Be well❤️

Nikki W: Girl you are a god send today because I have been feeling a type of way that I just want to throw my hands up and quit. Thank you for being so thoughtful

MsStephers: Love you. This was what I needed for motivation. I had gotten back into a healthy routine, but had started losing my motivation to shake things up a bit creatively the last 2 weeks. Thank you for the push. Be well.

Tiffany Allen: I can’t tell you how much I needed to see this, I’ve been battling anxiety and panic attacks for a while due to others. Self care is so so important and I’m finally taking care of me. Thank you and keep these videos coming….much love

Chiquis J: LOVED LOVED LOVED this video! Thank you for taking time and putting it together and share it with all of us!! I needed to be reminded of how important is SELFCARE and wellness - Thank you!

kenny Pryce: Thank you so much. This is indeed a great direction for your channel. I envision you getting experts to share at some point too. May God bless your efforts. He knows your heart and will reward you. Have a fabulous week ahead and I appreciate you more than you know

mizz2ts86: Sumi...sis you spoke directly to my life! Now that my kids are out for summer break I can definitely get into a routine for myself! Thanks for this! I really needed this! I recently retired from the military and getting back into the swing of things especially during this pandemic has been HARD! Thank you so much! ❤❤❤

Teresa J: Thank you for the encouragement ‼️ My favorite is the planning day by day! I used to try and plan out a month, or weeks at a time but never lasted long term. Will definitely try that! Day by day planning✅ BTW- Gorgeous as usual

Certainly Cee Caldwell: Hi Savannah you're gorgeous today. Especially the color hair and makeup it's you all day!!! The topics you addressed are the things in life that people like me are lacking. The pandemic has played a major role for me being in a slump all day. Watching movies afraid to leave the house. Not knowing when or when not to leave the house. Now it's time to walk shed a few pounds. Breath some fresh air and get dressed as much as possible. Thank you for the sincere words if encouragement. It's been a minute but I'm willing to start.

Tmac1963: Savannah, this conversation is much needed for me! This past year I’ve just mostly sat around. I’m a reader, I’ve read every day since I was 6 years old. But I just recently made myself get back to reading like I use too. Watching videos and playing games and shopping isn’t doing it for me. I don’t feel good emotionally, it’s like life is just passing by and nothing meaningful is happening. I don’t think I’m depressed, but I definitely not at my best and I’ve blamed it on the shutdown, but what I’m taking from this video is that there’s always something I can accomplish. Thank you!

Quitnie Burch: Hey girl, what i can say is creating a schedule has helped my day to day in many ways. And i help my boyfriend run a business from home, i used to always check my social media and would make the simplest mistakes that caused issues down the line. I can also say distancing from social media does help with focusing with getting stuff done. I sometimes think about the influencers i follow or random people from reels and their life. I make a game out of it sometimes but i know not to compare my life to theirs. And i gotta say being nature is key. Getting out of the house every night just to take a drive out to the mountains is good enough for me ever since lock down iv'e gotten used to it. My bby got sick at a park 2 weeks ago with a bug so we are sticking to baseball fields, trails, etc. Love this Savannah

T Matt: I swear you have been a sunshine through this pandemic. With so much negativity on social media and the news, you are a breath of fresh air. I have been practicing self care: eating healthy, working out outside and reducing my electronic usage. I must say it has greatly improved my depression. Whether the makeup or the chats, you bring such a positive vibe and I love it

Charlese Mckeithen: Thank you sumi for making this video I haven’t been in the best mental space the last couple of weeks. It’s been getting better day by day but this definitely helps me too.

Toni Leeks-Lee: This is a much needed topic to have a discussion on. Thank you for taking time out to uplift, inspire, and encourage us to do better, and feel better. This can help so many, but I it helped me so thank you..you gave great examples that I'm going to implement.

Mental DTOX: I really like this video Savannah and the lil gifs! Regardless of Covid we all feel low from time to time and need some motivation. I definitely need to make an effort whether I'm going out or not and having a routine would give me something to focus on. I say more videos like this!!

Zari Fleming: Sumi!!! I’m going through post grad anxiety and I feel like I’m not doing enough, but this helped a lot. I really appreciate the advice! ❤️

Ali B: I’m really loving this! Listen another really good tip I have implemented is writing a TO DO LIST! I write stuff and check them off when I accomplish that goal! It really help instead of trying to figure out on the top of my head to do.

Sasha Matamoros: I’m ABSOLUTELY SHOOK WITH THIS LOOK !!!! ❤️it’s gorgeous on you ! I can’t wait to get this unit and try to duplicate this look and the color is a vibe I’ve been rocking this color lately.. thanks for your message too I’m going through a depression myself thanks for the uplifting !!

Christa Marie Lifestyle: Thank you for this chat , it was much needed. And I love that you incorporate this on your channel.

❄️Naturally Kool🌬️: Love this. Thanks for the reminders and encouragement. Have a blessed day on purpose

Cretia's Corner: Thank you so much for sharing good words my sister. You truly made a light bulb glow in myself. I'm going to get my life in order and get a routine started but, first spend some time with God and his words and everything else will follow. Keep your sunshine sweetie and God bless you always.

K Martin: So true Savannah! We all have a lot on our plates (so to speak) and this is very true and wise advise! We need a rest from stress! Thank you Savannah! ♥️

Sarah L. TV: Yessss this is so positive and uplifting to hear!! These things make you feel so much better. I'm going to go on a walk soon! Listen to some music. Love, love this content

Roberta McCullum: Thank you . Well said . We all need a wellness checkup and cleanup reminder , more now than ever before or goals . Much love

Natalie TSM_05: I truly love this video! It is so, so needed today! People are so hungry for encouragement and support! People are hurt deep down on the inside and need to heal! This is Beautiful! God's grace and favor shine upon you, your family, and your brand continually in abundance☦

Lady Kingsrey: I have been looking for this video on the low every since you did that video on you being triggered...you showed such strength in a difficult and complicated subject. I am so glad that you are taking the time to help us out, I do not take it for granted

J C-S: Just what the doctor ordered! So encouraging. Thank you for taking to time to share - appreciate it. ❤

Claudia Andrews: Oh wow I really enjoy this sit down - please continue you can even do some cooking videos! We are here for it all! How come this was the first time I see someone using rods on a curly wig! It looks amazing

Karen Holland: Beautiful....just beautiful. A much needed video. I am currently detoxing from social media because it's just been toooooo much going on! Me and my daughter just go for drives, go out get a good meal and sit in the park or near the water. We were going stir crazy and had to get out. The sun feels good. Thanks for this video. Your beautiful inside and out. ❤✌

Lady Bug: First of all the Glam look is all that and a big bag of chips sis:-). But this video was much-needed especially in the community of women like myself who don't work and are at home taking care of the house and the hubby and everything else. Totally appreciate you taking time to do this

My Grandis Life: Thank you for these encouraging words. I appreciate your time and love for us. May GOD continue to bless you and your family.❤️

honeycaramel13: My Cousin Sumi being the Goddess she is. You have gotten me through abuse, gave me the strength to finally leave, now HEALING!! You don’t realize how much a makeup tutorial can change a life. You changed my life! I am forever grateful.

Darryl Canty: Love the wig, choose positive friends , up building people, my husband had a cousin that use to come over to the house all the time, as soon as he hit the door, don't ask how he's doing, here comes the problems, I would go in another room in my own house so I wouldn't hear him, he brought that pity me attitude in our space that just ruin the mood, i couldn't take it no more, so we sat him down and really TALKED to him, that mess rubs off on others, things got better, tell yourself I'm going to have a GOOD DAY, Oh yes reading is good, don't forget to read the Bible, the Bible is so,, so practical in this day and age, talk to JEHOVAH GOD, call on his name, where I live is lots of parks and beaches, just look out in the ocean and just lose yourself , admire God's creativity, and give him Thanks an credit, thanks sis for the advice , wish one day we meet in person and have tea time or something stronger, take care sweetie

ZimFab: I seriously needed this. Thank you sis . More videos like this pleaseeeeee!!

ZimFab: I've watched your videos from way back when, talking 2010. Love the new switch up sis! This was much needed and I'm here for it ❤️

Alicia Williams-Julien: Thank you for always being so positive and encouraging us
