In this tutorial, i am going to show you some ways i use accessories. I have let my hair grow out and that, coupled with the density, i need some easy style options once it's washed and set it stays that way, but sometimes after a few days, i need a little something to keep it cute on all these zoom calls running Errands and to hide the swell and frizz, so here are some of the ways i restyle using accessories. My easiest go-to is a headband grace. O'Leary is a black-owned accessories brand for textured hair. I do opt for edge gel when wearing these because they don't grip. The hair - this is one that i'm working on for you all and will be along soon, but remember with any edge gel you use, make sure you are applying to edges free of oil or oily product so that they can properly adhere to the hair. I like these hard headbands because they have structure, but they are expandable and comfortable for all-day wear. They come in a lot of beautiful colors and the material is soft and smooth to prevent any snagging of hair. They are also very easy to spot clean with a damp cloth, and just a touch of shampoo when needed. Red by kiss makes these extra long, 60 inch satin scarves, with just a bit of stretch in various prints and colors that are perfect for making wrap styles. Like i said, i love a good headband and this wrap method i like to do lets me, keep my hair out of my face and lift it off my neck a bit, and i also don't have to worry about what my edges are doing. Sometimes i just need to run out the door for some errands and i am not interested in doing anything. So i can gather my hair and pull on my grace ali. A satin, lined ball cap and be out. This cap is very soft and flexible, with satin lining to protect hair from friction and drying, and it has an adjustable band for comfortable fit. I love a good half up, half down style and clips like these are great for gathering hair. At the crown i find clip and beretta accessories all over really sally beauty, nordstrom rack, marshalls target. I just keep an eye out and grab ones. I like, when i see them. Scrunchies are a major part of my accessories collection. They are easy to use, they don't get tangled in my hair and they don't snap and break open on the pull through like traditional ponytail holders can do, plus i can just toss them in the washer i like to use scrunchies for a half bun, because it's Less tension and easier for me to install - and i can add a little pop of color. If i want, i just pull through one and a half times wrap and tuck the remaining hair and situate it. A full scrunchie bun is always a go-to for me towards the end of the week, because it's fast and easy, this is intended to be a less structured, more casual, look that doesn't create uncomfortable tension. In my scalp i will usually mist a little water and add some mono's hair curl styling potion to make my hair more pliable and easier to brush and smooth. I start with misting my hair to reactivate the gel, that's already in my hair from the wash and go i started the week with this allows me to restyle without adding too much additional product. I will use one or two scrunchies to secure this by wrapping and tucking no bob pins for this one. The other type of bun i like to do is a more structured neatly, wrapped top bun, where i separate my hair into sections twist and secure with pins. I like to use mono's hair curl primer to make the sections more pliable and easy to wrap tame the frizz and add a little shine back into the hair. Sometimes i will add some clips for a little extra flair and drama. If i want to make my structured bun a little more elevated, something i like to do is intertwine a cute scarf for a little extra oomph. This also works well for formal events and nights out. I am using one of the red by kiss 60 inch, stretchy, satin scarves, folded and tied at the base of my ponytail from here. I will divide my hair into two sections and use one half of the scarf per side and a braid wrap both sections and secure with pins. I hope these styles gave you some ideas and inspiration. Finding ways to extend the life of your set style will help. Keep you from fully restyling or retwisting hair every day, which means less manipulation and less breakage. I would love if you could make a video dedicated to this topic. I am at a real crossroads with my finely textured curls. I can't seem to find a regimen that isn't too clarifying all the time, but also not too moisture heavy. I think there are a lot of us fine hair curlies out there looking for info suited to us. Would appreciate it!
