Have fun with your hair!

Christina xx

Hi there I'm Christina from Harrow men's and today we're going to talk about curly, hair and headbands. I thought I'd do a few easy hairstyles you can do with this simple accessory. Let'S get started now growing up. There was only one way to wear a headband. You put the sides and at the front, and you pushed all your hair back and while you can still do that now, there's a few more kind of more flattering ways to wear it and with curly hair. It'S never as simple as just sort of pushing it back. I always think it's a good idea to decide how you, like the front of your hair, to sit and then place the headband in to really fix the hair style. The hair most of these style of headbands are more decorative they're, not really there to hold your hairstyle. If you want to do that, construction underneath with some bobby pins and then the hair bed is the finishing touch to add more detail and a little bit of fanciness to a really simple style. So star number one: I'm going to use this simple black velvet, hair band and we're just gon na place it in our style, leaving some layers out around the front. So you want to decide how much of your hair you want around your face and for me, I'm gon na go to sort of just before my ears, leaving out this much hair. That'S the section! It'S what I like, but really this is entirely up to you, but if you want to guide sort of around all the hair before your ears, that looks kind of good and then have a play, maybe more maybe less and now with those layers for it. You'Ve created space for your headband to stick and then what we're gon na do is actually just in that gap place it there and the same on the other side and then connect that hair again over the top. And this way you've got the detail of the headband, but you still have some fun layers out around your face. The way you like your hair to sit. If you decide that you get sick of pulling your hair off your face, you can take a bobby, pin and I'll show you what to do lightly twist. These layers back and pin them in place just behind that gives you fill the headband hidden in that's totally secure, it's not going to move, but it keeps those layers off your face and you can do that on the other side as well, just by twisting and Pinning it in place, you can also do an updo with your headband and I'll show you a really simple way. You can do a curly, bun or a curly twist and pin up two and then add your hairband into that as well. So for this style, I'm going to leave a few pieces that are at the front just these shorter layers, not as much as when I'm leaving my hair out, but I am gon na place a headband in the same spot now, and so I've got my headband In and we're gon na hide the little ends of the headband and just cover up the tops of our ears by taking those other layers back and leaving those just the layers we want out at the front now here's what he can do anything you like with His style, you can do it just a simple ponytail twist it around into a messy bun or what I think I'm going to do for this one is create a double bun by splitting my hair in half just going to do a loose twist around leaving the Ends out so it's a little bit messy and pinning that in place and then I'm going to repeat, on the other side, almost creating a sort of pretzel shape and pinning that button in place and then I'll just use up here and just to connect the buns Together the reason I would like to do these double bun styles is that they split the weight of your hair, so they're really comfortable to wear, and they don't need a lot of pins to stay up. I'M not even sure how this one looks at the back. I'M gon na pop one walking in here because it feels like it's sticking out there a bit more. I don't know. Let me spin around and we'll take a look, but you can see you could do any type of up to or a simple bun with this and that just and having their headband just adds a little bit more detail into that finished. Look alright! Let'S take that out and we'll move on to the next style for this next style, I'm gon na be using a scarf print headband. I think these are really fun and they work really lovely as a casual look and I'm gon na do a similar thing, where I'm placing it into my hair, making sure that the ends are tucked in in between and I'm gon na do a quick little side. Braid for this style, keeping it really simple - I'm just gon na bring all my hair over one shoulder split it loosely into three now remember when braiding curly hair, you just want to go where the curls are, don't try to split the curls in place, so you Get even sections just go with where your curls are separating naturally and then just doing a basic platform, and I'm gon na take a really tiny elastic. I'Ve just got a little clear elastic here, just to secure at the end of this braid and you can go back in and just pull out any sections just to make it a little bit wider and there you're done. I really hope you like these styles. I tried to keep them really beginner friendly, so anybody could do them and I'd love to know which one was your favorite.
