Hey it's dr trish lee. I was going to do a quick brain training session with my muse headband, so i thought i'll just record it because i know people want to know how it works and i'm only planning on doing a three minute brain reset session. Like i encourage people to do when they purchase the headband, so here it goes. This is what we need to do for your brain training session. You turn your headband on and you can see it lit up. It has five sensors in the front two in the temporal pieces that go over your ear. So you put the headband on yeah, gives you funky hair. You have to make sure that it's connected underneath your hair. So i'm getting my hair out of the way and then once it's connected, i typically wear my air pods, but i'm not going to so that you can hear it's not even but that's: okay, um, okay! So then i fire up my muse app and it was set for longer, so i'm gon na turn it down to three minutes set for three hitting it. I'M going to be doing the campfire soundscape, i'm going to put it by the microphone. So you can hear it when you hear birds, if i can accomplish them on a video. When you hear birds, it is the positive feedback. So i'm going to hit start because it's gon na take a minute to calibrate, for this calibration, find a comfortable position and close your eyes. Take a deep breath. Muse is now listening to your brain signals, relax and let your mind flow. Naturally, during this, whatever you're experiencing right now is perfect, no need to control or change anything. It will read how my brain is performing as a baseline. My baseline brain performance pattern ready place your attention on your breath. Now you can see why i don't record them. Often not much happens during a brain training session i figured. I would explain it to you, hoping for the birds that i am getting there. You hear those birds, that's the positive feedback in the few videos. I'Ve done recording my brain training sessions. I joke on how good making videos is for my brain there's the proof now. You know why i make them simply because it's important to me - and it puts my brain in a really good spot, those birds that you heard. Those are the reward for my brain. So they tell my brain that i'm making a calm focus mode. Clearly, when i have my eyes closed - and i know you're staring at me and nothing's happening, i'm gon na turn the volume down it's harder for me to get those birds. So when you use this for three minutes, you can reset your brain from the active mode that drives you to either go into the screen or to take the edge off or make you feel anxious makes you feel overwhelmed when you reset your brain, you bring it Back to calm focus and you can see on my screen, it just looks like a fire and even though i'm super rocking out the birds right now, i'm going to end my session so that i can show you my graph and it's super cool. So let me save it because it's pretty neat uh, okay, so i'm going to show you that session and so you can see it was 82 com. So you can see how, hopefully you can see. Let me hit an angle that you can see. You can see how my brain started in that darker purple range that darker medium purple is neutral, so i started in neutral and then the rest of the time i was in the calm zone for one minute and 31 seconds. Thankfully i was never in the active if you're in the active zone. That means you have anxiety, your brain's overwhelmed or it's exhausted, or it's stressed out, and you can see how my brain was kind of ebbing and flowing, and then it came down and it hit that nice. You know nice plateau, nice and low in the calm zone, where i earned all those birds and that's the essence of brain training. This is how you use it. You can use it three minutes at a time to bring your brain out of the active in the neutral zones into the calm zone and every time you get in the calm zone, you're creating more calm focus in your brain performance pattern. If you use this daily or every other day, it's going to reset your baseline from higher, more anxious and overwhelmed too lower calmer and more focused. I hope that helps you out. Nullius in verba: Interesting, but I would want to see the actual microvolts and frequencies. I saw another channel for a dopamine fast for a week and they measured before and after in a clinical setting. You could see the microvolts in different regions (mainly front and back). After the short reset, the back region was producing more voltage. The headgear looked 3D printed and had at least 30 maybe 50 sensors.

Daniel Quach: Can you make a video explaining the science behind the headband?

Mobile empire: If I understood correctly your suppose to put the headband on whenever your feeling anxious and then pay attention to your breaths ( basicly meditating ) listening to the camp fire sound scape to help to calm yourself and then when your meditation is successful the birds begin to chirp . I assume the more calm you become the more the birds chirp kinda as a status indicator showing how calm and grounded you are. I'm I correct or did I misundertand? Anyways very interesting video.

Aaron Layne: When I have used this headband on your recommendation, I can't tell whether it is actually working. It seems the feedback it gives is somewhat arbitrary, especially when I try to test it by doing tough math in my head or thinking about things that give me anxiety. Does the headband just not work for some people? How can one improve if they can't feel the difference between calm and active states?

G.G G.G: After a slip let's say 1 session, the urge to keep going at times is stronger than the initial urge. U lose motivation and energy. Any advice
